Jake and Romy Reiner testified before the Los Angeles grand jury that indicted their brother Nick.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office confirmed Nick's siblings spoke in court as part of their brother's murder case. Just days ago, he was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of their parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
Nick is now facing a new alleged special circumstance of lying in wait.
Within a statement unsealed in court last Wednesday, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said, "This was a profound betrayal by someone who was loved and trusted by the very people he is accused of killing.
"The indictment unsealed today also adds a special circumstance allegation that the defendant committed the murders by means of lying in wait," the attorney continued. "We hope that by having a grand jury return an indictment in this case it will bring us one step closer to a trial and achieving justice."
