BitMEX has settled and delisted XBTUSD, ending one of the most influential trades in crypto history. The Bitcoin contract ran for more than 10 years and became the template for the perpetual futures market that dominates crypto trading today.
BitMEX itself will shut down on September 23. Yet the product it created is everywhere.
XBTUSD launched on May 13, 2016. It allowed traders to bet on Bitcoin without an expiry date.
Traditional futures expire on fixed dates. XBTUSD did not. That kept traders in one continuous market instead of splitting liquidity between different contracts.
BitMEX also introduced a funding system to keep the contract close to Bitcoin's spot price. When too many traders crowded onto one side, they paid the other side.

Guardian Metal Resources PLC (NYSEAMERICAN:GMTL) reported its first Good Hope drilling results on September 14, adding exploration potential to the Pilot Mountain tungsten project in Nevada. Hole GH26-01 returned a 12.95-meter downhole interval grading 0.79% tungsten trioxide, or WO3, starting at 12.19 meters. GH26-02 intersected 13.11 meters at 0.42% WO3 from 2.13 meters.
The holes were twinned, with GH26-02 redrilling the upper portion where core had not been recovered. Good Hope and the separate Tremor discovery remain outside the resource base supporting the existing pre-feasibility study. The investment question is whether additional mineralization can improve project returns without slowing development.
Shallow mineralization offers a potential route to additional feed that could be accessible early in a future mining sequence. Good Hope sits approximately 1.1 to 1.3 kilometers from the existing resource areas, making its possible integration worth evaluating alongside the planned operation.

Saudi Arabia's oil supply crisis is rapidly becoming Europe's problem.
The September 10 attacks on Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline struck the system at multiple locations and damaged at least one pumping station, forcing Riyadh to shut down the Kingdom's critical alternative to the Strait of Hormuz.
The 1,200-kilometer Petroline can carry around 7 million barrels per day from Saudi Arabia's eastern producing regions to Yanbu on the Red Sea. Since the war effectively closed Hormuz, it has become one of the most important pieces of energy infrastructure in the world.
Kpler estimates the pipeline had been moving roughly 4 million bpd around Hormuz before the attack. A prolonged outage could ultimately threaten 3.5–4 million bpd of Saudi crude exports. The figure is below Petroline's nameplate capacity because Saudi Arabia can still export some crude from eastern terminals such as Ras Tanura, despite the severe constraints on Gulf shipping.

Coming into Monday night, the Yankees were one win away from officially clinching a playoff berth. While that's obviously not the end goal of their season, getting into the postseason is the first step. They're now there.
Officially, the clinching came prior to the Yankees' game ending, as the Blue Jays losing to the Tigers was also enough to get the job done. However on the field, the Yankees got the job done too, eventually.
On the mound, Will Warren was pretty good but deserved better. He ended up going 5.2 innings, allowing two runs — both of which ended up unearned — on five hits and two walks. Thanks to some iffy defense and the offense struggling, he left the game in line for the loss, before the offense responded just in time. Thanks to a six-run eighth inning that included Aaron Judge's first home run since returning from the injured list, the Yankees flipped the game back in their favor. They didn't need the win to pop the champagne, but it still feels better to get in with it, as they downed the Twins 8-3.
After both teams failed to capitalize on some early runners, the Yankees broke the deadlock in the third. With two outs, José Caballero just cleared the left wall at Target Field for a solo home run, putting the Yankees up early.
On the mound, Warren was mostly very solid. He ended up giving up the lead in the sixth, albeit with some defensive miscues that weren't entirely on him. After Warren got the first out of the inning, Ryan McMahon let a Kody Clemens grounder through his legs for an error. Warren then got the second out, brining Josh Bell to the plate. Bell hit a liner to a leaping George Lombard Jr., who got a glove on the ball, but couldn't complete the catch. The ball got past him into center field, moving Clemens to third. That one was ruled a single as opposed to an error, as it would've been a very nice play had Lombard completed it.

Former Tennessee baseball star Andrew Fischer made history on Sept. 10, crushing his 47th home run of the season to break Ryan Howard's record for the most by a minor leaguer this century.
Fischer passed Howard, who hit 46 homers in 2004, with a solo shot to right field for the Biloxi Shuckers, the Milwaukee Brewers' Double-A affiliate. Fischer is the Brewers' No. 5 prospect and is hitting .272 with 113 RBIs between High-A and Double-A in 2026.
Fischer, a corner infielder, has hit the fifth-most home runs in a minor league season dating back to 1963, when the modern era began. He is eight home runs behind the all-time record of 55 home runs in a single season, set by Bill McNulty in 1974 with Triple-A Sacramento. That season, Sacramento played at Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College, which had a left-field wall only 233 feet away from home plate.
The most recent player to hit 50 home runs in a minor league season was Ron Kittle in 1982 with Triple-A Edmonton. Biloxi only has three regular season games left for Fischer to reach that mark.

Aaron Judge may be back in action for the New York Yankees, but they are bringing him along slowly to preserve his health heading into the most important stretch of the season. To that end, Judge received a day off on Thursday in their series finale against the Colorado Rockies, with Jasson Dominguez taking his spot not just at right field, but at the three-spot in the lineup.
However, Dominguez did not impress during his opportunity on Thursday. In fact, he did the opposite. Not only did he go 0-4 from the plate (with one walk) with two strikeouts on the night, he also made an error in the top of the eighth, failing to field a base hit cleanly which allowed the Rockies to score a run.

So often pitchers' duels don't really stand up to the hype, but today's matchup between two former Stetson Hatters – the Mariners' Logan Gilbert and the Rangers' Jacob deGrom – delivered on all that promise and then some. The two pitchers combined for 23 strikeouts, and deGrom carried a perfect game through five innings. In true pitching duel style, it looked like the pitcher who blinked first would come out on the short end, but despite Logan Gilbert making a couple of mistakes, his offense was able to pick him up and deliver him the win. Bragging rights are fun; wins are better. (Gilbert also gets the honor of leading MLB in whiffs today: 24 to deGrom's 20, despite having one fewer strikeout than deGrom.)
This all being said, it was a slog for the Mariners early on. The best at-bat the first time through the order for the Mariners went to – surprise, surprise – Cal Raleigh, who battled deGrom for nine pitches before striking out on deGrom's fastest fastball of the day, a 99.6 mph heater (my campaign for decimal points on the ribbon board in the stadium, which read 100, continues unabated). But the Mariners did fight deGrom, getting themselves into good counts and forcing him into the zone; he finished the second inning at 37 pitches, compared to Gilbert's 24.
But it only took two pitches to offset that work in the third. Nicky Lopez was able to take 96 up and in from Gilbert and find a hole on the infield, and one batter later, with two outs, Joc Pederson jumped a first-pitch slider for a two-run homer. It wasn't a terrible pitch from Gilbert, away from Pederson but probably still too much on the plate; Gilbert had struck Pederson out on the slider in his first at-bat. The slider was particularly nasty today, with an eye-popping 75% whiff rate. He led with the pitch, throwing it 40 times, 12 times to start off an at-bat, which feels like a different sequence than he's used. Gilbert credits Cal for coming up with a good game plan, especially after he felt like he fell into some predictable patterns in his last time out against the A's.
"Like with Joc, we got him with the slider early, so he probably thought we were going to it next time," explained Gilbert. "But then also other guys, we went heavy spin, like with Duran, and then next time went three or four straight fastballs. So I think we did a good job there. They're trying to look at how we're probably scouting them, and then next time through, maybe pitch them different. I think Cal did a good job there."
But deGrom was just as tough on the other side. After striking out eight times in the first three innings, the Mariners hitters decided to try a different strategy the second time through the order. That also didn't work, as they let deGrom cruise through the fourth on nine pitches, keeping his perfect game intact.

Lindsey Brooke Isaacs was asleep at home when police arrived and told the 23-year-old that her car had been involved in a crash that killed three people. She knew they had the wrong person. Her black Dodge Durango showed no obvious collision damage, and she had a receipt showing where she had been.

Months later, prosecutors dropped all eight felony charges against her and investigators arrested another woman in connection with the crash. Her case now raises a bigger question about how much weight investigators should give license plate camera data when a person's freedom is on the line.
