Mixed martial arts fighter Allan Nascimento has died at the age of 34, says the UFC.
According to MMA's leading promotion, the Brazilian flyweight was found unresponsive on Monday morning after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep.
"Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was ****** ounced deceased at the scene," added a UFC statement.
"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan's family, friends, team-mates and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."
Nascimento had been with the UFC since 2021 and his last fight was a split-decision loss to Mitch Raposo in June.

The Baltimore Ravens aren't simply installing a new offense this summer. They're establishing a new culture on that side of the ball. When the organization hired Declan Doyle as offensive coordinator, it wasn't just looking for fresh ideas and playbooks. It was looking for someone capable of leading an offense built around Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and one of the NFL's deepest collections of skill-position talent.
That responsibility extends well beyond calling plays on Sundays. Speaking with reporters after practice, Doyle shared the philosophy he hopes will define his first season directing Baltimore's offense. Rather than focusing on formations or scheme, he centered his vision around communication, accountability and relationships.
Declan Doyle wants players coached the way he once hoped to be taught. Doyle explained that his approach has been shaped by experiences accumulated throughout more than a decade in the NFL.
"This is my 11th year getting to coach, and obviously I've had different jobs in that whole process. When I started coaching, I always wanted to be the coach that I wanted to have, and that was one that is a clear communicator, holds you to a high standard, is knowledgeable and is able to help you. That really is what I'm trying to convey every day, that we're in the boat with them. It's not like, 'Hey, me versus you.' It's like me and you together, and we're trying to accomplish what we say we're going to accomplish."
Those comments help explain why so many Ravens players have spoken throughout training camp about accountability and attention to detail. Doyle isn't trying to create an environment where players fear making mistakes. He's trying to build one where coaches and players work together to correct them before they become problems on game day.

The 31-year-old Hill was banged up for much of last season. Coach Zac Taylor said on Monday that he doesn't expect Hill to miss all of training camp and the D-lineman is doing "as well as we had hoped."
In March, the Bengals signed a projected starting defensive tackle in Jonathan Allen, who has been one of the more consistent pass rushing defensive tackles in the NFL over the last few seasons.

If anything, the Coyotes may have the deepest and most talented running back room not only in the Missouri Valley Football Conference but across the entire FCS. While the offense develops a new quarterback, rebuilt offensive line and receiving corps, USD's experienced ball carriers are expected to shoulder much of the offensive load early in the season.

Ten people, including local Caribbean musicians, are dead after a plane crashed on the largest island in the Bahamas, local officials said.
According to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA), a Cessna 402 crashed just after 1 p.m. local time on Friday, July 10, after departing Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau.
The aircraft, with Bahamas registration C6-FLX, was en route to San Andros Airport on Andros Island, the AAIA announced in a news release.
The aircraft, operated by Flamingo Air, reportedly "encountered difficulties and crashed into bushes prior to landing," in North Andros, according to the release.
"Response efforts are currently underway, with the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Airport Authority, and emergency medical personnel responding to the accident site," the release continues. July 12 - Minnesota Governor Tim Walz mobilized state National Guard troops on Sunday to battle wildfires on the state's northern border with Canada.
The fires have covered more than 800 acres in five days and are yet to be contained, according to a Minnesota state website. They are among the latest in a swath of fires that have raged across the United States due to hot, dry conditions driven by an El Nino weather pattern across the continent.
"I've declared a peacetime emergency and mobilized the National Guard to ***** ist with wildfire response in northern Minnesota," said Walz, a Democrat. "Minnesotans extend our deepest gratitude to all of the first responders working around the clock to keep their neighbors safe."
A total of 16 fires are burning in the Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota, which normally attracts about 150,000 visitors in the summer. Park rangers have been escorting visitors out of the park over the weekend, according to the Minnesota Natural Resources Department website.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter training camp with one of the deepest outside linebacker rooms in the NFL. While that's great news for Todd Bowles' defense, it also means someone is going to see their role shrink. No veteran may have more at stake this summer than Anthony Nelson. Nelson has quietly been one of the Buccaneers' most dependable defenders over the past several seasons.
He has never been the flashiest pass rusher, but he's consistently provided quality snaps, defended the run well, and earned the trust of Bowles through his versatility and reliability.
The Buccaneers used the 15th overall pick on Rueben Bain Jr., who is expected to play a significant role from Day 1. Yaya Diaby remains the team's top returning edge rusher and enters a contract year looking to build on his breakout production. Tampa Bay also signed veteran Al-Quadin Muhammad after he posted a career-best season, giving the defense another experienced pass rusher to rotate into the lineup. Then there's David Walker, who, after missing his entire rookie season with a torn ACL, has drawn praise from Bowles throughout the offseason, who said the young edge rusher is beginning to look like his old self again. If Walker carries that momentum into training camp, he'll be pushing for defensive snaps as well.

Former Sacramento State offensive lineman Ivan Garza died Wednesday from injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The football program announced Garza's death on social media. He was 25 years old.
Garza played for the Hornets from 2019-23, redshirting as a freshman. He appeared in 38 games during three seasons, starting 36 of them at either left or right tackle.
A 6-foot-5 lineman, Garza was on two Big Sky championship teams in 2021 and 2022, and earned honorable mention all-Big Sky honors in 2023. He played at Sacramento State after graduating from Robert F. Kennedy High School in Delano, California.
"Rest in peace, Ivan Garza," a statement from Sacramento State football said.
"We give our deepest condolences to Ivan's friends and family. He will be remembered as a wonderful teammate, player, and Hornet."
