Ice Cube, fresh off driving the 2025 World Series trophy onto the Dodger Stadium turf in the back seat of a candy-blue Chevy convertible, didn't seem to notice Mark Walter.
As the legendary L.A. rapper bounced from the podium after commencing the on-field ceremonies at last year's World Series parade celebration, he began congratulating anybody and everybody in his path. Manager Dave Roberts, World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, cult hero reliever Anthony Banda, team president Stan Kasten and countless others received high-fives and words of recognition. But purposefully or not, Cube strode right on by the man funding the entire operation, team owner Mark Walter.
Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2026 NFL season
Moments later, Walter, sporting a black and gold "World Series Champions" T-shirt over a gray-blue ***** on-down like a CEO at a company picnic, addressed the crowd. He spoke for no more than 45 seconds, uttering no more than 70 words. The audience responded with a relatively tame yet appreciative cheer. Walter then inched back into the throng of players and staff as Kasten, wearing a gaudy leather jacket emblazoned with the L.A. skyline, took the mic.
The celebration rolled on. Surely, few in attendance gave the owner a second thought. Surely, Walter, mastermind and afterthought, was happy with that dynamic.

During the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, Michael Strahan was a defensive end for the New York Giants
The athlete-turned-broadcast host is a narrator of 9/11: United We Stand — 25 Years Later, a documentary that looks back on the tragedy and two and a half decades of healing
Strahan forged a close friendship with Pete Davidson, whose father died in the line of duty while helping evacuate people from the Twin Towers
When two planes flew into New York City's Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, Michael Strahan was at his home in Montclair, N.J., having gotten in late the night before from Denver after a Monday Night Football game. He was trying to catch some sleep that morning when he got a call telling him to look out of his window, where he had an enviable view of the New York City skyline.
That day, he tells PEOPLE, "the skyline changed forever."

Princess Diana's younger brother reportedly penned his latest book to uncover a major truth about her. The memoir will mark the first time the 9th Earl Spencer has spoken openly and at length about his late sister. Born just three years apart, Diana and her brother Charles Spencer shared a deeply protective, intertwined bond forged in childhood at Althorp House.
In a personal new memoir, Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer confronts what he describes as long-standing falsehoods about her life, marriage, and death. As reported by RadarOnline, Spencer will release the book, Swan Song, ahead of the 30th anniversary of the late Princess' death at age 36 in a Paris car crash on August 31, 1997.
The memoir traces their early years, Diana's turbulent 15-year marriage to now-King Charles, and the aftermath after her passing, when an outpouring of public grief swept Britain. Speaking exclusively to the outlet, a publishing insider said, "[Spencer] feels that three decades of books, documentaries and commentary have allowed certain claims about Diana to harden into accepted history."
The source noted that Spencer "had a uniquely close view of her life" and thus he "believes this is his opportunity to put his own account permanently on the record – including what she endured during her marriage and what happened after she died." According to the insider, "His intention is to finally set the record straight about what he sees as the truth about his sister's life."
Meanwhile, 62-year-old Earl had shared, "With the 30th anniversary of Diana's tragic death on the skyline, I've been inundated yet again with requests for interviews about my sister. This has convinced me to write down my own thoughts and memories, once and for all, rather than having the discomfort of again reading the opinions of others, many of which are based on untruths that have become accepted over time."

Two games, two draws. Something to build on for Wrexham.
The need for further transfer business loomed large over the Racecourse following the 1-1 draw with Watford that frustrated fans on the first home afternoon of the new Championship campaign.
But, dominating the skyline of the ground - and the city - a towering, tangible reminder of the scale of the ambition at the north Wales club.
The new £70m Kop stand is still lacking fans, still not completed, but the concrete and steel shape of an exciting future was obvious when both players and fans took their positions for the first fixture of the season at their changing north Walian home.
"It's exciting because it's a real symbol of hope ahead," said chief executive Michael Williamson.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Athletics' stadium on the Las Vegas Strip is beginning to resemble the final product, with the second steel truss arch added this week for what will eventually provide a similar look to Australia's famed Sydney Opera House.
"This week was a very exciting week," said Tyler Van Eeckhaut, project director for contractors Mortenson-McCarthy. "We set the center truss, which kicks off with a tremendous amount of work for the next upcoming months."
A's President Marc Badain said following Thursday's Las Vegas Stadium Authority meeting that the $2 billion, 33,000-person capacity domed ballpark remains on schedule to be completed in time for the 2028 season.
"I think everyone's very pleased," Badain said. "The workforce in this community has delivered on hundreds of projects over the last 30, 40, 50 years, so certainly we're not surprised. It's nice to see the vision come to life and see the trusses come up and take their part in the skyline, and it's going to be a nice anchor on the south part of the Strip. Certainly the first building you see when you land at Harry Reid Airport."
There was a concern at the prior Stadium Authority meeting over whether the A's might have to build a temporary plaza to be ready when the ballpark opens. Bally's Corp. at that time hadn't yet raised financing for an elevated plaza on the property as part of a $1.19 billion mixed-use project that includes restaurants, shopping and entertainment in addition to a hotel-casino and 2,500-seat theater.

Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer is preparing to share his personal memories of the late royal in a new book. Spencer says he wants to tell his sister's story from his own perspective as the 30th anniversary of her death approaches.
According to The Guardian, Charles Spencer's upcoming memoir, "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister," on September 22 in the U.K. The memoir will recount Princess Diana's life as well as the week leading up to her death in 1997. According to the book's publisher, the memoir marks the first time Spencer has spoken openly and at length about his sister in book form.
Explaining why he decided to write it, Spencer said the upcoming anniversary has brought renewed public interest in Diana's life. "With the 30th anniversary of Diana's tragic death on the skyline, I've been inundated yet again with requests for interviews about my sister," he said.
Spencer added that he wanted to record his own memories instead of reading what he described as inaccurate accounts. "This has convinced me to write down my own thoughts and memories, once and for all, rather than having the discomfort of again reading the opinions of others, many of which are based on untruths that have become accepted over time."
He also explained the goal behind the project. "The aim of this book is to tell the truth about Diana from her brother's perspective, just as I attempted to do when speaking at her funeral," Spencer said. "As with my eulogy, I want to speak on Diana's behalf and do so in an openly positive way."

All our journeys begin with a plane. A flight that takes us far away, to the other side of the world, with one certainty accompanying every departure: wherever we land, we will find an Inter family waiting for us.
That is the strength of being an Inter fan. A bond that knows no boundaries and, if anything, seems to grow stronger the further we are from Milan and San Siro. From Hong Kong to Perth, the affection, passion and unwavering devotion to the Nerazzurri colours never once wavered. Chants, banners, marches: a home away from home.
Ten days on tour that brought together football and people. Three high-level international fixtures against Manchester City, AC Milan and Juventus provided the team with valuable competitive minutes and momentum, with goals, key insights and important playing time ahead of the new season. In Hong Kong came the opening fixture against Manchester City, in a spectacular global setting; in Perth, the historic derby against AC Milan, the first to be played on Australian soil; and finally, the clash with Juventus to bring the tour to a close.
In Hong Kong, Inter built a continuous presence day after day. The team's arrival with partner Qatar Airways, travelling around the city and taking part in various local activities. The visit to BYD's headquarters in Shenzhen, at the heart of one of the world's most advanced technology hubs. In the city, the Fanatics Store at Hysan Place became a meeting point for the Nerazzurri faithful, where Christian Vieri met supporters for photos, autographs and a constant stream of passionate fans.In the stands during Manchester City vs. Inter, the supporters' choreography filled the stadium with colour, transforming an international fixture into a powerful expression of identity. Then, in the evening, the skyline took centre stage: a drone show lit up the Hong Kong sky with Nerazzurri symbols, colours and references, taking the Club beyond the pitch and into the heart of the city.
In Perth, the story became even more tangible and community-focused. Brookfield Place was transformed into the heart of Nerazzurri life: a fan zone, a meeting place and a shared ******* e for anticipation. Supporters and Inter Club members travelling from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Indonesia, along with youngsters from Inter Academy Sydney, gathered in the same places every day, creating a genuine sense of continuity between the team and the community.

An elegant evening celebrating Inter's international presence marked the Club's stay in Hong Kong during the opening leg of the Internazionale Summer Tour. Within one of Asia's most dynamic cities, the Club brought together representatives from local institutions, partners, media and the cultural community for an exclusive event inspired by the values that have defined Inter since its foundation.
Hosted at Cardinal Point, the spectacular Sky Terrace on the 45th floor of the Landmark skyscraper, the event treated guests to breathtaking views of Hong Kong's skyline and Victoria Harbour. It provided the perfect setting to celebrate Inter's international presence, surrounded by the colours that have represented the Club since 1908: "Black as the night, blue as the sky."
At the heart of the evening was an opportunity to enjoy a traditional aperitivo with the local community, designed to bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds. Guests experienced an authentic Milanese aperitivo – one of the city's most iconic social traditions – while embracing the spirit of openness, exchange and dialogue that has always been central to Inter's identity as Internazionale.
The event welcomed leading representatives from local institutions, Club partners, members of the media, content creators and prominent figures from across Hong Kong, creating a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration where sport, culture and business came together.
The evening opened with a special welcome from Nerazzurri legend Christian Vieri, who took to the stage alongside host Sze Nga and Rivista Undici journalist Jay Ganglani, whose publication partnered with the event. Their conversation explored football's role as a global cultural phenomenon and Inter's evolution into an international brand capable of connecting with different markets, cultures and communities around the world.

Brasada Capital Management, an investment management company, released its Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter is available to download here. The market landscape in the past quarter has been significantly influenced by the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), overshadowing other concerns like geopolitical conflicts. Currently, the AI boom is so substantial that it affects the entire market cycle. Key factors include a 400% increase in memory demand due to AI, a slow supply response that takes years to catch up, and minimal demand destruction. The Fund's investment strategy focuses on essential infrastructure that maintains competitive advantages, rather than chasing speculative momentum. The firm emphasizes secular long-term growth, regardless of which AI technologies prevail. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Brasada Capital Management highlighted Cavco Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVCO). Cavco Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVCO) is a leading manufacturer of factory-built homes primarily in the United States. On July 22, 2026, Cavco Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVCO) closed at $570.05 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $4.39 billion. Cavco Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVCO) posted a one-month return of -6.32%, while its shares gained 38.35% over the past 52 weeks.
Brasada Capital Management stated the following regarding Cavco Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVCO) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Cavco Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVCO) is one of the largest producers of manufactured and modular homes, serving as a critical supplier of affordable housing solutions across the U.S. Cavco utilizes 33 manufacturing production lines and distributes its homes through a network of 92 company-owned retail locations as well as independent retailers. To support the entire homebuying lifecycle, Cavco also offers integrated services through its Standard Casualty insurance group and CountryPlace Mortgage finance subsidiary, making it a comprehensive player in the factory-built housing ecosystem.
What makes Cavco a high-quality business is that it operates within a highly consolidated and attractive oligopoly that heavily favors scale and established distribution. The top three manufacturers in this industry, Clayton Homes, Skyline Champion, and Cavco, control more than 86% of total industry production. This concentrated industry structure creates significant barriers to entry for new competitors, allowing the dominant players to maintain rational pricing, and driving outsized returns on capital by leveraging procurement scale and a wide geographic reach. And unlike AI, housing is one of those industries that has been around for centuries and will likely continue to be around for centuries more..." (Click here to read the full text)

Every movie you have ever loved has lied to you.
The city skyline was a matte painting. The shark was rubber and it barely worked. The crowd of 40,000 was 400 extras and a lot of patient duplication. Audiences have never actually wanted the truth from a screen. We want the trick to hold.
Hollywood has always been comfortable with that bargain. What it has never been comfortable with is a change in who performs the trick.
That is the fight that shut the industry down in 2023, and it is the fight that has kept studios careful about how they discuss artificial intelligence (AI) ever since. Everyone has been running pilots. Almost **** ody has been willing to say how many. The safe play was to call it experimentation, name a single project, and move on before anyone asked a follow-up question.
Netflix (NFLX) just stopped playing it safe.

MLB All-Star Game Final Score, Highlights: AL Blanks NL in First All-Star Game Shutout in 13 Years originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
gainst the backdrop of America’s 250th anniversary, the 96th Midsummer Classic at Citizens Bank Park became a definitive showcase of American League pitching depth. Behind a quick start and a dominant staff performance that limited the National League to just 3 hits, the AL secured a 4-0 victory on Tuesday night in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game.
The AL bats wasted no time, striking for 3 runs in the top of the first. With 2 outs and the bases loaded, New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger ripped a 2-run single to center field, then his teammate Ben Rice followed with an RBI knock, burying the NL in an early 3-0 hole.
From there, the contest settled into a pitching duel, with both sides unable to produce anything on offense. While celebratory fireworks lit up the Philadelphia skyline throughout the night — including a tribute to “The Sandlot” and a “God Bless America” performance — there were none to be found on the diamond, with the teams putting together 13 scoreless frames.
In the top of the 8th, the AL added insurance in the later frames courtesy of Miguel Vargas. Entering as a pinch-runner after Junior Caminero left following a hit-by-pitch, the White Sox infielder launched a 433-foot solo home run to add insurance.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump's plans to build a skyline-altering arch in the nation's capital is getting another review from the federal commission whose approval he needs, but the agency's staff says the project should be revised before it gets the go-ahead.
The National Capital Planning Commission is meeting Thursday, and the Republican president's proposed 250-foot (76-meter) arch is one of the items on the agenda.
In a report, the agency's staff recommends that the commission approve the preliminary site and building plans for the arch. But the staff also recommends that the design be tweaked to comply with a federal law that limits building heights in downtown Washington to preserve the city's famous skyline. The planning commission applies the law during its approval process.
"Staff suggests the Commission request the applicant revise the project design to comply with the Height of Buildings Act and return to NCPC for final approval," the 185-page report says.
Applying the law "would require design revisions to redistribute the height between the main structure, habitable roof structure and statuary," the report said. But even with the recommended revisions, the arch, a public observation deck and three gilded topper statues would still reach Trump's desired 250-foot height, the report said.

The Trocadéro provided the perfect setting for The Odyssey Paris photocall this evening, with the Eiffel Tower creating an unforgettable backdrop as the sun set over the city.
Law Roach's encyclopaedic knowledge of fashion history was evident here, because it's easy to imagine that, the moment he learned the photocall would take place at the Trocadéro, Philip Treacy's extraordinary gold lace headpiece, first worn by Debra Shaw on the Givenchy Spring 1997 Haute Couture runway, immediately came to mind.
That became the starting point for Zendaya's latest press tour look.
She wore the collection's white tailored dress, designed by Alexander McQueen, featuring razor-sharp tailoring, a sculptural silhouette and oversized detachable cuffs, creating one of the most memorable couture moments from McQueen's early tenure at the house.
While Greek mythology has naturally inspired much of Zendaya's wardrobe throughout The Odyssey press tour, I love that this look proves a goddess reference doesn't always have to rely on flowing drapery or overt Grecian cues. Instead, the styling took a more regal, ceremonial approach, with Treacy's dramatic headpiece transforming the look into something almost mythical against the Paris skyline.

It's been two days since Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce, and some of their superstar friends have started giving us tantalising glimpses into what it was like.
About 1,000 names were reportedly on the guest list, including some of the biggest stars from music, Hollywood and sport.
Details of the wedding had been a closely guarded secret, with guests ******* umed to be under instructions not to give away details or photos. The couple are also yet to release any photos from the event.
But following Friday night's bash in New York, big names such as BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James and Sin City star Jessica Alba have been posting online, confirming they attended and congratulating the pop sensation and her Super Bowl champion husband.
Others have been more cryptic, sharing images of their outfits set to Swift's tracks or photos of the Manhattan skyline which suggest they were at the wedding.

A man who flew his plane into Beijing's tallest skyscraper last week was a 66-year-old local resident who had expressed suicidal thoughts, Chinese authorities said Thursday, amid intense speculation about the pilot's identity and motivation.
The crash took place on Friday evening when a small plane appeared to evade some of the world's strictest aviation controls and slam into the 109-story CITIC Tower that dominates the capital's skyline, killing the pilot and injuring 13 other people.
The incident was strictly censored in China and it took nearly a day for authorities to acknowledge the crash.
On Thursday, authorities released new details about who was flying the plane.
The pilot, who was only identified by his surname Liu, took off from a general aviation airport in northeastern Beijing on Friday afternoon, initially flying with a companion in the two-seater Sunward SA60L Aurora, a domestically manufactured aircraft, according to a statement from the city's Chaoyang District government.

Morocco manager Mohamed Ouahbi had just been asked what would inspire his players to justify the feverish expectation hanging over them. Would they turn to the example of history, or would they draw on something else? “The biggest motivation the players have is to put on the jersey and represent the country,” he began. “That is motivation enough to move mountains.”
It would be some feat if they managed to alter the geology of Cerro de la Silla, the claw-shaped double peak that overwhelms the skyline around Estadio Monterrey, where Morocco and the Netherlands will play in the World Cup Round of 32.
But both teams are ready for a test of strength that could, at once, grace this World Cup and do it a disservice. One of these teams, jostling among those hopefuls just below the five or six favourites, will earn the kind of win that gives lift-off in a tournament. The other will go home unseasonably early and face inevitable recriminations.
Related: World Cup glory could all come down to penalties. What’s the best strategy?
The outcome looks impossible to call. Perhaps it will come down to who can handle the heat, projected to be at least 30 degrees C / 86 degrees F when the game begins at 7pm local time. This time the hydration breaks will prove worthy of the name.

On Friday afternoon a small plane appeared to evade some of the world's strictest aviation controls and slam into the tallest skyscraper in Beijing, the 109-story CITIC Tower that dominates the city's skyline, killing the pilot and injuring 13 other people.
The crash sent shards of glass and aircraft debris plummeting hundreds of feet down to the streets below as office workers left for the weekend, causing panic in the heart of China's most protected city.
A short while later, it was like nothing had happened.
All references to the incident – and the shocking footage of it – had been scrubbed from Chinese social media. The government initially did not publicly acknowledge any incident had taken place. State media – including the country's national broadcaster CCTV, headquartered across the road from the crash site – made no mention of the incident.
That's thanks to the work of China's army of censors and the Communist authorities' obsessive control over information – particularly concerning events they believe may bring negative attention or consequences

FNB Stadium turned into a mini World Cup village Friday as fans filled the home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, for a free watch party on the South Shore. Supporters in national team jerseys and Riverhounds gear packed into the stands to watch the match on the stadium videoboard, bringing global soccer culture to the banks of the Monongahela.
The event is part of a series of USA World Cup watch parties hosted by the Riverhounds and partners, designed to give Pittsburghers a stadium‑style experience even when the action is hundreds of miles away. Families, longtime soccer fans and casual viewers mixed on the concourse, creating a festival atmosphere with chants, flags and interactive soccer activities on the field.
Local tourism officials say nights like this are about more than fandom — they’re part of a broader push to cement Pittsburgh’s status as a sports destination that can turn big games into real visitor spending. Sports events supported by VisitPITTSBURGH have generated tons of business from the NFL Draft to this week’s World Cup parties. Watch parties help drive business to bars, restaurants and hotels clustered around Station Square and Downtown.
With Pittsburgh also hosting larger World Cup fan zones at Acrisure Stadium, the Riverhounds’ series of South Shore watch parties show how the city is using global soccer to boost its economy — and bring thousands of fans together under one skyline.

California, New York, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas are all proud owners of multiple NFL franchises. Those make sense. A quick and easy way to determine size is to glance at an electoral map. As some of the biggest Election Day prizes, it makes sense they might garner two or more NFL franchises, but when Indiana looks at that, the state says, “hold my beer”. The Chicago Bears are on the verge of an Indiana move, and the Indianapolis Colts might have a “statemate”.
Opinions on this topic vary wildly. Of course, many Bears fans can’t imagine the team moving out of Chicago, let alone the state, but it is looking more and more likely. The Chicago Bears Board of Directors voted last week to advance their stadium development project in Hammond, Indiana, so things are certainly gaining momentum.
Politics, economic impact, and opinions of whether this is a good or bad idea aside, this is a crazy move to even think about. Indiana, yes, Indiana would be home to two NFL franchises. Now, don’t expect the name to change to the Hammond Bears anytime soon. Maybe this ends up more like “the New York Jets and Giants really play in New Jersey” type of thing, but it’s still wild. The funniest thing that comes to mind is thinking about a late Sunday afternoon pregame intro in which the game announcers talk about the huge matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears while showing the skyline of Hammond. Would they really?
All of this is to say that this isn’t a done deal. Things are leaning towards yes in a major way, but nothing is set in stone. If you have followed any part of this saga you know how back and forth and wishy-washy it has been. The Colts do seem to be on the inside track to having a partner in the state of Indiana, though. The Chicago Bears are on the verge of a Hammond, Indiana move. That could make Indiana one of the great football states in the country. Wow.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has been announced as EA Sports' cover athlete for the Madden NFL 27 video game.
Bears fans woke up to the news Wednesday that their quarterback is the next cover athlete. It's an honor reserved for some of the NFL's very best players.
On the standard cover, Williams is depicted in a body position similar to his pivotal, scrambling, fourth-and-8 jump pass to Rome Odunze in a stirring comeback victory over Green Bay in a wild card playoff game on Jan. 10.
With his arm ***** ed to throw and his feet spread, Williams appears to soar above a silhouette of the Chicago skyline that is set against a blue backdrop.
The deluxe edition features a tight shot of Williams with arms crossed over his white game jersey, a dark, night-like background and snow falling around him.
