The Trump administration imposed 50% tariffs on three categories of imports from Canada, dairy, alcohol, and cars, citing discriminatory actions. NBC News' Monica Alba reports on how Trump is also considering additional tariffs due to the Canadian wildfires.

In the early morning of July 1, federal immigration officers in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, pulled over a white SUV. An unmarked Immigration and Customs Enforcement car stopped in front of the SUV to block its path, while other law enforcement vehicles parked behind it, according to surveillance video obtained by CNN affiliate WGAL.
"Get out of the car now," one officer said after he approached the driver's side.
When the driver did not emerge after officers repeatedly ordered him out of the SUV, an officer shattered the window. The SUV then drove away, appearing to clip the ICE vehicle stopped in front of it before turning the wrong way down a one-way street. One ICE officer fired his gun as the SUV drove away from the officers and hit a parked car.
In a statement, an ICE spokesperson said the driver – who the agency said had a criminal history of ******* ault, hit-and-run, and a domestic incident – had "weaponized his car and rammed an ICE law enforcement vehicle."
An ICE officer discharged his weapon, and the driver escaped, the statement said.

A US Air Force major was arrested on the steps of the US Capitol on Wednesday after delivering a speech calling for the impeachment and removal of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
The arrest of Jason Watson occurred after he spoke at a news conference organized by Removal Coalition, the grassroots, activist group said. During the news conference, Watson identified himself as an active-duty service member and wore a military uniform. Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas also attended the event.
US Capitol Police, which confirmed the arrest, said members of the public may not demonstrate on the steps of the House unless they are accompanied by a member of Congress.
Watson was "escorted" to the steps by a member of Congress, who "left the area," before police gave Watson "lawful orders to stop the illegal demonstration or he would be arrested," the police said in a statement.
"The man refused our lawful orders and was then arrested for 22-1307 Crowding, Obstructing, and Incommoding," US Capitol Police added, noting that there are other spots on the Capitol grounds where demonstrating is allowed.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President JD Vance on Thursday said the Watergate scandal that brought down President Richard Nixon would have been a blip in today's news cycle, and he drew parallels between Nixon and President Donald Trump — arguing that both were targeted by "deep state" forces.
Vance described his admiration for Nixon during a conversation at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California. Widely expected to be a presidential contender in 2028, Vance spoke at the library while promoting his new book, "Communion."
After talking about the book and his faith journey, Vance shifted to Nixon, saying the legacy of the 37th president is "enjoying a bit of a renaissance."
"If Watergate happened tomorrow, it would be like a 12-hour news story. The idea that it would have taken down a presidency is crazy," Vance said.
He went on: "If you look at the story of how the deep state took down Richard Nixon, it's not all that different from what the same groups of people, the same institutions tried to do to Donald Trump in the first Trump administration."

BUDAPEST, June 15 (Reuters) - Hungary's parliament approved a constitutional amendment on Monday that allows ‌prime ministers to serve for a maximum ‌of eight years, effectively barring former premier Viktor Orban from holding the role again.
Prime Minister Peter Magyar ousted Orban in an election in April after 16 years, gaining a two-thirds majority in parliament that allows ‌his party to ⁠roll back or change legislation passed by Orban's Fidesz, including the constitution.
• The ⁠amendment says that those who had previously held the role of prime minister for at least eight years "cannot be elected prime minister." This applies to prime ‌ministerial terms held after the date of May 2, 1990.
• Prime ministers will have to leave office after a total of eight years, or two terms.
• The constitutional amendment also paves the ‌way for the dissolution of the Sovereignty Protection Office, set up by Orban's government, that stigmatised opposition figures ‌and journalists for serving "foreign interests."

The international aid group Doctors Without Borders found a pattern of abuse and ***** ual exploitation by some local and foreign staff working in Chad along the Sudanese border, in some cases targeting underage girls or trading food or jobs for ***** with refugees, according to a confidential internal memo obtained by The ***** ociated Press.
The Doctors Without Borders report — completed in July and first reported Saturday by The ***** ociated Press — found 59 allegations of abuse and said 18 staff members were dismissed and barred from future employment. In some cases, the group told AP, the allegations couldn't be verified or the perpetrators identified. The report also said some of the repeated exploitation suggested potentially organized "sexual trafficking."
The organization said it launched the monthslong investigation in response to AP reporting that women had accused staff of ***** ually exploiting them in displacement sites in Chad, where hundreds of thousands fled from Sudan's devastating civil war, now in its fourth year. The report credited AP as playing "a fundamental role as an external whistleblower."
The findings by Doctors Without Borders — one of the largest employers and biggest aid organizations in the refugee camps in eastern Chad — indicate the abuse was more widespread than previously reported.
Sexual exploitation has repeatedly surfaced during humanitarian crises despite years of efforts by aid organizations to prevent abuse.

A showdown between Xavier Becerra and Tom Steyer in the California governor's race would have made climate policy one of the most talked-about issues through November.
Now, environmental advocates are preparing for their work to fade into the background.
Steyer, the billionaire climate activist who ran as a progressive, finished third in the primary behind Becerra and Republican Steve Hilton, the Trump-backed political commentator. His loss ended a campaign that spent millions on ads attacking Becerra for accepting oil industry money and promising to break up power companies.
"I'm proud of the enemies we made," Steyer said in a concession statement Tuesday, singling out energy corporations like Chevron and PG&E that infused millions in independent expenditure committees opposing him.
Steyer also endorsed Becerra in that statement, saying it "would be a travesty" for Hilton to win the governorship.

A 31-year-old American Airlines flight attendant was found dead along a South Florida beach, and officials say her injuries were consistent with a vessel strike.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) identified the woman as Kellie Melinda Williams, whose body was discovered in the surf near Hollywood Beach on June 3 at about 8 p.m.
According to the agency, Williams' injuries were consistent with being struck by a boat.
