Palladyne AI reported headline growth that looks dramatic: second-quarter revenue rose 470% year over year and 63% sequentially to $5.783 million. Palladyne AI Corp. (NASDAQ:PDYN) ended June with $24.6 million of backlog, up 43% during the quarter after roughly $13 million of new contract awards, net of revenue recognized. Management expects most of that backlog to become revenue over the next 12 to 18 months and reiterated 2026 revenue guidance of $24 million to $27 million, or 357% to 415% growth.

The comparison needs an important qualification. Palladyne said the increase came from acquisitions as well as organic growth. Its 10-Q says second-quarter product revenue was derived mainly from businesses acquired in November 2025, while engineering-services revenue came from one acquired business. Revenue consisted of hardware products, development contracts, and engineering services; the filing explicitly says Palladyne had generated no software-product revenue to date. The quarter therefore does not yet demonstrate scaled sales of its proprietary autonomy software.
The bull case is that backlog and defense awards provide a bridge to that commercialization. Programs involving SwarmOS, Gremlin-X, BRAIN flight computers, and Air Force development work may deepen customer relationships. But award values do not become revenue immediately, and fixed-price development work can produce weak margins if actual costs exceed estimates. Palladyne separately put total estimated contract value at $30.9 million, but that broader figure includes unexercised options and should not be confused with firm backlog.
The loss profile remains severe. Operating loss widened to $13.413 million from $8.094 million a year earlier, and net loss reached $12.326 million. Palladyne held $33.774 million of cash and equivalents plus $9.972 million of marketable securities, totaling $43.746 million. Its reiterated full-year operating-cash-burn outlook was $32 million to $36 million; the company defines that measure as operating cash used plus capital expenditures.

Everspin Technologies (NASDAQ:MRAM) and Teledyne HiRel Semiconductors, a unit of Teledyne Technologies (NYSE:TDY), announced a partnership to make Everspin's PERSYST spin-transfer torque MRAM available through Teledyne HiRel's memory product portfolio for aerospace and defense customers.
The collaboration will initially focus on Everspin's 256Mb PERSYST STT-MRAM and will also cover the company's 64Mb and 128Mb PERSYST products.

Morgan Stanley is forecasting that Cisco (CSCO) could be entering a new period of lasting growth. According to **** yst Meta Marshall, the company appears to be entering a "more durable growth phase," as quoted by Seeking Alpha. The firm also has an "Overweight" rating on the tech giant with a price target of $135. Fueling that call are several key catalysts, including upgrades with networking equipment, demand for artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

On August 20, ATRenew (NYSE:RERE) reported second-quarter results that beat the high end of its own guidance, with revenue climbing 32.4% year over year to RMB 6.6 billion. Net income jumped 78.6% to RMB 129.1 million, and the company kept buying back shares even as it pushed into new markets overseas. For a business built on other people's used phones, that pairing of faster growth and faster profit is the number worth sitting with.
The engine behind that growth is ATRenew's 1P model, where the company buys, refurbishes, and resells devices itself rather than just running a marketplace. Net product revenue rose 35.9% to RMB 6.2 billion, and the company moved 11.6 million consumer products during the quarter, up from 10.3 million a year earlier. Owning more of that chain is also making each device more profitable. Gross margin on the 1P business rose to 15.7% from 13.2% a year ago, and 1P-to-C retail revenue, the curated resale of phones and computers, grew 92.4% and now makes up 48.8% of product revenue, up from 34.4% last year. Revenue from refurbished products alone grew 87.8%.
All of that flowed to the bottom line: non-GAAP operating income rose 70.1% to RMB 206.3 million, with margin expanding 69 basis points to 3.1%. Newer categories are following the same pattern. Luxury recycling revenue grew 77.3% after the company upgraded select stores into specialized formats, and its B2B marketplace, PJT, grew its registered merchant base to 2.2 million while lifting inspection penetration to 84.4%, up 11.5 percentage points from a year ago. Overseas, the company crossed HKD 120 million in monthly export sales in June and is now building out its FoneSquare and ReRe brands toward hubs in Hong Kong, Dubai, and Miami.
Not every part of the business is pulling in the same direction. Net service revenue fell 4.2% to RMB 414.6 million, a decline the company tied to discretionary discounts handed to merchants during its extended June 18 promotional push. Gold recycling revenue fell even harder, down 35%, as gold prices swung lower and the company chose to pass higher payouts to users rather than protect its own take. Costs are climbing too. Fulfillment expenses rose 31.1% to RMB 540 million as the company staffed up its to-door recycling teams during peak demand.
Physical footprint is also shrinking at the edges, with the company trimming its AHS store count to 2,117 locations by closing underperforming sites. And management flagged a timing risk heading into the back half of the year, noting that expectations around Apple's next iPhone lineup could push device volume into the fourth quarter and early next year rather than this one. Guidance itself points to a slower pace ahead. ATRenew expects third-quarter revenue of RMB 6.3 billion to RMB 6.4 billion, growth of 23.1% to 25.1%, a clear step down from the 32.4% posted this quarter.

Apple said it is facing severe supply constraints that will affect sales of iPhones and Macs in the months ahead, underscoring the challenges looming over the company as Tim Cook prepares to hand over the CEO reins.
In his final earnings call as CEO, Cook said he has never been more optimistic about the opportunities ahead for Apple. "I am beyond excited," said Cook, who has led the company for 15 years and will pass the CEO baton to John Ternus in September. But Cook's confidence in the future stood in contrast to the picture that he and other executives painted of the current business conditions.
"We're seeing some very significant constraints currently, with limited flexibility in the supply chain," Cook said. "There's a quarter where we're going to be scrambling on the supply side," he acknowledged at another point.
The supply crunch is making it more difficult for Apple to obtain the advanced processors it needs for its phones and computers. And that translates into lower revenue.
Sales of the iPhone, which accounts for roughly half of Apple's business, will grow at a "mid-teens" percentage rate in the current quarter, Apple said, forecasting a significant deceleration from the 22% growth the iPhone business posted in the recently ended quarter. Total revenue in the current quarter will grow between 9% and 10% year-over-year, which was below the 12% rate expected by ***** ysts.

In his final earnings call as CEO, Cook said he has never been more optimistic about the opportunities ahead for Apple. "I am beyond excited," said Cook, who has led the company for 15 years and will pass the CEO baton to John Ternus in September. But Cook's confidence in the future stood in contrast to the picture that he and other executives painted of the current business conditions.
"We're seeing some very significant constraints currently, with limited flexibility in the supply chain," Cook said. "There's a quarter where we're going to be scrambling on the supply side," he acknowledged at another point.
The supply crunch is making it more difficult for Apple to obtain the advanced processors it needs for its phones and computers. And that translates into lower revenue.
Sales of the iPhone, which accounts for roughly half of Apple's business, will grow at a "mid-teens" percentage rate in the current quarter, Apple said, forecasting a significant deceleration from the 22% growth the iPhone business posted in the recently ended quarter. Total revenue in the current quarter will grow between 9% and 10% year-over-year, which was below the 12% rate expected by ***** ysts.

That's because it's usually much easier for a stock's market cap to grow from $500 million to $5 billion than it is to go from $50 billion to $500 billion. It's just difficult to grow large numbers for all but the most exceptional businesses. D-Wave Quantum's current market cap of $6.2 billion doesn't seem huge at first glance. That's until you look at the actual business, which is still in its infancy.
