On August 10, Red Violet Inc. (NASDAQ:RDVT) reported second-quarter 2026 results for the period ended June 30 that showed the company converting growth into profit at an accelerating clip. Revenue rose 23% to $26.7 million, and net income nearly doubled to $5 million. For a company built on selling identity intelligence to businesses, watching net margin move from 12% to 19% says that growth is not costing more to produce.
Gross profit climbed 29% to $20.2 million, pushing gross margin to 76% from 72%, while adjusted EBITDA jumped 48% to $11.2 million as its margin widened to 42% from 35%. Adjusted net income rose 58% to $7.2 million. Cash generation told the same story: operating cash flow increased 42% to a record $10.6 million for the quarter. None of that came from adding customers who barely move the needle. Red Violet signed on 447 new IDI customers in the quarter, a company record, ending with 10,869 customers on the platform.
FOREWARN, its product built for real estate agents, picked up 25,493 new users to reach 443,173, and 660 REALTOR ****** ociations across the country are now under contract to use it. The company also closed an underwritten public offering in August that sold 1,916,667 shares, including 250,000 shares from the underwriters' full exercise of their option, generating net proceeds of about $109.0 million. Between the funds already on hand and this new raise, Red Violet says it holds over $160 million in cash and carries no debt, money earmarked for working capital and possible acquisitions.
CEO Derek Dubner called it what he described as "the strongest pipeline of strategic initiatives" in the company's history. The company also repurchased 74,500 shares by June 30, paying $41.87 per share on average, and had $15.5 million left on its buyback authorization.
The August offering that padded Red Violet's cash balance also added 1,916,667 new shares to the count, arriving in the same year that per-share profit is climbing fastest. Diluted earnings came in a penny below basic at $0.34, and adjusted diluted earnings landed at $0.50 versus $0.51 on a basic basis, a gap new shares will only widen going forward. There is also a timing tension worth sitting with: Red Violet spent part of the quarter buying back its own stock at an average of $41.87 a share, then turned around weeks later and sold new shares to the public.

On September 10, Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) posted record third-quarter revenue of $6.76 billion, up 13% year over year, and raised its full-year revenue and profit targets. Non-GAAP EPS climbed 15% to $6.13, while GAAP EPS rose 11% to $4.62. Buried inside those headline numbers was a sharper story: AI-first ending ARR topped $650 million, growing more than 150% year over year. The same call brought a leadership change, with Anil S. Chakravarthy set to take over as CEO from Shantanu Narayen on December 1. Investors got a lot to digest in one afternoon.
Adobe's AI tools are no longer just a demo. Firefly ending ARR, which spans the Firefly app and its credit packs, grew 40% quarter over quarter, and the Acrobat AI ******* istant doubled its monthly active users over the same three months. Total monthly active users across Adobe's businesses surpassed 1 billion in the quarter, up more than 20% year over year, and creative premium MAU crossed 100 million, up more than 70%. Business professionals and consumers MAU passed 900 million, up more than 25%. That kind of user growth, concentrated in free and freemium tiers, is what feeds the paid AI upgrades now showing up in ARR.
The company backed that growth with cash. Operating cash flow hit a third-quarter record of $2.52 billion, and Adobe bought back roughly 9.5 million shares during the quarter, leaving $24.55 billion still authorized for repurchases. Management raised its full-year revenue target to a range of $26.58 billion to $26.63 billion and its non-GAAP EPS target to $24.45 to $24.50. On the product side, Adobe struck a deal to acquire Topaz Labs, whose AI enhancement models for image and video work would slot directly into Firefly and Creative Cloud. Enterprise demand held up too, with ending ARR growing more than 20% year over year at each of Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Gen Studio, and Adobe Experience Platform.
Not every metric moved as fast. Remaining performance obligations, the backlog of contracted but unrecognized revenue, grew 8% year over year to $22.16 billion, trailing both the 13% revenue growth and the 11.2% growth in total ending ARR. Current RPO grew 9%, also behind the topline. Interim CFO Steven Day flagged a separate issue heading into the fourth quarter: a foreign-exchange headwind that partly offset the benefit of the third-quarter beat when management updated its full-year guidance.
AI-first ARR, for all its 150% growth rate, is still just over $650 million against a total ARR base of $27.50 billion, so it remains a small slice of the business even as it scales. Lyft, Inc. (NASDAQ:LYFT) has begun offering Waymo's fully autonomous robotaxi rides directly through its app in Nashville, marking the first market where Waymo vehicles can be booked through both the Waymo and Lyft apps. Lyft users requesting Standard, Priority Pickup, Wait & Save, or Extra Comfort rides within the designated Nashville service area can be matched with a Waymo vehicle at no additional cost.

The Great North Run (GNR) returns to Tyneside this weekend, with 63,000 runners taking part in the world's biggest half marathon on Sunday.
Saturday's Mini and Junior events on Newcastle's Quayside are in their 40th year and saw 13,000 young people take on courses ranging from 50m (164ft) to 4km (2.5 miles).

The privately held Dubai-based firm, which claims to have more than 80 million users worldwide, has been granted an electronic money institution license by European regulators.
That will enable Bybit, which also holds a Markets in Crypto ******* ets (MiCA) license in Austria, to launch the new super app for the European market.

Braze Inc. (NASDAQ:BRZE) turned in a strong second quarter. The reputed customer engagement platform showcased continued momentum across both its product strategy and financial performance. The company generated topline figure of $227.2 million, an impressive 26.2% increase compared to the same period last year. This revenue growth was fueled by upselling gains, customer additions and renewals. The company posted $24.2 million in cash flow from operating activities, a monumental growth relative to $7 million in the same period a year ago. This was paired with $21.7 million in free cash flow, against $3.5 million during Q2 FY26.

Alex wore Saint Laurent Fall 2026, taking the cropped cable-knit sweater from the runway and giving it a much cleaner spin with wide-leg black trousers. I've been enjoying the collection's striped pieces on the red carpet, but I like that Alex didn't recreate the runway styling. The all-black palette puts the focus on the proportions, which is what makes this work for me.
Cassie opted for a Magda Butrym wool corset dress, and this is easily my favourite part of their couple's style moment. The precise darting and padded hips create that exaggerated hourglass silhouette the designer does so well, and you know I love a well-executed exaggerated silhouette.
The dress is so good that the shoes frustrate me even more. The bronze pointed-toe pumps with criss-cross ankle straps feel disconnected from the modernity of the silhouette. A pewter strappy sandal or mule would have been a much stronger finish and allowed the dress to have the final word.

Block has applied to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a national trust bank charter, the payments company behind Square and Cash App said on Tuesday.
Builders Bank & Trust would be uninsured and non-depository, taking no deposits and making no loans. Its business would be custody of Bitcoin and other digital ***** ets, executing customer buy and sell orders on a riskless principal basis, and stablecoin settlement.
Block has run digital ***** et services for about eight years under more than 50 state money transmitter and virtual currency licenses, the application says, handling around $10.7 billion in Bitcoin transaction volume in 2025 and serving about two million monthly crypto users through Cash App by the second quarter. A federal charter, Block says, would let it support those activities "through a consistent national framework as the business scales."
Builders Bank would be headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with no branches. All five proposed directors live elsewhere, and Block has asked the OCC to waive the rule requiring one to live within 100 miles. Lee Woolley, Block's digital ***** et strategy lead and a former Northern Trust and BNY Mellon executive, would chair it and serve as chief executive.
Dorsey himself is not among the organizers, directors or senior executives, and appears in the filing only as Block's co-founder. The business plan and capital figures went in as confidential exhibits, and the bank cannot open unless the OCC approves.

With leather, tailoring and a decidedly fall-leaning palette dominating the arrivals, the guests looked more ready for the season ahead than the collection being presented.
This head-to-toe olive Ralph Lauren look is not Elizabeth Debicki's usual style, but I'm not opposed to seeing her try something different. The relaxed trousers, shirt, tie and trench have an appealing menswear influence, although I think a different hairstyle would have sold it to me. Something slicked back would have complemented the tailoring and made the whole look feel sharper.

An independent energy development company and a long-time manufacturer of wood products have signed an agreement to develop geothermal projects in Washington and Oregon.Hexagon Energy and Weyerhaeuser Co. on September 10 said they have closed a deal covering that could provide an estimated 3 GW of geothermal power generation capacity in the Pacific Northwest. The land is part of Weyerhaeuser's portfolio of holdings. CNBC reported that OpenAI said it will end model access through Cursor on November 12, following **** e Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) $60 billion all-stock acquisition of Cursor's parent company, Anysphere, which closed on August 14.
OpenAI said it "cannot be confident that **** eX will use our technology within our terms of service, based on our experience with Elon Musk's companies violating contracts," pointing to disputes involving X and xAI, including Musk's own courtroom admission that xAI had trained on OpenAI's output. Cursor CEO Michael Truell said on X that OpenAI models handle about 5% of Cursor's user traffic and that the two companies are discussing the decision.
Musk responded on X, calling OpenAI's leadership "utterly untrustworthy." Anthropic co-founder Tom Brown said his company will instead increase compute to support Claude in Cursor.
The actual business disruption looks limited based on the numbers involved. Cursor's own CEO said OpenAI models account for only about 5% of user traffic. It means the vast majority of Cursor's usage already runs on other model providers, limiting how much this cutoff changes the product most users experience.
Cursor can reduce its dependence on OpenAI as **** e Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) expands its AI ecosystem. Losing access to OpenAI models could push Cursor to deepen its relationships with Anthropic and other providers, while **** eX can use its growing AI infrastructure to support the coding platform.
