Actress Julianne Moore has shared a look inside the West Village duplex penthouse she recently renovated, where items she's thoughtfully collected for decades create a perfectly lived-in vibe.
"The Big Lebowski" star, 65, told Architectural Digest that she had her eye on the residence before it ever hit the market.
"We were so lucky to find this apartment," she said in a video tour of the home. "I think this is one of the most beautiful apartments in New York."
Located in a 1920s building that was originally a hotel, the home is on "the roof of the building" and boasts several terraces—including one with an herb garden she planted and shares with her "very close friends."
After living in a townhouse with her husband, director Brett Freundlich, and their two children for nearly 25 years, this apartment is her first time living "up high."

Julianne Moore attended the premiere of The Debut during the 2026 New York Film Festival on Wednesday night.
Sonia Moskowitz
The actress wore one of her go-to labels, Bottega Veneta, but surprisingly, not her go-to colour.
Julianne and black have become almost synonymous on the red carpet, so I love that she decided to brighten things up in this cream organza embroidered top and ivory silk trousers, complemented by matching Bottega Veneta Allegra pumps.
The volume and texture of the top immediately made me think of Tracee Ellis Ross, who would absolutely embrace a look like this. But it works just as well for Julianne, with the fluid trousers providing a lovely contrast to all that feather-like texture. It's a refreshing change from the more streamlined silhouettes we've become accustomed to seeing Julianne wear.

Julianne Hough channeled Mariah Carey for Dancing with the Stars Week 4. On Oct. 6, the DWTS co-host wore Carey's dress for the show's Week 4 theme night in honor of the Grammy-winning singer, and she also shared the backstory of how she got her hands on the glittery silver frock.
Hough, 38, addressed fans in an Instagram video ahead of the live show, explaining that she was in her makeup trailer listening to Carey's music and "transforming."
Hough flipped her long blonde extensions forward as she told fans, "I'm chatting about Mariah Carey and her dress that she wore in [2008]. And I am wearing it tonight because we found it on The RealReal."
"[Stylist] Brad Goreski is amazing, and he found it, and he was like, 'It might not be in that great of a condition,'" she shared. "Got it. It's like pristine."
Hough noted that she's tried to be more "playful" and "colorful" with her DWTS looks this season and admitted, "This dress would probably be something that I would look at and be like, 'I'm not wearing that.' But because it's Mariah Carey, she wore it. It's like a literal disco ball; we were like, 'This is perfection.'"

Julianne Hough infused her sartorial agenda with a touch of metallic glitz and a whole load of hair extensions this week. The Dancing with the Stars host was clearly feeling nostalgic for the noughties as she referenced Mariah Carey's style archives during the show's theme night dedicated to the singer's discography.
The host wore a vintage Roberto Cavalli silver mini dress that was originally worn by Mariah Carey in 2008. Julianne's stylist, Brad Goreski, sourced the piece on The RealReal. "He was like, 'It might not be in that great of a condition,'" she shared. But once it arrived, she saw it was in "pristine" condition.
The metallic number features a sleeveless design with a plunging neckline and figure-hugging silhouette. The garment is embellished with intricate silver accents that glisten in the light.

"We've definitely had more fun, and it's been playful," Julianne shared of her DWTS season 35 looks. "This dress would probably be something that I would look at and be like, 'I'm not wearing that.' But because it's Mariah Carey, she wore it. It's like a literal disco ball; we were like, 'This is perfection.'"

Perms, shoulder pads and sequins, the 1980s had some memorable style signatures that were worn by Hollywood icons like Maureen O'Hara, Shelley Winters and Doris Day, who were all in their sixties during this era.
But when you compare their style to how 60-something stars like Julianne Moore and Sandra Bullock look today, it couldn't be more different! Let's take a look…
1/12
Peggy Lee continued to perform during her sixties in the 1980s, and always maintained her signature glamorous look with a platinum blonde wig, animal print outfits and sequin embellishments. She even bedazzled a cane she used for mobility issues with sequins!
Now 65, actress Julianne Moore could easily be mistaken for being much younger with her gorgeous auburn hair and youthful style such as this double denim ensemble.

There is a lot to take away from participating in team sports beyond a trophy or medal at the end of a competition.
So, at Delaware Online High School Sports Media Days Aug. 11-12 at Woodbridge High and Abessinio Stadium, we asked the top field hockey and girls volleyball players in the state to share the biggest lessons they have learned so far from their high school athletic careers.
"Figuring out how to communicate and get your point across as a leader to all different types of people," said Newark Charter's Victoria Weller. "How they learn best. How they take criticism best. Figuring out how to accomplish a team goal."
"The best lesson I've learned from playing team sports is how to work with everyone and understand how to meet people where they are," said Sussex Central's Julianne Bounds. "Bring people up when they need to be brought up and then also be that encouragement for people."
More responses to that prompt and other questions posed at media days can be found in the videos in this story.

A century after her birth, Marilyn Monroe is being seen in a new light — not as the troubled starlet of Hollywood lore, but as a woman quietly suffering from a debilitating and largely misunderstood disease.
End of the Cycle, a new documentary featuring Amy Schumer, Julianne Hough and others, makes the case that Monroe's long-misread public persona — her absences, her multiple miscarriages and her reputation for being "difficult" — were all likely symptoms of endometriosis, Page Six reported Wednesday, June 3.
"The way she's been portrayed all these years has not been accurate," co-director Sammy Jaye said at the screening at New York City's Whitby Hotel, per the report. "If anyone mentions Marilyn Monroe in a negative way, you can revert back to this and know that she was going through [the disease] at a time when she couldn't have said anything, and there wasn't social media."
According to the outlet, Jaye, who also lives with endometriosis, noted that Monday marked what would have been Monroe's 100th birthday, adding, "You look at what has and hasn't changed over the past 100 years with treatments and medicines … not much has changed."
According to the Endometriosis Collective, a global nonprofit research organization, more than 265 million women worldwide are affected by the condition, which causes tissue similar to the uterine lining to grow outside the uterus, resulting in intense, chronic pain. The disease has no cure and cannot be diagnosed without surgery. On average, women wait 7 to 14 years to receive a diagnosis, and more than 30 percent of those with endometriosis experience infertility.
