Derby boss John Eustace has explained why Eiran Cashin missed the Rams' defeat to West Ham following his season-long loan move from Brighton.
Cashin was absent from the squad because of an ankle problem which had also kept him out of action during his final weeks at Brighton.
"Eiran's struggling a little bit with his ankle," Eustace said. "I think he's missed the last couple of weeks at Brighton, so hopefully he'll be joining in at some point this week."
Bobby Clark was only fit enough to start on the bench after suffering a hamstring scare, while Filip Bilbija was ruled out with a back injury.
"Bobby had a slight scare after the game on Tuesday," Eustace added. "That's why he was on the bench and he's been really struggling with his hamstrings. We were lucky to get him on for 20 minutes.

The Indians now have two overtime wins as well.
Venice downed longtime foe Lakeland 32-25 on Friday, Sept. 4, needing two extra periods of overtime to notch the win. The Indians won their other road game at Rabun Gap (Ga.) in overtime on Aug. 21.
The Indians jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and looked primed to run away from the Dreadnaughts. Venice had no issues moving the ball in their first two possessions, scoring on a 4-yard carry from Dorien Jones, then cashing in on a Lakeland interception with an 8-yard touchdown run from Mike Blakely.
A lightning delay came right as the horn marked the end of the first quarter, and it could not have been timed better for Lakeland. With the Indians rolling and up two scores, the Dreadnaughts got a mini halftime to talk things over after the opening frame.

As we inch closer and closer to fall (you already took a sip of a Pumpkin Spice something, I know it), we can feel the optimism spreading within the basketball world.
The offseason is full of transactions, moves to improve, and swings to make things … fit. That's the key word. Context, opportunity and how a new acquisition works within what a team does will end up defining how well a transaction ends up being.
It's easy to view moves in a vacuum. Teams need to acquire talent to fit a need, talent needs an opportunity to work, etc. But my curiosity always forces me to dig a little deeper: Maybe adding this player did not address every weakness a team has, but how did it make them stronger? What can teams do with these additions that they could not do last year?
So with that in mind, I present to you my six pack of underrated fits with NBA training camps opening later this month.
This is less about Klay Thompson returning to All-Star form, less about Klay being Ray Allen to Miami 2.0, and more about the fit between the human, the player and the franchise. It's clear Thompson wants to compete at a high level, and the Heat are always going to work to compete at a high level, especially after cashing in their chips to get Giannis Antetokounmpo. Erik Spoelstra has a knack for understanding his roster, knowing where his team needs to go and getting the most out of his roster. It feels like a natural meeting of the minds.

Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola has dragged on long enough to invite doubt, noise and the usual transfer-window nonsense. Strip that away and the position looks fairly clear. Liverpool want the player, the player wants Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain may finally be approaching the point where keeping him becomes less important than cashing in at the right price.
That is the crux of the latest update, with credit to Ben Jacobs on GiveMeSport's Market Madness podcast. The key line remains unchanged: "Liverpool feel they've got that Barcola buy-in, so the only way someone else is going to beat Liverpool in Liverpool's eyes, at least, and I stress that's Liverpool's sources' perspective, is if they get completely outbid and then back away."
That matters because it frames this as a deal Liverpool believe they can still control. **** nal may admire Barcola, and plenty of elite clubs will keep an eye on any forward of this level, but admiration is cheap. Convincing the player is harder, and by all accounts Liverpool think they have done that part already.
The real development is not on Merseyside, it is in Paris. PSG are reshaping their attacking options, and once clubs start stockpiling players in the same area of the pitch, priorities change. As Jacobs explained, "And now, what is the domino or three dominoes really is Maghnes Akliouche coming in from Monaco, Ferran Torres coming in from Barcelona, plus the fact that Mika Godts is expected to join from Ajax. That's three attack-minded players, and suddenly PSG have more urgency to sell Barcola. So Liverpool have been playing a waiting game in order to see whether that 170 million euro price drops. Now PSG are about to add two more editions on top of Akliouche."
That is where this starts to look less like wishful thinking and more like sensible timing. Liverpool were never likely to sprint into a €170 million, £145m, agreement unless they had no alternative. They have already spent heavily in recent windows, and no serious club keeps throwing £100m-plus fees around without calculating the consequences. Waiting for market pressure to build on PSG was logical.

Aug 11 (Reuters) - Intel raised $20 billion from an upsized share offering on Tuesday, as it looks to fund the costly build-out of its chip contract manufacturing business by cashing in on a stock surge fueled by its turnaround efforts.
Once a dominant force in the global chip industry, Intel is investing heavily in new facilities and advanced packaging capabilities as it seeks to challenge industry leaders such as TSMC in contract chip manufacturing.
Intel priced the offering at $95 per share, which was a discount of 2.6% from the previous close. The chipmaker said on Monday it aimed to raise $15 billion through the share sale.
Bloomberg first reported the size of the upsized offering.

Despite several delays in negotiations with Premier League giants, Inter have not pulled themselves out of the race to acquire Liverpool central midfielder Curtis Jones, as coach Christian Chivu deems the English international as his primary target to bolster the central area of the pitch.

A lot has changed since college athletes began earning compensation in 2021.
A small percentage have become rich due to their talent and marketability. The vast majority, however, have earned much more modest additional income, if any at all.
But one thing hasn't changed: Opponents of college students cashing in on marketing their name, image and likeness, or NIL, still argue that athlete compensation has ended the supposed purity of college sports.
The NCAA has a long history of opposing college athletes profiting from their intellectual property. And even President Donald Trump has voiced his concerns, suggesting current NIL policies "could cause serious damage to college athletics" and issuing not one but two executive orders so far in his second term to "save" college sports.
However, as a professor of sport management who has been studying name, image and likeness policies since they were implemented in 2021, I believe there are a lot of misconceptions about how they work. Based on my studies – one published in 2023 and the other one published in 2025 – I'd like to set the record straight about a few things.

For all the drama surrounding the Tarik Skubal sweepstakes, and the will they or won't they position the Tigers were in as the trade deadline approached, the Detroit Tigers ultimately kept to just two notable trades. They got good value for both Skubal and Casey Mize, but at the same time didn't really address their biggest weakness in their high leverage relief corps. As they still seem bent on trying to secure a wild card slot, it's a bit of a peculiar mixed bag in terms of their intentions, but ultimately their trades have to be viewed as punting on the 2026 season without simply giving everything away to slash payroll. They had two valuable ****** ets heading to free agency, and they did a solid job of cashing them in for good prospects with which to restock their farm system.
The Tigers currently have the 17th best odds of making the postseason and are +590 on FanDuel's sportsbook to do so at the moment. FanGraphs is more optimistic, giving them a 22.6 percent chance of reaching the playoffs. It helps that they're not entirely out of the divisional race, as well as having the shot at a wild card berth and currently just 2.5 games back of the final spot.
Those odds still aren't great, and with Skubal and Mize out of the rotation, and no attempt to address the bullpen, those odds will also have to be adjusted to reflect the significantly weaker starting rotation they'll be working with down the stretch. Ultimately, while the Tigers will say they're still trying to make the postseason and will do what they can with what they have to do so, the totality of their moves adds up to capitulation without going whole hog and trying to dump the salaries of players like Gleyber Torres, Jack Flaherty, or Kenley Jansen.
Of course, teams have to want those players, and with Flaherty injured, and Jansen struggling, there wasn't going to be much, if any, interest. Still, the decision not to deal Torres is the really interesting one. He wouldn't return a whole lot in trade, but he's also potentially blocking a currently hot-hitting prospect in Max Anderson. Perhaps Anderson will get the call anyway and they'll simply piece together at-bats for the Anderson/Torres duo, but the best reason to keep Torres is to have that extra, professional right-handed bat in the lineup against the best teams in the postseason.
Overall, we'll take the Tigers for what they did do, rather than trying to piece together why other moves weren't pursued. The slightly mixed signals here make it tricky to figure out what they're thinking in regard to their hopes to at least get into the postseason. The trades suggest a team throwing in the towel, and as sellers, they did pretty well overall. On the other hand, their proximity to a wild card berth, says they still have an outside shot. So declining to go after relief help was strange when that's been the team's main problem all season long. Those odds still aren't great, and with Skubal and Mize out of the rotation, and no attempt to address the bullpen, those odds will also have to be adjusted to reflect the significantly weaker starting rotation they'll be working with down the stretch. Ultimately, while the Tigers will say they're still trying to make the postseason and will do what they can with what they have to do so, the totality of their moves adds up to capitulation without going whole hog and trying to dump the salaries of players like Gleyber Torres, Jack Flaherty, or Kenley Jansen.
Of course, teams have to want those players, and with Flaherty injured, and Jansen struggling, there wasn't going to be much, if any, interest. Still, the decision not to deal Torres is the really interesting one. He wouldn't return a whole lot in trade, but he's also potentially blocking a currently hot-hitting prospect in Max Anderson. Perhaps Anderson will get the call anyway and they'll simply piece together at-bats for the Anderson/Torres duo, but the best reason to keep Torres is to have that extra, professional right-handed bat in the lineup against the best teams in the postseason.
Overall, we'll take the Tigers for what they did do, rather than trying to piece together why other moves weren't pursued. The slightly mixed signals here make it tricky to figure out what they're thinking in regard to their hopes to at least get into the postseason. The trades suggest a team throwing in the towel, and as sellers, they did pretty well overall. On the other hand, their proximity to a wild card berth, says they still have an outside shot. So declining to go after relief help was strange when that's been the team's main problem all season long. SummerSlam has something to offer for every WWE fan. From the two dream matches, one of which will be the main event each night, to the matches with crazy stipulations to some longtime feuds coming to a potential end.
As a way to preview the second biggest PLE of the year, I have put together a list of the five matches I am most excited for.
5. Gunther vs. Nick Aldis
WWE has been teasing SmackDown GM Nick Aldis' in-ring return for some time now after his mini-feuds with Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, and are now finally cashing in, giving Aldis a tall task against the 'Ring General' Gunther. I am excited for this match for one main reason. Nick Aldis has been a professional wrestler for over 20 years. He started in the UK, before moving over to TNA and NWA where he held world championships in both. He has flourished in his GM role, but seeing him back in the ring, and for many fans seeing him in the ring for the first time, will do much more for him than continuing as GM would. For one, the WWE is putting him back in the ring at SummerSlam, which tells me they trust him. Also, having him feud with Gunther, in a rivalry that has been very entertaining, especially seeing Aldis absolutely lose it and be 'forced' to get back in the ring, gives him breathing room. Even if he loses the match, which he should and probably will because Gunther needs this win, he can certainly 'win' the WWE Universe over by putting up a stellar and exciting performance. I can't wait to see how Aldis does.

Chris Hacopian and Caden Sorrell both signed major rookie deals after being selected in the 2026 MLB Draft. Now another Aggie star has officially joined the list.

"Public spending will not be enough, and we do need to mobilise private capital at scale," Cathal Deasy, global co-head of investment banking at British bank Barclays, told delegates, adding national governments needed to act faster and provide more clarity.
Bankers and investors are attending the annual aerospace event in record numbers this year, according to the event organisers, in part drawn by the prospect of cashing in on a global boom in defence investing amid rising geopolitical tensions.
However, investor sentiment has cooled recently, reflected in weaker defence firm stock prices, while Franco-German defence group KNDS this month put on hold its stock market listing until conditions improve.

Retail investors made SK Hynix (SKHY) one of their biggest buys on Friday, according to the latest data from VandaTrack. By Monday, the stock had fallen as much as 9% as South Korea's KOSPI (^KS11) plunged nearly 9%.
That kind of whiplash is becoming familiar. Retail traders are cashing out of Apple (AAPL), Tesla (TSLA), Nvidia (NVDA), and chip stocks while chasing newer stories. The broader market is not following them lower.
