Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have become the modern day power couple following their marriage earlier in the year.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was already one of the biggest names in the NFL before the start of his relationship with Swift. However, his fame rose to another level once word got out about his and Swift's connection.
Despite playing into his late thirties, Kelce is still showing out for the Chiefs and has made a strong start to the 2026 season. The 37-year-old has already racked up 246 yards and two touchdowns through the opening four games.
Despite being a household name for sports fans across the nation, Swift's mother Andrea had to ask a close family friend when researching who her daughter's potential future partner actually was.
Kelce and Swift have now been together for three years and carrying a huge global following between them. However, like any good mother, Andrea did some digging on Kelce and his reputation before giving Swift the green light to consider dating him.

$100,000 split across MO and ET alone generates roughly $2,548 annually, backed by 60 and 19 consecutive dividend raises respectively.
Verizon's CFO called its 6.1% dividend "ironclad" after free cash flow surged 27% to $6.43 billion in Q2.
Exxon anchors the basket with 43 straight years of dividend growth and a fortress balance sheet carrying just 0.55x net debt-to-EBITDA.

Split $100,000 equally across five blue-chip dividend payers in tobacco, pipelines, telecom, net-lease real estate and integrated oil, and today's yields produce roughly $5,436 in annual income. That works out to about $20,000 per name. Dividend safety depends on more than yield. These companies back their payouts with long records of raises, real cash generation and a balance sheet that can handle a rough patch. That combination is what turns a one-time investment into a durable income stream.

A new report suggests that Prince Harry's UK return is complicated by a single issue involving Meghan Markle. The news comes as the **** ss reportedly misses her old life and loved ones in California. After six years in California, the Sussexes moved back to the UK in August 2026 with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Since returning to Britain, Prince Harry is reportedly carrying the major burden of making sure Meghan Markle feels at home. Per the Daily Express, sources are claiming that ensuring his wife settles in comfortably has become the Duke's biggest concern.
The "Suits" actress has previously spoken openly about her difficult time living in the UK. The couple even went on to make claims about the royal family in interviews and in Harry's memoir, "Spare."
Weighing in on her current situation, royal expert Duncan Larcombe suggests that Markle may now be going through what her husband experienced after relocating to the U.S. In conversation with New Magazine, he said, "Meghan's bound to feel homesick and be missing California and her friends, especially her mum Doria, because she has been the one constant in Meghan's life over the past few years. She'll feel the same way that Harry felt when he was out there."
Larcombe further explained that Prince Harry is under considerable pressure to help his wife settle in this time around. He reportedly wants her to genuinely connect with the UK, which did not happen during their previous stay. The royal commentator noted that the Duke will be keen for her to see Britain as a true home, which will be a significant undertaking.

Stocks are doing something that normally should not happen at the same time.
Major indexes keep closing at record highs even as Treasury yields climb to levels not seen in over two decades. That combination has traditionally meant trouble for expensive growth stocks, not fresh records.
Jim Cramer says there is a clear explanation for the disconnect. It comes down to just three companies carrying far more weight than their size alone would suggest.

"Mad Money" host Jim Cramer said Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta are propping up the broader market even as surging Treasury yields pressure nearly everything else on Wall Street. "Here, I think there's tremendous distortion caused by some very big winners, namely Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta," he said.

Jennifer Lopez has reportedly been warned that her feelings for Ben Affleck could end in "disaster." The former couple has always had a tumultuous relationship. They got engaged in 2002 but eventually called off their wedding. However, the pair reunited in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022.
They later split, and the singer filed for divorce in August 2024. Lopez's friends are reportedly worried that, if given the chance, she could get back together with Affleck, which they say would be a "disaster."
Jennifer Lopez is allegedly still attached to Ben Affleck, and that is concerning her inner circle. The couple has always had an on-and-off relationship. They got married in Las Vegas, and their divorce was finalized in early 2025. The "On the Floor" singer is currently single. However, a report by Heat World suggests that she may still be carrying feelings for her ex-husband.
The source said that Lopez keeps telling people that they are just friends and that she doesn't have any romantic feelings for him. However, it's allegedly easily noticeable that she is still very attached to the "Argo" actor. The source continued, " Most people in her world believe she'd jump at another chance with him, but there is no doubt it would end in disaster because they're just way too different."
According to the source, people close to them know that they are better off as friends. However, they also claim that Lopez hasn't fully accepted the fact that they cannot work as a couple. Meanwhile, Affleck is also focusing on himself rather than the dating game. A source said, "Ben says he's trying to better himself and part of that is being very intentional with who he's dating, which has meant a lot more time alone."

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday evening temporarily allowing the use of red-dyed diesel on public roads and deferring the federal excise tax on that fuel through the end of the year, a move aimed at lowering costs for truckers and farmers facing record-high diesel prices.
Red-dyed diesel is chemically the same product as standard highway diesel, but carries a red dye to mark it as off-road fuel — meaning it is not subject to the 24.4-cent-per-gallon federal excise tax that applies to diesel sold at the pump for road use, such as for tractors and heavy machinery. Using it in highway vehicles has been illegal, carrying penalties for tax evasion, according to CNBC.
According to the White House, the order instructs the Treasury Secretary to hold off on collecting federal excise taxes on highway use of dyed diesel between October 5 and December 31, 2026, and to do so without charging interest or imposing penalties. The Treasury is also directed to direct the Internal Revenue Service not to impose penalties for on-road use of dyed diesel during that period. The order further instructs officials to explore pathways, including legislation, to eliminate the deferred tax obligations entirely.
The White House projected that a trucker who tops off an 18-wheeler's tank with 250 gallons stands to save over $100 on a single fill-up, provided the trucker's state suspends its own diesel tax as well. On top of the federal levy, each state levies its own diesel excise tax, and those state-level taxes average out to 35.5 cents per gallon, according to CNN.
The order also directs the Secretary of Agriculture to coordinate with agricultural cooperatives and rural fuel distributors to ensure adequate dyed diesel distribution in high-demand areas, and the Secretary of Transportation to engage with state governments and industry stakeholders. The White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs was directed to encourage states to adopt corresponding policies.

A civilian cargo ship has sunk and its crew is missing after being attacked by drones in the Black Sea, Bulgarian officials say.
A second vessel - carrying grain - was also hit within Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone, Prime Minister Rumen Radev said. Its 18 crew were rescued.
Radev did not say who was behind the attacks, which come as Russia intensifies strikes in the Black Sea, particularly the eastern side, as part of its war against Ukraine.
Moscow has not commented on the latest incident, a day after it was accused by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of striking a civilian vessel carrying corn. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the attacks were "unacceptable".
Air and sea drones were involved in the attacks at about 03:00 (23:00 GMT), some 70 miles (112 km) off the coastal town of Byala in eastern Bulgaria, Radev said.

Usha Vance experienced a terrifying moment on October 5 when she stepped off a helicopter at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
The Second Lady nearly stumbled down the aircraft's metal steps while carrying her baby boy, Alec, who was securely strapped to her chest in a carrier.
The scary incident unfolded as Usha — who was accompanied by her family — prepared to board a flight to Alaska where the Vice President, JD Vance will speak at a Republican National Committee rally in support of Senator Dan Sullivan.
Usha suffered a close-call
She was juggling her two-month-old infant alongside a large bag when she appeared to lose her footing near the bottom of the staircase.

Second Lady Usha Vance's scary moment exiting a helicopter with her newborn has sparked a heated debate online. Fans raised concerns about the incident and questioned why no one stepped in to help.
Second Lady Usha Vance nearly stumbled while exiting the Marine Two helicopter at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Monday, Oct. 5, PEOPLE reported. She had 10-week-old son Alec Neel Vance strapped to her chest in a baby carrier. Vance also carried a large leather diaper bag as she descended the aircraft's staircase.
She grabbed the railing after missing a step and quickly regained her balance. She then turned back toward the helicopter's entrance to reassure those nearby. According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, Usha told nearby officers, "I'm okay, and he's fine… thank you" (via The Mirror).
Vice President JD Vance followed her down the stairs moments later. He carried their four-year-old daughter, Mirabel, and did not appear to notice the incident. The family traveled to Anchorage, Alaska, for a Republican National Committee rally supporting Senator Dan Sullivan's reelection campaign.
The video quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), sparking safety concerns and criticism. One user questioned why no one intervened, writing, "Did ******* ody notice that Usha Vance is carrying a 9-week-old baby and a huge leather diaper bag, and she nearly FALLS down the stairs of Marine 2? The Air Force officers didn't move to help her, and her husband barely even acknowledges her."

Three students were airlifted from the bus to the hospital.
A school bus filled with children rolled over in a multi-vehicle crash Monday morning in central Florida, killing two and injuring multiple others, according to authorities.
The bus was traveling to a high school and carrying 39 passengers, including 37 high schoolers, the bus driver and the driver's 9-year-old daughter, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a press conference Monday morning.
Two people died in the crash, including a tenth-grade girl on the bus and the driver of a Jeep involved in the crash, Judd said.
Five to seven trauma alerts were issued and multiple people are being treated at the hospital, including one in critical condition, according to Judd.

Leanna Lenee has quietly become just as much of a gameday fixture as her husband, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter, and once again, she gave fans exactly what they show up for.
Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars' matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, Leanna stepped out in a custom teal-and-blue halter top emblazoned with "HUNTER" and the number 12 across the chest, paired with sleek black high-waisted pants featuring a cutout detail along the thigh. Her son matched her look almost piece for piece, dressed in a mini Jaguars romper carrying his father's name and number on the back. Leanna captioned the post simply: "Next question."
That two-word caption did little to slow down the response. However, this isn't the first time Leanna's gameday look has taken over the timeline either. Just weeks earlier, ahead of Jacksonville's matchup against the New England Patriots, she turned heads in a dusty blue bodycon dress covered in Jaguars patches, a jersey-number detail, and white cowboy boots, once again dressing her son in a coordinating fit down to the shoes. Fans' response then was nearly identical, with one commenter telling her outright she had "the cutest NFL wifey clothes," a sentiment that's clearly carried straight through to this latest appearance.
There was also plenty happening on the football side for the Hunter family to celebrate.
Fashion moments off the field are stealing the spotlight as much as the action on it. Subscribe to stay updated on the personalities and style that define NFL gamedays.

Craft stores are generally reserved for browsing yarn aisles on quiet Sunday afternoons and overspending on seasonal holiday decor. But every so often, retail chaos infiltrates their quiet corners in the face of a shoplifter or a drunkard. Or maybe, both.
In a TikTok storytime, creator Madi Max (soft.cuddlebunny) looked back on her days working retail at Joann Fabrics. She specifically recounted an incident of an intoxicated shoplifter trying to play Romeo and criminal mastermind at the same time. The result? The local craft hub turned into an accidental slapstick comedy routine.
The hilarious routine started as an unhinged flirtation attempt. But it ended with dozens of stolen markers across the linoleum floor and the furious perp screaming from the back of a police cruiser.
According to Max, the incident kicked off when a man stumbled through the automatic sliding doors carrying an open, uncovered liquor bottle. He was allegedly actively taking swigs as he roamed the aisles. But rather than laying low, he allegedly zeroed in on Max's coworker.
The man was reportedly nursing an unprompted, aggressive crush and loudly peppering the coworker with wildly inappropriate remarks. At one point, he allegedly started pointing at rolls of material, declaring that she would look stunning in lingerie made out of the textiles.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee governor ordered an outside investigation and halted executions late Wednesday, hours after an inmate survived a lethal injection attempt.
Tennessee officials were unable to put Christa Gail Pike to death for a 1995 murder after administering two doses of a lethal drug. A death penalty expert said it was an unprecedented failure.
Gov. Bill Lee said in a statement that he has ordered "a comprehensive, third-party review to determine exactly what occurred" and that scheduled executions will not be carried out this year.
"Carrying out a lawfully imposed sentence is among the State's most serious responsibilities, and the people of Tennessee expect it to be done in a manner that is not only legal and constitutional, but is effective," he said.
Tennessee only has one other execution scheduled this year.

Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:LIND) announced on September 15 that it had acquired 60% of White Desert Antarctica and its new aviation travel business, Echo Charlie. Consideration comprises approximately $61 million in cash, plus approximately $6 million relating to acquired cash, subject to working-capital, cash, and indebtedness adjustments.
The purchase broadens the travel portfolio beyond expedition cruises. For investors, the test is whether additional bookings and cash generation justify the acquisition price and subsequent investment.
White Desert takes guests into Antarctica's interior, including the Geographic South Pole. Echo Charlie offers journeys aboard a restored DC-3 aircraft carrying 12 guests. These experiences add distinctive products that Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:LIND) could market to existing adventure travelers.
Cross-selling could reduce marketing costs per booking and encourage repeat travel across the portfolio. Established customer relationships provide a starting point; the financial benefit depends on generating additional profitable departures.
The company already operates a growing land-travel business. Second-quarter Land Experiences revenue increased 23% to $70.0 million, driven by additional trips and higher pricing. That provides a relevant commercial foundation for the expansion.

On September 16, Air Products (NYSE:APD) said it had signed a long-term deal to supply high-purity gases to a leading chipmaker, backed by roughly $250 million of its own money in Arizona. It is the company's second semiconductor supply win, and the two projects together carry more than $900 million of investment. That is a notable turn for a company that has been pulling back from big clean-energy projects.
The Arizona project plays to what Air Products already does. It will build, own, and operate the equipment, from hydrogen generation units and carbon dioxide purification to bulk supply for three gases: helium, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. That means the customer's gas supply runs through equipment Air Products owns. Supply is targeted to start in phases, so the buildout can move alongside the customer's expansion plans. And this is familiar ground. Air Products has supplied electronics makers for more than 40 years, and its Chandler facility has served the Phoenix chip cluster since 1981, with a pipeline system carrying ultra-high purity nitrogen around the area.
The core business gives the deal a solid floor. In the fiscal third quarter, reported on July 30, adjusted earnings per share rose 12% to $3.47, and management lifted its full-year outlook to an adjusted $13.39 to $13.49 per share. Margins widened as well, so growth is showing up as profit. Chips appear elsewhere in the results too, since the company announced a deal to build four large air separation units to serve a chipmaker's growth in Taiwan.
The cost of the pivot is hard to ignore. On June 30, Air Products announced it would not go ahead with its Louisiana Clean Energy Complex and would discontinue a zero-carbon liquid hydrogen facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, plus other smaller clean energy distribution projects. The exits triggered roughly $2.9 billion in pre-tax charges, which is why the company posted a GAAP loss of $6.47 per share in the third quarter even as its underlying earnings grew. Adjusted results leave that hit out, but the GAAP numbers show what the retreat cost.
Owning the ****** ets also means funding them. Air Products expects about $3.5 billion of capital spending in fiscal 2026, and the Arizona plant alone is a commitment of approximately $250 million, with supply arriving in phases. The release also leaves gaps: it does not name the customer or say how long the contract runs, so the length of the revenue stream is unclear. Elsewhere, Europe's operating income rose only 2% as costs climbed, and management says it is still cautious about the economic backdrop.

For the record:
1:38 p.m. Sept. 19, 2026: An earlier version of this article stated KCAL's helicopter is owned by Angel City Air. It is owned by Helicopters Inc.
Whether it's a brush fire, a mass shooting, a car chase or the aftermath of a major storm, viewers in Los Angeles are used to getting the news from above.
Television news helicopter coverage has become one of the most important elements of any local newscast, with the high-flying helicopters roaring overhead a common fixture of breaking news scenes.
These images are so ubiquitous, it may have been easy to take them for granted, until Tuesday, when an NBC4 helicopter carrying reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw crashed while covering breaking news in Chatsworth. Both died, along with a bystander on the ground.
The tragedy has prompted soul-searching in the world of TV news helicopter pilots and focused attention on safety issues.

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh has revealed himself. If not a card-carrying monetarist, he is at least a camp follower. This represents a dramatic change at the Fed, where the past Chairman Jerome Powell repeatedly rejected the basic tenets of monetarism.
This is a welcomed earthquake. After all, there are almost no monetarists left in the world (except for us, and we've been fighting a lonely rearguard action for over 40 years). The Federal Reserve has rejected monetarism consistently — and on the record — because it preferred other models for understanding the economy. In academia, monetarism has been out of fashion for decades. But by his own words, a monetarist is now leading the central bank.
Just what is monetarism? It's a doctrine which holds that money has a major influence on both the level of ***** et prices, economic activity, and the price level. Any discussion of national income determination must, therefore, center on the quantity of money and the banking system, since banks produce most of the money in modern economies. When it comes to monetary policy, its objectives are best met by targeting the rate of growth of the money supply.
Today, most economists pooh-pooh monetarism. Money and banking are nowhere to be found in their macroeconomic models, or their discourses about the course of ***** et prices, economic activity, and prices. Indeed, their forecasting exercises are typically based on elaborations of Keynesian income-expenditure models that exclude money and banking.
If that's not enough, we think that the Fed's backroom staff, mostly Keynesian-leaning Democrats, don't want alignment with a philosophy usually affiliated with Milton Friedman, but that's another story. Just look at what Joe Biden said in 2020 about how the dean of monetarism wasn't "running the show anymore."

On August 19, Ferrovial (NASDAQ:FER) announced it had been selected to deliver the I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes, a 26-mile project running between Nashville and Murfreesboro. It is the largest single capital investment in Tennessee's history and the state's first public-private partnership. The price tag is $9.2 billion, though Ferrovial isn't carrying it alone, since its DriveTN consortium also counts Transurban and Tikehau Star Infra as partners.
Choice lanes are familiar ground for Ferrovial, which has replicated the model in Washington, D.C., Charlotte and Dallas-Fort Worth. On Virginia's 66 Express corridor, similar lanes shaved up to 50% off peak-hour travel times. That is the pitch for I-24, a stretch of highway that already ranks among the region's most jammed: drivers who opt in get steadier speeds, and those in the free lanes should see less traffic too.
The business behind the bid looks healthy, too. Ferrovial's July 28 results showed adjusted EBITDA up 21.6% on a like-for-like basis to €746 million over the first six months of the year, with U.S. highways doing most of the lifting. Those roads are sending cash home as well, since Ferrovial received €357 million in dividends from North America. And the construction order book reached an all-time high of €18 billion, so plenty of work is already in hand. The pipeline keeps filling: Ferrovial bid on I-285 East in Georgia in July, and its D35 Highway bid in the Czech Republic was the most cost-effective submitted, with technical evaluation still underway.
Beyond the roads, the balance sheet looks sturdy. Ferrovial ended the first half with €1.3 billion in net cash, excluding infrastructure projects, meaning cash outweighs debt outside those projects. The airport arm is progressing too: Ferrovial has finished funding the $1.1 billion in equity it pledged for New Terminal One at JFK, and construction there is 92% complete.
Start with the line that looks worst on the page. Net profit for the first half of 2026 came in at €258 million, versus €540 million for the same period of 2025. That earlier figure included capital gains from ******* et rotation, which makes the comparison harsh, but the mismatch is still there: EBITDA climbed while reported profit fell.

Margin debt hit $1.45 trillion in August, up 140% since 2022 and outpacing the S&P 500's 98% gain, which leaves the market carrying far more forced-selling risk.
At roughly 4.5% of GDP, margin debt now exceeds the dot-com bubble's peak, meaning a routine correction could cascade into broker-forced liquidations across the market.
The real danger isn't high leverage itself but the simultaneous forced selling that erupts when overleveraged investors all need cash at once.
Just released. Our ***** ysts combed the entire stock market and named the ten best stocks to buy right now. The report is free. Enter your email and see if any of your stocks made the cut.
The longer-term comparison is even more striking. Since the end of 2022 -- and the start of the current AI-dominated era -- investor borrowing has increased by $847 billion, or 140%, versus a 98% gain for the S&P 500 over the same period. That means leverage has grown faster than the market value investors have accumulated, presumably as they took on debt to buy into the AI boom.

Google on Friday disclosed the first known instance of its artificial intelligence software, Gemini, carrying out an undirected computer hack, weeks after similar disclosures by AI firms Anthropic and OpenAI raised security alarms about AI models going beyond the instructions of their human creators.
Google said in a statement that in May its AI model gained unauthorized access to three outside systems during a test by either guessing login information or using login credentials it found in a public repository.
Heather Adkins, a Google vice president for security engineering, said in the statement that the AI model thought that the outside computer systems “were part of the test,” but she said in all three instances, the model stopped before doing anything further with its access.
“In a standard evaluation, the model found public information online and guessed credentials to access websites it thought were part of the test,” she said.

The intelligence report, circulated across the US military this spring in the midst of the war with Iran, immediately set off alarm bells: A Chinese ship in the Middle East was transporting components of a nuclear weapons program.
The US military swung into action with plans to intercept the vessel, according to four sources familiar with the episode. According to two of the sources, armed members of the US military were preparing to board the ship. Military planes were in the air, one of those sources and another source familiar with the incident said.
It was only just before the planned operation that officials dug deeper into the report put together by a special operations command ****** yst and found it had been generated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) — and that a chatbot the ****** yst had used inaccurately identified the material the ship was carrying. CNN was not able to learn what the misidentified cargo was.
The report, according to one of the sources, was “entirely false.” But it also “almost started a war,” the source said. Any US operation against a Chinese vessel could have risked spiraling into an armed conflict between the two nations.
Across the US military and the intelligence community, officials are pushing to weave AI into nearly every facet of their work, from ****** yzing the huge volumes of raw intelligence the US collects and selecting targets for strikes, to more mundane applications like managing budgeting, logistics and supply chains.

CAIRO (AP) — Hundreds of thousands of Iranians rallied Friday in a government-organized show of defiance after months of war, pledging their readiness to take up arms in the biggest such demonstration since the United States and Israel attacked in February.
Iran's government has sought to rally the people and stress national unity, even as the economy worsens under a U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports and new U.S. sanctions. On Friday, it claimed another attack on a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway it has sought to control since the start of the war.
Estimates varied of the number of people volunteering to receive limited military training and defend the country in an effort described as "Janfaday-e Iran," or the "ones who sacrifice their lives for Iran." They marched through downtown Tehran in combat uniform, carrying flags, as onlookers cheered.
For days, state media have encouraged Iranians to join the campaign, saying training with **** ault rifles would begin soon. The volunteers would be an additional layer of security to the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard and the Basij militia, which has played a key role in quashing anti-government protests.
Tehran's Guard chief, Gen. Hassan Hassanzadeh, told the state broadcaster that over 600,000 people had registered to participate, with over 1 million expected to take part in the training. On Friday morning, the broadcaster estimated over 300,000 people were on the streets.

In the second quarter, Toast's revenue grew 23% to reach roughly $1.91 billion. Meanwhile, the business posted net income of $154 million in the period -- good for a margin of roughly 80.7%. The company's payments business once again did the heavy lifting in driving profits, but the picture is also more nuanced.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
In the second quarter, the financial technology solutions segment that includes Toast's payments business accounted for $1.57 billion of its overall sales in the period -- roughly 82.2% of the total pie. While the segment's total cost of revenue accounted for roughly $1.21 billion of the total $1.39 billion cost of sales in the quarter, it was still central to the business's gross profit of roughly $516 million in the quarter.
Notably, the company's hardware and professional services segment had a substantially negative gross margin in Q2. While the unit posted revenue of roughly $48 million in the period, it had a cost of revenue of $116 million -- and that doesn't factor in operating expenses for the segment.

Generating $2,200 monthly in dividends requires between $264,000 at a 10% yield and $754,000 at a 3.5% yield, with higher yields carrying greater principal erosion risk.
A blended portfolio of SCHD (35%), DGRO (25%), VYM (20%), and JEPI (20%) hits a 3.9% weighted yield requiring about $670,000 to reach the $2,200 target.
A 3.5% yield growing 8% annually doubles income in roughly nine years, while a flat 10% yield stays stagnant or declines if distributions are cut.

Turning zero into $2,200 a month in dividend income requires only two things: a target yield and the capital to support it. The annualized goal is $26,400, which lands somewhere between covering a mortgage payment and replacing a part-time salary. The capital needed depends entirely on the yield you choose, and the yield you choose determines how durable that income actually is.

Caterpillar (CAT) trades around $780. The market puts roughly a two-in-three chance that the stock finishes somewhere between about $525 and about $1,170 a year from now. That is not a forecast of direction. It is the size of the swing a holder is already carrying, and Caterpillar's own record says it is no exaggeration.
Measured from around $780, the floor of that range sits roughly a third below today's price and the ceiling close to half again above it. The extra room on the upside is arithmetic, not optimism. A stock cannot fall below zero and can rise without limit, so the upper end is always the longer one. There is also roughly a one-in-six chance of finishing above the band, and the same chance of finishing below it.
A third of the money in the position can go, and the band's low end is not the worst case. The same market pricing that drop is pricing a larger gain on the other side. The size of your position decides how much of that drop, or that gain, you actually feel.
None of that width is theoretical here. Caterpillar returned 83% over the past twelve months, against about 17% for the S&P 500, and it still trades about 26% below its 52-week high. Both of those belong to the same year. A stock that can do both is the kind an options market prices this wide.
Implied volatility of 39.9% is running level with the 40.0% the stock has actually delivered over the trailing year. The market is quoting the recent past forward rather than charging extra for fear. What could make the year ahead different sits inside the business.
