Björk and Mugler make a compelling match, particularly when you consider their shared fascination with nature, technology and transformation. But this collaboration goes far beyond simply wearing a fresh-off-the-runway look.
On the same day Miguel Castro Freitas presented his Mugler Spring 2027 Naturalia X collection, Björk wore a custom look for a DJ performance in Poland.
Her look combined the collection's purple **** erfly-print second-skin top with a black leather corseted high-waisted skirt, but it was the headpiece that connected Castro Freitas' Mugler with one of the house's most celebrated chapters. Björk wore a fringed feather creation from Thierry Mugler's legendary Les Insectes Spring 1997 Haute Couture collection.
That archive addition feels particularly apt considering Naturalia X explores the relationship between nature and technology, the artificial and the primal. Castro Freitas has also described Björk as a longtime inspiration.
Her involvement extended to the runway presentation itself. 'Öll Birtan' featured on the soundtrack, while excerpts from the Venus as a Boy and Possibly Maybe music videos appeared in Casper Sejersen's visuals throughout the venue.

The Princess of Wales is always poised, elegant and professional during her royal engagements, and she kept her composure even when subtly asking the press to step backwards as she walked by amid an engagement in Norfolk.
It was in June 2020, when COVID-19 restrictions were still in place, that Kate, who was then the ***** ss of Cambridge, made her first face-to-face public engagement since lockdown began. The royal visited Fakenham Garden Centre near her country home, Anmer Hall, and she was seen holding her hands up to distance herself from the press amid the 'two-meter rule'.

She could be heard saying: "Hello, how are you? This is two meters," as she moved slightly away from them and stretched out her hands. She then headed to greet employees of the centre, again at a safe distance.
During the visit, Kate shared that her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all love visiting garden centres. She also highlighted their enthusiasm for gardening at home, revealing that George enjoys playing with Venus flytraps and that all three children were thrilled to grow tomato plants from seeds, and they grew as tall as the young royals themselves.

NEW YORK (AP) — Serena Williams is getting back on the court against Maya Joint — this time with sister Venus by her side.
The Williams sisters were drawn Tuesday to face the team of Hao-Ching Chan and Joint, who beat Serena at Wimbledon this summer, in their opening women's doubles match at the U.S. Open.
Serena Williams, 44, returned this year after four years out of action and lost to Joint, a 20-year-old from Australia, 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-3. She injured her knee in the match and had to pull out of her planned doubles match at the All England Club with Venus, 46.
But they are set to compete at the U.S. Open, where the Williams sisters won the ****** le in 1999 and 2009 and are 27-7 in their nine appearances. They last played in 2022, losing in the first round in what was expected to be Serena's final match in Flushing Meadows.

Serena Williams' return to tennis hasn't resulted in many wins. Though she's had some doubles success, Williams' big return to singles ended in disappointment, as she was eliminated at the first round at Wimbledon.
Despite that, Williams had a choice to return to singles play at the 2026 U.S. Open, but opted to pass on that opportunity. Instead, she'll play doubles with her sister Venus at the event.
But that doesn't mean Serena has completely given up on her singles career. She told GMA on Monday that she feels like she needs to return to the court for at least one more singles match.
When asked, Williams said, "I'll probably play again. I have to. After some of those returns, I think I need to play."
She added, "I think I will. But this isn't something permanent, obviously. I just really want my children to see me play at a different age."

Venus Williams lost her 15th singles match in a row as she was beaten by fellow American Sofia Kenin in a 2am finish at the US Open.
The 46-year-old very nearly took the first-round match into a deciding set, but 2020 Australian Open champion Kenin saved seven set points to win 6-2 7-6 (8-6).
The match did not begin until 00:13 local time in New York as it followed Mariano Navone's five-set victory over Novak Djokovic on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
It was the latest starting match in US Open history, and there was barely 1,000 spectators left by the end.
"It's not ideal," Williams - who was given a wildcard to play her home Grand Slam tournament - said about the midnight start.

American Sofia Kenin beat 46-year-old compatriot Venus Williams 6-2 7-6(6) in a US Open first-round match that began at 12.13am on Monday, the latest start in women's tournament history.
Kenin, the 2020 Australian ‌Open champion, will next face top-ranked American Jessica Pegula.
The match at Arthur Ashe Stadium got underway after Novak Djokovic's five-set defeat by Mariano Navone, with a sizable contingent of fans staying on well past midnight for one more look at Williams, who was playing as a wild card in her 96th career Grand Slam main draw appearance.
Williams said afterwards: "It's not ideal. I would have preferred something else definitely. It wasn't great for either of us, so I think we both tried our best.
"I just don't know any other sport where you have to start that late. I definitely think there's room for improvement there. It's not easy to do in the first round. It's not easy to do it at 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. in the morning to try to find your rhythm and play your best, but I tried my best."

#williams #round

NEW YORK — As the clock struck midnight in Queens, Sofia Kenin and Venus Williams had yet to play a single point on Arthur Ashe Stadium, as the previous five-set match between Novak Djokovic and Mariano Navone went four hours and 36 minutes, with the 24-time Grand Slam champion being sent packing in the first round of a major for the first time in 20 years.
The ladies took the court a mere 10 minutes after the calendar turned to Aug. 31, and when the crowd had finished rubbing their eyes, yawning, and trying to stay awake, Kenin dispatched the 46-year-old two-time US Open champion 6-2, 7-6.
Because of the late start, the match was supposed to be moved to Louis Armstrong Stadium, but both players said they wanted to stay at the original venue at Ashe.
Williams was making her 26th main-draw appearance at the US Open and still had a doubles tournament to play in with her sister, Serena, after receiving a wild card to compete, just as in her singles entry. She was also making her 96th Grand Slam appearance, the most in the Open Era.

NEW YORK (AP) — Venus Williams bowed out of her 26th U.S. Open singles appearance early Monday morning, falling in straight sets to fellow American wild card Sofia Kenin after not getting on the court until midnight.
The 46-year-old lost 6-2, 7-6 (6) in what could be the final singles match at a Grand Slam, if not her illustrious career. It was Williams' 14th consecutive singles defeat dating to her last victory in Washington in July 2025.
Williams has now lost six in a row at the U.S. Open since winning in the first round in 2019.
She and her 27-year-old opponent waited extraordinarily long to take the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium, delayed by Novak Djokovic's 4-hour, 36-minute defeat to Mariano Navone that threatened to move them next door to Louis Armstrong Stadium. The men's action ended just in time to play on Ashe — but not before making some history.
At 12:13 a.m., it was the latest start to a match at the U.S. Open, six minutes later than the previous record of Aryna Sabalenka against Ekaterina Alexandrova in the round of 32 in 2024.

The English landscape has been scorched by the multiple heatwaves this summer has brought, and it transpires that King Charles' beloved Windsor Castle hasn't escaped the devastation. A brand-new aerial shot, taken from an aeroplane window, has revealed the extent of the damage on the land surrounding the 956-year-old building.
The photograph was shared by Royal Collection trust on Monday, and the caption read: "If you're flying into Heathrow this summer keep an eye out for a special view of Windsor Castle that not everyone will get to see. These fantastic shots of the Castle, taken from a plane window, were shared with us recently.
"Did you spot the bird's-eye view of the Venus Garden with its perfectly laid out circular patterns?"
Royal fans were quick to point out the burned yellowing grass, with one simply writing: "I see drought..." and another adding: "Aside from everything being horribly dry, it really looks amazing from above." A third penned: "I just can't get over how DRY everything is!" with a fourth commenting: "it's strange to see it all parched."
Luckily, some of the trees and decorative hedges have retained their verdant nature, but the grass is clearly blanched.

In what could be her first step on the road back to the U.S. Open, Serena Williams played tennis on U.S. soil for the first time in nearly four years Monday, teaming with her sister Venus in doubles at the Cincinnati Open. The sisters looked rusty in a first-round match against Marta Kostyuk and Peyton Stearns, losing 6-2, 1-6, 1-0(8).
It was just Williams' fourth match, and her first on a hard court, since she opened the second chapter of her illustrious career earlier this summer. Four years after saying she was "evolving away" from tennis after the 2022 U.S. Open, the 23-time Grand Slam champion began her comeback on grass in June, pairing with Canadian rising star Victoria Mboko to win a doubles match at Queen's in London and ending her expedited grass-court season with a first-round singles loss at Wimbledon to the Australian Maya Joint in three tight sets.
The Williams sisters, who together have won 14 Grand Slam doubles ****** les, were supposed to team up for doubles at Wimbledon but had to withdraw before their first match because of a knee injury that Serena, 44, picked up playing Joint.
Serena Williams hasn't yet announced her plans — for singles and either of the doubles events — for the U.S. Open later this month, but if she decides she is fit enough to play, the opportunity is there for her to follow the same playbook that she used ahead of Wimbledon and contest a couple of doubles matches before taking to the singles court. The U.S. Open is holding three wild-card entries open for its lid-lifting mixed doubles tournament, the field for which was announced Monday, which could allow Williams the opportunity to get more matches under her belt. The U.S. Open's main draw singles event begins Aug. 31.
On Monday, Williams looked to be moving well in a first set that was understandably sluggish considering her lack of recent matches.
