Barcelona star Pedri has dismissed suggestions that he's not compatible with Rodri after Sunday's 5-0 win over Valencia.
The two Spain stars started the game at Mestalla and were part of a brilliant Barcelona performance that delivered a fourth straight La Liga win.
Pedri was asked for his thoughts afterwards and made it clear he's enjoying playing with Rodri at Barca.
"It has been said that we don't work together, but it's very comfortable playing with Rodri," he told Movistar.
"He hardly ever loses the ball and that helps a lot in defence. We're going to have a good understanding that will get even better with more and more games."

Sep. 6—While many people across the state were paying attention to a certain college football game in Seattle, fans of the Spokane Indians had one last chance to see their "boys of summer" play at Avista Stadium on Sunday.
And though the chance at a postseason appearance evaporated a while ago, that didn't damper anyone's enthusiasm on "fan appreciation day" at the ballpark — not the 4,974 in the stands nor the players on the field.
Robert Calaz clubbed two long home runs to continue his torrid late-season hitting prowess and the Indians handled the Everett AquaSox 10-4 in the finale of the 2026 Northwest League regular season.
"(Starting pitcher Yuma) Herrera did a great job on the mound," manager Tom Sutaris said. "We came out swinging the bats. It was a really, really good start. We got good pitching, and it was a fun one."
Calaz, a 20-year-old prospect from Dominican Republic, hit just .208 over the first four months of the season. But in 24 games since Aug. 1, he's hit .333/.414/.663 with eight of his 12 homers this season.

SIERRA DE LA PANDERA, Spain (AP) — Enric Mas added to his lead of the Spanish Vuelta on a mountainous 14th stage won by Marco Brenner on Saturday.
Mas tacked some 25 seconds onto his advantage over Primož Roglič after dropping the four-time former winner on the final climb and linking up with a front-runner from his Movistar team.
Félix Gall crossed with Mas and moved into second place ahead of Roglič in the general classification. Gall is 2 minutes, 6 seconds behind Mas, with Roglič falling to 2:10 behind the leader.
Brenner won the grueling 151.9-kilometer (94.4-mile) stage in high temperatures after he bettered his fellow breakaway riders and edged Santiago Buitrago at the finish. Brenner had time to zip up his Tudor team suit just as he crossed the line in 4 hours, 15 minutes, 9 seconds. It was the 24-year-old German rider's first win at a grand tour.
The stage was held in an area just north of Granada that was under a heat warning with highs forecast for 38 degrees Celsius (100 Fahrenheit) in Jaen, where the day's racing started. Riders tackled a pair of category-two climbs as they rode through a landscape of sunbaked olive groves before a final ascent to the category-one Sierra de la Pandera.

Aristotle Capital Management, LLC, an investment management company, released its "Value Equity Fund" Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The Fund delivered a 4.32% total return in Q2 2026, underperforming the 13.87% gain for the Russell 1000 Value Index and the 15.20% return for the S&P 500, while its 1.99% year-to-date return also lagged the Russell 1000 Value Index's 16.26% and the S&P 500's 10.21%. The Fund attributed the performance gap largely to limited exposure to the AI infrastructure spending boom, noting that the U.S. has about 4,000 existing data centers and nearly 3,000 more planned or under construction, while AI-related demand has created bottlenecks in processors and memory. The letter highlighted the scale of the cycle, with industry cash flows in key AI hardware areas rising sharply, while the Russell 1000 Value Index's top 10 contributors gained an average 182% year to date and accounted for 9.29 percentage points of the index's 16.23% return. Looking ahead, the fund expects investors to eventually reassess the sustainability of current AI infrastructure earnings and valuations. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Aristotle Value Equity Fund highlighted stocks like Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR). Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR) develops life sciences, diagnostics, and biotechnology products and technologies used across healthcare and research markets. The one-month return of Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR) was 10.62% while its shares traded between $160.93 and $242.80 over the last 52 weeks. On August 27, 2026, Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR) stock closed at approximately $215.36 per share, with a market capitalization of about $155.62 billion.
Aristotle Value Equity Fund stated the following regarding Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
We first invested in Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR), a company focused on biotechnology, life sciences and diagnostics, in the second quarter of 2016, attracted by its disciplined capital allocation, differentiated operating culture and consistent FREE cash flow generation. The business is distinguished by a portfolio of market-leading franchises and a high mix of recurring consumables revenue tied to a large installed base. Its differentiated operating culture, anchored by the Danaher Business System, has historically enabled the company to be a highly effective acquirer, consistently integrating new businesses, expanding margins and driving strong FREE cash flow generation. Over our decade-long holding period, Danaher successfully transformed itself from a diversified industrial company into a more focused healthcare business. This evolution included the spinoffs of Fortive, Envista, and Veralto, as well as the acquisition and integration of key ***** ets such as Pall, Cepheid and Cytiva. Arsenal target Julian Alvarez will "never, ever" be sold to Barcelona, according to Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin, who did not rule out the possibility of the Argentina international joining another club instead before the transfer deadline.
Alvarez made it clear earlier this summer that he wanted to join Barcelona but relations between the Spanish clubs have completely broken down over the transfer saga, with Gil Marin accusing Barcelona of "dishonesty" and a lack of "professionalism".
Barcelona's president Joan Laporta said on Wednesday that they were still interested in Alvarez despite Atletico's stance, with Atletico then releasing a statement to confirm there was "zero per cent chance" of Alvarez moving to Camp Nou.
(PA)
"Our intention and my personal dream is for him to stay with us, to remain at Atletico," Gil Martin told Spanish broadcaster Movistar Plus after Thursday's Champions League league phase draw in Monaco.

Tadej Pogacar recovered from a brief off-road excursion to outsprint Enric Mas and claim his third victory at this year's Vuelta a Espana, but he was made to fight all the way to the line by the Spaniard on stage six.
After attacking on the final climb and rapidly establishing a handsome lead it looked as though the defending world champion would romp away to a trademark solo victory.
But, as the rest of the main contenders struggled in his slipstream, Movistar's Mas reeled him in and overtook him on the final metres of the climb to claim maximum points in the king of the mountain's classification.
The home rider then initially led down the final descent, at one point gesturing to Pogacar to take it cautiously.
But the six-time Grand Tour winner, who is chasing the Vuelta crown to complete the set with victory in all three of the sport's biggest stage races, having already won five Tours de France and a Giro d'Italia, did not heed the warning.

Alluvial Capital Management's Q2 2026 investor letter for the Alluvial Fund reported a 4.9% return, with a year-to-date increase to 8.0%. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. While these results are acceptable, they are overshadowed by the impressive performance of small-cap and micro-cap stocks, particularly in AI and semiconductor sectors. The portfolio remains stable and focused on dependable cash flow producers, although it sometimes lags in momentum-driven markets. July showed improvement for Alluvial Fund as benchmarks declined. The author emphasizes the importance of a dependable investment strategy focused on solid cash flow producers, while expressing confidence that the portfolio's intrinsic value discount will lessen over time. The letter aims to communicate the fund's approach and highlights potential opportunities in overlooked sectors, urging a long-term investment perspective amidst current market trends. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Alluvial Fund highlighted Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VISN) as a newly added position. Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VISN) is a global provider of infrastructure solutions for communications, data center, and entertainment networks. On August 26, 2026, Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VISN) closed at $11.05 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $2.55 billion. Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VISN) posted a one-month return of -5.64%, while its shares lost 30.76% over the past 52 weeks.
Alluvial Fund stated the following regarding Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VISN) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VISN), a new holding for Alluvial Fund, is a company in the midst of dismantling itself. Over the past twelve months, Vistance has sold its two largest businesses. Vistance is now down to just one remaining operating ****** et, Aurora Networks, which manufactures equipment for cable networks like Comcast and Charter. It's not a wonderful business—results are lumpy and customer concentration is high—but it is not going away. Faced with relentless competition from fiber and wireless internet alternatives, cable operators have no choice but to continue to invest in speed and reliability upgrades. On the heels of this radical reduction in scale, I don't think Vistance stays independent. Management has gone from running an enterprise doing almost $7 billion in annual sales to one doing just $1 billion. Once it pays out the proceeds from its latest business sale, Vistance will have a market capitalization below $1 billion. As a newly-minted micro-cap company, it might as well be invisible. Being a listed, SEC-reporting micro-cap comes with all the headaches and annoyances of being public, but without most of the benefits. Given the choice between fading into irrelevance as a micro-cap network equipment maker and achieving a neat resolution (and a nice liquidity event for management,

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's full autopsy report on late Memphis Grizzlies veteran forward and former Phoenix Desert Vista standout Brandon Clarke was released Monday, Aug. 24. Clarke had cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, and multiple other medications "within therapeutic levels," per the report obtained by USA Today Sports.
Clarke's roommate told officials that Clarke had a "history of drug use" and underwent multiple rehabilitation stints for drug addiction, according to the report's synopsis.
Clarke died at his San Fernando Valley residence on May 11. He was 29 years old. The cause of death was an accidental overdose from the "effects of heroin and cocaine" in Clarke's system, which matched the medical examiner's initial statement about Clarke on Aug. 7.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials listed in the incident's early reports that he was found unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.
Drug paraphernalia was found at Clarke's home, according to the synopsis report. That included "vape devices, cannabis products, prescription medications, injectable peptides, syringes, a box of Narcan, blister packets of medications, vitamins and other medical evidence." Also, there was a plate with an "unknown white powdery substance and a hotel keycard" found in the kitchen.

Shares of Vista Energy (VIST) climbed after Peter Thiel, co-founder and chair of Palantir Technologies (PLTR), disclosed a roughly 1% stake in the Argentine oil and gas producer. Thiel Macro LLC spent about $76 million to acquire roughly 1.2 million American depositary shares, making Vista Energy its second-largest holding behind Amazon (AMZN) and its only non-U.S. stock.
The stake also comes as Thiel deepens his ties to Argentina. He met President Javier Milei at the presidential palace about four months before the filing, and Milei said they discussed economic policy and their opposition to wealth taxes. Argentine media have also reported that Thiel bought a home in an upscale Buenos Aires neighborhood.

Former Real Madrid player, coach and sporting director Jorge Valdano has weighed in on Barcelona's signing of Rodri, arguing that the Spanish midfielder would have had an even greater transformative effect had he ended up at Real Madrid.
Speaking on Movistar Plus Deportes, Valdano offered an unusual way of ***** sing the significance of the transfer. In his view, Rodri undoubtedly improves Barcelona, but preventing Madrid from acquiring a midfielder with his particular qualities carries considerable value of its own.
"For me, Rodri's contribution to Barcelona is worth 35 million, and what remains for Real Madrid is worth 40 million," Valdano said.
It is a striking ***** sment, but one that speaks to the different needs of the two teams.
Barcelona already have a clearly established footballing identity under Hansi Flick, and Valdano does not believe Rodri's arrival will fundamentally alter the way the Catalans play. Instead, he sees the midfielder as someone capable of reinforcing the principles already in place.

The newly configured District 1-5A will be a hybrid of teams that know each other well, and teams that don't.
Four holdovers — Los Alamos, Highland, Capital and Miyamura — are joined by four previous Class 6A programs in Los Lunas, Piedra Vista, Cibola and Santa Fe who all dropped a class under the state's latest realignment and classification.
"It's a much tougher district now," Los Alamos coach Garett Williams said.
This new district's headliner is undoubtedly Los Lunas, which played in the 6A quarterfinals last November.
New coach Stephen Johnston has a stacked roster that most every coach expects will allow the Tigers to challenge the likes of Artesia and Roswell for a blue trophy come Thanksgiving weekend.

The oligarchs who run college football met this week to begin to perhaps decide the future of the sport.
How to maximize revenue. Especially for the oligarchiest among them, Big Ten, SEC and that school Paul Hornung attended.
They met virtually. Though the meeting was originally set for the new Four Seasons Resort at Del Boca Vista. Out of frugality, I suppose.
Especially after the ESPN crew threw in a new wrinkle, i.e. a 20 school CFP.
Nothing happened. Table collapsed because of weight of all proposals.

Aug. 10—Eugene starting pitcher Hunter Dryden had a lot of folks out to the game last week at Avista Stadium for his Spokane homecoming. They cheered so loudly when he struck out one of the hometown Indians batters that it drew looks from others in the crowd.
"I didn't get an official tally," the Deer Park High School and Whitworth University alum said. "But I think it ended up being just over 60 people, which is incredible that everybody came in and did that. That was , like , insane for them to all do that, and I'm very appreciative."
After the game, in which Dryden tossed six innings of one-run ball in an eventual 13-1 win for the Emeralds, all his visitors came down onto the field to share the moment with the 24-year-old right-hander.
"I got to give them all hugs and talked to them for a while," he said. "My little cousins wanted autographs. And then there's a few people who had left before the game ended, so I got some texts from them and talked to them and, you know, thanked them for coming."
Dryden is in the midst of his second season of professional baseball in the San Francisco Giants organization. The Giants drafted him in the 17th round of the 2024 MLB draft after his four-year career at Whitworth.

This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Thomas Flohr, the 65-year-old founder, chairman, and CEO of VistaJet, based in St. Moritz, Switzerland, about his daily routine. It's been edited for length and clarity.
I started my career at a Chicago-based technology firm in 1985 and rose through the ranks. I later acquired most of the company's European operations through my company, Comprendium Investment.
My frequent business travel in the early 2000s exposed me to the shortcomings of private aviation. At the time, I found the private jet experience to be inconsistent and underwhelming. The service quality didn't match the level of luxury that clients paying $10,000 to $15,000 an hour expected. I didn't see a good solution in the market and initially thought about paying for fractional jet ownership before deciding against it.
Business Insider's Power Hours series gives readers an inside look at how powerful leaders in business structure their workday. Reach out to editor Lauryn Haas to share your daily routine.
After exploring all other options, I bought a Learjet 60 in 2003, and that plane became the foundation for starting VistaJet in 2004. Vista is a private aviation subscription service that provides access to over 270 customized business jets for clients in 187 countries.

Aug. 3—The 2026 Northwest League second half is becoming the **** le no one wants to win. But currently, the Spokane Indians sit in the driver's seat.
Even though the Indians merely split with fourth-place Vancouver last week, and are 4-6 over their past 10 games, they return to Avista Stadium this week in first place with a 20-16 record.
The upcoming series against second-place Eugene could set the tone for the stretch run.
Next up: The Indians host a six-game set against the Emeralds (19-17).
The Emeralds were the first-half champs. They feature Deer Park native RHP Hunter Dryden and San Francisco Giants No. 3 prospect OF Jhonny Level. The 19-year-old is hitting .299 with 15 homers, 70 RBIs and 17 stolen bases this season.

An elegant evening celebrating Inter's international presence marked the Club's stay in Hong Kong during the opening leg of the Internazionale Summer Tour. Within one of Asia's most dynamic cities, the Club brought together representatives from local institutions, partners, media and the cultural community for an exclusive event inspired by the values that have defined Inter since its foundation.
Hosted at Cardinal Point, the spectacular Sky Terrace on the 45th floor of the Landmark skyscraper, the event treated guests to breathtaking views of Hong Kong's skyline and Victoria Harbour. It provided the perfect setting to celebrate Inter's international presence, surrounded by the colours that have represented the Club since 1908: "Black as the night, blue as the sky."
At the heart of the evening was an opportunity to enjoy a traditional aperitivo with the local community, designed to bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds. Guests experienced an authentic Milanese aperitivo – one of the city's most iconic social traditions – while embracing the spirit of openness, exchange and dialogue that has always been central to Inter's identity as Internazionale.
The event welcomed leading representatives from local institutions, Club partners, members of the media, content creators and prominent figures from across Hong Kong, creating a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration where sport, culture and business came together.
The evening opened with a special welcome from Nerazzurri legend Christian Vieri, who took to the stage alongside host Sze Nga and Rivista Undici journalist Jay Ganglani, whose publication partnered with the event. Their conversation explored football's role as a global cultural phenomenon and Inter's evolution into an international brand capable of connecting with different markets, cultures and communities around the world.

The prospectus estimates a hypothetical shareholder's costs at $77 over one year and $240 over three years, ***** uming a 5% annual return. In one of, if not THE most important “bean sponsored” bowl games in history, Louisville walked into Del Boca Vista (IYKYK), and was laying the smack down on the entire city of Toledo early. Focusing on the ground game, the Cards were hitting the Rockets with the law services of ‘Brown & Brown’ and they had no recourse for the evidence they continued to provide the country as one of the best one-two combos in the nation.
Eventually, the Rockets got some of the bean fuel in their system and starting blasting off some chunk plays to inch back a little closer and make it a one score game late. Nerves, anxiety, stress, bean regret….all of it disappeared with one run.
With roughly five minutes remaining in the game, and Cards holding onto a 21-14 lead, Isaac Brown “turned on the gas” and delivered a 54 yard scramble all the way to the endzone to help seal the game. Both Brown’s ended up with over 100 yards on the ground and Toledo did not get to enjoy the post-game bean celebration they so desperately desired.

The Ohio State Buckeyes stretched their aggressive recruiting outreach to California in recent years. It's how the Buckeyes reeled in five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. and past star quarterback CJ Stroud.
Now the Buckeyes have their eyes set on someone comparable to the latter. Especially one hailing from Stroud's home region.
Stroud dominated the prep competition out of Rancho Cucamonga High in California's Inland Empire. The "I.E" has emerged as quite the quarterback hot spot since Stroud. Washington Commanders QB and 2023 Heisman Trophy winner from LSU Jayden Daniels represents one more QB from that region, who was once offered by the Buckeyes too out of Cajon High in San Bernardino.
Now the Buckeyes are rising as the favorite to land this ultra-talented passer. But must fight off Alabama and a reported late surge from Big Ten rival Oregon.
Four-star for the class of 2028 Josiah Boyd is emerging as a potential future Buckeye. The 6-foot-4 dual-threat stars for Vista del Lago High down in Moreno Valley.
