Jersey's Evan Campbell has finished 12th in the 2026 Commonwealth Games decathlon after being disqualified from the 110m hurdles.
The 25-year-old clipped the first barrier and fell before rolling under the second hurdle in the opening event of day two.
He then ducked under a third barrier after getting back to his feet and was disqualified for not going over each hurdle.
Campbell finished in a time of more than 24 seconds, but was given a score of 0 points for the event, but was allowed to carry on competing in the day's final four disciplines.
Campbell has been the first-ever Jersey man to compete in a Commonwealth Games decathlon and had been 10th out of the 12 competitors at the end of the opening day.

LATROBE – Day Three of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp was unlike any Steelers practice I've covered in terms of its layout. It was an incredibly light day for the Steelers that featured players in caps and bucket hats rather than helmets as the team ran a walkthrough for the entire two hour practice.
The plays were ran at 50-60 percent speed, and it was a very energetic, laid back environment. So, with that as a prerequisite, there frankly wasn't much to take away from Day Three, but Joey Bray and I will both share the few takeaways we had from Friday morning's practice.
Germie Bernard took the field with the First-Team during practice, working largely from the slot while DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman were on the outside. Roman Wilson took some reps on the outside with the second team. This was by design, as head coach Mike McCarthy said ahead of practice that he would be looking to give Wilson some outside reps as to not pigeon hole him at one spot. – Jarrett Bailey
Throughout practice, Aaron Rodgers was under center a lot. This is something that Rodgers had stressed in his pre-training camp presser on Tuesday. Howard is the guy McCarthy has arguably talked up the most this offseason, while Allar is the hand picked developmental quarterback. It's refreshing to see a head coach so involved with the development of his young quarterbacks. If anything, it shows that McCarthy is looking toward the future and wants to get every opportunity he can at these young guys. It would be much better for the Steelers long term if one of the guys on the roster ends up being their future franchise guy, and McCarthy knows that. Howard has much more to prove over the next few weeks of camp and preseason compared to Allar, but getting that increased one-on-one time with their new head coach is crucial. – Joey Bray

Ohio State is known for its long list of standout wide receivers, and this year's roster will have no shortage of talent. But there's a name that may not be at the top of the list of potential x-factors that could raise the Buckeyes' ceiling even more. Julian Menser, who had never seen the Pfau Course at Indiana University before this week, can certainly see where the teeth of the notoriously difficult layout would come out. It's just that, playing in Golfweek's Hoosier Amateur on July 28-30, he didn't experience it that way – and that made all the difference.
"I knew it was hard, everyone said it was hard, but when you're playing good, even hard golf courses sometimes don't feel that difficult," said Menser, who is about to enter his junior year at Michigan State. "But the second you start hitting it offline, courses get really difficult. I hit it pretty well. I was hitting it off the center of the face off the tee too, so I didn't really see much of the trouble, which made it feel a little easier, but it's out there. I hit a couple wayward shots and all of a sudden, you're staring double in the face."
At the end of a final round in which four different players held the lead at some point in the day, Menser, of South Lyon, Michigan, walked away with the Hoosier Amateur **** le by a one-shot margin. Rounds of 68-70-69 left him at 6 under for the week, and a birdie on the 17th hole in the final round was key in moving him to the top of the leaderboard, ahead of Grand Canyon junior Benjamin Keil, who bogeyed the 17th. Silas Haarer, a sophomore at Liberty University, finished third at 3 under.
Key in Menser's victory also was a lack of bogeys. He only made three all week. Menser correctly realized that the Pfau would not give up many birdies – he had nine of those in 54 holes – so steadiness would be key. Menser is typically not a player who pours in a ton of birdies anyway, he acknowledged.

England men's team managing director Rob Key has not ruled out the possibility of Ben Stokes returning to international cricket before next year's Ashes, saying "anything is possible with Ben."
Stokes stepped down as England's Test captain and retired from international cricket after England lost the Test series to New Zealand 2-1 in June. That defeat came after a 4-1 Ashes series loss to Australia during the previous winter.
The 35-year-old had also been ruled out of the second Test against New Zealand after breaching a midnight curfew while celebrating England's victory in the opening Test.
There was speculation after the incident that Stokes was unhappy with the way he had been treated by England's management. On Thursday, England brought back Joe Root as Test captain and appointed Stephen Fleming as Brendon McCullum's replacement as Test head coach.
Asked if Stokes could return in time for next year's Ashes, Key told Sky Sports News: "It would be a brilliant story if he does."
Speaking after Fleming's appointment, Key said Stokes had given no indication that he wanted to return but admitted he would not be surprised if that changed.
"It would be a brilliant story if he does," Key told Sky Sports News. "He hasn't [indicated a change of heart], but I wouldn't be surprised. Anything is possible with Ben."
When asked if Stokes had damaged his relationship with England by announcing his retirement during the fourth day of the Trent Bridge Test, Key said: "No, not at all. Not as far as I'm concerned."

The Yankees' offense better wake up, as they've scored just two unearned runs in their last 22 innings. Facing a Cubs team that ranks second in the majors with 5.17 runs scored per game and third with a 111 wRC+, they simply cannot afford to give so many ABs away, New York failing to dent home plate in 28 of their last 32 innings played. Fortunately, they'll face a pitching staff that is seventh-worst with a 4.68 FIP, though it's not like the White Sox were much better in that department and were still largely able to silence the Yankees in the final two games of their just-completed series.
Will Warren is coming off one of his worst starts of the season — six runs on six hits in three innings against the Phillies. It's already the fifth start in which he has given up at least five runs, four of those coming since June 20th, Warren posting a 6.57 ERA over his last eight starts after opening the season at 7-1 with a 3.22 ERA across his first 12 starts. To me, the problems appear to be threefold: he can't get lefties out, he struggles to pitch from the stretch, and he suffers a massive third-time-through penalty. That doesn't bode well against a Cubs lineup that features five batters from the left side and is second in baseball with a .340 OBP. In 20 starts, Warren is 7-5 with a 4.41 ERA (102 ERA+), 4.16 FIP, and 102 strikeouts in 102 innings.
The Cubs declined their three-year team option on Shota Imanaga over the winter after he struggled in 2025, the two sides eventually reuniting on the qualifying offer for 2026. He has rewarded that renewed faith with a rebound performance, gaining a mph back on his fastball which has seen his chase and strikeout rates tick back up to his stellar rookie campaign marks in 2024. The 32-year-old lefty relies on hitters getting themselves out rather than overwhelming you with stuff, the four-seamer acting as a setup pitch for his splitter and sweeper. The Yankees are getting him at an awful time as Imanaga is coming off consecutive scoreless starts of at least six innings. In 21 starts, Imanaga is 7-8 with a 3.72 ERA (109 ERA+), 4.39 FIP, and 113 strikeouts in 121 innings.

Bay FC announced today the acquisition of Racing Club de Avellaneda forward Agostina Holzheier. The Argentine international has signed a four-year contract through 2029 with an option for an additional year. Her addition to the roster is pending her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate.

"This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in my career, challenge myself in a new league and represent a club with big ambitions. I'm coming with a lot of energy, ready to work, learn from my teammates and the staff, and give everything for this team and its supporters. The 22-year-old arrives at the Bay club after spending three-plus seasons with Racing and having played for River Plate and Brazilian side Gremio. She leaves the Argentine league as one of the top goalscorers and having helped Racing to be at the top of the table. LONDON (AP) — Chelsea was fined 10 million pounds ($13.4 million) and given a suspended two-window transfer ban on Friday after appealing penalties for breaching English Football **** ociation agent rules.
The club was initially given a suspended six-point deduction along with the fine but the points penalty has been replaced by the suspended transfer ban.
The FA confirmed the sanctions on the west London club, which admitted to 74 breaches in total of FA regulations covering agents, working with intermediaries and third party investment in players.
The club owners self-reported the breaches to the soccer authorities in 2022, when they were in the process of buying Chelsea from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
The six-point deduction, suspended until June 30, 2027, was imposed by the independent commission which initially heard the case. But the club appealed against that. An appeal board instead replaced the points penalty with the suspended two-window transfer ban.

Fifa's chief operating officer Kevin Lamour has become the second senior governing body official to put Gianni Infantino on blast after claiming he "deceived" staff in going ahead with plans to sell off the World Cup to private investors.
Infantino has faced staunch opposition to his Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) - the name for the commercial entity - with Uefa confirming they will boycott Fifa competitions, including the next World Cup, if plans go ahead.

Chelsea FC winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to make an immediate return to action after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) partially upheld an appeal against his four-year ban for doping.
The 25-year-old has not played a competitive match since November 2024 after returning an adverse finding for banned substance meldonium.
Having been provisionally suspended by the Football ****** ociation (FA), Mudryk was then widely reported to have been given a four-year ban – though appealed to Cas against that decision.
The body has now ruled that Mudryk can return "with immediate effect" after he accepted breaking anti-doping rules, and reached agreement on a suspension equivalent to time served.
Cas said the test displayed "a low concentration" of the prohibited substance. It added that changes have since been made to the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) technical document regarding meldonium, a cardiovascular medication.

CHICAGO -- All offseason, Michigan tight end Zack Marshall has been noting that the pass catchers in the offense have more freedom than they had before, with more ability to work to get open downfield compared to the scheme under the previous staff. Marshall says that the pass game should open up exponentially as a result. Quarterback Bryce Underwood agrees, noting how much it helps him out. He says, 'If you see it with the Utah offense last year, you're going to see the same.'
But that's not the only reason why the offense will take a step forward in his eyes.
It's not just about the scheme, per se, as much as it is about connection. Underwood says that while it's important that the players have the ability to use their athleticism and skills to get open downfield, just as important is that everyone is on the same page. And given the bonds that he and his teammates have built this offseason, the ability to anticipate each other will pay dividends in the pass game, he says.
"Overall, it's about the bond that we build off the field, work when we have our own time," Underwood said. "When we get onto the field, make sure we've got the same mindset and the same page at all times. So, that's where the freedom comes from."

Chelsea were fined £10 million ($13.4 million) and given a suspended two-window transfer ban on Friday after an appeal hearing into sanctions imposed for multiple breaches of Football ******* ociation rules.
The Premier League club were initially given a suspended six-point deduction along with a fine, but the points penalty has now been replaced by the suspended registration ban.
The club had admitted to 74 breaches of FA regulations covering agents, working with intermediaries and third-party investment in players.
Owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital self-reported the breaches to football authorities in 2022, when they were in the process of buying the club from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
The six-point deduction, which was to have been suspended until the end of June 2027, was imposed by the independent commission that initially heard the case but the club appealed against that sanction.

The Buffalo Bills were contenders in 2025, are expected to be contenders in 2026, and may have one glaring reason for no one to sleep on them next season.
Bleacher Report labeled Josh Allen still being in his prime as an MVP-caliber player as the reason to not overlook the Bills in 2026.
"Josh Allen has been and will remain one of the league's most gifted quarterbacks," Kay said. "He's proven capable of willing the Buffalo Bills to victory and constantly keeps the team in the Super Bowl hunt despite some suspect supporting casts in recent years. … Allen's combination of arm talent, mobility and improvisation will keep the Bills in the championship conversation and the team to beat in the AFC."
Despite finishing third in the MVP race last season, Allen looked like he had even more within him to produce on the field, as he recorded his fewest passing yards since 2019 with 3,668. That's a credit to his prowess as a superstar quarterback, as he did complete a career-high 69.3 percent of his passes on the year.
With strong numbers to show for, and having led the Bills to a 12-5 record last season, Allen is still in his prime, and with DJ Moore in town to be his new No. 1 receiver, the former AP MVP quarterback figures to give Buffalo a chance to win the Super Bowl next season.

The wide receiver position is absolutely loaded in both fantasy football and reality. It's so hard to put together any sort of position ranking list without feeling like you left someone off or slighted a really good player or two. And yet, I'm going to give it a shot for yet another season in this annual exercise … and I'll absolutely feel the aforementioned regret, shame, etc.
After pouring hours into charting a ton of the guys drafted the last few years for Reception Perception, I decided to sit down and rank the top-15 wide receivers who are currently 25 years old or younger heading into the 2026 NFL season (not including rookies).

One player I did not include here was Travis Hunter, who is quite likely to play more cornerback than wide receiver this season (key distinction) for the Jaguars. As a wide receiver only, however, I'm a big fan and think he could compete for a top-10 spot if he got the developmental reps he needs.
Since he entered the league in 2023, Puka Nacua leads all wide receivers with 600 or more routes in yards, first downs and successful targets per route run. Every season he gets a little bit better, with 2025 being the year he added more vertical separation to his bag.

The Blues were charged last September with 74 alleged breaches of the FA's rules around agent regulations, concerning its use of unauthorised agents or unregistered intermediaries when signing new players and then submitted false and misleading documentation to the FA. They primarily related to the seasons between 2010/11 to 2015/16, which came under the ownership of the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
The FA appeal board's written reasons reveals Chelsea "plainly disregarded" the rules and made undisclosed payments to agents or third-parties when signing players such as the Brazilian forward Willian and striker Samuel Eto'o during that time.
