HONG KONG, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Ant International launched an upgraded version of its artificial intelligence model on Thursday, signing up major global banks as financial institutions accelerate the adoption of specialised AI to manage liquidity risks.
The Singapore-based fintech giant rolled out its Falcon Time-Series Transformer Model 2.0 and has partnered with six large banks including Citi, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered, and Barclays, according to Kelvin Li, the firm's general manager of platform tech.
The launch comes amid an accelerating global race among financial institutions to embed AI into their core operations.
Li said the model specialises in financial scenarios and has an edge over general-purpose large models, which have "yet to achieve a universal breakthrough in the financial sector."

Is Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) stock overbought... and overpriced?
Worries over a Morgan Stanley report yesterday, which compared the percentage of the S&P 500 index that is Sandisk stock versus the percentage Sandisk occupies in the portfolios of large institutional investors -- and concluded Sandisk is "over-owned" -- spooked investors yesterday. By close of trading, Sandisk stock had fallen 9%.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
As we approach the mid-day mark Wednesday, Sandisk stock continues to drift lower -- down 2.2% as of 11:30 a.m. ET.
Morgan Stanley's number-crunchers did what they do, calculating percentages and concluding that certain tech stocks, including Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon, are all "under-owned" (because institutions don't own as much of them as S&P does). Other stocks, and Sandisk in particular, are conversely "over-owned" -- because they're more popular on Wall Street.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have developed their team over the decades via the usual ways most teams in the NBA have, finding special success through the NBA draft since their founding as the Seattle SuperSonics. Many of the franchise's top players have joined the team either through direct selections in the annual draft or via trades executed on that day.
On top of this, the Thunder have selected not only several star players through the draft but also a number of notable alumni each offseason. A few colleges have been more prominently represented than others in sourcing those prospects, though OKC has always cast a wide net as well. Both prestigious programs and smaller institutions have consistently contributed high-caliber talent to the Thunder's roster over the years.
So without further ado, let's take a look at every player who has been drafted by the Thunder out of Colorado.
Draft year and position: 3rd round (10th pick, 40th overall), 1972 NBA Draft

On August 17, Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) agreed to guarantee up to $105 billion to help OpenAI lease a massive data center in Pike County, Ohio, being developed by SoftBank-owned SB Energy. The site could reach 8 gigawatts of capacity, with the first 800 megawatts due online in 2028, and OpenAI has signed on for 20 years. Nvidia will also put $1.5 billion directly into SB Energy and will be the facility's exclusive chip supplier. It's the latest example of the company financing the very infrastructure that runs its own chips, a habit that keeps expanding even as it keeps drawing scrutiny.
The idea behind the guarantee is that Nvidia is using its balance sheet to lock up long-lived sites where its chips can run across multiple hardware generations, and the numbers behind that bet keep climbing. Revenue growth is expected to accelerate toward 97% this quarter, up from 85% the quarter before, as the company rolls out its new Rubin platform. Jensen Huang has floated $1 trillion in combined revenue across 2026 and 2027, which implies roughly $600 billion in fiscal 2028 alone. Demand isn't limited to hyperscalers, either.
SpaceX has said it will build its AI infrastructure exclusively on Nvidia chips, targeting 10 gigawatts of compute by the end of 2027, a build-out estimated to cost $150 billion to $250 billion. Add in the four largest hyperscalers, expected to spend roughly $700 billion on AI chips this year, plus a possible OpenAI or Anthropic IPO that could free up even more capital, and the picture is a company still early in monetizing an entire computing shift. The Ohio guarantee, paired with the $500 billion financing consortium Nvidia formed with six major financial institutions the week before, fits that same playbook: widen the pool of customers locked into its hardware so no single client's slowdown can shake the business.
The obvious pushback is circularity. Nvidia is effectively helping fund a customer's ability to buy Nvidia chips, first through the $500 billion consortium with BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR, Apollo, Brookfield and Goldman Sachs, and now through a direct guarantee tied to OpenAI's Ohio lease. Huang insists this isn't circular financing, but the plan to securitize AI infrastructure into a tradable ******* et class invites comparisons to how mortgage pools were packaged before 2008. Nvidia's exposure here isn't unlimited. It covers a portion of lease and power payments and a minimum-value commitment on the site, not the full $105 billion or all of OpenAI's obligations. But if OpenAI defaults, Nvidia still absorbs the difference between that floor value and whatever the site fetches if it's re-leased or sold.

Altcoins, which are cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), are usually considered speculative and volatile investments. But they're also high-risk, high-reward tokens that could have much greater upside potential than Bitcoin.
Two of the market's most closely watched altcoins are XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) and Ether (CRYPTO: ETH). Both altcoins have struggled over the past year as fears of interest rate hikes and other macro headwinds drove investors toward more conservative investments, but will one recover faster than the other when the crypto market warms up again?

Madison Investments, an investment advisor, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter for the "Madison Large Cap Fund". A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the second quarter, U.S. stock market indices achieved their best performance since 2020, driven largely by a narrow group of Artificial Intelligence-related stocks. As in the pandemic's early days, investors are fixated on who will benefit from AI, reminiscent of the late 1990s internet bubble. Against this backdrop, The Madison Large Cap Fund (class I) returned 8.4% in the second quarter of 2026, compared to a 15.2% increase in the S&P 500 Index. The current market's extreme narrowness is concerning, and history suggests this won't persist. While AI is reshaping society and the economy, today's winners may not remain so, and booms could lead to busts. Additionally, factors such as a volatile federal administration, growing budget deficits, inflation, high interest rates, and strained consumer finances will significantly impact the economy and stock market in the future. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In Q2 2026, Madison Large Cap Fund added Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE), a US-based financial services company that provides technology, data, and market infrastructure to financial institutions, corporations, and government entities. On August 19, 2026, Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) closed at $157.24 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $88.27 billion. Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) posted a one-month return of 9.75%, and its shares lost 12.30% over the past 52 weeks.
Madison Large Cap Fund stated the following regarding Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE), an operator of leading financial exchanges and ancillary data products, reported strong results in the quarter, but its stock has been caught up in the broad sell-off in ****** et-light companies that are perceived as "AI losers".
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) operates leading financial exchanges and clearing houses, as well as provides data and software to its customers. Founder and CEO Jeff Sprecher has long characterized ICE's overarching strategy as "bringing transparency, efficiency, and standardization to markets with a mission to digitize the ****** og". We believe ICE should continue to grow revenue and profits at an attractive clip over time and could even see the rate improve if AI trading strategies proliferate, ICE expands into new markets, and the mortgage market picks up after a multiyear slumber. ICE is currently priced at a decade low valuation as investors are concerned about the potential impact of artificial intelligence technologies. We believe this sentiment is misplaced, as ICE's exchanges could actually benefit from AI trading strategies, and its data and software are regulatory-compliant, largely p

DELL specializes in information technology infrastructure, workforce transformation, and technology connectivity solutions, with AI servers under heavy demand currently. In its first-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings report, Dell showed a record $43.8 billion in revenue (an 88% year-over-year gain), $16.1 billion in AI server revenue, non-GAAP per-share earnings of $4.86 (a 214% gain), and $2.1 billion returned to shareholders through repurchases and dividends. The company reports again on Sept. 3.
It's no wonder DELL shares are up 281% so far this year – and they could rise more. MoneyFlows data shows how Big Money investors are again betting heavily on the stock.
Institutional volumes reveal plenty. In the last year, DELL has enjoyed strong investor demand, which we believe to be institutional support.
Each green bar signals unusually large volumes in DELL shares. They reflect our proprietary inflow signal, pushing the stock higher:
DELL has experienced almost nothing but inflows from institutions, boosting shares over 245% in the last year. Source: www.moneyflows.com

Mission Produce gets about 85% of revenue from avocados, and a price collapse is impacting sales.
A supply glut from Mexico, not weak demand, drove the pricing headwinds, but a recovery in prices is now expected.
Mission Produce absorbs price shocks better than headlines suggest, with fiscal Q1 gross margin expanding 190 basis points despite a 30% decline in prices.
Seasonality turns in Mission's favor in the second half, with a record Peruvian harvest and management issuing upbeat guidance.
Insiders and institutions are buying, including directors, the company's largest shareholder, and elite funds run by billionaires.

Everyone and their mother know that collegiate institutions are continuously looking to generate more revenue with the ever-increasing demands of NIL and the roster "rat race."
The Big 12 has been criticized for its deal with Monster, the energy drink company with an iconic electric green "M" as a logo.
Not because of the deal itself, but because of the location of the logo on each school's basketball court and their football jerseys.
They didn't color-orient the Monster logo to the respective school's team colors.
Not too much of a classy look on an orange Oklahoma State or purple TCU jersey.

Progressive Insurance announced Tuesday that Colorado is one of 13 programs included in a new college football sponsorship agreement that will place the company's branding on the field. The deal, arranged through Learfield, will also include video board features, LED signage, digital content and other game-day activations.
Colorado joins Boise State, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Purdue, SMU, Syracuse, Texas Tech, USC and Wake Forest in the agreement. Progressive's on-field placement will vary by school, with logos expected near sidelines or at the 25- or 50-yard lines. Financial terms were not released, but Sports Business Journal reported the arrangement is expected to be a multiyear deal.
The logo will debut during the 2026 season, giving Colorado another corporate presence at Folsom Field as the athletic department continues to pursue new revenue. That has been a priority for athletic director Fernando Lovo, who has discussed expanding sponsorship opportunities as college sports move deeper into revenue sharing and NIL-driven roster building.
"We are excited to be a part of the college football landscape with this investment," Progressive media business leader Sean Freeman said in a release. "It is an opportunity to support the collegiate student-athletes at these storied institutions."
For Colorado, the agreement is less about a logo on the turf than the money behind it. The Buffs are competing in an era when every additional revenue source can affect facilities, staffing and athlete resources.

A few colleges have been more prominently represented than others in sourcing those prospects, though OKC has always cast a wide net as well. Both prestigious programs and smaller institutions have consistently contributed high-caliber talent to the Thunder's roster over the years.
So without further ado, let's take a look at every player who has been drafted by the Thunder out of Cheyney.

After the National ******* ociation of Black Journalists accused Stephen A. Smith of disparaging Black women, Stephen A. Smith is accusing the NABJ of conducting a personal hit job.
Smith received the "Thumbs Down" award at the NABJ's Saturday night gala in Atlanta, an dishonor given to individuals or institutions conducting "especially insensitive, racist or stereotypical reporting, commentary, photography or cartooning about the Black community or for engaging in practices at odds with the goals of NABJ."
With the "Thumbs Down" award typically being reserved for institutions, Smith, who brought First Take to the NABJ convention in 2024, is just the fourth individual to win the organization's biggest dishonor.
"Smith has established a recurring public pattern of disparaging commentary directed at prominent Black women across politics, sports, and media," the organization explained Saturday. "Such commentary reinforces harmful narratives, undermines the fair and respectful representation of Black women in public discourse, and stands in direct conflict with NABJ's longstanding commitment to accurate, responsible, and inclusive portrayals of Black communities."
Despite the pointed insult, the ESPN star and newfound political pundit still credited the NABJ for helping his career, calling it the "preeminent Black journalism organization existing." But Smith was blindsided by winning the award, and if the NABJ and its president Errin Haines sought to catch his attention, they succeeded. Smith responded Monday afternoon with a 45-minute retort on his YouTube channel.

That's the takeaway from a new survey (1) of global reserve managers. The Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) says it's the first time its survey has found more central banks planning to reduce their dollar exposure over the next decade than increase it.

A massive structural shift is on the way in financial markets, where artificial intelligence hardware could increasingly become collateral for securitized credit. During the August 11 episode of CNBC's Mad Money, host Jim Cramer detailed how major investment institutions are preparing to issue "compute bonds" backed by data center equipment, drawing direct parallels to established securitized credit markets.
Cramer opened his commentary by pointing out how Wall Street leadership, including Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, aligned with NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang to champion data center ***** ets as long-lasting collateral:
Today, we're learning about the possibility of institutions offering compute bonds. This time, trading compute, that's a data center ***** et class, not unlike those securitizations in auto loans. There's Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, talking about the viability of the data center, long-lasting value of the chips in these warehouses full of servers. Then you had a series of ***** ans of finance talk about how logical the whole thing is. Then David Solomon, the CEO of Goldman Sachs, piped up and pushed them too.
To digest the mechanics of these proposed instruments, Cramer highlighted that compute bonds operate under the exact same structural framework as mortgage-backed or auto loan securities:
What you didn't hear, or at least I didn't hear until I digested it, was that these would be securitizations, just like securities backed by home loans or auto loans. Hence the strong endorsement of Goldman's David Solomon who can see the logic… Now, you may be wondering, will these pieces of paper be backed by the full faith and credit of Jensen Huang and NVIDIA? That's very funny, but no. But neither are the securities based on auto loans or home loans. There's a construct at work here, though. There's a belief that the ***** ets don't depreciate quickly, if at all.

Fall camp is underway for all 138 FBS institutions. And while the start of fall camp is generally viewed as a positive among college football fans, there is one harsh reality that comes with it — injuries.
Notable injuries have been already reported from the camps of both 2025 American Conference Championship Game participants:
RB Jamauri McClure — foot
Tulane running back Jamauri McClure missed practice on Tuesday, Aug. 11 due to an injured left foot, per Guerry Smith of The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate. Smith reported McClure watched practice from a scooter and could return early in the season per head coach Will Hall, although the running back's status for the Sept. 5 opener at Duke may be in jeopardy.
McClure ranked first in rushing yards among the running backs on Tulane's 2025 American Conference champion roster, despite making only three starts. As a redshirt freshman, he posted 540 rushing yards and two touchdowns on a 6.5 average. Nearly all of McClure's production occurred after the calendar flipped to November. He eclipsed the century mark twice, posting 122 on Temple in Week 13 and 121 in the conference ***** le game vs. North Texas. McClure averaged 98 rushing yards per game in his final five performances, capping it off with an 84-yard showing in the College Football Playoff loss to Ole Miss.

Both River Plate and Boca Juniors are going through one of the most difficult periods of their modern history. Massive spending, coaching carousels, and an apparent struggle to adapt to a rapidly changing football landscape have put Argentina's two biggest clubs on remarkably similar paths that are headed in the wrong direction.
The Superclásico remains one of the biggest events in world football, but the institutions behind it are struggling to live up to the extraordinary standards they established over the past two decades. River Plate and Boca Juniors continue to have enormous fanbases worldwide, some of the largest commercial operations in South American football, and the ability to spend more than most of their domestic rivals. Yet the results on the pitch increasingly fail to reflect those advantages.
That contradiction is at the heart of the current crisis. Argentina's two biggest clubs have more resources than almost any other team in the country, but neither has been able to turn those resources into a sustainable sporting project.
Argentine soccer has changed dramatically over the last two decades. There was a time when the Primera División was structured around the familiar Apertura and Clausura tournaments, a format that gave Argentine football a recognizable rhythm and identity. The system was not perfect, but supporters understood the stakes and knew that two separate league champions would be crowned each year.

China just handed Deutsche Bank a bigger role in the renminbi's global rollout. That sounds technical, because it is. But the strategic message is simple: Beijing wants more trade and finance to move through its own currency pipes, not just the dollar's.
Deutsche Bank has been appointed by the People's Bank of China as a renminbi clearing bank in Frankfurt.
That makes the German lender the first European bank to receive the designation. Most offshore renminbi clearing has historically been handled by local branches of China's big state-owned lenders, including Bank of China, ICBC, Bank of Communications and China Construction Bank.
Deutsche said it will provide direct end-to-end processing, clearing and settlement services for cross-border renminbi transactions for European companies and financial institutions.

Just one of the wild actions and comments on Donald Trump's manic Monday would rank among the most notorious things another president ever did.
By close of business, Trump had taken strides toward the presidency he's always wanted: one of unfiltered authority flowing from the presidential Sharpie, shredding traditional institutions and providing a platform for demagoguery.
Often, the round-the-clock cacophony from the White House seems expressly designed to stifle public comprehension of each individual act planned to irrevocably change the country and the world.
This was certainly the case on a day that fulfilled some core goals of the Trump base but also helped to explain the plunging presidential approval ratings that have Republicans looking with dread toward the midterm elections.
It all started when one of the president's former personal lawyers, now Appeals Court Judge Emil Bove, swore in another of the president's former personal lawyers, Todd Blanche, as attorney general.
