American Tower Corporation (NYSE:AMT) traded at around $165 on October 6, within five dollars of its 52-week low of $160.06.
The company keeps 45.41% of revenue as operating profit on a portfolio of communications towers leased to wireless carriers. A business that profitable sitting at a 52-week low is usually a disagreement about the future rather than the present.

A tower is difficult to replicate for reasons that have nothing to do with engineering. Local authorities restrict where new structures can go, so an existing site near a highway or a dense suburb cannot simply be copied next door.
The economics follow from that scarcity. The first tenant on a tower covers the construction and the ground lease, and each additional tenant is close to pure margin. Gross margin of 73.77% is what that layering produces, and the 45.41% operating margin is what survives after the overheads.

The Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time since July 2023 on Wednesday, and the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) immediately dropped. It rose again before the day was over, but it's been steadily declining over the past month since hitting a high in mid-August.
There are a number of reasons for the fall, and part of that has been the anticipation of rate hikes. The Fed's decision has a lot to do with the other reasons, including high inflation and rising oil prices, and none of these spell enthusiasm for the market. Here's how the inflation outlook and accompanying interest rates signal a warning for investors.
Missed AI's "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 15x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our **** ysts, we're only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »
The simple version is that rising oil prices increase production costs, leading to higher consumer prices. The artificial intelligence (AI) buildout is contributing as well; memory prices are skyrocketing as hyperscalers have an insatiable demand for scarce memory products, and Apple, for example, said it's going to raise some prices.
As inflation surges and prices go up, it's harder for shoppers to keep spending. The worry is that lower consumer spending will lead to sagging sales for many companies, and the market is pricing that in as the inflation outlook persists.

A Virginia-based defense contractor known for its Switchblade attack drones and, more recently, laser weapons and ****** e hardware, saw its BlueHalo unit win a Pentagon contract worth up to $99.8 million for ****** e systems research, according to Seeking Alpha.
Shares climbed more than 4% in the next session, the same report showed. Six months earlier, a far larger ****** e bet from that same unit collapsed and erased more than half the company's market value.
That contrast, not the $99.8 million figure, is the real story behind AeroVironment's (AVAV) Sept. 14 rally. It shows how hard the company has had to work to rebuild trust with the same customer in less than a year.
AVAV shares closed Sept. 14 at $153.40, up 4.56% from Friday, Sept. 11's close. That still leaves the stock about 63% below its all-time high of $417.86, a level reached on Oct. 9, 2025, which also marks AVAV's 52-week high.
The 52-week low is $135.20, meaning the stock has spent most of 2026 far closer to its floor than its ceiling. Wall Street has not given up on it.

For many years, franchising rewarded momentum. A compelling concept, solid unit growth, and a polished sales presentation were often enough to attract development interest.
Not anymore.
As inflation, higher labor costs, tighter lending standards, and shifting regulations reshaped the operating environment over the past year, prospective franchisees have become far more selective about where they invest. Excitement still matters, but it no longer closes the deal on its own.
"The past year has really acted as a stress test, and not everyone passed," says Liane Caruso, owner of ****** oCMO and cofounder of Franchise ****** embly. "The brands that held up were the ones with lean, simple operations and realistic unit economics built for normal conditions."

JE Dunn Construction is expanding its advanced technology group with a power generation unit, according to an Aug. 26 announcement shared with Construction Dive, and it's selected a leader internally to helm the division.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based builder tapped Ryan Wilson to lead the sector as vice president and market lead, per the announcement. Wilson joined the construction firm in 2018 as a project engineer, per his LinkedIn. Previously, he was a senior project manager focused on power, industrial and manufacturing work.
In this new role, Wilson will work with the firm's clients, industry partners and internal teams to develop new delivery strategies and identify market opportunities for the segment, per the announcement.
JE Dunn cited the burgeoning growth of artificial intelligence infrastructure, the manufacturing onshoring boom and aging power infrastructure as the key drivers of the surge in power generation projects. JE Dunn, thus far, has completed more than 220 power projects across all generation types.
