Former UFC ***** le challenger Anthony Smith entered a not guilty plea to multiple felony charges.
"Lionheart" was arrested in July in Nebraska following an incident with his wife. ?Smith is accused of terrostic threats, two counts of false imprisonment and attempt of a class 1/1A/1B/1C/1D felony. He's been ordered to appear in court for a status hearing on Sept. 21. He's currently out on $45,000 bail.
Days after the arrest, the Sarpy County District Attorney's Office released a statement detailing the accusations against Smith.
"It is alleged that on July 26, 2026, the defendant was involved in an altercation with his wife at a bar in Gretna, Neb., during which he reportedly threatened to kill her if she did not get into his vehicle and go home with him," the statement read. "He is further accused of grabbing and pushing her inside the vehicle.
"At one point, during the drive, she was able to exit the vehicle. The defendant allegedly continued making threats, demanding that she get back inside the vehicle. After arriving home, she again exited the vehicle. Investigators allege that the defendant attempted multiple times to use the vehicle to strike her. The defendant's wife was able to get out of the way and avoid any physical harm."

Netflix has moved to dismiss Tyra Banks' defamation suit targeting the streamer and its America's Next Top Model docuseries.
According to PEOPLE, Netflix, which released Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model in February, filed a motion to dismiss the suit on Friday, Aug. 14, citing that Banks' accusations are "about ordinary editorial decisions."
"After the interview, [Banks] signed an agreement granting the filmmakers the right to edit her interview footage, acknowledging she had 'no right to review or approve' the finished documentary, and releasing claims arising from it — including for defamation and false light," Netflix's motion reads.
"She now alleges the documentary…defames her — not because it says anything false about her, but because she wanted advance notice of what another interviewee would say, more of her interview included, and her perspective presented differently," the motion continued.
In June, Banks filed a defamation and "false light" lawsuit against Netflix and the directors of the docuseries. In her complaint, Banks claims that despite sitting for a three-and-a-half-hour interview to candidly reflect on the iconic reality show's complex legacy, producers utilized just 16 minutes of her footage through "surgical manipulation" and selective editing.

LONDON (AP) — A British sociologist who resigned last week from the University of Cambridge following weeks of public accusations of plagiarism and media scrutiny was found dead Friday.
Jason Arday, who was 37 when he became Cambridge's youngest Black professor in 2023, resigned after he came under intense media pressure, with weeks of allegations about plagiarism in his academic work and questions surrounding claims about his athletic and fundraising accomplishments.
The Times and Telegraph newspapers, along with the BBC and Sky News, reported that Arday, 41, was found "unresponsive" inside a home in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon.
News of his death comes the same week as the release of his memoir, "Great and Unfortunate Things," a highly anticipated work that Simon & Schuster had decided to release despite the doubts about his credibility. In a statement issued through his publisher, Arday's family said that they were "in shock to have lost this amazing father, partner, brother, uncle and son."
"The campaign of misinformation was too much for Jason, who was a gentle man and who always wanted to see the best in everyone," the family said, adding that for three years Arday was "subjected to a campaign of sustained abuse ... by those who would leave no stone unturned in their quest to undermine him."
