The dollar index (DXY00) fell from a 2.5-week high on Wednesday and finished down by -0.08%. The dollar gave up an overnight advance and turned lower today when the weaker-than-expected US Aug ADP employment report knocked T-note yields lower. The dollar also came under pressure on dovish comments from New York Fed President John Williams, who said inflation is continuing to trend down. In addition, strength in stocks on Wednesday reduced liquidity demand for the dollar.
The dollar initially moved higher on Wednesday after escalation of US-Iran hostilities boosted crude oil prices and pushed the 10-year T-note yield to a 2.75-year high, strengthening the dollar's interest rate differentials.

Florida-headquartered ONE Nuclear Energy said the company has executed a binding letter of intent (LOI) that would provide site control for development of Project Cayman, a 2.88-GW gas-fired power plant and 700-MW/2.88 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) sited alongside a data center complex. The LOI was signed with what One Nuclear in an August 31 news release called a "prominent Louisiana landowner group." The company said the strategy aligns with Louisiana utility Entergy's continuing buildout of regional electricity transmission infrastructure."Project Cayman, with its 2.88-GW power capacity, demonstrates that One Nuclear is committed to supporting the future economic development of one of Louisiana's most important industrial regions," said Richard Taylor, CEO of One Nuclear. "The project will deliver the reliable energy needed to support new investment, create jobs, expand the local tax base and generate additional funding for community priorities and critical infrastructure."
Project Cayman is located near the RiverPlex MegaPark, a 17,000-acre heavy industrial site on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. The location is northeast of ****** eX's recently announced $100-billion project to build its largest launch facility yet, called Starbase, Louisiana, in coastal Vermilion Parish. "ONE Nuclear is proud to invest in the region to support the rapidly growing energy needs created by other recently announced developments such as the ****** eX Starbase project and Hyundai's $5.8-billion steel mill," said Taylor. The company did not disclose details about the data center development, including the companies involved.
One Nuclear supports advanced small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) technology along with utility-scale gas-fired power plants. It currently has projects in Washington state, Texas, and New Mexico. Skip Bayless took issue with one of the most notable omissions from ESPN's Top 100 player rankings ahead of the 2026 NFL season. The longtime sports commentator made his feelings clear after Baker Mayfield was left outside the list despite another productive season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Mayfield's absence stood out because he has continued to rebuild his reputation since arriving in Tampa Bay. After reviving his career with the Buccaneers, the veteran quarterback has established himself as one of the league's more reliable offensive leaders and has helped keep the franchise competitive.

The Top 100 rankings are shaped by evaluations from league executives, coaches and scouts, making every major omission a subject of debate. Bayless viewed Mayfield's exclusion as particularly difficult to justify given the quarterback's recent production and his ability to succeed in an increasingly competitive NFC.
Mayfield has spent much of his career responding to skepticism, beginning with questions about his size and continuing through his departure from the Cleveland Browns. His path eventually included stops with the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams before he found stability and a long-term opportunity in Tampa Bay.

NEW DELHI: BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has pushed back against growing speculation over Rohit Sharma's ODI future, insisting that the former India captain is continuing to perform at a high level and questioning why his place in the side is being debated.
Speaking after a high-level Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) review meeting in Mumbai on Thursday, Saikia offered a firm defence of the 39-year-old, whose future has again become a major talking point with the 2027 ODI World Cup approaching.
"He is playing superbly in all the matches. So, what more do you want? In the last match, he scored 138 runs. So, why there is a speculation? So, I don't want to give fodder to the speculations," Saikia said.
His comments came amid reports that selectors had considered moving on from Rohit in their ODI plans, potentially leaving his participation in the 2027 World Cup in doubt.
The speculation intensified during India's ODI tour of England earlier this year, with reports suggesting the Lord's ODI could be Rohit's final appearance in an India shirt.
Instead, Rohit responded in characteristic fashion — with a match-defining performance.
He smashed 138 at Lord's, becoming the oldest Indian to score an ODI century at the iconic venue, although his effort came in a losing cause. The innings once again demonstrated why questions over his future have been accompanied by equally strong arguments for his retention.
Following the England tour, Rohit made it clear that the constant speculation did not concern him.
"If there's no noise, there's no fun. My job is inside; their job is outside. That's how I look at it," he had said. "The noise since I made my debut was there. And till the time I'm going to stay here, it's always going to be there. It doesn't really matter too much. What matters is what I do on the field. I want to try and contribute to the success of the team. That's all my focus is."
Rohit retired from Test cricket in 2025 and from T20Is in 2024, leaving ODI cricket as his only remaining international format.
The latest comments from Saikia came after a meeting attended by head coach Gautam Gambhir, ODI captain Shubman Gill, T20I captain Shreyas Iyer, BCCI president Mithun Manhas and Saikia.
The secretary had already backed Rohit before the Lord's match, saying on July 17: "Rohit is a regular member of the Indian ODI team, and he will continue to represent the country as long as he is in the scheme of things. In other words, the Lord's ODI won't be his last match."
Rohit's age remains an unavoidable part of the discussion. He will turn 40 in 2027, the year of the next ODI World Cup, and India will inevitably have to consider succession planning.

The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note rose more than 3 basis points Tuesday to 4.79%. Driven higher by concerns over the latest flare-up in the war against Iran and its effects on fuel costs and inflation, the yield touched its highest level since January 2025 in trading during the day.
The continuing bond selloff has driven up government borrowing costs around the world. Eshe Nelson of The New York Times noted today that ******* an is seeing 10-year yields above 3% for the first time in 30 years and Germany now has the highest 10-year rates since 2011 (see the Times's chart below).
"A combination of factors are prompting investors to demand higher returns to hold government debt: a flood of borrowing by the world's richest nations, expanding budget deficits, persistent inflation and few signs that countries are able or willing to take steps to improve these conditions," Nelson wrote.
Ulrike Hoffmann-Burchardi, chief investment officer of the Americas at UBS, said she expects to continue to see heightened volatility in the bond market. "With no clear path to reopening the Strait after six months of war, inflation worries remain elevated," she said in a note, per CNBC. "Uncertainty over the Federal Reserve's policy outlook, fiscal concerns, and rising AI-related debt issuance have all kept bonds under pressure."
Ed Al-Hussainy, a portfolio manager at Columbia Threadneedle, told the Times that it's difficult to "disentangle" the causes of the rate surge. "The only thing we can say right now is that they're all pointing in the same direction," he said, "and that's in the direction of higher rates, and they're doing it globally."

CBF president Samir Xaud visited Pedro Pedrossian Stadium, known as Morenão, in Campo Grande on the morning of this Wednesday (2), on the eve of the inauguration of the Football Development Center of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. Opened in 1971 and with a capacity of more than 40,000 fans, the main stage of football in Mato Grosso do Sul is receiving an investment of around R$ 1 million from the CBF to revitalize the pitch.
Xaud was accompanied by the president of the Mato Grosso do Sul Football Federation (FFMS), Estevâo Petrallás, who presented the stadium's history and detailed the progress of the work, as well as the president of the Mato Grosso Football Federation (FMF), Diogo Pécora, and the State Secretary of Tourism, Sports and Culture (Setesc), Alessandro Menezes.

In an interview with CBF TV, the CBF president commented on the importance of the institutional agenda in Mato Grosso do Sul and praised the history and renovation work at Morenão. The stadium has also hosted Brazil national team matches: a 1-1 draw with Paraguay on February 27, 1991, in a friendly; and a goalless draw with Venezuela on October 14, 2009, in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.
"Today we began our institutional visit to Mato Grosso do Sul, continuing our work toward more participatory management and closer ties with the federations. We are here at Morenão, a stadium with a history shared by the entire state population, and where the CBF has provided funds to help revitalize the stadium, including replacing the pitch, irrigation and drainage. For us, it is another joy to work to help Brazilian football as a whole and the smaller federations," he said.

We will carry her dreams forward by continuing to grow, welcoming even more guests, and sharing the warmth and hospitality of which she was so proud."
Additionally, Dollywood will construct new "experiences and installations that honor [Parton's] remarkable contributions, enduring values, and love for the people and places of the Great Smoky Mountains." The vision is to give guests "meaningful opportunities to reflect on Dolly's life, her faith, and her influence while experiencing the joy, imagination, and togetherness that have always been at the heart of her vision for Dollywood."
The Sevierville Chamber of Commerce is launching "In Dolly's Footsteps," a walking tour in Tennessee featuring historic markers at places Dolly Parton and her family frequented during her childhood.

Joe Amabile paid a heartfelt tribute to his wife, Serena Pitt, on their anniversary as he continues to recover from brain tumor surgery. The former Bachelor in Paradise star praised his wife for supporting him through both the good and the difficult moments.
Joe, who became known as Grocery Store Joe during Season 14 of The Bachelorette, marked their three-year anniversary with a special post on September 2. The 40-year-old wrote on Instagram that Pitt is "the most beautiful, caring, perfect" person. "These past few months have been pretty tough, to say the least. You have been there with me every single step of the way, taking in all the good and the bad news. You cried alone in our bedroom because you didn't want to bring me down," the Dancing With the Stars alum expressed.
Continuing his post, Joe praised Serena for standing by him throughout his recovery. He said she took care of everything from cooking and cleaning to attending his doctor's appointments. She also managed his medications and woke up with him in the middle of the night. Joe said he felt incredibly lucky to have Serena as his wife, partner, and best friend. He ended the heartfelt message by telling her he loved her "forever and always."
Joe and Serena got engaged on Bachelor in Paradise season 7 in 2021. They first tied the knot at a New York City courthouse on October 27, 2022. They held a second, larger wedding celebration with loved ones in Charleston on September 2, 2023.
The former reality star first revealed the diagnosis on July 13 in an Instagram video. He said a full-body MRI scan through Prenuvo led doctors to discover an early-stage glioma. He explained that he later underwent a brain MRI. The scan showed a blueberry-sized lesion in his brain that appeared to be a glioma, which is a type of tumor.

It has been just ten days since Ashton Jeanty went down with an injury in Raiders camp and didn't return. That was Sunday, August 23, which was exactly three weeks from the start of the Raiders' 2026 season. Making today right about the halfway point. And as of today, the Raiders seem to be feeling pretty good about Jeanty's chances of playing.
Today head coach Klint Kubiak was asked for an update on Jeanty, and he said "He's continuing to improve" and as to whether he is confident Jeanty will be available for the opener, he gave a firm "Yes."
This would seem to add to what GM Johh Spytek said of Jeanty the day before.
"I expect him to be back as quick as he can, maybe quicker than some people would expect," Spytek said of Jeanty.
Now, obviously, that's not a definitive timeline. But, then again, neither is being optimistic. However, it's probably a far cry from the fears the team initially had when Jeanty went down in practice.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 1 - OpenAI has determined that one of its upcoming models is so capable that it requires extra safety layers during its development and eventual release.
The company's internal testing showed that the model, called Astra, is significantly more capable than the most advanced OpenAI model available to the public today, GPT-5.6 Sol, OpenAI officials said on Tuesday.
The ChatGPT maker is continuing to navigate intense safety concerns after OpenAI-created agents broke out of their testing arena and hacked open-source platform Hugging Face. The incident prompted OpenAI to pause much of its model development for two weeks to bolster its defenses.
Astra wasn't involved in the Hugging Face incident, but its capabilities still require more careful measures, OpenAI officials said.

Brydon Carse has again been left out of the England squad for the third Test against Pakistan with the Cricket Regulator continuing to investigate an incident at a Derby nightclub.
Carse was stood down ahead of the second Test having been arrested and then de-arrested on the Saturday before it began after featuring for Durham in a County Championship win.
Derbyshire Police later confirmed that it was looking into an allegation of **** ault on the night in question. It is not know what, if any, involvement Carse had in any alleged incident.
The seam bowler featured for his county last week but is not playing against Northamptonshire this due to "pre-arranged workload management with the ECB".
Sonny Baker was called up to the England squad as a replacement and retains his place as seam bowling cover alongside Sam Cook, though Matthew Fisher has been released from the group.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) is substantially completing the Corpus Christi Stage 3 expansion, with contractor Bechtel handing over the seventh and final liquefaction train. The project adds more than 10 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG capacity, lifting Cheniere's overall production capacity to roughly 56 mtpa, an increase of more than 20%.
The timing is favorable because Cheniere is entering a period of higher production while global LNG demand remains strong. In its latest quarterly results, Cheniere raised its 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to $7.9 billion-$8.4 billion, from $7.25 billion-$7.75 billion previously. The company also said it expects higher exports as its expansion projects ramp up. The company is not finished expanding Corpus Christi. It is also developing Midscale Trains 8 and 9, while the U.S. Energy Department has authorized additional exports from those trains.
The biggest positive is that Cheniere now has additional LNG capacity coming online at an established export facility. The completion of Stage 3 allows Cheniere to increase volumes without having to build an entirely new LNG terminal from scratch. The company expects increased exports next year as it benefits from a full year of production from its expansion projects. That creates a relatively straightforward growth path: more LNG volumes can generate more revenue, while the existing infrastructure and long-term commercial arrangements can support attractive cash generation.
Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) is positioned to benefit from continued growth in LNG consumption, particularly in Europe and Asia. U.S. LNG deliveries to Asia reached a quarterly record of 11 million metric tons in Q2 2026, while Cheniere continues to see strong demand and competitive pricing in new contract negotiations. The company's scale also gives it an advantage as global buyers seek reliable LNG supplies. The U.S. has become the world's largest LNG exporter, with Cheniere playing a central role in that export growth.
The completion of Stage 3 further increases the gap between Cheniere and competing U.S. LNG exporters. The project takes Corpus Christi's production capabilities to a much higher level and gives Cheniere greater exposure to international LNG demand. This scale can also improve the company's ability to serve customers across different markets and capture attractive destination pricing. Cheniere has historically used strong cash generation to return capital to shareholders while continuing to invest in expansion. The company is balancing shareholder returns with investments in additional production capacity.

Red Sox Rally Comes Too Late After Rookie Starter's Nightmare Outing originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Boston Red Sox nearly found another miracle against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. This time, the hole was simply too deep. Boston scored four runs in the ninth inning and brought the tying run to the plate, but its comeback attempt ended with a 9-6 loss at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox collected 11 hits and received home runs from Mickey Gasper and Jahmai Jones. However, rookie starter Jedixson Paez allowed eight runs over 3 2/3 innings, leaving Boston to spend nearly the entire night chasing Seattle.
The loss dropped the Red Sox to 75-64 and evened the three-game series at one victory apiece.
Dominic Canzone opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning. Gasper immediately answered with a 404-foot solo shot in the bottom half, continuing his impressive production since returning from Triple-A Worcester.

ESPN's NFL Live will have some new competition this season, or maybe it's old competition depending on how you look at it.
Front Office Sports reported Trey Wingo is getting the band back together, launching a new NFL show and YouTube channel with former ESPN colleagues Merril Hoge, Mark Schlereth, and Damien Woody. The OG Football Crew will debut with a NFL season preview Sept. 7, with the show continuing through the Super Bowl.
Wingo teased the idea a few weeks ago, quoting a social media post praising Hoge by saying, "What if I told you. We were putting the band back together?" It became clear Wingo was being serious about the idea when he added "stay tuned" with a link to his YouTube channel. Two weeks later, the idea seems to be coming to fruition just in time for the NFL regular season.
According to Front Office Sports, The OG Football Crew featuring a cast of former NFL Live contributors will air on YouTube every Monday to recap four NFL games from the previous day. Like NFL Live, Wingo will anchor the show with Hoge, Schlereth, and Woody contributing as ******* ysts.
The old guard of NFL Live was pitted against the new guard earlier this summer when Emmanuel Acho claimed Ryan Clark "built" the show "into the juggernaut it is today" after he was controversially laid off by ESPN. Acho added "nobody was watching NFL Live" when it premiered in 1998. The ESPN studio show might have a larger audience and following today than it did in earlier years, but it's ridiculous to claim "nobody was watching." The silly take received plenty of pushback from ex-NFL Live hosts, all who deserve credit for building the show into the juggernaut it is today.

After a banner second quarter earnings season helped push stocks to new highs this summer, there is a new combination at play that could aid the bull run going into the fall — provided oil prices don't explode above $100 a barrel and a hawkish Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh doesn't begin a rate-hiking cycle.
The next stock catalyst is the one-two punch of rising ***** yst profit estimates and fewer estimate cuts.
Earnings are bucking the seasonal revision trend and continuing to inflect upward, Evercore ISI strategist Julian Emanuel pointed out in a new note (see the chart below).
What's more, estimates for the median stock in the S&P 500 (^GSPC) have risen across top-line growth, bottom-line earnings, and free cash flow returns.
"We are living in extraordinary times," Emanuel wrote.

RB Leipzig have completed the signing of 20-year-old forward Marc Guiu from Chelsea.
The Spaniard has put pen to paper on a long-term contract running until 2031 with Die Roten Bullen.
"Joining RB Leipzig is exactly the right step for me. The club made a real effort to bring me here and, in our talks, gave me a clear idea of the role I can play in the team," said Marc Guiu.
"RB Leipzig have shown time and again that young players can develop here at the very highest level. RBL are also an ambitious club with high aspirations in every competition. I want to play my part in achieving those goals while continuing to improve every day."

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl believes the club possesses a center-back group that many teams around Europe would love to have.
Speaking to Kicker, Eberl highlighted the quality of Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Kim Min-jae, describing all three as world-class options while explaining why Bayern Munich are comfortable relying on the trio throughout a demanding season.
"It's simply the situation we have with Jona, with Upa, and with Min-jae," Eberl told Kicker. "Now we have three clear center-backs, all three world-class, you simply have to say that. I think quite a few clubs envy us for the quality of these three players. Of course, we'll need all of them given the number of games. Min-Jae really solidified last season and is continuing that now."
Eberl's comments underline the importance of having genuine depth in central defense, particularly with Bayern Munich competing across the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League.
Kim appears to have an especially important role after Eberl praised the progress he made last season. The South Korean defender has continued that development into the new campaign, giving Vincent Kompany another dependable option alongside Tah and Upamecano.

Tesla (TSLA) has apparently ended sales of its Solar Roof tiles, nearly a decade after CEO Elon Musk unveiled the product as a sleek alternative to conventional solar panels. Tesla now only offers customers its standard solar panels, with reports from installers indicating the company is no longer supplying new Solar Roof tiles.
The move marks a major retreat from one of Musk's most ambitious clean-energy concepts. Yet it does not mean Tesla is abandoning solar. Instead, the company appears to be shifting toward a simpler and potentially more scalable model centered on traditional panels, while continuing to expand its much larger energy-storage business.

Payton Tolle is one of the best stories of the 2026 season. A thoughtful prospect writer brought him to my attention early last year, knowing my affinity for a good four-seamer, a thick 'stache and a mien that would be equally at home on a small fishing boat off the coast of Bangor in 1890 as he is on a pitching mound. Tolle wears his emotions openly across his face and through his body; the joy, the devastation, the playfulness. To be pitching at the level that he is requires skill and effort, but part of Tolle's charm is the authenticity woven within all that baseball work. Maybe this won't resonate to anyone else, but there are a lot of guys who present as baseball players first and humans as a secondary classification. Tolle is distinctly a human playing baseball, and it's one of the highest compliments I can pay (see also: Gutierrez, Franklin or Wilhelmsen, Tom, among others).
It came as little surprise, then, when Tolle cited the Turnpike Troubadors as one of his favorite musical acts. There's the Oklahoma connection, of course, with both hailing from the Sooner State, but that same authenticity runs through every song Turnpike performs. And that's courtesy of Evan Felker, the band's lead singer and one of the finest songwriters of the generation.
No one here needs to read any more about the Seattle Mariners today. Honestly, we're all probably good for the rest of the year on consumption of Mariners content, but regardless of their record this is still a community, and community means continuing showing up for one another. In gratitude for you all, I offer a selection of some of my favorite Turnpike Troubadors lyrics and songs. I hope that in the ragged place baseball usually occupies, maybe they'll prompt that thrum of recognition in your chest that only good art can inspire.
"Come back from the dark somehow
Finally living in the here and now
No sign of a thundercloud following you
Don't take it personal, the world don't turn around you
Hold on to the moment like it's heaven passing through" – Heaven Passing Through

After more than two decades, Lionel Messi is bringing his highly decorated international career to an end. The Argentina captain announced Monday that he has retired from international play, calling it an "incredible experience" to play for La Albiceleste.
Messi's 21-year international career is the stuff of legends. The forward ends with a World Cup **** le, two Copa América trophies, two World Cup Golden **** and the second-most World Cup goals (21) in the tournament's history, among many other honors. Messi constantly denied father time, putting up some of his best soccer in the later years of his career and continuing to import a high standard of play on a surging Argentina team.
With a long-spanning career and too many accolades to name, it's difficult to pare Messi's career down to just a few moments, but here are a few of the most important.
One year after earning his first senior team call-up, Messi traveled to his first World Cup in 2006. Even as a long-haired teenager, Messi was already a phenomenon.
The then-18-year-old made his debut in the group stage against Serbia, and scored 13 minutes after subbing in.

Borussia Dortmund may have identified another possible replacement for the injured Giannis Konstantelias, with Polish talent Marcel Regula reportedly emerging as a serious late-window option. Polish outlet Meczyki.pl – as relayed by FT – reports that BVB have reached an agreement with both Zagłębie Lubin and the 19-year-old attacking midfielder over a possible transfer.
The deal is not yet complete, however.
Dortmund are reportedly continuing to **** s several alternatives before making a final decision, with **** nal youngster Ethan Nwaneri still among the options under consideration. Zagłębie and Regula are nevertheless said to be waiting for the Bundesliga club to give the green light.
Regula has already been linked with Dortmund this summer, with BVB interest first surfacing at the beginning of August. The Poland U21 international has also attracted attention from Cologne, who reportedly explored a move amid uncertainty surrounding Said El Mala's future.
A transfer fee of approximately €8m had previously been discussed for Regula, who currently maintains an estimated €7m market value in the latest Transfermarkt listings. The teenager could represent a comparatively inexpensive permanent solution for Dortmund after Konstantelias' serious knee injury forced the Dortmund administrative team to re-enter the summer transfer market after spending heavily to complete the squad.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are continuing to trim their roster ahead of Sunday's deadline to reach the NFL-mandated 53 players.
According to FOX Sports' Greg Auman, Tampa Bay has now made 20 cuts. The group includes quarterbacks Jake Browning and Connor Bazelak, running back Barika Kpeenu, wide receivers Dean Patterson, Eric Rivers and Jha'Quan Jackson, tight ends Devin Culp and Kenny Fletcher, guards Elijah Klein and Nash Hutmacher, and tackle Marshall Foerner.
Defensively, the Bucs have moved on from defensive linemen Jayson Jones, Josiah Green and Travis Shaw, outside linebacker Yasir Holmes, inside linebackers Nick Jackson and John Bullock, and safety Rashad Wisdom.
Tampa Bay also waived kicker B.T. Potter and long snapper Scott Daly.
The most notable move is Browning, whose departure cleared the way for undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels to serve as Baker Mayfield's backup quarterback. More moves are expected before the 6 p.m. ET deadline as the Buccaneers finalize their initial 53-man roster for the regular season.

The Oregon Ducks coaching staff is hard at work recruiting the quarterback position in the 2028 class, reportedly emerging recently among the favorites for four-star Tristin Gaines, who's scheduled a gameday visit this fall. But that's not stopping Dan Lanning and Co. from continuing to cast a wide net, as four-star passer Tommy Devany has scheduled a gameday visit as well in Eugene.
Devany, the No. 16 quarterback and No. 236 player overall in the 2028 class according to 247Sports Composite, will be in Eugene for the Ducks' Nov. 14 matchup against the Michigan Wolverines. He's also set to take gameday visits to California (Sept. 5), Arkansas (Sept. 26), Utah (Nov. 7) and Stanford (Nov. 28).
A Clovis, CA, native, Devany competes for Buchanan High school and is the 18th-ranked player in the talent-rich state of California. As a sophomore in 2025, Devany completed 62% of his passes for 2,408 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding another three scores on the ground.
Standing 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Devany collected a bevy of offers earlier this year, but appears to have narrowed his lift down to five with Oregon included. Having received the commitment of Will Mencl, the No. 4 quarterback in the 2027 class, it's not necessarily imperative for the Ducks to have a quarterback commit in the 2028 class.
After all, they survived without one in the 2026 class after four-star Bryson Beaver signed his letter of intent but entered the transfer portal and landed with the Georgia Bulldogs. Oregon has dipped into the transfer portal for both depth and starting-level talent, and could do so in the future.

WEST ALLIS, WI – IndyCar continues to make adjustments to its doubleheader schedule at the Milwaukee Mile. With rain continuing at the track, the first race of the weekend – the Snap-On Makers and Fixers 250 – will not resume at 8 a.m. Sunday as planned after its Saturday evening postponement.
The second race – the Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 – will begin at 1 p.m., before the Snap-On Makers and Fixers 250 resumes. Then, IndyCar plans to resume the first race at approximately 6 p.m., about three hours after the checkered flag for the second race.
Pato O'Ward – who won at the Milwaukee Mile in 2024 – leads the first race through 90 laps, with Felix Rosenqvist and Alexander Rossi behind him. Alex Palou will start on the pole with O'Ward joining him on the front row for the second race.
This is now the second race of the IndyCar season that won't be completed on the day it was supposed to. The Music City Grand Prix was delayed from July 19 to July 20 after heavy rain in Lebanon, Tennessee. Before the Music City Grand Prix, IndyCar hadn't delayed any portion of a race a day since 2018 at Barber Motorsports Park.
IndyCar still intends to do all 250 laps and miles for both races. National Weather Service anticipates that showers and thunderstorms will continue until 3 p.m. (2 p.m. CT) in West Allis, Wisconsin.
