Lily Reynolds enjoyed a tremendous first full season pitching on the varsity level as a sophomore for Colonie in 2026.
Before her final two high schools seasons, Reynolds has already provided longtime University at Albany softball coach Chris Cannata her verbal commitment to pitch for the Great Danes of the America East Conference.
"I just realized that I wanted to stay home and be around my family. That was really the big deciding factor for me - not necessarily the D-I label," Reynolds said of her decision.
"She called me (Wednesday) and I told her this is the best news ever," said Colonie coach Kelly Colvin, who played at Shenendehowa and UAlbany. "Lily has put in so much hard work with us at Colonie and with the (Capital District) Fusion. It is really cool to see it pay off for her. We're all very excited."
During her sophomore season, Reynolds compiled a 7-2 record with a 1.61 earned run average and 115 strikeouts over 91 1/3 innings for the Wolf Pack. She was named to the Times Union all-star team as a first-team selection.

On its face, France and India do not have much in common. France is a NATO ally; India has remained outside any alliance system. France had numerous colonies around the world and maintains relations with many of them since they achieved independence. India was not one of those countries — it was the jewel in the British crown.
Yet both states have a common self-perception as independent poles in a multipolar world.
Despite its membership of NATO, France's long-standing refusal to join NATO's nuclear planning group reflects both its determination to maintain the independence of its nuclear deterrent and policy of what president Emmanuel Macron calls "strategic autonomy." And he is extending a French nuclear umbrella to other European states.
India, like France, is a nuclear power. It too has long pursued an independent national security policy. New Delhi did have close military and economic relations with the Soviet Union and still is a major purchaser of Russian oil. Nevertheless, the former leader of the non-aligned group of nations has no formal alliances and does not seek any.
Although France and India have maintained good relations since India achieved independence in 1947, their ties reached a turning point in 1998. That was when India conducted five nuclear tests and Washington issued sanctions against India. France did not. Indeed, France upgraded its strategic relationship with India that year.

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch said in a recent interview that the U.S. was not founded on "one race or one religion," pushing back on arguments made by conservatives such as Vice President Vance.
"We were founded, a lot of our colonies, for our religious pluralism, right? And the opportunity to practice your own faith in your own way," Gorsuch told PBS host Margaret Hoover in an episode of "Firing Line" published Friday.
"And we were never supposed to be a nation that was about one race or one religion, it was about those ideas," he added, referring to America's founding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. "And those things are perfect ideas that speak to every human heart and that unite us all."
Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, touted his view in December that Christianity provided the prevailing ideals for the founding and continuation of the country.
"I'm not saying you have to be a Christian to be an American. I'm saying something simpler and truer: Christianity is America's creed, the shared moral language from the Revolution to the Civil War and beyond," the vice president said at Turning Point USA's annual "AmericaFest" event.

The duo are among nine members of the England athletics team to pull out on the day of the opening ceremony on Thursday in a major blow to the competition’s organizers.
