It has been eight months since beloved Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed and their son Nick Reiner was arrested in their deaths.
But for Jake Reiner, the couple's 35-year-old son, the nightmare feels like "eight years at the same time, and it also feels like eight minutes," he told KABC-TV of Los Angeles in his first sit-down interview since the family tragedy.
"Every moment that I wake up, I'm reminded of my reality, and you're living through that every single day," he said.
Jake said he hasn't spoken to his brother. Nor has he attended any of his brother's court hearings, the station reported.
"He's in jail, so, you know, it's like I physically lost my parents and then Nick was arrested. And it's like now, it's just me and Romy," he said, referring to his 28-year-old sister.

LeBron James and the PGA Tour have teamed up to announce the LeBron James Family Foundation Invitational, a two-day event at Firestone Country Club for underrepresented aspiring golfers.
The experience will connect students in the LeBron James Family Foundation's I PROMISE program with professional golfers who advanced through the PGA Tour's Pathway to Progression Pro-Bound Five program.
The inaugural event is scheduled for July 6-7, 2027. Firestone Country Club recently hosted its final Kaulig Companies Championship, which is moving to Newport Beach, California. Firestone had a 72-year run of hosting a PGA Tour event, notably the Bridgestone Invitational that Tiger Woods dominated for much of the 2000s and 2010s.
"For many years, PGA Tour events at Firestone have been a staple of our community, benefitting our hometown and bringing people together," said Michele Campbell, executive director of the LeBron James Family Foundation. "With this event, we're excited to not only support more diverse golfers getting into the game, but to also expose our I PROMISE students and more youth in Akron to the world of possibilities that golf opens up."
James recently launched a YouTube channel as he brings people along his own golf journey. This new partnership is aimed at opening some doors to the game of golf that some might not have previously had to the same degree.

Jake and Romy Reiner testified before the Los Angeles grand jury that indicted their brother Nick.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office confirmed Nick's siblings spoke in court as part of their brother's murder case. Just days ago, he was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of their parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
Nick is now facing a new alleged special circumstance of lying in wait.
Within a statement unsealed in court last Wednesday, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said, "This was a profound betrayal by someone who was loved and trusted by the very people he is accused of killing.
"The indictment unsealed today also adds a special circumstance allegation that the defendant committed the murders by means of lying in wait," the attorney continued. Nick Reiner has reiterated his demand for access to his family's trust fund in a Friday declaration, obtained and reviewed by TheWrap. The document argues that a portion of the fund became "due and payable" to Reiner upon turning 30 years old and that he hadn't been informed by a prior trustee that the sum was owed to him.
Reiner is charged with the murder of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and producer Michele Reiner, who were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, Calif. residence Dec. 14. Reiner has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his new filing, Reiner argues that he did not give "consent to any Trustee of my Trust to withhold, defer or retain" his distribution that unlocked at the age of 30, estimated at the value of $558,000.
In a response objecting to Reiner's petition, also obtained and reviewed by TheWrap, the defense argues that Paul Kanin, a former successor trustee, cannot act against the new trustee, Jodie Pais Montgomery, because he no longer controls the trust's ***** ets. The document also argues that Reiner's allegations of misconduct mischaracterize "ordinary, necessary features of trust administration and succession."
"Nick's sense of urgency is real, but it did not arise in a vacuum," argues the objection. "Driving to the game today, I didn't know whether I was going to suit up and play, if it was my funeral or a celebration," Taurasi joked during her induction speech. Republican Senate candidate Michele Tafoya, a former sportscaster, said Wednesday that voters told her it was "embarrassing" to be from Minnesota, amid progressive candidates' wins across the state.
In an appearance on Fox News's "America Reports," host John Roberts asked Tafoya about polling that showed her trailing her opponent, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, a progressive who netted the Democratic nomination.
"The cards are stacked against you, it would seem," Roberts said. "No question, you've got a big hill to climb there."
"Minnesotans are exhausted, and John, quite frankly, they're embarrassed. I have talked to hundreds of voters in Minnesota who have told me, 'Gosh, I went on vacation this summer. I didn't want to tell people where I was from because it's embarrassing.' And it's true," she said, detailing how Democrats in the North Star State are wary of shifts in the party toward socialism.
Democrats are set to begin the Minnesota Senate general election with an advantage, according to the early polling from Mason-Dixon Polling & Research. We are entering the final weekend of there being no calcio ahead of the 2026-27 season kicking off next week. And just nine days away from Juventus beginning the new campaign against Frosinone, their goalkeeper situation is very much just as unsettled as it was — and likely much more now! — than it was back at the end of the 2025-26 season when we all knew a change was needed.

However, it remains difficult to determine whether he has developed as expected, with his performances continuing to be inconsistent.

The Men's First Team fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Inter in the first 2026/27 pre-season match in Australia.
The Nerazzurri took the lead in the first half through Federico Dimarco and doubled their advantage in the second half via Andy Diouf. In the closing stages, Juventus pulled one back through Chico Conceicao.
Juventus tried to control possession from the very first minute, whilst Inter sat back and looked to exploit the ****** es. In the 3rd minute, Edon Zhegrova swung a free-kick into the box and Ange-Yoan Bonny got there first, conceding the Bianconeri's first corner. Shortly afterwards, Kenan Yildiz, with a fine piece of play, set up Andrea Cambiaso, who was stopped by the Nerazzurri defence.
The first real shot of the match came from Inter. In the 11th minute, following a corner taken by Federico Dimarco, Nicolo Barella struck a volley from 22 metres out but failed to hit the target. In the 18th minute, Juventus had their first attempt, with Zhegrova's left-footed shot from distance saved by Ivan Provedel.
Two minutes later, however, Inter broke the deadlock. Bonny dribbled past an opponent and played the ball across to Dimarco, who struck it first time with an angled shot that beat Michele Di Gregorio to make it 1–0.

The Nerazzurri took the lead in the first half through Federico Dimarco and doubled their advantage in the second half via Andy Diouf. In the closing stages, Juventus pulled one back through Chico Conceicao.
Juventus tried to control possession from the very first minute, whilst Inter sat back and looked to exploit the ****** es. In the 3rd minute, Edon Zhegrova swung a free-kick into the box and Ange-Yoan Bonny got there first, conceding the Bianconeri's first corner. Shortly afterwards, Kenan Yildiz, with a fine piece of play, set up Andrea Cambiaso, who was stopped by the Nerazzurri defence.
The first real shot of the match came from Inter. In the 11th minute, following a corner taken by Federico Dimarco, Nicolo Barella struck a volley from 22 metres out but failed to hit the target. In the 18th minute, Juventus had their first attempt, with Zhegrova's left-footed shot from distance saved by Ivan Provedel.
Two minutes later, however, Inter broke the deadlock. Bonny dribbled past an opponent and played the ball across to Dimarco, who struck it first time with an angled shot that beat Michele Di Gregorio to make it 1–0.

The Men's First Team beat Chelsea 1-0 in their first friendly of the pre-season Summer Tour.
The victory was part of the Hong Kong Football Festival 2026. The decisive moment came courtesy of Edon Zhegrova, who scored a superb goal in the second half of what was a tightly contested match.
Juventus got off to a very good start, immediately posing a threat with a long-range shot from Manuel Locatelli, set up by Douglas Luiz, which went just wide. As the minutes ticked by, however, Chelsea stepped up a gear, taking control of possession without, however, managing to take the lead.
The English side came close to scoring first with a header from Danny Welbeck following a cross from Geovany Quenda, then with Quenda setting up Marco Palestra, who was denied by an excellent defensive intervention from Pierre Kalulu. In the 29th minute, it was Michele Di Gregorio who came to the Bianconeri's rescue to save a close-range effort from Jamie Gittens.
Juventus responded with character, particularly towards the end of the half. Jeremie Boga created several dangerous moments down the left flank, first delivering a dangerous ball into the Chelsea box and then testing Robert Sanchez twice, who was on hand to make the saves. The teams went into the break with the score at 0–0.
