PANTHER TRACKS: One of the impressive early starts is being put together by Piedra Vista, which is 2-0 and coming off a 43-27 win over Durango, Colorado. Of note, the Panthers had scored just 41 combined points in five straight losses to Durango from 2021-25.
Piedra Vista already has scored 99 points in victories over Farmington and Durango.
When Week 2 began, the Panthers were ranked No. 4 (by the coaches) in Class 5A behind Roswell, Artesia and Los Lunas.
