Three LPGA golfers have won consecutive tournaments in 2026. Might there be a fourth this week?
Miyu Yamashita of ******* an, who won last week's CPKC Women's Open in a rout by nine shots, shot 2-under 70 on Friday. She had it to 10 under and the solo lead at one point but a late bogey dropped her into a three-way tie for the lead at the FM Championship.

Will Harris spent his spring and summer months trying to provide his best player advice regarding her future. For Harris, the Troy High girls' basketball coach, that meant having long conversations with his daughter, Amaya Harris, regarding whether she'd remain with the Flying Horses or leave to play at a prep school.
Father and daughter spent the majority of that time prior to the start of the new school year believing they'd both stay with Troy. But the opportunity that presented itself for Amaya Harris to head to Darrow School - a member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council that claimed a 2025 Class AA ***** le - was one that was too good to pass up.
Amaya Harris, 15, is a 6-foot guard who led Troy to the Colonial Council ***** le during the winter and was named the league's Most Valuable Player as a freshman. She has reclassified and is now a member of the Class of 2030, and is already in attendance at Darrow.
"It is definitely different, but in my past few days I have really been enjoying it, for sure," Amaya Harris said. "It was definitely a hard decision. I was going back and forth on it. Saturday's Red-Blue intrasquad scrimmage showed some of the promise of the 2026 Arizona Wildcats and answered some of the questions, but there were still some left open when the Red team emerged victorious in four sets (20-25, 27-25, 25-18, 15-10).
Red was superior in kills (56-35), hitting percentage (.181 to .109), and blocking (10.0 to 5.0). Both teams had four aces, but they struggled overall on serve.
The initial team lineups were made to be as competitive as possible. Neither team was dominated by presumed starters or returners from last year's team. After the second set, the roster was shaken up where more of the returners and presumed starters were stacked on the Blue team, but that didn't slow down the Red squad.
The Blue team started with Carlie Cisneros and Payton Woods at outside hitter, Britt Carlson at opposite, Journey Tucker and Maya Flemister at middle blocker, Harmony Sample setting, and Brenna Ginder at libero.

Yubol, the second-round leader, had a 68 to match Schubert at 16-under 200 with a round left on the tree-lined Columbia Edgewater Country Club layout.

MKS Inc. (NASDAQ:MKSI) held its second-quarter earnings call on August 6, and the numbers described one of the company's strongest quarters in years. Revenue jumped 28% year-over-year to $1.25 billion while profit grew three times faster than sales. Yet on that same call, the company's own finance chief admitted growth is starting to cost something. That tension, blazing revenue growth paired with a quiet margin warning, defines where this AI-linked semiconductor supplier stands heading into the back half of the year.
Management described demand accelerating across the entire business. Semiconductor revenue climbed 28% year-over-year to $554 million, up from 13% growth just one quarter earlier, as NAND upgrade cycles and advanced logic investment pick up steam. Electronics and Packaging revenue jumped 44% to $381 million, powered by what executives called the strongest chemistry equipment demand the company has ever seen, tied directly to AI server buildouts. Specialty Industrial revenue rose 14% to $313 million on datacom and defense strength.
To keep pace, MKS is doubling capacity at its Guangzhou chemistry equipment factory, expected online in the third quarter of 2027, while its new Malaysia supercenter has been sized to handle industry-wide wafer fab equipment spending of $200 billion to $250 billion. That growth is reaching the bottom line too: non-GAAP earnings per share hit $3.30, up 86% year-over-year, as operating margin expanded 480 basis points to 25.6%. While J.K. Rowling became a household name as the author of the wildly popular "Harry Potter" books, she's spent the past several years making headlines for a very different reason. Rowling's views on the trans community have drawn widespread scrutiny, particularly since the COVID-19 era, with critics accusing her of transphobia. Several "Harry Potter" alumni have since spoken out against her comments, making their own positions on transgender rights clear. Now, another member of the franchise has done the same.
Bel Powley, who will play Petunia Dursley in the upcoming "Harry Potter" series coming to Max this winter, spoke with The Telegraph and said she was completely against the author's comments about transgender people.
"I strongly disagree with J.K. Rowling's views on gender," she said. "I think that the trans community deserve safety and dignity and respect and total acceptance. But I love Harry Potter. I grew up with the books. I am from that first generation of readers and, again, I love magic and spookiness."
Powley's comments come after the famed author made headlines after speaking about trans people. The St. Louis Cardinals entered Monday night's game against the Chicago Cubs with an urgent need to turn their recent downward spiral around. The Chicago Cubs and specifically their bats seemed determined to not allow that to happen.
Matthew Liberatore started the game for the Cardinals who planned to piggyback his start with Hunter Dobbins for the final half of the game. David Peterson, who the Cardinals hit hard in their last encounter, made that seem like a distant memory as he held St. Louis and their struggling offense to a minimum of opportunities.
The Cubs scored on Matthew Liberatore in each of the first 3 innings. In the top of the 1st inning, Liberatore walked Pete Crow-Armstrong, but then picked him off of first to the delight of the "Tarps Off" crowd in right field. Chicago got the last laugh, though, as Suzuki and Bregman hit back-to-back doubles giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead.
