Luciano Spalletti ***** ures he 'evaluated carefully' Kerim Alajbegovic and Randal Kolo Muani before Juventus signed them, but Inter were 'more of a team than us' in today's friendly.
The Bianconeri are making many changes after a campaign that saw them finish sixth in the Serie A table, missing out on Champions League football.

Andrea Cambiaso has often been one of the Juventus players linked with a move away from the club, but this summer has been unusually quiet for the full-back. Clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester City have considered moves for him in the past, with both teams seeing the defender as an attractive target.
However, with Juventus prepared to sacrifice one of their top players to raise funds and strengthen their squad, there has been less interest in Cambiaso than there was several months ago. The Bianconeri will be pleased to retain one of their key performers, although their supporters may be surprised that clubs have not pushed harder to sign him.
Some players needed time to adjust under Luciano Spalletti, and Cambiaso was one of them. The full-back certainly did not stand out for Juventus under the manager during the second half of last season, although he remains a talented player and an important member of the squad.
His lack of standout performances may have contributed to the reduced interest in his services, despite his previous links with some of Europe's biggest clubs. Juventus could therefore continue to rely on him as they look to strengthen the team.
Cambiaso's agent, Giovanni Bia, has now addressed the situation. He said via Tuttomercatoweb:

Miralem Pjanic played a role in Kerim Alajbegović choosing to move to Juventus after coming very close to signing for Chelsea, but the extent of his influence remains a point of interest. Chelsea are one of the big-spending clubs and have become an attractive destination for young players, with the Blues giving them opportunities to prove themselves on the pitch.
Chelsea were keen to sign Alajbegović from Bayer Leverkusen, and he had even agreed to move to the London club. However, before the transfer could be completed, Juventus hijacked the move and secured his signature.
The Bianconeri have now added Alajbegović to Luciano Spalletti's squad, bringing in one of the most exciting teenagers in world football. His arrival represents a major coup for Juventus, particularly after Chelsea had appeared to be close to completing the transfer.
Juventus had an important connection that could help convince the youngster to choose Turin. Pjanic, a fellow Bosnian, was able to offer his perspective on the club and explain what he believed the move could mean for Alajbegović.
Pjanic has now broken his silence on the role he played in the transfer and suggested that Juventus is already a club capable of selling itself to players they want to recruit.

Reports in Italy claim that Everton have expressed an interest in signing Douglas Luiz from Juventus this summer, but the Brazilian is adamant that he still has a part to play under Luciano Spalletti and is determined to prove his worth to the Bianconeri supporters.
Douglas Luiz joined Juventus in a €50m deal from Aston Villa in the summer of 2024, but despite an impressive string of performances in the Premier League prior to his Serie A switch, the Brazilian struggled to replicate the same form in Italy.

In the end, he made just 19 Serie A appearances across his first season, averaging just 27 minutes of action per outing.
After a disappointing first season in Turin, Douglas Luiz left Juventus to join Nottingham Forest on loan with an option to buy, but after making just eight appearances in the first half of the 2025-26 season, that loan deal was cut short and the Brazilian would go on to return to Aston Villa for the remainder of the season.

Jonathan David's future appears to be away from Juventus, and Luciano Spalletti's decision against Chelsea suggested that the manager may not be relying on the Canadian striker this season.
David is a talented poacher who can be clinical in front of goal, but aside from his finishing ability, he has struggled to offer much more when playing for the Bianconeri. His limited impact has raised questions about his role in the squad.
After returning to training following the World Cup, David would have expected to start the match against Chelsea. However, Spalletti chose to begin with Arkadiusz Milik instead, which appeared to indicate that the manager had other preferences in attack.
That decision was followed by another difficult moment for the striker. During his time on the pitch, David was unable to make a significant contribution and struggled to influence the game in Juventus' favour.
David spent his minutes on the field running without creating a major threat, and he could not help the Bianconeri find the goal they needed. As a result, Spalletti decided there was no reason to keep him on the pitch.

Juventus have placed Jonathan David, Edon Zhegrova and Nicolas Gonzalez on the transfer market and want to sell them before the transfer window closes, according to Sport Mediaset.
The three attackers have failed to make the desired impact since moving to the club, and Juventus are becoming increasingly unwilling to wait for them to rediscover their form.
The officials at the Allianz Stadium believe the players should have performed at a higher level, but the club no longer wants to be patient with them as they look to reshape the squad.
Juventus want a new look for the team this season and are determined to keep only players they believe can make a significant contribution.
Luciano Spalletti would have preferred to keep Gonzalez, but the player has informed the manager that he wants to leave. Meanwhile, David and Zhegrova are viewed as disappointing signings who have not met expectations.

Juventus have been linked with at least two Parma players since last month, and they maintain a strong interest in Zion Suzuki, but a third Parma star has now appeared on their radar.
The men at the Allianz Stadium have become increasingly active in the transfer market in recent days as they step up their efforts to make Luciano Spalletti's team stronger than it is currently.
The club sees Spalletti as a top coach who needs the right players around him, and they believe he can thrive and bring trophies back to Juventus if he is provided with the necessary additions.
The team is starting to take shape, and Alessandro Circati could be added in the coming weeks. According to Tuttojuve, Juventus consider him one of the finest players in the Parma squad and are monitoring his situation closely.
The Australian defender is already regarded as one of the top centre-backs in Serie A, and his performances have been one of the reasons Parma avoided serious relegation concerns last season.

Juventus and Inter Milan could complete a swap deal as both clubs continue to explore ways of strengthening their squads. With each side interested in a player from the other team, an exchange could prove to be a practical solution that benefits everyone involved.
The Bianconeri have been interested in signing Davide Frattesi for some time, with Luciano Spalletti keen on a reunion. Juventus believe the midfielder could add quality to their squad and remain attentive to any opportunity that could make a deal possible.
Inter Milan have now turned their attention to Nicolas Gonzalez as they look to add another winger to their squad. The Argentinian has established himself as a quality player over the last few seasons and is viewed as someone capable of strengthening their attacking options.
According to Calciomercato, both clubs have started talks involving Frattesi and Gonzalez as Juventus look to give Spalletti one of the players he believes he can get the best from. The report adds that Inter are equally interested in Gonzalez because of their need for a new winger.
The report also states that Gonzalez performed well during his loan spell at Atletico Madrid last season. It further claims that he has insisted he does not want to play for Juventus again, making a permanent departure, including as part of a swap arrangement, a sensible outcome for all parties if an agreement can be reached.

Men's First Team coach Luciano Spalletti spoke to the press after the match between Chelsea and Juventus, the fourth friendly of the 2026/27 pre-season. The game ended 1-0 to the Bianconeri and was decided by Edon Zhegrova's superb goal in the second half.
"These are tests that reflect the progress we're making. I liked the fact that we always stayed united as a team throughout the match, both when we were under pressure on the edge of the box and when we launched counter-attacks. We created some excellent chances and could have achieved even more. Our approach was always characterised by solidarity and the ability to put into practice, all together, what needed to be done at every moment of the match. I saw a very active team that was always close to the ball. Chelsea can do it all: they can build from the back, they can finish, and they can really drive the game forward in terms of tempo and pace. They're a top-class side and, for that very reason, it was important for us not to back down in the face of these situations."

Luciano Spalletti explains the positives from Juventus beating Chelsea 1-0, updating Kenan Yildiz fitness, and why Jonathan David was hauled off. 'He couldn't do more.'

The Bianconeri had only one new signing in the starting XI in Hong Kong, defender Zeki Celik, and overall looked a long way off the side that will be picked for competitive games this season.
It was nonetheless a positive to beat Chelsea 1-0 with the Edon Zhegrova curler, and keep another clean sheet in their summer tests.

Juventus have not given up on Alexander Sørloth, with Luciano Spalletti still keen to add the Atlético Madrid striker even after the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani, and a deal that could hinge on the future of Nico González.
According to Tuttosport, Spalletti has long admired Sørloth as the kind of penalty-box target man his system craves, and personally contacted the Norway international to outline his plans.
Talks with Atlético had been opened under the previous regime of Damien Comolli and Marco Ottolini, and Sørloth was said to be enthusiastic about a move to Turin, only for Juventus's boardroom upheaval, Comolli's exit and the arrivals of chief executive Giovanni Carnevali and sporting director Frederic Massara, to slow everything down.
Atlético's valuation of around €40m has been a further obstacle.

Fabio Paratici's busy summer continues with Fiorentina's 7th incoming transfer of the season (9th if you count the loan redemptions for Marco Brescianini and Giovanni Fabbian). The DS has gone back to familiar territory again and grabbed rightback João Mário on loan from Juventus. According to LaViola.it, it's a €1.8 million initial fee and a €9.5 million option.
I wasn't particularly high on this move when the rumor broke a couple weeks ago and I'm no higher now. João Mário Neto Lopes is 26 and has 3 caps for Portugal but I don't see him as anything more than a depth piece. He's got the requisite pace and technical ability to look very good in a YouTube compilation, sure, but his disastrous defending means that he struggles to make a positive impact over 90 minutes.
A Porto product, João Mário moved to the Juvenuts last year for €12 million but suffered a Mattia Vitiesque trajectory: unable to get on the pitch for either Igor Tudor or Luciano Spalletti, he was loaned to Bologna in January but failed to elbow past Nadir Zortea for minutes under Vincenzo Italiano and the Oscar Mayers declined his option. I can't imagine he'll shoulder past (sigh) Alex Jimenez in Florence. His arrival also sounds the death knell on Dodô's time with the club.
That's enough negativity for now. João Mário should be Perfectly Fine as a low-cost backup. If he pops, another €9.5 million won't feel onerous at all. After all, this is a guy in his athletic prime with plenty of Champions League experience. The worst-case scenario is that he rides the bench for a season and then returns to Turin. My fervent hope, however, is that he bursts into the team and starts all 38 Serie A games, wowing everyone with his two-way play and cementing himself in Fabio Grosso's XI because that would mean noted creep Jimenez wouldn't be playing for this team.
Hey, all of a sudden I'm a huge João Mário fan. Bem-vindo e boa sorte!

Whilst plenty of rumours are circulating regarding the future of Canadian forward Jonathan David in Turin following his abysmal debut season with the Bianconeri since arriving as a free agent from Lige 1 outfits Lille, GIFN can exclusively reveal that the Brampton-born forward will not force an exit from Juventus as he desires remain under coach Luciano Spalletti for an additional season.

Following Jonathan David's dreadful first season with Juventus, in which the 26-year-old marksman only tallied 6 goals and 4 ******* ists in 35 games-played within the Italian top-flight league, the Bianconeri would be prepared to offload the Canadian international after only one season.
As it stands, the Old Lady have not received any concrete offers for David from potential suitors despite a few inquiries. It is understood that David does not intend to force a Bianconeri exit as the former Lille talisman still feels he has much more to prove at Juventus, but would part ways with his current club if the Italian giants accept a bid from a club that suits all parties involved.

Manchester United outcast Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly keen to join Juventus this summer, but the Italians must sell first. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turin giants are facing a race against time to offload unsettled Jonathan David.
David, who joined Juventus on a Bosman deal last summer, endured an underwhelming first season in Serie A. The Canadian striker scored just six goals in 35 league appearances, while it's also worth noting that he fell out of favor with the home crowd at the Allianz Stadium.
Therefore, Juventus have put the former Lille star up for sale. Despite arriving in Turin as one of the most highly rated center-forwards in Europe's top-five leagues, there's currently a shortage of suitors for David, whose future could determine the club's pursuit of Zirkzee.
Meanwhile, Juventus have already signed Jeff Ekhator and are now on the verge of bringing Randal Kolo Muani back to the club, with the latter expected to replace Dusan Vlahovic. However, with Lois Openda gone after a disastrous campaign, Luciano Spalletti is eager to land Zirkzee as well.
The Dutchman made a name for himself at Bologna before earning a big-money move to Man Utd in 2024. Yet, he has never settled in the Premier League. After netting just nine goals in 75 matches for the Red Devils, he has found himself on the fringes at Old Trafford.

Juventus had many needs in the summer transfer window, but perhaps the most pressing was along the front line.
With Dusan Vlahovic out of contract and Jonathan David and Loïs Openda on the outs after horrific debut seasons, there had been a serious question about who exactly would play up front, especially at the No. 9 position.
The rumors have been swirling for what seems like months, but we're finally on the cusp of answering the question.
Juventus' two big new attacking signings are mere steps away from their respective "officially official" articles. Attacking midfielder Kerim Alajbegovic arrived at Caselle Airport on Saturday afternoon, and reportedly headed straight to J Medical for his medical. The Bosnian international was accompanied by his countryman and former Juve midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
Alajbegovic, who won't turn 19 until September, has already been capped 14 times by Bosnia and Herzegovina, scoring twice, including against Qatar in the group stage of the World Cup this summer. He played at RB Salzburg last year, scoring 13 times in 44 games in all competitions. That prompted Bayer Leverkusen to buy him back from the Austrian side, looking to make a quick profit on excellent professional debut. Leverkusen had made an agreement with Chelsea, but Alajbegovic rejected the deal over concerns about playing time. The deal is reportedly for €33 million plus another €7 million in bonuses, and Luciano Spalletti has already intimated that he'll be the team's trequartista in the coming season.

Juventus are expected to sign another centre forward after Randal Kolo Muani, but according to Gazzetta, the Bianconeri must first offload Jonathan David and then continue pursuing Joshua Zirkzee, Mateo Pellegrino, and even their ex-star Dusan Vlahovic.
Juventus are looking for even more attacking reinforcements after securing a deal with PSG for Kolo Muani, who is expected to land in Turin in the coming days.
According to Gazzetta, coach Luciano Spalletti hopes to welcome another centre-forward and currently, Manchester United's Zirkzee tops the Bianconeri's list.
According to the report, there have already been positive contacts between Juventus and Zirkzee's entourage.
The Serie A giants have also held talks with Parma for Pellegrino, and Spalletti still hopes to bring Vlahovic back after the Serbian star left the club at the end of his contract this past June.

The long — very, very, very long — negotiations for Randal Kolo Muani are now a thing of the past, with Wednesday bringing the news that Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain had finally agreed to a deal for the 27-year-old Frenchman. It won't be too long before Kolo Muani is walking through the doors at J Medical again, undergoing his medicals and then shaking hands with Giovanni Carnevali and Luciano Spalletti.
The saga is officially a thing of the past.
For that fact let us be thankful.
But as we know, there's still a ton of work to be done on this roster by Carnevali and his new right-hand man Frederic Massara. We also know that Wednesday also brought news that Juventus have agreed to a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Bosnian teenager Kerim Alajbegović, who is another move seemingly out of nowhere without nearly as much of a build-up as the Kolo Muani saga.
Carnevali and Massara still have plenty of work to do — maybe too much to count when you factor in there's still a lot of deadweight to try and clear from the roster before the summer window closes.

Juventus have played the first 180 minutes of a very busy summer friendly schedule. (If only the summer mercato was as busy as the team will be over the next couple of weeks, right? I'll let you decide that for yourself.) And because of a handful of players having staggered returns from their respective post-World Cup breaks and now a few other players having to deal with preseason ailments, Juve manager Luciano Spalletti has had to fill the void with the limited number of in-house options he has.
Or, as we saw over the weekend against Standard Liège, with academy players who might normally only see minutes late in friendlies as the senior players build up their stamina. Spalletti rolled out a starting lineup on Saturday that was full of primavera and Next Gen players — a good opportunity for those same teenagers but also a sign of where this team currently is as players work their way back into the squad.
Some of those youngsters, in no particular order, to appear — and even make a start — in Juventus' first two friendlies of the summer have been:
Adin Ličina
Augusto Owusu

It didn't take long for us to have our first Juventus injury of the worry for preseason training. And just like the most notable one that is basically carrying over from the end of the 2025-26 season that had us all wondering how the heck the best player on the roster was going to look when he played in his first World Cup, this is something that has not gone away since Juve's season-ending draw to Torino in May.
So while Kenan Yildiz's lingering knee issue will certainly be a topic of discussion when he returns from his deserved albeit shortened summer vacation after spending a few weeks in North America last month, the first day of Juventus players rolling up to Continassa for training and medical exams revealed something.
More specifically, a thing on Khephren Thuram's right knee.
That is because the knee issue that hampered Thuram late in the 2025-26 season is still present. And that was evident as Thuram walked out of J Medical after Monday's checkups with a fairly large wrap on his right knee — a clear sign that the femoro-patellar syndrome is still a thing. Thuram has not been training with the rest of the group at Continassa as manager Luciano Spalletti leads his first preseason in Turin, and it's unclear when one of Juventus' most important players will actually join the rest of his teammates as they wait for the small number of World Cup participants to arrive over the next couple of weeks.
Thuram is not expected to take part in the first preseason friendly of the summer on Saturday when Juventus travel to Switzerland to face old friend Stephan Lichtsteiner and FC Basel.

The World Cup is heating up. Only four teams remain in the race for the World Champion’s crown: the first semifinal takes place tonight and pits France against Spain, while tomorrow night Argentina and England will face off for the second ticket to the final.

At the same time, the transfer market never stops, with negotiations heating up and fresh twists emerging. Let’s take a look together at the biggest stories of this Tuesday, with Serie A’s top clubs taking center stage.
Juventus are working to trim their attack and find a new home for both Loïs Openda and Jonathan David, both coming off a very disappointing season in black and white. According to SportMediaset, Lens have renewed their strong interest in the Belgian, but the deal remains complicated because of his salary of around €4 million: the French club would need Juventus to cover part of his wages to make the move sustainable.
David’s situation is also still open. As reported by Tuttosport, the Canadian turned down an offer from Trabzonspor, but his name was reportedly put forward by an intermediary to Paris FC. The French club are looking for an international signing and could become an interesting option for Juventus, who are determined to find a solution after Spalletti’s technical rejection.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus are interested in USMNT striker Folarin Balogun and are preparing the first offer to sign Franck Kessié as a free agent.
Juventus have made just one summer signing so far, welcoming Italian winger Jeff Ekhator from Genoa, but new directors Giovanni Carnevali and Frederic Massara are working to give coach Luciano Spalletti more reinforcements.
According to Gazzetta, the Serie A giants are ready to send an offer to sign ex-Milan and Atalanta star Franck Kessié as a free agent.
The 29-year-old refused to sign a contract extension with Al-Ahli and is open to returning to Serie A, but his agent has demanded over €5m in signing bonus, Gazzetta claims.

Juventus have identified Fikayo Tomori as a potential replacement for Federico Gatti, with the Milan centre-back now open to making the move to the Bianconeri, according to Get Italian Football News, citing La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Tomori's position at Milan has become uncertain following the club's signing of Mario Gila from Lazio, which has effectively reshuffled the defensive hierarchy at San Siro. Coventry City had been tracking the England international, but that option – a return to the Championship with a newly promoted club offering no European football – has not appealed to him.
A key factor in Juventus's thinking is sporting director Ricky Massara, who was the architect of Tomori's original move from Chelsea to Milan and is now operating from the Continassa. That existing relationship gives Juve a meaningful advantage in any approach. Tomori had rejected a transfer in January 2025 and turned down Tottenham around the same period, but the source reports his stance has shifted.
Gatti, meanwhile, is set to leave in search of regular starts, with Napoli the reported destination. The Partenopei need to offload a player before they can formalise that deal, which is currently stalling the entire chain – but Tomori represents a ready-made safety net for Thiago Motta's successor Luciano Spalletti as Juve reshape their backline. The club has been active in that area already, pursuing centre-back reinforcements through multiple avenues this window.
Tomori's current deal at Milan runs until 2027, meaning the Rossoneri hold real leverage and any departure would require a negotiated fee rather than a discounted exit. With defensive turnover already a theme at Juventus this summer, and Lloyd Kelly also a candidate to leave, Tomori could expect a significant role rather than squad cover. At 28, with four-plus years of Serie A experience, he fits the profile Juve are targeting – a proven defender comfortable at the top end of the table and in European competition.

Juventus have revived their interest in Fikayo Tomori, roughly 18 months after a move for the Milan defender collapsed when the player turned it down.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via CalcioMercato, the Bianconeri are once again weighing up the centre-back, drawn to his experience and Serie A grounding, a profile that fits Luciano Spalletti's wishes.
Any deal, however, depends on outgoings. Giovanni Carnevali's hierarchy want to lighten the squad before adding to it, and Federico Gatti is among those who could make way.
Squeezed out by Bremer and seeking more regular minutes, Gatti would command a fee that generates a healthy profit, with Napoli and moves to Turkey lingering in the background as possible routes out.

Brahim Diaz is enjoying an outstanding World Cup with Morocco, who have reached the quarter-finals and are set to face France.
The Real Madrid midfielder’s performances have not gone unnoticed, particularly by Luciano Spalletti, who is reportedly determined to bring him to Juventus, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Juventus’ interest in Brahim is nothing new, but the report suggests that Spalletti has intensified his efforts behind the scenes to sign the Real Madrid ace.
The Italian coach is said to be pressing the club’s directors to make the 26-year-old one of their priority signings this summer.

Juventus have made an enquiry about Parma striker Mateo Pellegrino, according to Gianluigi Longari, as they continue to weigh up their attacking options this summer.
Randal Kolo Muani remains the priority up front, Luciano Spalletti’s clear preference, with talks ongoing, but the Bianconeri are casting a wider net.
In Longari’s report, via AlfredoPedulla.com, Pellegrino’s name came up as a player Juventus have asked about, the Argentine forward coming off an impressive season at Parma.

Interestingly, the interest in Pellegrino reportedly surfaced during Juventus’s contacts over goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, another Parma man.
