Amid the chaos of New York Fashion Week, Demi Moore is stopping to smell the roses.
The Oscar-nominated actress surprised guests when she made an appearance at the Magda Butrym NYFW show on Sunday, Sept. 13. Held at the Starrett-Lehigh Building in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, the luxury ready-to-wear brand was not only celebrating its spring–summer 2027 collection; the show also marked the Polish brand's first runway presentation in New York.
Moments before the show began, Moore slipped into the designer's front row, joining Kelly Rutherford, Anna Van Patten and Nara Smith. Sitting in between Smith and Rutherford, Moore greeted both women with friendly hugs and handshakes before taking her seat.
With majority of the front row crew garbed in grey and black ensembles, the "St. Elmo's Fire" actress stood out in an all-white Magda Butrym look featuring an ivory crochet halter top styled with a white oversized blazer and matching column maxi skirt. Moore topped off the look with a mini white top-handle bag and pointed-toe crochet pumps that matched her top.
As guests awaited the start of the show, Moore admired the runway lined with pale pink rose petals, at one point taking a moment to smell the roses — literally — by bringing a few petals to the tip of her nose as she chatted with Rutherford.

Meg Jones, captain of England women's rugby union team, wants Red Roses players to have access to fertility support and egg freezing.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Jones said: "Why should my opportunity to have a family be taken away from me because I want to pursue my career?"
Jones revealed she has already started her fertility journey with her fiancee after visiting a clinic to have their egg count checked.
The 29-year-old says that she's an "open book" on some subjects and wants to "share her journey" as she discusses both her upcoming wedding and family planning with equal comfort.
"We were looking to freeze, but actually the advice was we don't need to freeze yet so we can probably wait till after the wedding," said Jones. "That's where we were going to look to conceive."

WASHINGTON (AP) — Instead of adding new roses, President Donald Trump's White House Rose Garden is growing statues.
Trump put statues of some of America's founders in the garden just off the Oval Office after he replaced its plush lawn with a white stone patio, turning the historic outdoor **** e into a look-alike of the one at his Mar-a-Lago home and private club in Palm Beach, Florida.
At least one statue was a gift. Others are on loan from people who wish to remain anonymous.
The latest addition, a bronze depiction of a seated Thomas Jefferson signing the Declaration of Independence, was a gift from George Lundeen, a sculptor from Loveland, Colorado. It joins statues already displayed there of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and Ben Franklin. A fifth sculpture named "Freedom's Charge" is also on the patio.
The statues are part of Trump's sweeping series of White House renovations, from his gilded makeover of the Oval Office to the ballroom and helipad that the Republican president is having built on the south grounds. These projects fit into Trump's broader plan to leave his mark on downtown Washington through other construction projects, including a statue garden on federal land near the National Mall.

King Charles has headed to Scotland to start his summer break, and he was recently in Caithness in the Scottish Highlands. During his time there, he stayed at the Castle of Mey, as he traditionally does in late July and early August.
On this occasion, the King made a new addition to the home, planting the King's Rose in the gardens, which were previously cultivated by his late grandmother, the Queen Mother. Charles was pictured in the Walled Garden at the castle, which is located by the Pink Arbor.
In images from the King's Foundation, Charles was seen in a tweed jacket and kilt, while he carried a walking stick that he often employs when on the uneven ground of Scotland. He was seen standing by a vase that carried the King's Rose, which was bred by David Austin Roses and named in Charles' honour.
The semi-double, repeat-flowering shrub boasts delicately papery petals with distinct stripes in shades of fuchsia pink and white.
The King has now added the rose to the gardens (PA)

Ellie Kildunne; Helena Rowland, Meg Jones, Jade Shekells, Alex Matthews; Holly Aitchison, Natasha Hunt.
Even with Matthews, more usually in the back row, deployed as an emergency wing, it is a punchy England backline.
Six of the seven played in the Red Roses' World Cup final win over Canada last year. Before that though, all seven played top-level sevens.
"Some of the world's best 15 players have come through sevens," says GB Sevens player Abbie Brown. "That Red Roses backline was our sevens squad at one point.
"So, yeah, it can be frustrating."

He has shared a studio with Charles Barkley for over two decades. Survived every Inside the NBA segment Ernie Johnson has thrown at him and spent years being the target of the Jet jokes that have made Thursday nights essential television. On Saturday, Kenny Smith gave the basketball world something new to celebrate — and the Inside the NBA family showed up exactly as expected.
Smith married Tia Jurcic at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California, marking his third trip down the aisle. The "Inside the NBA" host and his Croatian influencer bride announced the news in a joint Instagram post reading "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
The post on Instagram showed an outdoor ceremony held beneath a hanging chandelier framed by white drapery and arrangements of white and pink roses. Smith wore a white suit jacket with a black bowtie, while Jurcic chose a strapless gown with a full, Cinderella-style skirt.
The NBA world reacted to the moment with congratulatory messages in the comment section. Barkley, Smith's "Inside the NBA" co-host, kept it short and sweet: "Congrats, Jet!!"
Reggie Miller followed with "Congrats Brotha," while Chris Webber added his own "Congrats!!" Former NBA forward Carlos Boozer added "Congrats fam," and Danny Green also sent in his well-wishes with "Congrats my guy!!!"

While on a set as a teenage actor, Astin says Duke "flipped out" on a crew member who made a "disparaging" comment about his braces.
"She was only 4 feet 11 inches, but she scared the s--- out of people," Astin joked.

England missed out on a netball medal after suffering a second crushing defeat to Australia on the final day of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Roses fell away after a promising first quarter to lose 68-50, emulating their earlier 66-47 defeat to the Diamonds in the group phase.
Australia, who had been forced to quickly regroup after Saturday's stunning last-gasp semi-final loss to Jamaica, dominated the second half of the contest to secure the bronze medal.
It is the first time Australia have not contested a netball final since the sport was introduced to the Games in 1998. Jamaica are set to face New Zealand in the gold medal match later on Sunday.

England's netballers were beaten 68-50 by world number one side Australia in their quest to win bronze at the Commonwealth Games.
The day after Saturday morning's frustrating semi-final loss to New Zealand, England tried to rally themselves to get on the podium but came up against a Diamonds team recovering from one of the biggest shocks in the tournament's history.
Australia - who had previously been in every Commonwealth final and won the tournament four times - were stunned by Jamaica on Saturday afternoon, giving them less time to recover for the bronze-medal match than England.
The crowd responded to a lively start as great pressure from Roses captain Fran Williams led to Australia shooter Kiera Austin missing a shot with the score at 5-5, and Liv Tchine neatly slotted the ball in to open up a lead at the other end.
England worked hard to shut down the Diamonds' forward-passing options, forcing them to play sideways, but the team in green and gold found their rhythm with devastating consequences, overturning a 9-7 deficit to lead 19-11 in a bruising seven-minute first-quarter spell for the Roses.

England's netballers reached the Commonwealth Games semi-finals after producing a pulsating comeback to beat South Africa 58-54.
With both sides tied on six points but the Roses ahead of the Proteas on goal average in pool A's second spot going into the game, England had to avoid defeat to progress.
Elmere van der Berg was in fine form early on to fire South Africa into a six-goal lead at the end of the first quarter with 16 of her nation's 17 goals to leave England facing an uphill task.
But some excellent and aggressive defensive work by second-quarter substitute Halimat Adio helped England spring multiple counter-attacks to claw their way back to just 29-28 down at the halfway stage.
The Roses started to take control in the third quarter, opening up a seven-goal lead at one stage before the Proteas netted three times in quick succession to go into the final 15 minutes 43-39 behind.

After several weeks of tight margins and constant movement in the NSL standings, Week 13 saw the league's in-form teams separate themselves from the pack. Ottawa Rapid FC, Montréal Roses FC, and defending champions Vancouver Rise FC all collected another three points, strengthening their cases as genuine ****** le contenders.
For Vancouver, the past weekend may have been the most significant. Their victory over AFC Toronto lifted the Rise from fifth into third place, a reminder that the reigning champions are finding their rhythm at exactly the right time. With confidence growing and key players hitting form, they'll now have one eye on the teams above them.
Meanwhile, Ottawa continue to set the standard. The Rapid have now won four straight matches, while Montréal's disciplined performances have stretched their unbeaten run with a third consecutive victory. Every point is becoming more valuable as the season moves into its decisive stretch. The race at the top is beginning to intensify.
Ottawa's winning streak didn't come easily. It showed exactly why the Rapid have become one of the league's toughest teams to beat.
The opening half was evenly contested with Halifax creating enough chances to trouble the hosts. Melissa Dagenais was called into action on multiple occasions and produced several important saves to keep the match level.

A comedian and social media personality says she delivered a cake bearing a provocative message about the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to the senator's Capitol Hill office, according to posts she shared online.
"I just dropped this cake off at Lindsey Graham's office," Elizabeth Booker Houston wrote in a Tuesday X post. "Congratudolences, Darline! Your brother is burning in ***** , and now, you're working for the devil!"
She included a photo of the cake that featured a printed photograph of Graham smiling in a suit and tie.
Media Ghouls, Commentators Across Political Aisle Mock Lindsey Graham's Death With 'Good Riddance' Posts
White frosting bordered the cake, with blue icing roses decorating the top left corner and scattered around the edges. Across the top, the cake read, "CONGRATUDOLENCES!"—a play on the words "congratulations" and "condolences."

Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter AB de Villiers has revealed that Virat Kohli tried to convince him not to retire from franchise cricket before he stepped away from the game in 2021.
Speaking on TOI Sports' Bombay Sports Exchange Podcast, de Villiers said Kohli made an effort to change his mind, but he had already decided it was the right time to move on.
"Yes. He tried," de Villiers said when asked if Kohli tried to stop him.
The South African great retired from international cricket in 2018 after helping his team beat India and Australia at home. He continued playing franchise cricket, including for RCB in the Indian Premier League (IPL), before retiring from all forms of the game in 2021.
"I walked away from international cricket exactly when I wanted to (2018). We had beaten India and Australia at home, and I left on a high."
"Then I decided I'd continue playing a few T20 tournaments, travel the world with my family, take them to the IPL, to England for the Blast, to Australia for the Big Bash and a few other tournaments. When I finally felt ready, I called it a day (from franchise cricket as well, in 2021)."
De Villiers said retiring from the IPL was not a sudden decision and that he had been thinking about it throughout his final season.
"It took time. That thought stayed in my mind throughout the final season or so. Eventually, I simply went up to Virat and said, 'I'm done'," de Villiers said.
De Villiers also spoke about the pressure of playing in front of packed crowds at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where fans chanted his name.
"That can be draining as well. Those moments also bring sleepless nights. It's not all sunshine and roses. There are difficult moments too. The expectations and pressure you put on yourself can sometimes become suffocating. I've spoken about that before. I'm incredibly proud of what I achieved. But before big matches, I'd often struggle to sleep. I'd be so focused on making an impact for the team that I found it difficult to simply be myself. So it wasn't always easy," De Villiers said on TOI Sports' Bombay Sports Exchange Podcast.
Reflecting on life after retirement, he said the joy of success does not last long, even for the biggest players.
"Of course, I miss those moments. When everything clicked and the crowd helped me enter that zone, it was an incredible feeling. But success disappears very quickly. Every champion will tell you the same thing. You win the biggest trophy, and an hour later you're already asking yourself, "Now what?" Then your attention shifts immediately to the next trophy. You're never fully satisfied with those achievements. Having said that, I can now look back at those memories with enormous gratitude."

After a nice, solid drubbing of the Houston Astros on Friday night which evened the four-game series at a game apiece, the Detroit Tigers looked to clinch at least a series tie on Saturday afternoon. Despite a lovely grand slam early in the game, the Tiger bullpen couldn’t hold onto this one as the Astros prevailed 8-6.
Framber Valdez’s seventeenth start for the Tigers aimed to build upon two solid, six-inning, one-run outings in a row. Regardless of the start, though, walks have been a problem for him: coming into today he’d walked at least two batters in every start since the middle of May. As the late Jim Price used to bemoan on the radio broadcasts, “Oh, those bases on ****** !”
Facing the Tigers today was Kai-Wei Teng, making his tenth start of the season to go along with thirteen relief appearances. He’s found a home in Houston’s rotation after having limited success in San Francisco the past two years. That’s not to say it’s been all sunshine-and-roses lately; to wit, two starts ago he faced these very same Tigers in Houston and didn’t make it through the fourth inning, having given up five runs and a trio of taters. One of those was to Colt Keith, amongst the three he hit that lovely day.
The Astros struck first: in the bottom of the second Christian Walker led off with a double; Kerry Carpenter took a strange route to it and might’ve had a play on it in some parallel universe. That cost the Tigers a run as Cam Smith immediately followed with a sizzling line drive home run to left field.
Meanwhile, the Tigers were getting pretty good swings against Teng, but the line drives seemed to be finding gloves at an annoying rate.

Tyler Herro dating Kyle Kuzma's ex sparks buzz as they are now teammates originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Milwaukee Bucks locker might be a little awkward, as Tyler Herro just got traded to the team where Kyle Kuzma has been for about a year and a half. Herro was part of the trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. While Herro and Kuzma have no beef with one another, fans immediately noticed their shared dating history.
Herro has been dating Instagram model Katya Elise Henry for several years, and the pair shares two children, but prior to their relationship beginning, she briefly dated Kuzma. As the trade news became official, the storyline made it back to the internet.
Henry and Kuzma only dated from late 2018 to late 2019. The Instagram model then started dating Herro the following year during the COVID-19 pandemic. She went viral when she posted a YouTube video in 2020 about Kuzma " not being able to handle her," which brought more attention to the former relationship.
While Henry has moved on, so has Kuzma. He has been in a relationship with model Winnie Harlow for several years and proposed to her last year. He chartered a private plane to Turks and Caicos for he and Harlow which he decorated with roses and champagne.

Nat Metcalf has the chance to go for a second gold medal after being selected in England's netball squad for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with Fran Williams announced as captain.
The 12-strong group includes four players from newly crowned Netball Super League champions AO Manchester Thunder.
London Pulse star shooter Liv Tchine will serve as a Roses vice-captain, along with Thunder's Amy Carter, while the youngest member of the squad is 21-year-old defender Jayda Pechova.
Nottingham Forest's Pechova won the league's 2026 Player of the Year award, as well as Fans' Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year as she helped her team achieve a top-four finish for the first time.
She was a nominee for the BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year award in 2022, when aged 18, and a first senior England cap followed in 2023 against New Zealand.

The Northern Super League (NSL) returned from a week-long break with another string of unpredictable results, with Ottawa Rapid FC taking the lead in the table.
For weeks, the Montréal Roses looked untouchable. They sat at the top of the standings and seemed destined to extend their lead. Instead, the door for Ottawa opened and they were forced to settle for a late draw in Toronto.
Of course, DB Pridham wasn’t going to let that opportunity go to waste.
A commanding 3-1 victory over Vancouver Rise FC had ended their impressive winning streak. Unfortunately, it also sent the Rapid to the top of the table for the first time this season. Here’s the stinger: Ottawa is a genuine ****** le contender.
Elsewhere, Halifax Tides FC secured three points and a second clean sheet this season. They maintained their upward trajectory with a controlled victory over Calgary Wild FC.

Manchester United’s 2026/27 third kit is reportedly inspired by the Lancashire Rose and Salford Lads Club, according to reporting from UtdDistrict, with the design drawing on two of the most culturally significant symbols in the club’s immediate geography. The shirt is expected to launch in August 2026, completing a three-kit cycle that leans heavily on historical and local reference points.
Footy Headlines describe the third as a direct homage to the Salford area, incorporating the twin Lancashire roses that flank the entrance of Salford Lads Club – the Grade II listed youth club on Coronation Street that has served local communities since 1903. The third sits alongside a home shirt nodding to 1970s United and an away kit revisiting the late-1980s royal blue adidas template, making it the most overtly local of the three offerings.
Full confirmed details on the colour palette and exact graphic execution are still pending an official unveiling, but the design inspiration is reported to centre on the gold Lancashire roses synonymous with the Salford Lads Club’s distinctive green-panelled entrance. The shirt will carry the modern adidas Performance logo rather than the retro Trefoil used on the 2025/26 third, maintaining continuity with the current on-pitch range.
This is not new territory for United or adidas. The 2019/20 third kit used a tonal rose pattern on a dark base to mark 110 years since the 1909 FA Cup win – the club’s first – explicitly framing the Lancashire rose as foundational to United’s early identity. The 2023/24 home shirt went further still, with adidas design director Inigo Turner describing the red rose as a symbol that “evokes a great sense of pride in the people of Manchester,” embedding a rose-inspired geometric pattern and a collar detail to match.
Salford Lads Club’s cultural footprint extends well beyond football. Its entrance became internationally recognisable after featuring on the inner sleeve of The Smiths’ 1986 album The Queen Is Dead, turning the building into a pilgrimage site for music fans from across the world – many of whom overlap, naturally, with United’s global support base. The gold roses on those green panels are as specific a piece of Salford iconography as anything the city holds.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NEW YORK - JUNE 06: Golden Tempo with Jose Ortiz up, wins the 158th running of the Belmont Stakes with with Commandment and John Velazquez up finishing second at Saratoga Race Course on June 06, 2026 in Saratoga Springs, New York. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)
The thrilling Belmont Stakes win at Saratoga by Golden Tempo has placed the Kentucky Derby champion firmly atop Thoroughbred racing’s most publicized division. The Triple Crown series for three-year-olds garners more attention than other races, but as the sport builds towards the Breeders’ Cup in late October, there will be plenty of action throughout the summer as others look to take a shot at the horse that became the 13th runner to pull off the Derby-Belmont Double
Entering the Belmont Stakes, Golden Tempo had plenty of doubters. His dream worst-to-first trip in the Kentucky Derby at odds of 23-1 was thought to be a fluke that could not be duplicated against a smaller field. As a deep closer, trainer Cherie DeVaux’s darling was considered as too pace dependent to pull off another victory in a race that lacked early speed.

Breaking from his outside post, that was said to be an obstacle by some, jockey Jose Ortiz calmly guided his mount over to the rail for another ground-saving trip in this mile and a quarter journey. Chasing much softer early fractions (23.96 opening quarter, 48.29 half mile) than he did in the Kentucky Derby, this son of Curlin was at the back, but much closer to the leaders in this nine-horse field. Rolling through traffic into the far turn the pace up front was not factor for a horse and jockey that moved as one. Unleashing his powerful closing kick down the lane, the Tempo turned out to be quite Golden as he flexed to the finish a length and a quarter ahead of a hard-trying Commandment. Cherie Devaux became the second female trainer to win the Belmont Stakes (Jena Antonucci 2023 Arcangelo) as she guided Golden Tempo to his third win in five starts this year and fourth victory in six career outings.

Jonny Bairstow inspired Yorkshire to a record Roses win over Lancashire Lightning, while Hampshire Hawks made it five wins from six on a busy Friday in the T20 Blast.
Former England batter Bairstow smashed four sixes and seven fours in a 44-ball knock worth 73 at the top of the order at Headingley, helping the North Group leaders to a total of 213-7, before a below-par Red Rose were skittled for 107 in reply with Jafer Chohan claiming four wickets.
Hampshire continued their dominance of the South Group after piling on the runs in a thrilling five-run win over Surrey at The Oval, despite Dan Lawrence's unbeaten 94 and 70 from Will Jacks in reply.
Elsewhere, D'Arcy Short helped Gloucestershire to an easy west country derby win against defending champions Somerset, who are now fifth in the Central & West Group, while Worcestershire continued their good start with victory over Glamorgan.
In cross-pool play Notts Outlaws inflicted a fifth-straight defeat on Warwickshire Bears after a tense finale, while Sussex were edged out by Leicestershire thanks to late fireworks from Ashton Turner after Harrison Ward had earlier smashed 69 from 33 ***** for the hosts.
