Aaron Judge has been cleared to begin light workout activity, and the New York Yankees captain said he will return this season from the rib injury that's sidelined him since May 31.
"Oh, I'll be back this season. I don't know why I wouldn't be," the three-time AL MVP said Wednesday at Yankee Stadium. "That was always the plan to come back — sooner than later, definitely. But I never had a thought of not playing this year."
Judge was on the field in baseball gear Wednesday afternoon, stretching, jogging and doing shuffle slides with a resistance band. He was given the green light to take a step forward in his recovery progression after undergoing his latest scan Tuesday.
"Better news. Healing up. So, you get a chance to progress a little bit, do some running, do some more upper-body stuff, and kind of progress towards getting back out on the field and swinging it," he said. "I wish it was completely healed and the fracture was gone and start playing tomorrow, but that's not the case. But, great step forward."

NEW YORK — Aaron Judge jogged and stretched on the field at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, marking a significant step in his recovery from a broken rib.
Judge received clearance to begin light activity — including running and upper-body resistance work — after medical scans Tuesday showed progress with his injured rib.
The fracture is not completely healed, Judge said, but it has improved to a point where the Yankees slugger could ramp up his workload.
"It was great," Judge said after his on-field work. "I'm moving fine, moving great. My biggest thing was I wanted to start testing it a little bit and see what we've got, especially after getting some good news, so we can get one step closer."
Judge, 34, has not appeared in a game since May 31 due to the right rib stress fracture, an injury he believes he suffered while diving in right field more than a month before then.

CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) said on August 3 that a North Korea-linked adversary injected a malicious dependency into at least 131 Mastra AI framework packages on npm (Node Package Manager). Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) owns GitHub, which acquired npm in 2020 and operates the registry at the center of the attack chain.
This was a developer-supply-chain breach with unusually efficient distribution. Stolen maintainer credentials let the attacker publish poisoned Mastra versions tagged as the latest releases. The malicious easy-day-js dependency then ran during installation, exposing developer machines and build pipelines to credential theft and remote code execution. CrowdStrike found that 87% of identified software-registry threats in the first half of 2026 involved npm packages.

Microsoft's role cuts both ways. GitHub controls the registry infrastructure, and its advisory database powers npm audit, so repeated account takeovers increase the burden to harden publishing and dependency scanning. Yet Microsoft's own June 17 investigation identified more than 140 affected Mastra packages and detailed detections across Defender Antivirus, Defender for Endpoint and Defender XDR. The same incident that creates reputational risk for npm also gives Microsoft another reason to sell integrated security.
The more direct demand read-through belongs to CrowdStrike. Its fiscal Q1 2027 revenue grew 26% to $1.39 billion, while annual recurring revenue rose 24% to $5.51 billion. Hedge-fund ownership also increased to 79 portfolios at the end of Q1 2026 from 67 in Q4 2025, according to Insider Monkey's database. The valuation is the restraint: a roughly $190 billion market value equals about 32 times CrowdStrike's $5.91 billion to $5.96 billion fiscal-year revenue guidance. The business must sustain growth near the mid-20% range for that multiple to remain comfortable.

This stems from the four-time MVP's recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show where he called out the network for not discussing the scandal involving Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. Rodgers also called out Dr. Anthony Fauci in a rant pertaining to the COVID vaccine. Rodgers doesn't keep his distain for ESPN a secret, saying that he gave the network a list of specific people he would speak to for an interview.
Rodgers infamously had beef with ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, telling Schefter to "lose my number" amid trade rumors back in 2023.

According to Norwegian outlet TV2, the municipality of Risør has cleared the crown prince and princess to rebuild the storm-wrecked dock. It's a modest approval, capped at six square meters, but it matters; without a working dock, the island is barely reachable, and any future revival of the couple's long-shelved architectural project would need one regardless.
The permit came with a catch. A companion request — for a seaside platform of the kind common along Norway's coast — was withdrawn after the state administrator recommended against it. With The Pat McAfee Show broadcasting live from Steelers training camp on Monday, it was no surprise that Aaron Rodgers was set to make an appearance. How that appearance went was either surprising, or exactly what you might have expected, depending on how much attention you've been paying to appearances on the show over the years.
The biggest headlines Rodgers made stemmed from his jokes about "pleading the fifth," referencing the recent Senate hearing at which former NIAID director Anthony Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment. He went on to call Fauci an "absolute coward." Rodgers has made his feelings on the COVID-19 pandemic exceedingly clear, so those comments, while fiery, didn't come as all that big of a surprise.
What was a bit more shocking was the shot that Rodgers took at ESPN, the network he was appearing on. Rodgers first expressed frustration with ESPN for spending time covering his own vaccination status while not covering the recent hearings. He later pivoted to calling out the network for what he believed was a lack of coverage of the scandalous relationship between NFL insider Dianna Russini and New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel that came out over the summer.

What makes this so disappointing is that Curry is not simply a gifted player: He is a global figure whose public standing rests on more than championships. It rests on judgment, character and the sense that he takes serious things seriously. When a man like that signs a reported 10-year, $400 million deal with Li-Ning, he is not just changing brands. He is lending his good name to a company shadowed by one of the great human rights scandals of our time.
Sports at their best can do something rare. They can take fame, which is often fleeting and shallow, and turn it toward service. They can show that athletic greatness and moral witness do not have to live in separate worlds. That is why decisions like this matter. The larger the platform, the larger the responsibility.
Curry's decision is so troubling because it places the honor attached to athletic excellence beside a system of coercion. The U.S. Department of Labor states that since 2016 the Chinese Communist Party has subjected Uyghurs and other mostly Muslim minorities in Xinjiang "to genocide, state-imposed forced labor, and crimes against humanity." It describes labor transfers, surveillance, indoctrination and coercive factory work as part of a broad machinery of control.
These are not careless accusations. They are specific charges documented by the U.S. government and corroborated by international investigators.

"A bride would have attendants to protect her from evil spirits," Dr. Angela Thompson, who teaches sociology at Texas Christian University, told The New York Times. "By having several women who are dressed alike, the spirits, or kidnappers, wouldn't know which person was the bride." She also noted that this was a superstition that you can find in places like Rome and China, dating back thousands of years. So since the bride's dress is white, the bridesmaid dresses should also be white.

A high-profile election ***** yst said Texas state Rep. James Talarico (D) may give Democrats a real shot at finally winning a statewide race in Texas given the electoral weakness of his opponent, state Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).
"Since 1994, I've gotten call after call virtually every day from Texans in politics on the Democratic side, saying, 'This is the year. We're finally gonna do it,'" University of Virginia Center for Politics Director Larry Sabato said Thursday in an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett that referenced a Fox News poll showing Talarico with a 51 percent lead over Paxton's 48 percent.
"But you know what? I'm starting to believe it's actually possible this year," he added.
Sabato argued that while Talarico was a "great candidate," the real opportunity for a win hinged on Paxton's political liabilities. "Paxton is so awful," he said.

CHICAGO — Kyle Whittingham is a tone-setter. At Michigan, he also has to be a stain remover. The 66-year-old former Utah frontman is tasked with ameliorating a program tainted by scandal.
Whittingham was hired by Warde Manuel, an athletic director who's now stepping down at the end of the calendar year after being implicated in an internal investigation "into the circumstances surrounding the conduct" of fired Wolverines football head coach Sherrone Moore. Manuel, according to an FAQ the school put out earlier this month about the investigation and its corresponding culture review, demonstrated "failures to quickly and effectively act on allegations of wrongdoing by Athletic Department employees."
Moore, notably, was arrested by police and fired by Michigan in December for what the university described as an "inappropriate relationship" with a staff member. China has started producing domestic immersion deep-ultraviolet lithography tools, Reuters reported on July 28. State-backed Shanghai Aishengna Electronic Technology Group plans to deliver machines to Semiconductor Manufacturing International, Hua Hong Semiconductor and memory producer ChangXin Memory Technologies. Production is expected to remain small, at roughly five systems in 2026 and about 20 in 2027.
The news struck ASML Holding N.V. (NASDAQ:ASML) through direct product substitution. Export controls already block the company from selling its most advanced extreme-ultraviolet systems into China, leaving DUV scanners as the main lithography category available there. ASML said China generated 29%, or about €9.5 billion, of 2025 net sales; Reuters Breakingviews noted that this revenue was ***** ociated with DUV machines and services. A domestic machine that passes production qualification could replace specific future ASML scanner orders and reduce Chinese fabs' dependence on ASML service, even if those fabs still prefer its performance.
"Viable" remains the unresolved word. Reuters reported that the Chinese systems still trail ASML in performance and reliability and require further testing. Chipmakers require overlay accuracy, yield, throughput and uptime in sustained high-volume production. Planned output is also modest beside ASML's installed base. The development raises a strategic risk to future China sales, but it does not show that ASML's tools have been replaced.
Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) is connected through a named competitor and a manufacturing bottleneck. CXMT, one of the intended tool recipients, competes in DRAM. If locally serviceable immersion DUV equipment eventually lets CXMT qualify and add reliable commodity-memory output despite tighter foreign-tool restrictions, the additional bits could pressure industry pricing and Micron's margins. That is a supply-curve risk, not evidence that the new tools can already produce competitive high-bandwidth memory for leading AI accelerators.
Micron's current results push against the most bearish interpretation. For its fiscal third quarter ended May 28, the company reported $41.46 billion of revenue and said data center revenue exceeded $25 billion. Management also said DRAM and NAND demand continued to exceed industry supply. China's DUV progress can influence the future supply curve without invalidating those current conditions.

Kawhi Leonard's NBA future hangs in the balance, and the latest update on the Aspiration scandal investigation is not quite positive.
One of the biggest announcements of the offseason was Kawhi Leonard being traded to the Toronto Raptors, where he won his second NBA championship.
However, quite soon after the deal was announced, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Raptors announced that the deal would be on hold until the investigation into the Aspiration scandal was concluded.
The Clippers are suspected of circumventing the league's salary cap to pay Leonard. And while they have denied it, the investigation still continues. And it seems like it might not be resolved anytime soon.

As the Kawhi Leonard scandal continues to worsen, the LA Clippers are remaining firm in their stance.
The Clippers and Leonard came under scrutiny last season when investigative reporter Pablo Torre unearthed documents about Aspiration, a company he alleges the team used to pay the superstar beyond the salary cap under the table.
