Cher is still at her wit's end over wayward son Elijah Blue Allman and a source says she's barely communicating with anyone right now, with loved ones led by boyfriend Alex "AE" Edwards all struggling to get through, let alone lift her shattered spirits.
"This battle with Elijah is sucking the life out of her," reveals the source. "She's fighting so hard to save him and there's just no end in sight, especially now that her daughter-in-law is back in the picture and fighting to get herself named as his guardian."
As Globe previously reported, the "Believe" singer, 80, is attempting to establish a conservatorship over her son's estate following his psychiatric hospitalization. However, Allman's wife, Marieangela King not only opposed the petition but also argued that if the court should decide a conservator is necessary that she be the one appointed.
"Cher doesn't trust Marieangela as far as she can throw her. She says all she does is enable Elijah and use him for his money," snipes the source. "She's ***** -bent on stopping her, but it's taking a huge toll, especially because there's no end in sight."

A day after a disappointing outcome at the Solheim Cup, U.S. captain Angela Stanford has a new gig.
Stanford has joined the TCU women's golf team as an ***** istant coach.
TCU's website said: "The greatest player in TCU women's golf history is back in purple and white."
Stanford, who is from nearby Saginaw, Texas, about 15 miles away from Ft. Worth, was a four-time All-American for the Horned Frogs from 1996-2000, the only four-time All-American in program history. Stanford holds the school record for wins with 10.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Angela Stanford back home to TCU as our third coach," said TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin. "As one of the most decorated and respected figures in golf history, her transition from a legendary professional career to our coaching staff is a monumental moment for our program. Angela's elite competitive experience as a major champion, combined with her leadership as a U.S. Solheim Cup captain, will provide our student-athletes with unparalleled mentorship. She embodies what it means to be a Horned Frog, and her passion for TCU will undoubtedly elevate our team to new heights."

CROMVOIRT, Netherlands – For the first time in 20 editions, the Solheim Cup is tied after one day.
The U.S. and Europe split each of the first two sessions and are deadlocked at 4-4 entering the weekend at Bernardus Golf.
"We took a big swing from 'em today," U.S. captain Angela Stanford said. "We took some of their best body blows today. So, I just told 'em I was proud of 'em and they hung in there, and I'm excited about tomorrow because I feel like we're a heavyweight fighter. We fight with our mentality, and we're just going to see how long we can last, and I feel pretty good about how long we can go."
Here are some takeaways from a cool, rainy Friday in the Netherlands:

It's hard to imagine a better birthday call than the one Auston Kim of St. Augustine got from U.S. Solheim Cup captain Angela Stanford on Aug. 16.
Kim was whiling away a Sunday afternoon during a break from her LPGA schedule playing frisbee in the backyard of her St. Johns Golf and Country Club home with her sister, August. Kim then got the call from Stanford, who was at the site of the LPGA event in Portland, Ore., to let her know that she had qualified on points for the U.S. team that will play Europe Sept. 11-13 at the Bernardus Golf Club in Cromvoirt, Netherlands.
"It was a good birthday present," Kim said on Sept. 1 after a practice session at her home course. "Completely unexpected. If I had played a tournament that week, I would have been on-site, and it would have been a lot different. I wasn't in a golf mode."
More: These are the 12 members of the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup team headlined by Nelly Korda
She will be in the Netherlands, where Kim will join U.S. teammates such as Nelly Korda, Jennifer Kupcho, Rose Zhang and Allisen Corpuz against Europe, led by Charley Hull, Lottie Woad, Celine Boutier and Leona Maguire.

Heather Watson and Harriet Dart will go head-to-head for a place in the US Open main draw as six British players made it through to the third and final qualifying round in New York.
Watson kept alive her hopes of a first US Open singles main-draw appearance in five years by overcoming Spain's Angela Fita Boluda in a rollercoaster encounter lasting nearly three hours.
The 34-year-old was twice a break up in the third set and served for the match - only to be taken to a deciding 10-point tie-break.
However, she held her nerve to seal a 6-4 5-7 7-6 (10-5) win.
That set up a meeting with Dart, who earlier produced a 5-7 6-0 6-3 win against American 16-year-old Kristina Penickova.

Angela Stanford has always relished playing away, whether in a basketball gym or on foreign soil. Only three U.S. teams have won overseas, and Stanford played on two of them (2015 and 2007). To get ready for this year's competition in the Netherlands, Stanford called the three captains who have won in Europe: Judy Rankin, Betsy King and Juli Inkster.
Now it's her turn to try and join that short, illustrious list. Stanford's keys to success: good putters and chemistry.
For the 20th playing of the Solheim Cup, Stanford takes a team led by world No. 1 Nelly Korda, a 19-time winner on tour and one of only two Americans on this team to win in 2026. Lauren Coughlin is the second.
On Monday, Stanford announced her three captain's picks, which include Lindy Duncan, the oldest Solheim Cup rookie in 25 years. The last player to nab an automatic qualifying spot was Alison Lee, who came back from maternity leave earlier this season and played the 2024 Solheim Cup while pregnant.
Six players on the team have played in the past two Cups. Pick Megan Khang joins good friend Korda in boasting the most Solheim appearances with four.

The American team for the Solheim Cup is nearly set except for the three captain's picks for Angela Stanford for the Sept. 11-13 matches in The Netherlands. The CPKC Women's Open this week in Canada is the final qualifying event.
Lauren Coughlin clinched the sixth of seven automatic spots last week at The Standard Portland Classic. The previous spots went to Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Yealimi Noh and Auston Kim. That leaves one spot left between Allisen Corpuz and Andrea Lee.
However, the next two selections come from the women's world ranking. So even if Lee doesn't win in Canada this week, she locks up a spot in the world ranking at No. 37. The final spot from the ranking would come down to Lee (No. 59), Lindy Duncan (No. 61), Jenny Bae (No. 65) and Rose Zhang (No. 66).
Stanford will announce her two captain's picks after the tournament Sunday.
Europe filled out its 12-player roster on Aug. 3.

When U.S. captain Angela Stanford first placed the call to Auston Kim, it went to voicemail. A surprised Stanford gave it another try and this time, Team USA's newest rookie got word that she'd clinched her spot for The Netherlands.
"I'm shaking," Kim told Stanford while out playing frisbee in the backyard with big sister August.
Kim, 26, will be the 70th American player to ever compete in the biennial event Sept. 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands.
She will be joined by 25-year-old Yealimi Noh, who also clinched her spot on the U.S. points list. Noh, who recently contended at the AIG Women's British Open, debuted in the event in 2021 as a captain's pick. She had a 2-1-0 record at Inverness.
That makes five U.S. players who have now secured their spots off the points list:

During a recent appearance on Way Up with Angela Yee, the R&B singer reflected on reconnecting with his father after the death of his mother, explaining that her funeral changed the way he viewed the relationship they never truly had.
Asked what advice he would give people who grew up without a father and struggle with forgiveness, Mario admitted the process wasn't easy.
"It was hard for me because you don't know what you're missing if you never had it," he said.

The 2023 Golden Globe Awards was an incredible night for Michelle Yeoh. The 60-year-old actress had waited 40 years to play the lead in a Hollywood film, and winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy for her starring role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once" was a dream come true. Yeoh's moment in the spotlight made headlines that night as her award speech went viral. But following the ceremony, another moment went viral, the split second Yeoh's name was called as the winner and the reaction of her co-star, Jamie Lee Curtis.
Curtis herself had been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the film but didn't win. (That award went to Angela Bassett in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.") But whatever disappointment Curtis may have felt about not winning her own award did not diminish her response to Yeoh's win, which was immediate, intense and immensely joyful.
A screenshot of Curtis' triumphant celebration of Yeoh's win was shared on LinkedIn by Erin Gallagher, CEO and founder of gender equity company Ella, along with a powerful message that's resonating with women everywhere.

Meghan Markle's alleged "outsider" complaint drew fresh criticism after her UK trip with Prince Harry. The ****** ss of Sussex was reportedly hurt by the way palace arrangements unfolded during the visit. A new YouTube segment linked that reaction to her wider trouble with royal life. The royal experts' discussion framed the issue around family protocol, public expectations, and whether the "Suits" actor ever adjusted to the royal family's way of operating.
As per TalkTV's YouTube video uploaded on August 4, 2026, Kevin O'Sullivan discussed Meghan Markle's birthday. He was joined by royal biographer Angela Levin. The segment then moved to the recent UK trip.
O'Sullivan said reports claimed Meghan was upset about being treated like "a pair of outsiders." Levin said Meghan came from "a different family." She added that the ****** ss "can't really know how to deal with it."
Meanwhile, Levin argued that the issue extended beyond a single visit. She said Meghan "won't do anything to fit in." The biographer added she would not adapt to "how the royals fit in." Levin also claimed Meghan "didn't do that from the start."
She said the former "Suits" actress "hated it." The comments framed the royal family clash as cultural and personal. They also followed renewed discussion about Prince Harry's wish for closer royal ties.

Prince Harry reportedly once said that King Charles was "not a hands-on father" during an interview. The Duke of Sussex had a falling out with the monarch after stepping down from his senior working royal duties. The rift deepened further when Harry publicly spoke about his grievances against the Royal Family in several interviews and later in his memoir, "Spare." Now, after Harry and Charles finally reunited during a meeting on July 10, his years-old comments about his father have resurfaced once again.
Angela Levin, a renowned journalist, wrote on her Substack post that Prince Harry once described King Charles as "not a hands-on father." In her post, she shared her views on the prince's personality. She wrote that Harry has always been "entitled" and, while he has a humorous side and natural charisma, he can also be "resentful and demanding."
She continued by saying that even at 41, Harry believes life has been "unfair" to him and wants things to go his way. According to Levin, even though Harry and Meghan Markle resigned from their royal duties in 2020, the duke still wants all the privileges of being a member of the royal family, further calling him a "spoilt child."
Levin also shared her thoughts on Harry's relationship with his father, Charles. She claimed that the prince wants the monarch to "apologise" to Markle. Instead, she believes that the ****** ss of Sussex should be the one offering an apology.
She further argued that Harry's "entitled behaviour" has cost him popularity over the years. He wrote in his memoir, "Spare," about having a smaller room than his brother, Prince William. The duke also talked about receiving "one less sausage at supper." According to Levin, he is so determined to have things his own way. This is why Queen Camilla remained by Charles' side during the reunion between the Sussexes and the king.

When you're at a modern wedding, it's typically just the bride who wears a white dress. However, when Catherine Middleton, Princess of Wales, married William, Prince of Wales, in 2011, her sister Pippa Middleton also (in)famously wore a white gown. The fit of the dress proved to be one of Pippa's most scandalous outfits. Some thought that the look drew focus from Kate's wedding dress, even with all its details, since Pippa's was an ivory-colored gown. But there's been a long tradition, rooted in superstition, of having the bridesmaid and maid of honor dresses match the bride's dress. It crosses cultures, and it's been in place for centuries. It has to do with preventing the bride from being stolen from her wedding.
"A bride would have attendants to protect her from evil spirits," Dr. Angela Thompson, who teaches sociology at Texas Christian University, told The New York Times. "By having several women who are dressed alike, the spirits, or kidnappers, wouldn't know which person was the bride." She also noted that this was a superstition that you can find in places like Rome and China, dating back thousands of years. So since the bride's dress is white, the bridesmaid dresses should also be white.
Read more: Things Kate Middleton Couldn't Do After She Married Prince William

As for why royal wedding gowns, and therefore royal bridesmaid dresses, have been white in recent years, it goes back in large part to Queen Victoria's wedding to Prince Albert in 1840. Her white wedding dress — one of the many royal wedding dresses that hid a secret message — also helped popularize the trend for all brides to choose white for their wedding. She donned a white satin, silk, and lace gown with a full skirt. Before that, wealthy women had worn white dresses for their weddings, but colors like red were also popular, and less well-to-do women often wore a brown or black dress that was less likely to show stains so it could be reworn frequently.

Fresh off the news of the merger with Most Valuable Promotions, Professional Fighters League continued its "Summer Series" runof events with a surge of momentum.

Two of the company's top superstars made their return aslightweight champion UsmanNurmagomedov put his ***** le on the line against undefeatedchallenger ArchieColgan, and DakotaDitcheva denied DeniseKielholtz following a year on the shelf.
Following a brutal and decisive first-round finish over Colgan, there are immediate questions on the future of Nurmagomedov and hisplace in the company, as he just fought out the last fight of hiscontract. Nurmagomedov made it a point to see how the PFL/MVPmerger would lead to a contract offer in terms of pay, and if theykeep him, there's a clear top contender in Shabliy. DefeatingAlfieDavis by unanimous decision last month, Shabliy discussed hisdesire for a ***** le fight and he could get a chance at revenge froma 2024 loss to Nurmagomedov.
Taking on Kielholtz in her first action in over a year, Ditchevadid not have her most outstanding performance, and it was clear shewas shaking off some rust. Ditcheva would control the pace anddistance, grabbing momentum early and never letting it go. Aftergetting the rust off, it's time for the most anticipated women'smatchup in the PFL to take place against last year's tournamentchampion in Carmouche. Getting a recent win over VivianeAraujo, these two women are on a collision course and thereshould be no more time wasted.
Magomedov's performance proved there is another Russian star on thepromotion's roster. Part of the Nurmagomedov team, Magomedov waselectric in his manhandling of AngelAlvarez, chopping down his legs with brutal kicks andeventually getting the TKO finish in the second round. He shouldnow face off against the 2025 PFL Lightweight tournament champion.Davis just suffered a loss to Shabliy back in June, but could getright back into the top of the division if he can stop the momentumof Magomedov. Davis has said that he felt he fought his best in hisloss against Nurmagomedov, who knows Magomedov well, and he couldserve as a great test to see just how quickly he can get himselfback to ***** le contention.
Dayron arguably went through the toughest test of his career and itwas also his closest fight, as he pulled off a razor-thin decisionover RaufeonStots. His opponent was thoroughly shocked at the decision, butit saw Dayron keep his undefeated record intact. Even with the win,Dayron would benefit from another veteran test, and he'd get justthat in Pettis. Recently, Pettis was scheduled to square offagainst LewisMcGrillen-Evans but had to withdraw due to injury, if Pettiscan get healthy sooner than later, he would serve as another greattest for Dayron.

During the UCLA Bruins NCAA championship season, freshman forward Sienna Betts had to take a backseat. While her older sister, Lauren Betts, was championed as the team's marquee star, Sienna waited on the sidelines.
Not only did the younger Betts get off to a late start to her season, not appearing in a game with UCLA until December, she never got a huge role. As a freshman, Betts played only 14.1 minutes and scored 6.0 per game.
Being buried behind her sister, Angela Dugalic and Gabriela Jaquez, there weren't many minutes for Sienna to snag. UCLA opened up their 2026-2027 season with an exhibition match on Wednesday and it appears that Sienna Betts is ready to become a star.
Betts scored 20 points with 12 rebounds and two blocks despite facing off against the Canadian National Team. Those stats were far from empty, as she kept UCLA in the game until the fourth quarter when Team Canada began to break away.
Even with the strong performance, Betts wasn't completely satisfied with her game.

LONDON (AP) — A series of arson and vandalism attacks on Jewish sites in Britain were the work of a proxy group backed by Iran, the U.K. government said Monday.
The government said it is banning the group behind the attacks, the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right, or IMCR, also known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia.
It also banned Iran's powerful paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, which it said is a threat to national security. The move makes it illegal to support the groups. Committing sabotage on their behalf will be punishable by up to life imprisonment.
Parliament must approve the bans, which the government expects to take place by the end of the week.
Security Minister Angela Eagle said in a statement that the IMCR has claimed seven attacks in the U.K. The group had said online that it was responsible for a string of arson attacks on Jewish sites in London in recent months, including fires at synagogues and Jewish charity ambulances, as well as a Persian-language media organization critical of Iran's government. No one was injured in the blazes.

"If he wanted to, he would" has become one of the internet's favorite relationship mantras, but who would've guessed an iconic landmark would be the latest to chime in with the same advice?
The Empire State Building in New York City is proving it's not just a well-known backdrop for love stories, it's got relationship advice to share, too. After two climbers, Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov (also known as Ivan Beerkus), got engaged atop the landmark after a dangerous climb, the building's social media team jumped into action with a viral-worthy message.
After news broke that two climbers were on the top of the Empire State Building flying a flag, people were tuned in to see what would happen next. But what happened next even took news reporters by surprise! When Ivan got down on one knee, the narrative of the shocking moment shifted from a dangerous stunt to a sweet marriage proposal.
The Empire State Building's social media team decided to take this opportunity to continue to promote proposals at the NYC landmark, and use the shocking experience as a relationship lesson in the process.
"Ladies: If he wanted to, he would… Just maybe on our 86th Floor Observation Deck," they wrote in a cheeky Instagram post. It didn't take long for social media users to get in on the action in the comment section.
