Keith Downie is reporting that Sunderland and Ajax have agreed a deal that will see Simon Adingra join the Dutch side on loan for the rest of the season. The former Brighton winger, who is currently injured, will join Ajax in the Eredivisie. Last season Sunderland spent £21.5m to bring in Adingra from Brighton, but the Ivorian only managed 15 appearances for the then recently promoted Sunderland. Adingra spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Monaco.
Adingra has a deal until 2030 with Sunderland, who will be hoping that a move to Ajax will help him rediscover some form or attract potential buyers next summer. Adingra came through at Danish side Nordsjaelland, scoring 12 goals in 40 games. In the summer of 2022 he joined Brighton before immediately being loaned out to Union St Gilloise in Belgium. Adingra was great for Union during the 2022/2023 season, scoring 14 goals in 51 games and providing 13 ******* ists. On his return to Brighton he played 73 games, with 12 goals and five ******* ists. He only scored once for Sunderland during his 15 games for the club. For Monaco, he played 17 games with three goals and two ******* ists.
Ajax will be hoping that a return to the low countries will bring out the form Adingra had shown during his time across the border with Union. Ajax have already signed one winger this summer, with Ukranian international Victor Tsygankov joining from Girona.

Bruno Guimaraes was reportedly scheduled to link up with the Newcastle United squad at La Manga on Sunday night.
The other Newcastle United players having flown to the pre-season training camp on Friday.
Bruno Guimaraes having extended leave after his World Cup involvement and reported to be flying direct from Brazil to Spain and arrive on Sunday (yesterday).
However, Keith Downie of Sky Sports on Monday morning reporting: 'Bruno Guimaraes failed to arrive at La Manga to meet up with his Newcastle United team-mates at their pre-season training base as planned on Sunday night.'
The Sky Sports man though quickly correcting that, no doubt the club in touch I guess, Keith Downie: "MORE ON THIS… Bruno Guimarães left Brazil on Sunday as agreed with the club and is arriving to join the group today. Newcastle are relaxed about the situation and happy that he's done everything asked."

Newcastle United are reportedly close to finding an agreement to sign Switzerland international Johan Manzambi.
The 20-year-old has been the star player for Switzerland at the World Cup, scoring three times and making two ******* ists from his four appearances in the competition so far.
According to journalist Keith Downie of Sky Sports News, the Magpies are 'close' to an agreement for Manzambi who SC Freiburg value at around €60 million (approx £51 million).
However, there is still time for things to change with the player yet to decide on where he wants to end up next season with his recent performances drawing interest from other clubs.
Newcastle will need to continue investing this summer after having lost key players Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali this summer with Bruno Guimarães also linked with a summer exit.
