Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are attempting to become one of the highest scoring NFL teams of all time in 2026.
Head coach Ben Johnson and his team have made it no secret that they want their high-powered offense to shine. That fact was put onto full display against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 after dropping 59 points on the road.
However, Chicago's not just looking to be dominant this season. Johnson and his group are seeking a legendary campaign that can etch the NFC North franchise into the history books.
The Bears ironically already hold the NFL record for most points in a single game with 73. Meanwhile, Williams, DeAndre Swift and the talented Chicago squad could make a move on that total in 2026.

The Colorado Buffaloes entered Saturday needing a more confident passing game after a tight opening win at Georgia Tech, and Julian Lewis supplied it before Weber State even had time to settle into the afternoon at Folsom Field.
On Colorado's first offensive snap, Lewis hit DeAndre Moore Jr. for a 66-yard touchdown. A few minutes later, Lewis found Joseph Williams for a 63-yard score, and Colorado had already put Weber State in a position where it needed to chase the game.
From my seat, the biggest development was how quickly Lewis played. The Buffs came out attacking downfield, trusting Lewis to make the reads and allowing the receivers to use their speed against Weber State's coverage.
Colorado's 52-21 win moved the Buffs to 2-0 for the first time since 2023. Lewis completed 17 of 23 passes for a career-high 366 yards, four touchdown passes and no interceptions. He added a 3-yard rushing touchdown before halftime, accounting for five scores before leaving the game with 5:50 remaining in the third quarter.
The 52-point afternoon came with a few defensive concerns, particularly in the secondary, but Colorado showed far more life offensively than it did a week ago. Lewis played like a quarterback who could give this team an explosive passing game, while Micah Welch ended one of the program's longest rushing droughts.

What channel is Georgia Tech vs. Colorado on? Time, TV schedule, live stream to watch Thursday college football originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Deion Sanders begins Year 4 at Colorado in the city where he became a legend, as the Buffaloes face Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Thursday.
Sanders played for the Falcons and Braves in the early 1990s, a rare two-sport star in the pros, and remains an iconic figure in Atlanta sports history. Though his legacy could earn him a warm welcome at Bobby Dodd Stadium, that nostalgia won't do much for the Buffs as they try to bounce back from a 3-9 season.
Second-year quarterback Julian Lewis, who starred down the road at Carrollton High School, will lead a Colorado offense that loaded up with transfers in the offseason. That includes receivers Kam Perry (Miami Ohio), DeAndre Moore Jr. (Texas) and Danny Scudero (San Jose State), who are among 43 transfers on the roster.
Speaking of transfers, the Yellow Jackets will roll out a high-profile pair in QB Alberto Mendoza, late of Indiana and brother of the 2025 Heisman Trophy winner, and former Michigan and Alabama running back Justice Haynes, who grew up in suburban Atlanta. Whatever happens there, things figure to look quite a bit different for Tech after Haynes King held down the QB position the last three years.

The Los Angeles Lakers haven't given up on trying to ***** forward Jonathan ***** inga. They have been trying to acquire the free agent since early this summer, when they reportedly met with him and promised him a starting role.
After negotiations on a potential sign-and-trade deal with the Atlanta Hawks went dead a few weeks ago, they apparently restarted again, according to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports. Helin reported that the talks are now centered around Jaden Hardy, a guard Los Angeles acquired last month when it traded center Deandre Ayton to the Washington Wizards.
Now, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report says that the ***** inga saga will be resolved soon, as the Lakers compete with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the services of the 23-year-old.
"Comes down to Minnesota or Los Angeles," Fischer said. "Kuminga, I think, has seemed to prefer going to the Lakers. They have the most opportunity to negotiate there. …
"The Lakers have been selling him on this vision of having him start next to Luka [Doncic]. They're gonna have the spending power in theory to reward him next year if all goes according to plan. That's going to come to some type of conclusion here soon. I thought it could have happened last week, but I still have been told nothing to suggest that ***** inga's situation is not coming down to the Lakers or the Timberwolves."

Of the new players on the Los Angeles Lakers' roster, guard Jaden Hardy is virtually an afterthought. He was acquired last month, along with two second-round draft picks, from the Washington Wizards for center Deandre Ayton, who had become expendable after Los Angeles landed Walker Kessler.
Right now, the general expectation is that Hardy will get little, if any, playing time. But amidst all this talk about Klay Thompson possibly coming to the Lakers, what if Hardy could play the same type of role, even if he isn't as good a player as the latter-day Thompson?
That is the argument that Maxwell Odgen of Lake Show Life made in a recent article. He feels that Hardy could fill the role Luke Kennard played for L.A. last season.
"Unfortunately, Hardy is a realistic candidate to find himself at the mercy of Los Angeles' need to trim its roster to 15 players as a fringe rotation piece with an unclear role," Ogden wrote.
"If the Lakers spare Hardy from being cut, however, then they could finally fill the void that Luke Kennard wasn't able to as a volume shooter from beyond the arc.

In 2022, then-Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was suspended six games for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy. The decision helped derail a Cardinals' season that began with promise, as Arizona finished 4-13 and lost Kyler Murray to a torn ACL.
Four years later, Hopkins is launching a bold accusation, saying that his suspension was not what it seemed.
Hopkins published his message in response to an Instagram post from Tony Robinson, a financial well-being influencer, accusing former Cardinals general manager Steve Keim of being connected to a fraud scheme. It is not clear what evidence connected Keim to the scheme.
"I got set up when I played for his team and lost 13 million," Hopkins wrote. "Skeme Slime was my GM, contaminated drug test go figure how that happened."
Hopkins' comment now appears to be deleted.

DAZN, 5:00 am ET Teremoana Teremoana vs DeAndre Savage
From Gold Coast, Australia. Teremoana was a breakout from the 2024 Paris Olympics, arguably the 2nd best in the big boy division. Unfortunately, he caught a bad bracket and had to face professional Olympian Bakhodir Jalolov before the medal rounds. But, he earned himself enough attention to kickstart a pro career, and headlines the show in just his 12th professional outing. Savage is a 35 year old American with an 11-1 (11 KO) record, and much will be said about that in the commentary buildup to the main event. But, he's fought most of his career in Colombia and Mexico, and his two fights in the USA resulted in a no contest and his only pro loss. Michael Zerafa appears in support here against BoxRec's 194th ranked middleweight, Alejandro Ortiz. Teremoana is very exciting… But, a 5 am Wednesday start for a relatively unknown prospect isn't exactly a live coverage gold mine. So, this will be a follow along thread in The Feed!, and I'd expect at least one or two of the staffers here to jump in for the main event.
From Johnson City, Tennessee. It's the greatest event in the boxing-adjacent business, and arguably one of the greatest sporting shows of any kind in modern America. If you're new to the Brawl, here's the recap of Brawl #13 . The main event here features Frankie LaPenna, a Michigan man who apparently got online famous doing videos while wearing a fake ****** , taking on brawl regular Sasquatch. Catfish Cooley is out from commentary again, with Stalekracker, a former police officer who now cooks Cajun food online to promote his thriving spice business and has a vibe that can best be described as a hybrid of Guy Fieri and Dog the Bounty Hunter, subbing in as a guest. Many beloved favorites return, including Tennessee Cornbread, Lil' Smokey, Man Bear Pig vs Hook Hogan, Big Daddy T, and Lil' Terry fighting Lil' Fire after Fire knocked out Terry's brother Larry in 10 seconds in the last brawl. It's $22.99, and it's the best entertainment value you'll ever get.

There are still several weeks to go in the summer of 2026, which means that people can only speculate about how good the new-look Los Angeles Lakers will be this coming season. LeBron James is gone, as are Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura, Luke Kennard, Deandre Ayton and Jaxson Hayes, and the Lakers have replaced them with men such as Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, Collin ****** ton and Sandro Mamukelashvili, among others.
Some feel the franchise is definitely on the right track to building a championship team around Luka Doncic. Others feel its new players are incapable of getting the job done, and that the franchise gave those players outsized contracts while exhausting virtually all of its trade capital.
Channing Frye, who won the NBA championship with James on the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, said during an episode of the "Road Trippin' Show" that the Lakers won't be able to compete with most of the teams that will make the playoffs in the Western Conference (h/t Fadeaway World).
"Make a playoff run?" Frye said. "No. They can make the playoffs. But no. I don't like the way that team is built at all. And maybe something happens, but no, they're going to lose to a team like Denver, Minnesota, OKC, Houston. I even got Phoenix right there, Utah. I mean, do I even have to say San Antonio?
"I just don't see the way that this team is built that they're really going to compete versus those type of other teams," Frye continued. "So, no. I don't think so."

The Washington Huskies are among eight finalists for elite five-star Prolific Prep strong forward Malachi Jordan.
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound senior is originally from White House, Tennessee, but plays for Prolific Prep in Florida and sits as the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The coveted forward has already made an official visit to UW last October when the football team hosted then-No. 24-ranked Illinois at Husky Stadium—a 42-25 victory over the Illini—a week after coach Danny Sprinkle and the Huskies formally offered him a scholarship.
Johnson is one of the most sought-after prospects in the country with roughly two dozen offers, of which he's cut his list down to Alabama, Connecticut, Kansas, Ohio State, Tennessee, USC, Vanderbilt and UW.
"They all have a rich background in putting guys at my position in the league," Jordan told 247Sports after making his final list of schools. "I need to be smart about my development. All these schools develop really well and have great coaches. Some are close to home, some are far, but all have something in common."This fall, Johnson has official visits scheduled to USC (Sept. 4), Vanderbilt (Sept. 19), Tennessee (Sept. 25) and Alabama (Oct. 9), with a potential return trip to Seattle at some point before his decision still always a possibility if Sprinkle and new ******* istant coach DeAndre Haynes and Quincey Pondexter can make a strong impression.

Yes, receiver DeAndre Hopkins has taken a coaching job at Georgia Tech. No, he hasn't closed the door on playing in 2026.
"I haven't retired from the NFL," Hopkins posted Saturday on Twitter, via Andy Backstrom of Yahoo Sports. "But if you're a WR and you want to be great, come to Georgia Tech football."
Hopkins, 34, is keeping himself busy as he waits for another opportunity.
"DeAndre is one of the greatest receivers of all time, but his value to our program goes far beyond that," Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key said in the statement announcing Hopkins's arrival. "He has an exceptional knowledge of what we're doing on offense due to his long relationship with [offensive coordinator] George Godsey and strong familiarity with the ACC, but, most importantly, he's a leader of men that I'm very excited for our players to be around, on and off the field."
Hopkins, who spent time working with the Patriots' coaching staff early in camp, would prefer not to be around, if that means continuing to play. For now, opportunity hasn't knocked. Hopkins wants the league to know that, even as he works as a coach, he's ready to keep playing.

Former Arizona Cardinals All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is transitioning from the NFL to Georgia Tech football's coaching staff.
CBS Sports reported on Friday, July 31, that Hopkins will be the Yellow Jackets' wide receivers coach.
Hopkins, 34, last played for the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal in 2025 and was briefly part of the New England Patriots' coaching staff during the team's first week of training camp.
"It was a great experience for all of us," Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said about Hopkins on July 30. "That's what we try to do when we have some of these unique situations where a player — or former player or whatever it might be — wants to come in and help and learn, and they love football, and I think it was good for everybody."
Hopkins, who's played 13 NFL seasons with five Pro Bowl selections, will reunite with Georgia Tech offensive coordinator George Godsey. Godsey was the OC of Hopkins' first NFL team, the Houston Texans, from 2015-16, and was the Ravens tight ends coach last year when Hopkins was on the roster.

Just days after acquiring center Walker Kessler in a sign-and-trade deal with the Utah Jazz, the Los Angeles Lakers traded Deandre Ayton, their starting 5 last season, to the Washington Wizards for two second-round draft picks and guard Jaden Hardy.
While some understood the reasoning behind the trade, others felt it was ill-advised. To them, Ayton would've made an outstanding backup center behind Kessler, although Ayton has never averaged fewer than 27 minutes a game in eight NBA seasons and would've likely gotten no more than about 15 minutes a game on this new-look Lakers squad.
Jovan Buha, who covers the team on his "Buha's Block" podcast, revealed during a recent episode an interesting reason why L.A. jettisoned Ayton, and according to him, it wasn't just to recoup a bit of the draft capital it gave up to get Kessler.
"My understanding with the Ayton situation is it's not just that they traded him to replenish the cupboard. I mean, they needed to save some money, and they got some ****** ets back. So I think those were the two driving forces of that move. Remember, they needed to save some money to get under the cap to execute several of their moves. However, it wasn't just that."
"There was also an element of Ayton and Luka [Doncic] sharing an agent, and they wanted to put Ayton in a position where he could continue to play and rehab his value. He's not going to be playing a ton. He's not going to be starting, but maybe AD (Anthony Davis) gets traded."

Former Houston Texans All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has found himself a new home before the start of the 2026 NFL season.
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Georgia Tech is expected to hire Hopkins as a member of the program's offensive staff for the upcoming season. The former Clemson Tigers All-ACC wide receiver will work closely with new Yellow Jackets offensive coordinator George Godsey.
Godsey, the Texans' former offensive coordinator from 2015-2016, was also on staff with Hopkins as the tight ends coach with the Baltimore Ravens. He was inlfuential in helping Hopkins choose Baltimore as his destination last season following a run with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hopkins, who previously spent a week working alongside the New England Patriots, said earlier in the offseason he would like to play for a contender this season as he enters his 14th season. The problem? The 34-year-old pass-catcher seems not to have any suitors for the time being and could be looking toward the next option in his playing career.

According to Spotrac's contract rankings, which include deals announced but not yet finalized, the $3,876,529 James will take home next season is the 292nd-ranked payday in the NBA. That means that the global celebrity who leveraged his fame into billionaire status will earn the exact same amount as, say, DeAndre Jordan, a third-string center who appeared in 12 games all of last season.

Washington Huskies coach Danny Sprinkle has completed his coaching staff with the hiring of 25-year NBA veteran ***** istant coach Charles Klask.
Klask, a graduate of Michigan State in 1999, began his coaching career in the NBA as a video coordinator for the Detroit Pistons in 2000-01 under then-coach Rick Carlisle. He spent the next decade as a scout with the Orlando Magic, working for Doc Rivers and Stan Van Gundy among other notable head coaches for the organization before he advanced into a coaching role.
Most recently, Klask spent eight seasons with the Denver Nuggets as an ***** istant coach, helping develop players like three-time MVP big man Nikola Jokić, while being on staff for the franchise's first championship in 2023.
The hiring of Klask is the second confirmed coaching change this offseason for Sprinkle. It follows the addition of ex-Marquette ***** istant coach DeAndre Haynes, giving Sprinkle a wealth of experience joining his bench for the 2026-27 men's basketball season as the third-year coach aims to return UW to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019 under former coach Mike Hopkins.
Having coached numerous All-Star-caliber players in the NBA over his two-plus decades spent in the league—Blake Griffin, Chauncey Billups, and Andre Drummond, among several others—the addition of the Big Ten alum should blend well with a veteran-laden roster that features seven juniors and seniors.

After the Los Angeles Lakers agreed to trade two first-round draft picks and two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz in a sign-and-trade for center Walker Kessler, they jettisoned Deandre Ayton, their starting center last season, to the Washington Wizards. That meant they needed a true backup center.
On Monday, they officially signed veteran Kevon Looney to a one-year contract. He will presumably serve as the main backup behind Kessler, with big man Sandro Mamukelashvili playing some minutes at the position with the Lakers go small.
In an interview with Mark Medina of Fadeaway World, Looney said he couldn't resist the opportunity to come to L.A.
“I knew I was going to be a free agent,” Looney said. “I looked at the landscape of free agency and where there was an opportunity where I could play. A few teams called looking for a backup big. LA is a place that I come to all the time. I’m here a lot of the times. I got a lot of friends and family. So to have the opportunity to join the Lakers, I couldn’t turn that down.”
The 30-year-old played his college basketball at the University of California, Los Angeles and recently got married in nearby Santa Barbara. After he was the No. 30 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, he spent his first 10 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, where he won three championships.

Sources with knowledge of New Orleans’ thinking say that the Pelicans re-signed DeAndre Jordan to a two-year deal rather than a mere one-year minimum contract because they were convinced that Jordan had one-year interest elsewhere that he was prepared to accept and did not want to lose the 37-year-old's locker room influence.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been very active this summer as they continue reshaping the roster following LeBron James' announcement that he would not be returning. The first major move came when Los Angeles acquired Walker Kessler in a trade with the Utah Jazz.
The Lakers followed that up with several key moves, including signing Colin ****** ton, Quentin Grimes, and bringing back Austin Reaves. However, the organization remains active on the trade market and could look to move Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt.
"The Lakers are actively shopping Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt in trade talks. After gaining two second-round picks in the Deandre Ayton trade, Los Angeles could consolidate those ****** ets in a deal immediately for a starting-caliber wing," NBA reporter Evan Sidery wrote.
Knecht could be looking for a fresh start after beginning his rookie season with the Lakers on a strong note. The former first-round pick was briefly involved in a trade to the Charlotte Hornets, but the deal was ultimately rescinded.

The New Orleans Pelicans reportedly re-signed veteran big man DeAndre Jordan to a two-year, guaranteed $7.9 million deal. Jordan returns for two more years after spending this past season with the team.
Right after the deal was announced, an NBA ******* yst questioned the decision, which cost the Pelicans $3 million more.
The Pelicans' decision to give the former All-Star center a two-year guaranteed deal was met with sharp criticism from Austin Robert, who tweeted:
"I was informed by someone in the league that the NBA prorate of vet min. Deals only applies to 1-year deals. So the Pelicans will be paying the entire $7.9M. 'His comment was, 'I don't think they understood the rule,' referring to Joe Dumars.'"
Robert continued: "All they had to do was sign DJ to two separate 1-year deals. This is an entirely unforced error. I'm pretty baffled how this happened."

LAS VEGAS — Fans began lining up outside of Thomas and Mack arena for first-come, first-serve seating starting at around 7 in the morning, braving temperatures of up to 110 degrees before the doors opened at 11:30 am.
And they weren't there for the Hunter ****** inson vs. Rocco Zikarsky matchup that started off the day's games.
The buzz all day was around No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa facing off against No. 2 pick Darryn Peterson at 6pm local time. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Keyonte George were on the sidelines, jumping onto the floor during big plays. Deandre Ayton and Anthony Davis were among the Wizards who came to cheer on Dybantsa. Paul Pierce roamed along the baseline, schmoozing his way into baseline seats. Jalen Williams took them over as Pierce wandered off after the first quarter. Kings coach Doug Christie couldn't find a seat, so he watched the whole game standing to the side of press row.

Roughly two weeks after the Washington Wizards made AJ Dybantsa the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-9 forward made his Las Vegas Summer League debut on Thursday.
Eager to show that he can live up to the hype and lofty expectations, the former BYU star brought the crowd to its feet with a rim-rattling poster dunk in the first quarter.
The highlight play went viral, sparking strong reactions from the NBA world.
Dybantsa’s first game in a Wizards jersey came against the Utah Jazz, featuring this year’s No. 2 pick, Darryn Peterson. With anticipation building for the duel, Washington’s rookie dazzled in front of a packed Thomas & Mack Center.
Late in the first quarter, Dybantsa drove past Cody Williams but ended up facing a swarm of defenders. Unbothered, he forcefully went up over Justin Harmon for the highlight play of the night. The slam had his Wizards teammates Trae Young and Deandre Ayton on their feet, cheering wildly for him.

Last week, the Los Angeles Lakers seemingly struck gold when they agreed to send two future first-round draft picks and two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz for 24-year-old, 7-foot-2 Walker Kessler, one of the best defensive centers in the NBA. They had been linked to Kessler for a couple of years, and he is now officially a member of their roster, which fulfills the biggest item on their offseason wish list.
But with backup center Jaxson Hayes' departure and the trade that sent Deandre Ayton, their starting center this past season, to the Washington Wizards, the Lakers needed a serviceable backup center. To that end, they got Kevon Looney to agree to a veteran minimum deal with them.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Looney chose the Lakers because the 30-year-old feels some of the offensive sets they plan to run resemble the ones the Golden State Warriors ran to spring Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry loose.
"They needed a backup center, right?" McMenamin said. "He had some opportunities around the league. I spoke to someone close to him today who said that he saw it as a clear opportunity. He saw a parallel between some of the half-court sets that they're going to run, the way he can free up Luka [Doncic] and AR (Austin Reaves) the same way he freed up Klay and Steph with screens -- multi-time champion.
"And then let's talk off the court. He's a UCLA guy. He spends the offseasons in L.A. He's getting married this weekend to his bride, who is also a hooper at Cal State. So it's a happy time for the Looney family, and I've spent some time around Kevon — he's a good guy to have among this group as a veteran leader as well."

The Los Angeles Lakers entered this offseason with multiple roster holes, and additional holes were created when LeBron James, Luke Kennard, Marcus Smart and Jaxson Hayes left last week. On Tuesday, they filled another roster need.
They had agreed to trade for Walker Kessler, the defensive-minded center they had been seeking for the last couple of years, but they lacked a true backup center behind him. Now, Kevon Looney is reportedly joining the Lakers as a free agent to fill that backup 5 role, per Anthony Slater of ESPN.
"While the Los Angeles Lakers continue to actively pursue unrestricted free agent wing Jonathan ****** inga, league sources told ESPN on Tuesday, they've agreed to a one-year deal with veteran center Kevon Looney, who was ****** inga's teammate while with the Golden State Warriors.
"The deal is worth $3.9 million, Life Sports Agency CEO Todd Ramasar told ESPN's Shams Charania. Looney projects to slot in at backup center after L.A. traded big man Deandre Ayton to the Washington Wizards last week. Looney spent 10 seasons with the Warriors, winning three championships. He played last season with the New Orleans Pelicans."
Looney, who is 6-foot-9 and roughly 220 pounds, has historically been a good rebounder, and he has a career average of 5.7 rebounds in 17.1 minutes a game. This past season, he averaged 2.8 points and 5.6 rebounds in 14.7 minutes a game with the Pelicans, although he only appeared in 21 games.

Lakers reportedly shopping $66M promising duo after Deandre Ayton and Walker Kessler trades originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been active throughout the free agency cycle, making moves both on the trade market and in free agency. After being informed that LeBron James was not interested in returning, the Lakers immediately went to work reshaping their roster.
Their first major move was a trade they had reportedly pursued for years. Los Angeles sent multiple draft picks to the Utah Jazz in exchange for center Walker Kessler.
“The Los Angeles Lakers started the process of remaking their roster in the wake of LeBron James' decision to leave with a blockbuster trade and a trio of free agency signings Wednesday. Sources told ESPN's Shams Charania that the Lakers are acquiring Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz for unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033 and first-round swaps in 2028 and 2030,” ESPN wrote.
Next, the Lakers moved on from center Deandre Ayton after his production dipped last season.

Lakers prepared to steal beloved $60 million NBA champion center from Knicks, per report originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Deandre Ayton has opted in to his $8.1 million player option for the 2026-27 campaign.
What does that mean for the Los Angeles Lakers going forward? It indicates that unless the franchise elects to trade the up-and-down 7-foot center this summer, they’ll be stuck with him for at least one more season.
That shouldn’t stop Los Angeles from attempting to bolster its frontcourt, and according to Stein Line’s Jake Fischer and Marc Stein, the Lakers are prepared to do so by stealing a beloved NBA champion center from the New York Knicks.
“The Knicks' Mitchell Robinson obviously bills as the top rim-running center on the board among unrestricted free agents,” Stein and Fischer wrote last Sunday. “We've already reported here that both the (Brooklyn) Nets and the Lakers are expected to try to pry Robinson away from the Knicks.”

Lakers predicted to cut ties with Dalton Knecht, acquire $90 million Cavs All-Star in three-team trade originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Los Angeles Lakers are ‘actively exploring trade scenarios’ to give Luka Doncic more ammunition to work with in 2026-27.
It’s safe to ******* ume those trade scenarios will include struggling second-year guard Dalton Knecht, as all signs point to the Tennessee product departing Los Angeles this summer (earlier this offseason, NBA reporter Evan Sidery stated that the Lakers were attempting to find a trade suitor for Knecht, and the franchise recently drafted his potential replacement, Cameron Carr).
Judging by Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus’ recent three-team trade proposal involving Knecht and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 28-year-old All-Star center, he certainly agrees.
“The Lakers are scouring the free-agent and trade markets for a starting center,” Hughes wrote Saturday. (Deandre) Ayton filled the role relatively well, but he's not in the team's long-term plans. (Jarrett) Allen would be their upgrade, while accepting that now is the time to move on from James and build properly around (Luka) Doncic.”
