Yesterday, it was reported that Borussia Dortmund had offered 1.FC Köln a transfer fee of €26million plus €16million in add-ons for Said El Mala.
Köln immediately rejected Dortmund's offer and now, according to the Geissblog, Effzeh have declared negotiations "ended" immediately.
The Cathedral City club's management is known to be demanding a €50 million transfer fee and the Cologne bosses are reportedly annoyed by BVB's approach.
Specifically, they “disagree with how Dortmund allegedly tried to influence the player to make a transfer more likely.”
By contrast, the Express senses, “rumblings are already circulating that El Mala will be under contract with BVB in a few weeks.”

Lady Henrietta Stanley, the daughter of the 19th Earl of Derby and the Countess of Derby, married Alexander "Sasha" Reviakin
The high-profile nuptials took place at Liverpool Cathedral, and the reception was held at the family seat of Knowsley Hall
For the big day, the countess loaned her daughter the Derby Tiara, which was created in 1893 and worn at Queen Elizabeth's coronation
Lady Henrietta Stanley — the daughter of Edward Stanley, the 19th Earl of Derby, and Caroline Stanley, the Countess of Derby — married Alexander "Sasha" Reviakin sporting a regal headpiece.
For the big day on July 4, the countess, who was friends and schoolmates with the late Princess Diana, loaned her 29-year-old daughter the Derby Tiara, a stunning headpiece that she wore on her own wedding day in 1995. But its regal history goes back much further than that.

Destination Kia is also leaning into Fa'alave-Johnson's abilities as part of the NIL partnership. In a video posted to Instagram on Monday, he promoted the new Kia Telluride.
"Fast isn't just about the clock," Fa'alave-Johnson's post read. "It's about preparation, discipline, and knowing how to make every move count. That's why we're proud to team up with Honor Fa'alave-Johnson, the fastest football player in high school history, clocked at an incredible 22.7 MPH in a game.

The new 2027 rankings were released Monday and there were a lot of changes after all the big summer events. Here's the latest intel and some thoughts on the top players in California heading through July:
When Wright was committed to Georgia, a lot of the talk around him was that he was going to end up flipping but that Oregon was the biggest threat.
But there were people who kept saying Miami was the team to beat – although they were in the minority – and the Ducks seemed confident that they'd end up landing him in the end.
The new No. 1 cornerback in the Rivals rankings, the Long Beach Poly standout said he loved everything about Miami, how it got to the national championship last season, how coach Will Harris and Terry Jefferson interacted with him and a promise from coach Mario Cristobal that he'd have a big opportunity to start from Day 1.
From the early stages of his recruitment, USC was going to be tough to beat for the San Diego Cathedral Catholic two-way standout who idolized Reggie Bush and others from his hometown growing up.

After a massive overhaul of the squad this offseason, Penn State basketball is looking to build more tradition on it as well. This year, they have a unique opportunity to renew one of the fiercest college basketball rivalries in one of the sport's most iconic venues. To commemorate the 150th year of the rivalry, Penn State will be playing Pitt in the Palestra, a venue unlike any other.
The game will be played on November 8th in. what should be an incredible atmosphere. While the Nittany Lions and the Panthers have played 150 times over the years, the rivalry had not been as lively over the years. The game had only been played nine times throughout the past two decades before Mike Rhoades' arrival in Happy Valley saw Penn State schedule a game against them last year. Unfortunately for the Nittany Lions, the game did not end well, as they got drubbed 80-46. Now, they have a chance to make amends in one of college sports' grandest venues.
The Palestra itself is celebrating an important milestone in its history, celebrating its 100th anniversary, but its history over the years has provided college basketball fans many a great moment. Housing the UPenn basketball program, it is fondly known as "the Cathedral of College Basketball". Penn State have played in the arena 64 times in their history, often playing at least one Big Ten matchup each year there. Most fans love it for the intimate experience, as it has an old school vibe with bleachers close to the court. For Rhoades and his squad, this could be a massive test in what could be a rebuilding year. A large number of new players have entered the program and no knows how the Nittany Lions will look on the court. Still, with several opportunities to impress such as the Battle 4 Atlantis tourney in November and now this game at the Palestra, there will be no margin for error for the new look squad.

Lionel Messi's words echoed through Buenos Aires Cathedral on Thursday as Archbishop Jorge Garcia Cuerva quoted Argentina's captain during a Mass marking the country's Independence Day with the national team preparing for a World Cup quarter-final against Switzerland.
Garcia Cuerva used Messi's message after the team's 2022 World Cup triumph in Qatar as a call for unity in a ceremony also attended by Argentine President Javier Milei.
"Let us keep our shirts on, and with passion, let us bring to life the message that Lionel Messi once posted on his social media," García Cuerva said during the service before reading the words the talismanic forward wrote four years ago.
"When we Argentines fight together and stand united, we are capable of achieving whatever we set our minds to," Messi said.
The reference came two days after Argentina beat Egypt 3-2 in a dramatic comeback, having trailed 2-0, to reach the last eight of the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Four matches, four wins. Eight goals scored, none conceded. A coming-of-age for 17-year-old prodigy Gilberto Mora. The first half of Mexico’s World Cup has gone perfectly.
El Tri have played each of those matches at the brutalist Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The ground has a unique connection to the World Cup: It is the only place on the planet to have hosted matches in three different tournaments.
It is also hallowed ground. In 1970, it witnessed the coronation of the Pelé-led Brazil side that is still considered the best ever. In 1986, it saw Diego Maradona’s goal of the century (and his infamous handball) against England. In 2026, the atmosphere during Mexico’s round-of-16 match against Ecuador was the most intense of this World Cup so far.
Mexico’s preeminent soccer historian Juan Villoro describes it as the country’s “cathedral of football.” But the venue is not appreciated by everyone.
For a soccer stadium, the Azteca is unusually high up, at 2,200m above sea level. For athletes not acclimatized, a high-energy sport like soccer at altitude puts a major strain on the body. Playing high up is different from playing in the heat: Heat-related fatigue is like a steady drain on the body, whereas altitude-driven fatigue is like suddenly hitting the wall.

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. – Shinnecock Hills is widely considered one of golf’s cathedrals.
For Matt Robles, it’s his dojang.
When Robles wasn’t cutting his teeth at the local muni in Downey, California, a blue-collar city in south Los Angeles, just miles from Compton, he was sharpening his mind at the taekwondo training hall. One of the five tenants of the Korean martial art is to respect one’s instructor; if not, physical punishment is warranted, usually in the form of duck walks or frog jumps.
This week, Robles’ grandmaster is William Flynn, whose beautiful-yet-punishing design will host this week’s 126th U.S. Open. Robles, a 20-year-old rising junior at Santa Clara, is one of 62 open qualifiers, 34 first-timers and a record-tying 20 amateurs in the 156-man field, each competitor hoping to not just solve this intricate test but survive the exposed, undulating layout that will surely be pummeled by up-to-40-mph gusts over the next few days.
Robles will hit the first shot of major career at 2:42 p.m. ET Thursday, part of the last threesome off the 10th tee that won’t finish until at least dusk.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Harold Kavan just shook his head and smiled at his daughter, searching for the right words to sum up what he just witnessed her do in the softball cathedral of Devon Park.
“Un-freaking-believable,” he said with a laugh.
Teagan Kavan entered the circle in the sixth inning for Texas on Thursday night in Game 2 of the Women’s College World Series final. Her Longhorns had a narrow one-run lead over Texas Tech, needing six outs to halt any comeback from the Red Raiders and seal back-to-back national championships for Texas.
Kavan slammed the door shut, extinguishing Texas Tech's hopes of piecing together a late rally. She struck out all three batters she faced in the sixth inning, sitting them down one-by-one. In the seventh, she got Lagi Quiroga to groundout to shortstop, then fanned Mia Williams and Mihyia Davis.
When Kavan’s final pitch met the glove of Reese Atwood after whizzing by Davis’ bat, she pumped her fists, tossed her mask and glove and jumped into Atwood’s arms. The Longhorns had their second WCWS **** le.
