Several of Tottenham's reserve and academy teams have had Great Bavarian Journeys in recent years with loans to Bundesliga clubs. That's included former Spurs development player Luka Vuskovic's year at Hamburg, as well as Kota Takai spending last spring at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Now it looks like another young Spurs player will be heading to Germany.
Fabrizio Romano posted yesterday that German side FC Köln have submitted a proposal to Spurs to take Mikey Moore on loan for the season, and that the two clubs are in negotiations to confirm the deal. Moore is said to be open to the move.
Mikey's had something of a mixed preseason. He was named on the squad that toured to New Zealand and Australia, but didn't really impress that much in his limited minutes, despite flashing some of the prodigious talent that's brought him this far in his career. This might be exactly what he needs to unlock the next stage of his potential — a season on loan in what is perhaps the third best league in Europe.
I'd be hard pressed to call Köln a GOOD team — they finished 14th out of 18 in the Bundesliga last season — but that might provide Moore some more opportunities that he might not get at other clubs. ***** uming he's not sold, Moore would also play alongside (and in rotation with) Said El Mala, a precocious 19-year-old German winger with a high ceiling and links to bigger clubs. Sounds familiar, huh?
I don't hate this move at all if it happens. The preseason makes it feel like Moore still needs a little more time in the oven to cook before he's ready for Spurs' first team, and I think the Bundesliga will provide a new and different challenge than just dumping Mikey into the Championship this season. We'll see if, now that the team has returned from their tour, if this gets announced in the next couple of days.

Most people know the general gist of Maycon Cardozo's rise through the ranks of Bayern Munich so far, but it is worth repeating how rapidly the pint sized magician has overcome every challenge thus far. Picked as part of the 2024 Bayern World Squad edition, the Brazilian impressed the likes of Roy Makaay and his fellow World Squad coaches so much that they unanimously agreed to recommend Bayern to sign the youngster from the Sports Thai Bavaria Academy in Thailand. He duly joined the U17s in January 2025, moved up to the U-19s in the summer, made it to the U-23s by January 2026 and made his first team debut under Vincent Kompany in March 2026 in a 4-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Now two 2026/27 preseason games are gone and Cardozo has passed his next challenge. Moved all over the pitch to unfamiliar positions, including on the right flank against Rottach-Egern, he nevertheless impressed. Nor are just his performances on the pitch impressive, multiple coaches have been impressed by the youngster's work ethic. Bildreports (as captured by iMiaSanMia) that Cardozo has an outside chance at a role with the first team for the 2026/27 season:

FCB II head coach Dante was also impressed: "Maycon always gives it his all – always. I even had to stop him once and tell him he shouldn't always be sprinting. He is always motivated and focused, always thinking about the next ball. That's a great quality. With his attitude, he's a role model for our team."
Because of this commitment and performances, Cardozo will be included in the squad for the Asia tour, and could get game time in the friendlies there. After the tour, it will become clearer whether Cardozo has a realistic chance of playing a role for the first team this season.

The Athletic and Sky Germany both report that Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker Giovanni Reyna is in talks over a possible move to RC Strasbourg. Negotiations involving the 23-year-old United States international and the two clubs remain at an early stage. Gladbach are prepared to consider both a permanent sale and another loan for a player who only arrived at Borussia-Park last summer.
Should Reyna complete the move, Strasbourg would become his fourth club in four consecutive campaigns. An unsuccessful Nottingham Forest loan in 2023/24 was followed by one final season at Borussia Dortmund and an equally difficult year with Gladbach.
The Foals paid Dortmund an initial fee of approximately €4 million last summer. The total transfer package was reported to be capable of reaching around €7 million, while BVB retained a 15-percent sell-on clause.
Reyna signed a contract through 2028 and arrived hoping to restore both his club career and his position with the USMNT ahead of the World Cup on home soil.
His return to the national team ultimately proved more successful than his domestic campaign. Reyna made five appearances and scored once at the tournament, but never established himself as a regular in Mönchengladbach.

United States men's national team star Gio Reyna has been linked with another transfer after the World Cup.
Reyna has already played for Borussia Dortmund, Nottingham Forest and Borussia Monchengladbach in the last three seasons.
He struggled with injuries throughout the 2025/26 campaign and made just 19 Bundesliga appearances, scoring one goal.
Reyna had a slightly more impactful World Cup with the United States, scoring in their 4-1 victory over Paraguay.
The 23-year-old is now wanted by Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, who are owned by the same consortium as Chelsea (BlueCo).

Borussia Mönchengladbach's pre-season plans have taken an immediate hit. Newly signed right-back Yukhym Konoplya is set to miss the start of the Bundesliga season after suffering an inner ligament tear in his knee during his unofficial debut for the Foals.
The 26-year-old Ukrainian international arrived at Gladbach from Shakhtar Donetsk for a reported fee between €3.5m and €4.5m. Bringing valuable Champions League and Europa League experience to the Lower Rhine, Konoplya was brought in to finally solve Gladbach's long-standing issues on the right flank. Known for his dynamic overlapping runs, sharp crossing, and relentless work rate, he was also expected to apply direct pressure on inconsistent starter Joe Scally and the more defensively minded Stefan Lainer.
However, his start in Borussia colors turned into a nightmare. Brought on during a pre-season friendly against third-division side Rot-Weiss Essen to gather his first minutes, Konoplya was forced off after just a few minutes following an awkward movement with no opponent contact. While initial fears of a complete ligament rupture were ruled out after detailed examinations by the club's medical staff, the diagnosed partial tear will keep him sidelined for several weeks—ruling him out of both the DFB-Pokal opening round and the Bundesliga kickoff.
For manager Gerardo Seoane, the timing is a massive blow. Instead of hitting the ground running with a proven international on the right side, Gladbach must now reshape their backline for the opening weeks of the campaign while hoping Konoplya's recovery stays on track.

According to reports from both Sky Germany and Sport BILD, Maximilian Wöber will complete a move to FC Schalke 04 shortly.
The 28-year-old is under contract with Leeds United, but is already in Austria and trained individually at the training camp on Tuesday.
Today he successfully completed his medical examination and is expected to sign a performance-based contract.
Wöber played on loan at Werder Bremen last season, but only made four appearances due ongoing injuries curtailing his involvement.
Werder therefore did not exercise their €4million purchase option. Prior to that he played on loan for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Manchester United's pursuit of AS Roma midfielder Manu Kone may have taken a complicated turn. The Red Devils endured a slow start to the summer but have picked up the pace in recent days.
With the midfield a priority following Casemiro's exit, INEOS have already signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa. The English giants have also secured the services of Karl Darlow on a free transfer to bolster their goalkeeping department.
While Santos and Tielemans could prove to be shrewd acquisitions and should add quality to the middle of the park, United remain on the hunt for a third midfielder. The Red Devils need more steel and tenacity in midfield and are understandably looking at defensive midfielders.
Several candidates remain linked with the Premier League giants, including Kone, who has impressed for both club and country of late.
Kone spent his formative years at several clubs before arriving at Toulouse in 2016. He earned his senior debut with the club from southern France, before moving to Borussia Monchengladbach in 2021.

Leading into the final two games of the tournament, England will need to rely once again on their two stars who both share 6 goals a piece: former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham and current Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane.
Against Norway, it was Bellingham who netted a brace to drag England through after extra-time. However, for England, Kane's fellow Bundesliga star Jarell Quansah remains suspended for a red card he got in the last 16 against Mexico.

According to a report from Bild, Newcastle United recently submitted a €12 million bid to Borussia Mönchengladbach for Moritz Nicolas.
However, Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder has denied that the Bundesliga club have received an offer for the 28-year-old goalkeeper.
"We have not received any offer for Moritz Nicolas," Schröder said, according to Kicker.
He also made it clear that Borussia Mönchengladbach have no intention of selling their first-choice goalkeeper.
"We are planning with Moritz 100 percent as our number one," he added.

Borussia Mönchengladbach have welcomed back Roland Virkus in a role within the club's scouting department.
Virkus, who stepped down as managing director for sport at the end of September last year, will take up a new position focused on coach scouting.
"Roland has demonstrated his expertise over many years at Borussia, both as a youth coach and in identifying talented coaches during his time as academy director. We want to continue making the best possible use of that wealth of experience for Borussia," said André Hechelmann, the club's director of scouting and recruitment.

Rumours linking Newcastle United with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas have been dismissed almost as quickly as they appeared.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Newcastle have no interest in the 28-year-old and haven’t spoken to Monchengladbach about a potential deal.
Speculation about Newcastle’s interest in Nicolas started after the German media claimed that Nicolas was their primary target in the search for a new goalkeeper.
They also claimed Newcastle had tabled a €12 million (£10.2m) bid for the German shotstopper, while Monchengladbach values him closer to €15m (£12.7m).
However, Plettenberg has now put those rumours to bed, making it clear that there has been no discussion between Newcastle and their German counterparts over Nicolas.

Deniz Ofli was recently rumored to leave Bayern Munich to gain experience at 2. Bundesliga team Karlsruher SC with an option to buy. Now the move is official, as Bayern’s website have confirmed the move:
Deniz Ofli is taking the next step: The full-back is joining Karlsruher SC on a one-year loan. The 19-year-old is following in the footsteps of former Bayern Munich reserve player David Herold at the Baden-based second-division club. Ofli joined the youth academy of the record German champions in 2019, progressing through all the youth teams. Last season, he initially made 17 appearances for the U19s before playing nine Regionalliga matches for Holger Seitz’s first team after the winter break. The Turkish youth international has also made his debuts in the Champions League (Atalanta Bergamo) and the Bundesliga (VfB Stuttgart).
Karlsruher SC’s website confirmed the move and the existence of a buy option:

According to Sky Sport Germany, Borussia Mönchengladbach are on the verge of completing a deal for the 19-year-old centre-back from Legia Warsaw.
