Florida exempts a $600,000 IRA from Medicaid's $2,000 ***** et limit once the account enters payout status through RMDs or regular distributions.
Every IRA distribution counts as income against Florida's $2,982 monthly cap, and nearly all of it goes directly to the nursing home.
A named IRA beneficiary keeps the remaining balance out of probate, blocking Florida's estate recovery claim under Fla. Stat. § 409.9101.

A Florida retiree entering long-term care with $600,000 in her IRA looks like an automatic Medicaid denial. A single applicant there can't hold more than $2,000 in countable ***** ets. Thankfully, Florida's IRA Medicaid rules leave a narrow opening: once a retirement account is in payout status, the state can exclude the balance from the ***** et count. This means withdrawals still count, each distribution is treated as income, and that income ends up paying most of her nursing home bill.

In fantasy football, you have to look back to move forward. Fantasy points are the goal, but how a player gets there is the key. Yahoo ******* yst Joel Smyth breaks down 11 usage notes from Week 1 in order to win your matchup in Week 2 and beyond.

Of routes run in Week 1 for Dalton Kincaid, higher than any mark in 2025. This is good for most TEs, but incredible and notable for Kincaid. As a first-round TE talent, Kincaid has been limited throughout his career due to run blocking and injuries. Last season before his knee injury, he was right at 60% of the routes, good enough to be a mid-level TE1, although not ideal. After the injury, it dropped to 44%. If a ~70% route share holds, Kincaid can be the TE value of the year. His yards per route were top-three in the NFL (not just TE) and he is a part of one of the best offenses in the league. He had a nice start to the season with 130 receiving yards against the Texans defense.
The RB target split for Bucky Irving compared to Kenny Gainwell in Week 1 (and would've been eight without penalties). Gainwell was a backup RB that wasn't a focus of the offense, with only 18% of snaps resulting in a touch (Irving: 47%). Not to mention, Irving got both red-zone carries, one resulting in a touchdown. Sean Tucker is still out for now, but Irving looks to be a workhorse RB with elite receiving potential.
Gold opportunities for Chuba Hubbard: two red-zone targets and a goal-line attempt. They're the best opportunities for a touchdown for a RB, and it resulted in two here. Chicago's defense may need some help, but the workload should keep him as a weekly play as long as he holds off Jonathon Brooks. With 71% of the RB touches, anybody can have value. Before his injury last season, Hubbard began the 2025 season with nearly 20 touches per game over the first few weeks. I trust the stability of his volume going into Week 2 as a central role of the red-zone offense.

What did Pro Football Focus make of the New Orleans Saints' season-opening loss to the Detroit Lions? PFF's unique grading system leaves a lot to be desired as far as valuable ****** ysis, but it's a good starting point for highlighting which players pulled their weight and which performances deserve more scrutiny. With the Saints having fought their into overtime after stumbling out of the gates, let's check in on the best and worst player grades on offense and defense after Week 1.
WR Chris Olave: 82.6. Olave wasn't as effective blocking on run plays as he'd like to be, but that's nearly the only negative about his game (he did also drop a pass deep downfield early on). He caught 10 of 13 targets for a career-high 182 receiving yards, went 2-of-4 on contested catches, and converted seven first downs. His 30 yards gained after the catch were also impressive.
TE Noah Fant: 79.6. Fant had some miscues -- Shough overthrew and underthrew him a few times as the pair worked to get in sync -- but you can see why the ball continued to go his way. Fant picked up almost half of his yardage after the catch and looked comfortable while drawing targets in traffic.
QB Tyler Shough: 75.0. How impressive is it that Shough clawed his way back up the list after starting so poorly? PFF had him with six "big time throws" this week, as many as the next two quarterbacks combined, which they define as "a pass with excellent ball location and timing, generally thrown further down the field and/or into a tighter window." He just needs to cut down on the turnover-worthy plays, sacks, and penalties. That's easier said than done but should come with experience.
TE Juwan Johnson: 73.4. Johnson was the team's highest-rated run blocker (75.1), and while he didn't see many targets until late in the game, he made them count by going 3-of-6 for 54 yards and a critical touchdown. He also forced the Lions defense into committing a costly coverage penalty early on.

The John Harbaugh era got off to a rousing start last night with the New York Giants defeating the division rival Dallas Cowboys 28-20 at a raucous MetLife Stadium. (When was the last time "raucous" and "MetLife" appeared in the same sentence about a Giants game?) Let's see what the **** ysts at Pro Football Focus thought of the individual player performances.
Focusing first on the passing, Jaxson Dart's 23 of 29, 230-yard, 3 TD, 0 INT performance was given a grade of…65.8, smack in the middle of their "average" range. I'm sure fans will take Dart's highly efficient game, as evidenced by his excellent 134.2 NFL passer rating last night, every week. PFF, though, grades on degree of difficulty and taking care of the ball. Dart didn't have any interceptions, but in PFF's eyes he had two turnover-worthy plays, which they see as being just as bad. He also did not have any "big-time," throws, i.e., **** placed accurately into tight windows and especially those that go deep downfield for explosive plays. Dart only threw three **** beyond 20 yards and only completed one. To quote Seinfeld, "Not that there's anything wrong with that," but that's what PFF values. Dart did what he had to do to win the game. In the long run, he'll have to show that he can hurt opposing defenses deep on a consistent basis, but for one game the short-range passing game was just fine.
Let's look at the effect of pressure:
Dart was an amazing 19 of 22 when kept clean, including all three of his TD passes. When pressured he was 4 of 7 for 57 yards, but both of his TWPs came under pressure.
Moving on to the pass blocking:

Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears enjoyed an incredible offensive performance in their 59-37 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon. However, they are keeping their eye on the ball with some issues they must address as the 2026 campaign is underway.
Williams filled up the stat sheet as he enjoyed his activity in the offense. He completed 21 out of 29 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns while racking up 10 rushes for 65 yards and two touchdowns.
Williams reflected on the performance after the game, per reporter Chris Emma. He surprisingly said this game will be the team's worst as he anticipates stronger displays throughout the coming weeks this year.
"That's who we want to be this week. We got to go clean up. We want to be truthers. Obviously, this is going to be our kind of worst game. I know points don't necessarily show that, but execution, the blocking, the penalties, all these different things," Williams said.

It wasn't pretty, but Arizona volleyball found a way to end its five-game losing streak with a victory over Oregon State on Saturday. The Wildcats won 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 27-25) at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
"It was necessary for us to win that match," said Arizona head coach Rita Stubbs.
It was a struggle throughout. Arizona had difficulty scoring and Oregon State had success against the Wildcats' block. While Arizona had nine blocks, it also had four blocking errors on the day. The Wildcats only had nine blocking errors in seven matches this season prior to Saturday.
Things were tight in the sets Arizona won. The Beavers took a late lead in all three before Arizona came back. The third set, which Oregon State won, was even less competitive than the 25-16 score suggested. The Wildcats persevered and Stubbs used her bench when she needed to.
Destiny Ndam-Simpson leads the Wildcats with 3.42 kills per set this season, but Saturday wasn't her day. The Beavers kept her in check, regularly taking her out of the play with their serve. She received 24 serves despite being subbed out halfway through the third set and not returning. Only Carlie Cisneros with 25 receptions in four sets was targeted more. Four of the Beavers' seven aces were charged to Ndam-Simpson.

Tennessee football fell behind in the first quarter of its game at Georgia Tech on Sept. 12 when a punt was blocked and returned for a touchdown at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.
On fourth-and-11 from the Vols' 24-yard line, fifth-year punter Jackson Ross hesitated before stepping into his punt. Georgia Tech's Trae Stevenson Jr. took advantage of the extra moment and rushed Ross, blocking his kick.

The ball rolled around near Tennessee's goal line before it was scooped up by Elgin Sessions for a Yellow Jackets touchdown, putting them up 7-3 with 5:49 left in the first quarter.
It was the second straight week Georgia Tech scored a special teams touchdown after returning a kickoff for a score against Colorado in Week 1.

After examining the Jacksonville Jaguars' final injury report of Week 1, where do the Cleveland Browns stand health-wise entering this game?
On Friday afternoon, the Browns ruled out guard Teven Jenkins (back) and listed center Parker Brailsford (thumb) as questionable.
Jenkins made four starts last year in his first season with Cleveland and was slated to start at right guard in 2026. Expected to start in Jenkins' place is rookie Austin Barber -- a third-round pick by the Browns.
Andrew Harbaugh of Browns Wire recently provided some insight into what Barber can bring to the Browns' offensive line unit:
"Barber didn't play guard at Florida, so it's a new position for him after logging 2,087 snaps at left tackle and 490 snaps at right tackle during his time with the Gators," wrote Harbaugh. "He brings a nasty temperament to the run game, looking to finish guys by blocking them into the dirt."

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Austin Simmons threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, Robert Woodyard Jr. produced back-to-back second-half turnovers to help Missouri take control, and the No. 23 Tigers beat Kansas 38-21 on Friday night in the latest edition of the Border War.
Jamal Roberts ran for 125 yards and a touchdown, and Donovan Olugbode and Cayden Lee caught TD passes, helping the Tigers (2-0) beat their biggest rival for the fifth straight time in their first trip across the state line since Oct. 29, 2005.
It was tied 14-all early in the second half when Woodyard fell on Kansas quarterback Isaiah Marshall's fumble, and Simmons quickly found Olugbode for the go-ahead touchdown. On the Jayhawks' next offensive play, Woodyard faded into the secondary and was there to pick off Marshall's pass, setting up Xai'Shaun Edwards' touchdown run.
Marshall finished with 168 yards passing, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Jayhawks (1-1), who haven't beaten Missouri since Nov. 29, 2008. The sophomore quarterback also carried 20 times for just 23 yards.
Kansas jumped on the Tigers early, just as it did last season in Columbia, when a series that went on hiatus after the Tigers' departure for the SEC finally resumed after more than a decade. This time around, the Jayhawks capitalized on Missouri miscues: four false start penalties in the first half alone, blown blocking ****** ignments and two blocked field-goal attempts.

TORRINGTON - Watching Nick Coleman and Kevin Leavitt run the ball for the Torrington football team in Friday night's season-opening 21-0 win over Kennedy, you might think they've been sharing the Raiders' backfield duties for ages, rather than being just the latest stars to shine in Torrington's single-wing galaxy.
When Coleman ran the ball - which he did 21 times for 160 yards and three touchdowns - there was Leavitt out ahead throwing a crisp block. When Leavitt ran the ball - which he did for 58 yards on 11 carries - there was Coleman doing the same.
They complemented each other as naturally as peanut **** er and jelly, Damon and Affleck, or - as their coach notes - thunder and lightning.
"We embrace (blocking)," said Coleman, a senior. "Single-wing offense, that's what it's about. There's no player above blocking, even if you're the quarterback, the tailback, whatever. You've got to go and make a block."
"I'd do anything for (Coleman). If I have to make a block, I'm doing whatever I can for him," Leavitt, a sophomore, said.

With the first game of the Cleveland Browns season just a couple of days away, they made it official on Friday that rookie offensive lineman Austin Barber would be the team's starter at right guard on Sunday when they open the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Veteran offensive lineman Teven Jenkins was slated to be the team's starting right guard this season, but an injury will hold him out of at least this week's game. Barber didn't play guard at Florida, so it's a new position for him after logging 2,087 snaps at left tackle and 490 snaps at right tackle during his time with the Gators.
Barber was a surprising pick at 86 overall for the Browns, but now they are asking him to start right away, and his experience will be something he needs to lean on, even at a new position on the offensive line. He brings a nasty temperament to the run game, looking to finish guys by blocking them into the dirt; maybe the Browns lucked their way into another Wyatt Teller-style player at the right guard position.

Sept 8 (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday upheld an injunction blocking an Internal Revenue Service policy that allowed it to share thousands of taxpayers' addresses with immigration authorities, saying the Trump administration's practice violated federal law.
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that the IRS last year disclosed roughly 47,000 taxpayer addresses to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under a procedure adopted as part of the administration's efforts to expand immigration enforcement.
The IRS and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, did not respond to requests for comment.
Under an agreement between the agencies, the IRS in July 2025 began processing ICE requests for the last known addresses of as many as 1.28 million people suspected of unlawfully residing in the United States.

Willie Lampkin projects as a backup center for the Philadelphia Eagles, but special teams could provide the rookie with another path onto the active game-day roster.
Special teams coordinator Michael Clay believes Lampkin's unique size, strength, and movement skills make him an appealing option for several units. The former North Carolina standout is undersized by traditional NFL offensive line standards, but his compact build allows him to play with natural leverage.
Those traits could translate to field-goal protection and other blocking responsibilities. Lampkin must first earn a spot among Philadelphia's active players on Sundays. NFL teams generally carry only a limited number of reserve offensive linemen on game day, and those backups must provide flexibility beyond one position. Cam Jurgens is established as the starting center, while rookie Drew Kendall also provides depth inside. Lampkin's ability to handle center duties and contribute on special teams would give the coaching staff another reason to dress him.
Philadelphia has previously found special teams responsibilities for reserve linemen, particularly players with the athleticism to move in ***** e and the strength to handle power rushers.
Lampkin's size will remain part of the evaluation, but Clay sees potential value rather than only a limitation. If the rookie can become dependable in the kicking game, he could strengthen his chances of remaining active while continuing his development as an interior offensive lineman.

The Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers are ready to renew their annual rivalry, this time with both team's kicking off their season in Melbourne, Australia. While the location has many excited about the game, along with the rivalry's intensity, these three storylines are ones to watch.
This is a multi-layered question due to Kyle Shanahan's offensive brilliance, along with how his scheme has populated the league. The immediate questions revolve around the Rams' defense and whether they have the tools to contain Shanahan's zone-blocking scheme. On top of that, do they have the ability to stop Shanahan's layered passing attack, in which he uses short underneath passes to open up the rest of the field?
Schematics aside, the Seahawks and Cardinals also utilize Shanahan's offensive scheme, as their offensive play-callers are ex-Shanahan ****** istants.
Then, we have to account for Shanahan's tactical brilliance. If I'm Shanahan, I'm using the early portions of the game to figure out how the Rams match up against San Francisco's multi-tight end personnel, and once Chris Shula deploys multiple linebackers, the 49ers should use a fast-tempo offense to take advantage of the Rams' linebackers having to cover ****** e while depleting their energy, with the Rams being unable to substitute.
Shanahan has tricks like that in his bag to control the pen. Is Shula finally wise enough not to fall for it?

The Iowa football program has always prided itself on a strong running game led by a tough offensive line and gritty backs. Even though football has evolved into more of a passing sport, Kirk Ferentz hasn't forgotten the fundamentals of what he's built his program on.
That was evident in the Hawkeyes' 2026 season opener on Saturday.
Iowa established the run game early and often in its 40-0 win over Northern Illinois. The Hawkeyes finished the game with 38 carries for 289 yards, averaging 7.6 yards per carry. They also had two rushing touchdowns, which both came in the first quarter courtesy of fourth-year running back Kamari Moulton.
Moulton opened 2026 with a 50-yard score behind pristine blocking from the offensive line. A few minutes later, he added a 37-yard touchdown run to his ledger, once again following some fantastic blocks. By the time the first quarter came to an end, Moulton had already rushed for over 130 yards.
Kamari Moulton has 6 carries for 132 yards and 2 TD’s today. It’s still the first quarter. pic.twitter.com/qJsJGwszdC

The Wisconsin Badgers fell short 41-13 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a competitive first game of the season at Lambeau Field, inspiring confidence for 2026 while showing the key areas of improvement needed.
The Badgers kept Notre Dame in check through the first 30 minutes, trailing 13-10 at halftime, and continued to fight throughout the game, although an early third-quarter stretch from the Fighting Irish was the leading force to them winning the game.
Wisconsin started with the ball, but had a quick three-and-out, as they were stuffed on first down and couldn't recover. The defense had a strong opening drive, though, as the run defense started off on a good note and Sebastian Cheeks got home on a strip sack on Notre Dame's first third down, but the Fighting Irish recovered.
Wisconsin blocked the punt, getting field position in plus territory, and that led to the first points of the game. Wisconsin had a nice Abu Sama III run on 3rd & 6 with good blocking and got to the red zone, where they eventually settled for a field goal.
Notre Dame overcame tough field position on its next drive, converting a fourth down, while finding a hole in Wisconsin's off coverage to the field side with a couple of short passes. They eventually got into field goal range and drilled a 52-yarder to tie the game up there after the defense got a stop.

Florida running back Jadan Baugh ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns in the Gators' season-opening win over FAU on Saturday night.
He spoke to the press after the game and discussed his 61-yard run, the benefits of playing at a lighter weight and the importance of Florida's perimeter blocking. He also explained the Heisman poses he struck after scoring and what he saw while breaking into the open field.
The junior also shared his thoughts on Aaron Philo's first start, Florida's faster offensive operation and his growing role as a leader.
Here's everything Baugh had to say.
It felt great to me, honestly. Just being in The Swamp, seeing the fans and hearing how loud it gets. Early in the game, it got very loud, and I looked back at the stands like, "Wow, that's crazy."

The battle between No. 13 Maryland field hockey and No. 6 Duke was everything fans could've asked for, as the former ACC foes went toe-to-toe on a neutral site for 70 minutes and into a shootout.
Thanks to a late goal from freshman Ella Beach and three consecutive shootout saves from goalkeeper Alyssa Klebasko, the Terps stunned the Blue Devils, 3-2, to move to 4-0 on the season.
Duke had the first major chance just three minutes into the match, as Shae Wozniak received a centering pass just on the doorsteps of the goal. The attempt was denied by Klebasko, who dropped into a split and made a kick save with her left blocker.
Once again, penalty corners were a major theme throughout the game. Maryland had a pair of them right off the bat, but Duke set the tone by blocking a pair of hits from Feliz Kuhne.
On the other side, Duke earned a pair of penalty corners two minutes later and broke through on the second attempt. While the Blue Devils botched the initial insert, they quickly recovered and sent another centering pass towards the middle where Ashley Stockdale tipped the ball past Klebasko to put the Blue Devils ahead.

Division III powerhouse Mount Union lost its first regular-season game since 2016 on Saturday.
The Purple Raiders fell 24-23 to Wheaton in their 2026 season-opener after Wheaton blocked a game-tying extra point with 22 seconds to go. Mount Union's Kayden Minner scored on a 1-yard run ahead of the failed extra point, and the Purple Raiders elected to go for the tie and potential overtime instead of what could have been a game-winning two-point conversion.
After blocking the PAT, Wheaton then recovered Mount Union's onside kick.
The loss snapped a regular-season win streak that lasted 85 games. Before Saturday, the last time Mount Union lost a non-playoff game was on Nov. 12, 2016, when John Carroll scored a 31-28 win. Most of the members of that Mount Union team are now in their 30s.
Mount Union made the semifinals of the D3 playoffs that season and won the 2017 national ****** le with a 15-0 season. Since then, the team has, remarkably, not won a national championship as the regular-season win streak lived on. Over the past six full seasons, Mount Union has lost the Stagg Bowl three times and was eliminated in the third round of the Division III playoffs in 2025 after an 11-0 start.

The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up to take on the New England Patriots for a Week 1 rematch of Super Bowl LX from this past February. Seattle will look to begin defending their crown the same way they earned it: by defeating the Patriots.
In the Seahawks' triumphant 29-13 blowout win over New England, one of the key players was tight end AJ Barner. The former Michigan star, who was primarily a blocking tight end during his days with the Wolverines, caught the lone offensive touchdown for Seattle that night. According to Barner, he is feeling confident, both mentally and physically, regarding his health going into the 2026 season.
Barner was asked about his health during a post practice press conference, and he gave an answer that every 12th Man will want to hear.
Barner is a critical cog in the Seahawks' offensive machine, and expect him to have an increased role as he enters his third season. Seattle's big man caught 52 receptions for 519 yards and six touchdowns last season - improving in all categories from his rookie year. With new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury's background in coaching the San Francisco 49ers' tight ends for the last several seasons, you simply must figure that Barner is in line for plenty of targets again this season.
Seattle kicks off on Wednesday night against New England on NBC at 5:20 pm Pacific Time.

Whether you know her as Victoria "Vic" Hughes on the ABC procedural drama "Station 19" or Emily Henderson on Netflix's adaptation of "Little House on the Prairie," Barrett Doss is a familiar face on small screens. Now, if you've wondered what the leading ladies of Netflix's "Little House on the Prairie" look like in real life, we're here to tell you that Doss is not only beautiful but also incredibly fashionable.
The actor, who had her breakthrough on an episode of the sitcom "30 Rock" in 2013, has attended numerous industry events over the years, and at all of them her bold fashion choices have been at the center of attention. While minimalist and neutral clothing tends to look great on many, Doss has shown over the years that she prefers a loud and colorful 'fit. From neon pantsuits to eye-catching colorblocking, here are some of the star's best fashion moments over the years.

Barrett Doss showed up to a May 2019 event held by Entertainment Weekly and People in New York City in a fun periwinkle-blue number. The silhouette instantly reminds us of the dress trend of the '60s, which has since made a comeback. However, unlike classic mod dresses, Doss' featured long sleeves. The actor paired the piece with white boots and red lips, leaning into the retro aesthetic even more. Allowing her curly hair to shine, Doss drew attention to it with statement earrings, completing the fun red carpet look.

The Colorado Buffaloes opened the 2026 college football season with an impressive upset victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Thursday night.
After falling behind 13-7 with fewer than two minutes left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Buffaloes quarterback Julian Lewis led his team on an eight play, 75-yard touchdown drive to give Colorado a 14-13 lead. The defense came up equally as clutch, blocking a last-second field goal attempt as Deion Sanders' team escaped with victory.
Sanders, meanwhile, remains one of the most polarizing personalities in the game of college football.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Offensive linemen rarely receive much promotion or have preseason marketing campaigns built around them.
However, with three NFL draft candidates, the University of Cincinnati is trying to change that.
Left guard Evan Tengesdahl, left tackle Joe Cotton and center Taran Tyo aim to turn Nippert Stadium into the Football House of Pancakes. The trio anchors an offensive line that was among the best in the nation last season.
The linemen have been featured on billboards throughout Cincinnati, along with television and radio advertisements, ahead of Saturday's game against Boston College.
"They deserve the promotion. They were one of the top offensive line units in the country last year, and you've got a bunch of them back," coach Scott Satterfield said. "Most of the time, you don't give O-linemen much love. They never get to score, they don't get to make catches or carry the ball. They get their joy in seeing running backs score or blocking for the quarterback."

For 58 minutes, Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis didn't look ready for Prime -- Coach Deion Sanders -- or prime time.
Good thing for the Carrolton, GA, five-star player the game against Georgia Tech on Thursday was 60 minutes.
Lewis, who had thrown for 64 yards until the final drive, passed for 60 on the Buffaloes' final march. It concluded with 37 seconds left when he found Charlie Williams for a wheel route that went 20 yards and into the end zone.
The PAT gave the Buffaloes a 14-13 lead and they held on by blocking a last-gasp 45-yard field goal by the Yellow Jackets' Aidan Burr.
Georgia Tech started its last drive on the 25 and the first play saw Alberto Mendoza -- yes, he is Heisman winner Fernando's brother -- for 42 yards.

Peyton Watson gets brutally honest about why Anthony Edwards is such a tough matchup originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Over the past few years, Peyton Watson has developed into a solid defender whom the Denver Nuggets have trusted to guard star players. With his 6'8" frame and his high-level athleticism, it was the optimal role for him. He did well, especially when it came to his shot-blocking ability.
Considering Watson had to play against plenty of star players, one name in particular stood out to him. That is Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards, who is one of the league's most talented scorers. Watson admits that he has a hard time playing against him, which is a normal opinion for most defenders.
Edwards has been one of the most feared scorers in the league for his entire career. He has gone from being a superb slasher to becoming one of the league's most dangerous three-level scorers. He always has a counter-move against defenders, and Watson got a front-row seat to that almost every Nuggets-Timberwolves game.
Now that Watson is playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, he won't see Edwards that often. However, he will be playing against some of the Eastern Conference's best, which includes Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, so that experience against Edwards will be valuable.

EAST LANSING – To say Pat Fitzgerald has a big personality would be an understatement.
Michigan State's new football coach has some big jokes, too.
Fitzgerald twice took lighthearted jabs at lightning rod LSU coach Lane Kiffin during his debut radio show on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The first came when offensive lineman Conner Moore joined the broadcast with Fitzgerald, host Dalton Shetler and former MSU running back Jehuu Caulcrick. Shetler listed a bunch of superlatives for Moore, a senior who played a team-high 765 snaps last season for the Spartans and was fifth in the Big Ten with an 80.4 run blocking grade after arriving from Montana State.
"Should we keep going with showering with praise?" Shelter asked Fitzgerald.

Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson is not close to bringing in any new signings but says the imminent closure of the English transfer window could create opportunities.
Transfers depend on whether money is available and if targets can improve the squad without blocking "younger players' pathway". The Scottish window closes on Thursday.
And Robinson said: "We've brought in a lot of players. Ten free transfers. Three signings we've paid a little bit of money for. There's been a lot of change.
"If there's a chance to improve the squad, then definitely we're still looking.
"I'm not close to anyone coming in at the moment. I don't know if that it'll be it. The English window closes tonight, so things can change, opportunities arise that perhaps we didn't see coming and we'll keep an open mind if there's money available."

The Seattle Seahawks have made their roster cuts to get from 91 players to 53. They'll keep working on their "70-man roster" by forming their practice squad on Monday, then tinker with the roster some more before Week 1 of the regular season kicks off against the New England Patriots.
Perhaps there's a reason why "Hard Knocks" sought to spotlight Foster from the second episode onward. Foster had an impressive training camp, a somewhat up-and-down preseason but with a few splash plays on offense and some down-and-dirty work on special teams, and he's been rewarded with a spot on the 53. Not bad for someone who just got his real estate license and spent time as a substitute teacher in Ohio.
For now, Foster is Seattle's fifth wide receiver, and while he may not have the blocking chops of Jake Bobo, he can replace his special teams value and maybe provide a little bit more of a route tree in his limited snaps on offense.
Foster is one of those players you root for to succeed, and it helps when his parents have both been a wonderful follow. Their son is now more than just a Seahawks training camp body.
With the caveat that Mason Richman's ACL tear probably shuffled the numbers a tad, Seattle opted to keep both Bryce Cabeldue and Christian Haynes as backup guards. Haynes looked to be in jeopardy of leaving the Seahawks when Beau Stephens was drafted, but instead he enters 2026 off the best camp and preseason of his career. Cabeldue ******* umed a few snaps at center, just as he (and Haynes) did last year.

Tampa Bay must trim its roster to 53 players by Sunday evening, and while many of the decisions will involve players who entered training camp fighting uphill battles, the Buccaneers' improved depth could also lead to a few surprising names being left off the initial roster. Here are three players who could find themselves on the wrong side of the numbers.
Of all the potential cuts, Sean Tucker would probably be the most surprising. Tucker has shown he can produce when given opportunities, and he led Tampa Bay with eight touchdowns last season. He also brings value on special teams and has averaged 5.1 yards per carry over his first three NFL seasons. The issue is Josh Williams's emergence and the $3.5 million price tag Tucker carries. That's quite the price for an RB3, especially with Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell firmly established as Tampa Bay's top two backs. Tucker and Williams are competing for one spot unless the Buccaneers keep four running backs. Todd Bowles admitted Saturday that the competition went "back and forth" throughout the preseason and called it a tough decision. Williams getting offensive snaps ahead of Tucker during the preseason finale was also noteworthy. Tucker's track record makes him difficult to move on from, but roster construction and cost could ultimately work against him.
Payne Durham has been a regular part of Tampa Bay's offense over the past three seasons, but the changing makeup of the tight end room could put him in a more vulnerable position than expected. Cade Otton remains entrenched as the starter, while rookie Bauer Sharp has continued to make a case for a role. Even though he has shown more than his more direct competition, Devin Culp, Ko Kieft being healthy adds another body to the room who contributes on both offense and special teams. Durham's biggest argument is his blocking. At 6'6 and 253 pounds, he has provided the Buccaneers with a physical presence at the position and has experience playing meaningful offensive snaps. But if Tampa Bay believes Sharp can eventually handle some of those responsibilities while offering more upside, Durham could become an unexpected casualty of the numbers game.
Josh Hayes has survived Tampa Bay's final cuts in each of the past three seasons largely because of his special teams ability, but this could finally be the year his roster spot becomes vulnerable. Hayes has been one of Tampa Bay's most consistent special teams contributors and has also provided emergency depth in the secondary. But Tampa Bay has added more young talent to its secondary, creating a situation where the Buccaneers could prioritize upside at cornerback rather than keep a player primarily for his special teams role. Ayden Garnes and "Pepe" Williams have made the most of their opportunities with the starting corners dealing with injuries and have turned conversations of the corner room being a weakness to being one of their strengths.
