Mandy Moore is facing another round of "mean girl" accusations, this time over an interaction from more than two decades ago!
The actress has been pulled into a new conversation after Christy Carlson Romano recalled an awkward encounter with Moore at a 2000 party for "The Princess Diaries." Romano said the interaction hurt her, bringing fresh attention to Moore after she was recently linked to another friendship drama.
Mandy Moore was recently drawn into controversy surrounding Ashley Tisdale's "toxic" mom group essay. However, Moore and Hilary Duff pushed back against the idea that any "mean girl" behavior occurred.

Christy Carlson Romano is looking back on her time working with Even Stevens co-star Shia LaBeouf
Despite writing in her new memoir that it felt as though executives tried to "pit [Shia and me] against each other," Romano doesn't blame Disney for their tense relationship
Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star is out on Oct. 6
Christy Carlson Romano is looking back on her breakout role in the Disney sitcom Even Stevens and opening up about where her relationship with co-star Shia LaBeouf stands today.
Romano recently caught up with PEOPLE to discuss her new memoir, Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star, out Oct. 6, in which she delves into her tense relationship with LaBeouf, 40, who played her younger brother on the series from 2000 to 2003.

Christy Carlson Romano knows how to play a role, but finding herself has proven to be her greatest performance.
The Emmy-nominated actress and Disney Channel alum looks back on her turbulent upbringing in the spotlight in her debut memoir "Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star" (out now).
Romano, alongside fellow Disney darlings Shia LaBeouf, Hilary Duff and Raven-Symoné, epitomized teen stardom in the early 2000s, appearing in beloved TV shows and movies such as "Even Stevens," "Cadet Kelly" and "Kim Possible."
Despite her success, Romano often felt adrift in young Hollywood, intimidated by the upper echelons of prime-time dramas and glossy magazine covers.
"Looking back, I was really just trying to fit into whatever opportunity was thrown my way, rather than kind of create my own identity so that opportunities would find me in a different light," Romano tells USA TODAY. "I didn't have a stylist or a publicist, and I didn't really invest in myself the way that maybe I should have, to get to know exactly who I wanted to be, even if [that] changed over the years."

Christy Carlson Romano is ready for the next chapter of her life, but at one point, her story was nearly cut short.
The Emmy-nominated actress and former Disney Channel star, who pulls back the curtain in her debut memoir "Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star," was dealt a harrowing scare last year after she was accidentally shot in the face.
In February 2025, Romano was shooting clay pigeons in Texas with her husband, Brendan Rooney, for his birthday when someone from the couple's party "unsafely fired in the wrong direction," hitting her in the face, she shared on social media at the time.
The "Even Stevens" alum, then 40, was rushed to the hospital, where she learned that she'd been shot in five places, including a fragment of bird shot getting lodged behind her right eye.
"It's taught me that life goes by in a flash, and not just the flash of a shotgun, but the flash of time," Romano tells USA TODAY ahead of the book's Oct. 6 release. "One of the things that unpacking my life did for me was really showcase just how fast it's gone and how fast it will continue to go."

The incident, along with an early-detection cancer scare in February, has taught her important lessons about resilience and personal growth
Romano's new memoir, Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star is out on Oct. 6
Christy Carlson Romano is opening up about the near-death experience that gave her a new outlook on life.
The actress, 42, delves into her "really crazy life experiences" in her new memoir, Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star (out Oct. 6) — from childhood stardom on Disney Channel hits Even Stevens, Kim Possible and Cadet Kelly to toxic relationships and substance abuse — and says she is still learning to embrace the hardships that come her way.

Humanoid robots are showing meaningful progress beyond controlled demonstrations, with advances in autonomy, dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive real-world tasks. But widespread commercial deployment still remains a work in progress.
After spending a week meeting with leading robotics labs, engineers and investors across the San Francisco Bay Area, researchers found that most humanoid robots remain in development, training, and tele-operated demonstrations. Where real-world deployments exist, they are generally closer to pilots than clear return-on-investment opportunities, according to a report published Wednesday by Citrini Research.

Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) business is in an interesting spot. The company saw a significant sales rebound in the second quarter, with revenue rising 26% year over year to reach $22.5 billion. Recent reports also suggest that the company's share of the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) market has risen sharply amid a substantial sales contraction for the overall industry. And while the company's net income fell 5% annually in the second quarter, the business still recorded net income of $1.11 billion in the period.
On the other hand, positive net income doesn't tell the whole story because the metric doesn't include capital expenditures (capex) that are recorded as ****** ets on the balance sheet. With Tesla betting big on its robotaxi project, Optimus humanoid robots, and other potential growth drivers, the company recorded $5.79 billion in capex in Q2. As a result, the business posted -$1.1 billion in free cash flow (FCF) in the period. With FCF coming up negative lately, the company's $43.5 billion cash position provides a valuable cushion.

Tesla posted substantial sales growth in the second quarter as some of the pressures facing the brand eased, higher gas prices encouraged EV purchases, and price cuts helped spur demand. On the other hand, it remains to be seen whether this sales growth momentum is sustainable -- and banking on the core EV business to be an earnings driver that can support the company's highly growth-dependent valuation seems unwise.
While Tesla has seen competitors based in the U.S., ****** an, and South Korea reduce their focus on the EV market, BYD and other China-based rivals are making inroads in the market and continue to bet heavily on long-term growth in the category. CEO Elon Musk appears to have a good grasp on the challenging competitive landscape and has been positioning robotaxis, humanoid robots, and semiconductor projects as the core elements of his company's growth strategy.

Prosper Stars & Stripes, a long/short equity fund, recently released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. In Q2 2026, the portfolio delivered a strong net return of +30.1% compared to the Russell 2000 Index's +21.5% return and the HFRX Equity Hedge Index's +10.3% return. The long book drove performance, generating a 43.2% gross contribution, while average net exposure remained relatively modest at 47%. U.S. economic growth remained resilient despite inflation concerns, elevated energy prices, and geopolitical uncertainty. Markets rallied sharply after easing U.S.-Iran tensions pushed oil prices lower, supporting renewed risk appetite. Small-cap equities benefited significantly, with Information Technology, Industrials, and Health Care leading gains, while Energy declined as crude prices fell. Year to date, the Composite returned +23.7%, slightly ahead of the Russell 2000's +22.6% and well above the HFRI Equity Hedge Index's +9.7%. Additionally, you can review the Portfolio's top 5 holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Prosper Stars & Stripes highlighted Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE:VPG). Headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE:VPG) specializes in precision measurement and sensing technologies. On September 14, 2026, Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE:VPG) closed at $60.49 per share. Over the past month, Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE:VPG) declined 10.77%, while its shares gained 85.95% over the past 52 weeks. Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE:VPG) has a market capitalization of $805.75 million, and its shares traded within a 52-week range of $28.71 and $151.78.
Prosper Stars & Stripes stated the following regarding Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE:VPG) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE:VPG) was the largest contributor to our long book during the second quarter of 2026. Vishay's core technologies, bulk metal foil resistors and bonded foil strain gauges, are niche, designed-in sensor solutions embedded in precision instruments, such as semiconductor test equipment and aerospace, medical, military, and robotics applications. Vishay has done a lot of work during the industrial downturn to improve its footprint to have more profitable growth as the industrial economy recovers after years of tepid performance. In addition, Vishay is pursuing a substantial secular growth opportunity in humanoid robotics, with $500 to $1,200 in content per robot. Management is executing on both sides of the ledger: cutting costs while strengthening the leadership bench with new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer roles. Together, these initiatives are expected to lift gross margins and EBITDA margins from 39% and 8% in 2025 toward long-term targets of 46% and 20% over the next several years. Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has come under scrutiny following the demoralising 1-0 Premier League defeat at the hands of Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday, 13 September. The Red Devils played for more than an hour with a man advantage following Phil Foden's red card, but failed to penetrate the opposition backline.
The defeat leaves United in 13th place in the league table after four games, in which they have picked up just one win and conceded seven goals. It was the second time that Carrick's team have failed to score this season, after the opening day 2-0 defeat to Hull City at the MKM Stadium.
The Red Devils secured an impressive 4-0 win over Sabah last week in the Champions League, but that optimism evaporated over the weekend. While the season is still in its nascent stages, the situation is bound to raise questions about Carrick's position.
Acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on the matter.

Goldman Sachs raised its 2035 humanoid robot forecast nearly 5x to 6.5 million units, now valuing the market at $138 billion.
Each humanoid robot carries between $3,000 and $6,000 in semiconductor content, potentially generating up to $39 billion in annual chip demand at full scale.
Picks-and-shovels suppliers like semiconductor and automation companies offer a smarter entry than betting on which humanoid robot manufacturer wins.

Artificial intelligence is moving out of the data center and into the physical world. Autonomous vehicles, warehouse robots, and increasingly capable machines are giving AI a body, creating what Goldman Sachs calls "physical AI." The investment opportunity could be much larger than the market for humanoid robots themselves. Every machine needs processors, memory, sensors, motors, and software, creating a new demand stream for companies already supplying the AI economy.

Lady Gaga may have kept her baby news under wraps, but looking back, the pop star quietly left a trail of clues that suddenly seem a lot more revealing.
On September 11, Page Six confirmed the news that Gaga, aka Stefanie Germanotta, and her fiancé Michael Polansky welcomed their first child together. The couple was spotted in Northern California with the baby wrapped tightly around Gaga's chest. The news has the 40-year-old singer's fans excited for her motherhood chapter, but — if they've been paying attention — she's been telling the Little Monsters for quite some time.

A bright pink sandpit and a pitch black infield. A brand new trophy and historic prize money.
The World Athletics Ultimate Championship is posed as something different in the sport, but some things stay the same - pole vault star Armand Duplantis taking centre stage.
As the inaugural competition's official song, which two-time Olympic champion Duplantis wrote and recorded, was played to a sell-out crowd of more than 20,000, all eyes fell on the Swedish 26-year-old as, yet again, it was just him against the world record.
Duplantis had already secured the ****** le of inaugural Ultimate champion in the event he has long dominated, and his $150,000 (£110,000) slice of the record $10m (£7.4m) prize pot on offer.

Vivian Wilson's newest co-star is a humanoid robot, and she spends much of their time together finding increasingly strange jobs for it to do.
The 22-year-old model fronts Desigual's Fall 2026 "Born to Disobey" campaign alongside DESI84, a robotic **** istant that struggles once Wilson pushes it beyond its programming. She walks it on a leash, uses it as a golf tee and repeatedly tries to teach it how to **** ounce Desigual before ending the film with the line, "Some things aren't meant to be fixed."
Wilson's criticism of artificial intelligence goes beyond the joke. She told PEOPLE that AI is taking work from creative professionals while creating environmental costs, and she argued that AI generated art lacks the human emotion and intention behind creative work.
Her casting has also prompted comparisons with her estranged father, Elon Musk, whose companies include artificial intelligence venture xAI and Tesla, which is developing the Optimus humanoid robot. TMZ interpreted the campaign as a shot at Musk, but Wilson and Desigual have not said DESI84 represents him or Optimus.
Wilson said concerns about employment were among the reasons she wanted to speak about artificial intelligence through the campaign.

Real Madrid had a very active summer transfer window, bringing in as many as seven players and also bringing back Jose Mourinho as manager.
Now, with the transfer window firmly shut, Los Blancos have shifted their focus to renewals for players in the first-team squad.
It was revealed earlier that the club were planning renewal talks with Thibaut Courtois, with the veteran shot-stopper in the final year of his contract.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Belgium international is closing in on a new contract with Real Madrid, with an agreement between the goalkeeper and the club now almost complete.
The Belgian's current contractual situation made this an urgent matter for Madrid to address, but it looks like talks have progressed smoothly.

The last few days have been very productive for Real Madrid, both on and off the pitch. Jose Mourinho's side defeated Inter Milan 2-1 in their opening match of the 2026-27 Champions League, while there have also been major breakthroughs regarding new contracts for multiple key players.
In the last 24 hours, it was revealed that Arda Guler has committed to a new contract, with the Türkiye international set to extend his stay at the Bernabeu until 2032. Fellow midfielder Jude Bellingham is also in the process of agreeing a renewal, as Real Madrid bosses seek to tie down two players that are seen as the present and future of the first team.
Now, there is further good news for Real Madrid fans, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Thibaut Courtois has agreed to extend his stay at the Bernabeu. The veteran goalkeeper's current deal is due to expire at the end of the 2026-27 season, although he has committed to remaining at the club for at least one more year.
Courtois has been a fantastic servant for Real Madrid over the last eight years. Having joined from Chelsea in the summer of 2018, the Belgian has already racked up 338 appearances across all competitions, and he should significantly add to this number by the time he leaves the club, whenever that may be.
Courtois has already spoken of his desire to retire at Real Madrid, and if he continues to perform at a very high level, there is a good chance that his wish is granted – especially given that the club has yet to secure a long-term replacement. The decision on this matter will come when the time is right, but for now, all that matters is the Belgian shot-stopper will remain at the Bernabeu until the summer of 2028 at the very least.

Real Madrid have started the new season in excellent fashion, barring one small blip against Real Betis in La Liga.
Despite creating a truckload of chances against the Andalusian side, Los Blancos were unable to find a way past Alvaro Valles in Betis' goal.
Madrid's bright start to the season has to be attributed to the form of their superstars, including Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.
The latter has picked up from where he left off for England at the 2026 World Cup, scoring goals and influencing games for Jose Mourinho's side.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have opened active negotiations with Jude over a new contract at the club.

The Tennessee ***** ans will make their 2026 NFL season debut by hosting the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium in Week 1 this Sunday. There's so much to learn about these new-look ***** ans. Head coach Robert Saleh and the team's new coordinators Brian Daboll and Gus Bradley will officially make their debuts.
The most important aspect of the ***** ans' 2026 campaign is the development of sophomore quarterback Cam Ward. Coach Daboll is being tasked with overseeing his ascension. The ***** ans' new-look passing game will finally be unveiled versus the Jets.
This is a deep receiving core in Tennessee. Carnell Tate was drafted at fourth overall to grow alongside Ward. Wan'Dale Robinson was signed in free agency for his ability to be a high-volume, reliable weapon. Calvin Ridley is also back, and Elic Ayomanor had an excellent training camp. The ***** ans are four-deep at receiver.
Who do you think will lead the ***** ans in receiving in Week 1? It's an interesting question. Fans would love to see Tate explode after he failed to record a single preseason catch. Robinson should be Ward's most reliable weapon, possibly leading the ***** ans in targets. Ridley is a big-play threat who once played in Daboll's offense at Alabama.
Running backs and tight ends should also be heavily involved in the ***** ans' passing attack. Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Gunnar Helm, and Daniel Bellinger will play notable roles in Daboll's offense. Ward will be tasked with spreading the ball around to a plethora of players.

Liverpool are reportedly set to lose a talented prospect from their academy to one of their biggest rivals.
The Reds have made a happy habit of acquiring prodigious gems from the underage setups of other clubs across the UK, with Harvey Elliott (Fulham), Rio Ngumoha (Chelsea) and Trey Nyoni (Leicester) among the standout examples in recent years.
However, the shoe is now on the other foot as a certain club from along the M62 put the final touches on the signing of an up-and-coming talent from Merseyside.
On Monday evening, Fabrizio Romano took to X to report that Manchester United have completed a deal to sign Liverpool academy midfielder Isaac Konde, with the Italian including his trademark 'here we go'.
The 16-year-old is 'all set' to join the Red Devils after 'formal steps' were completed over the past couple of days.

Roma, barring any surprises, will not intervene in the free agent market.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Giallorossi have decided not to rush and will wait until the January transfer window to complete their squad, especially the attacking winger.
In recent days, Roma have reportedly been offered Raphaël Guerreiro, a free agent following his last stint at Bayern Munich.
The Portuguese's profile, however, apparently failed to fully convince Gian Piero Gasperini, and a formal negotiation never materialized. Guerreiro therefore remains in search of a new club.
A similar situation applies to Jadon Sancho, another name floated by the Giallorossi management.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Isaac Konde from Liverpool, with Fabrizio Romano on X reporting the deal. For Liverpool, it is a frustrating departure. For United, it is another example of a clear academy recruitment strategy focused on securing elite teenage talent before pathways become more established elsewhere.
Konde is highly regarded in youth circles and has built a strong reputation as an explosive attacking player. He is most effective from the left, although his flexibility across the front line is understood to be a major part of his appeal. He can play from either flank and also through the middle, which makes him a valuable profile for any academy structure looking to develop adaptable forwards.
The 16-year-old featured for Liverpool Under-18s last season, but his next step will now come at Manchester United, where he is expected to begin with the Under-18s setup. From United's perspective, the move aligns closely with the wider approach being shaped at academy level, an area viewed internally as central to both sporting progress and long-term value creation.
That context matters. United have placed increasing emphasis on attracting top prospects from around the country, and Konde's arrival fits squarely within that model. He joins a system that already contains major young attacking talent, including JJ Gabriel, and his addition is likely to raise standards and competition in the age group immediately.
For Liverpool, losing a promising young attacker to a domestic rival will sting. Academy football can be unpredictable, and not every prospect reaches senior level, but clubs still work hard to retain the ones viewed as having genuine upside. Konde clearly falls into that category, and this is the kind of move that will be noticed closely by those tracking youth development at both clubs.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Remember the name Lilia Calvert, she's made her arrival, and she's not going anywhere.
Rutgers beat Princeton 4-2 on Sunday at Yurcak Field, and the freshman who gave away the penalty that let the Tigers back into the match in the first half scored twice in four minutes to end it in the second. Both were the first goals of her college career. Both came on the only two shots she took all night. In between, she was pulled off the field twice.
Rutgers arrived at 0-1-3, four matches into a season that has produced a shot profile better than its record and nothing in the win column to show for either. The Scarlet Knights had led Providence by two with half an hour left eight days earlier and gave the lead back inside 69 seconds. Before that came two scoreless road draws and an opening loss at Tennessee. This was the second home match Rutgers has actually played this fall, with the Boston College opener still unscheduled after the weather took it.
Princeton came in at 2-3-0 and with considerably more to lose. The Tigers were picked first in the Ivy League preseason poll after winning a second straight Ivy **** le in 2025, opened the season 3-0 over Loyola (Md.), and were playing their second match in four days following a trip to Columbus to face No. 8 Ohio State. Sean Driscoll, in his 12th season, had platooned Cecilia Cerone and Sydney Romano in goal through the nonconference schedule and gotten two shutouts out of the arrangement. Cerone played all 90 on Sunday and conceded four.
