St. Thomas Aquinas is all alone as the No. 1 team in Florida.
The Raiders received all 11 first-place votes in the USA Today Florida Network Super 25 heading into Week 1. Aquinas received eight first-place votes in the preseason poll.
Apparently, a dominant road win over a defending state champion in the Kickoff Classic was all the evidence voters needed to prove itself to the voters.
Aquinas raced out to a 36-0 halftime lead and beat Cardinal Mooney, the 2025 Class 3A state champion, 49-0 on Aug. 14.
IMG Academy, Chaminade-Madonna, Carol City and American Heritage round out the top five.

The start of the high school football season has arrived. A handful of states like Georgia have started playing; while some states like Florida and Alabama wrapped up preseason exhibition play last week.
With more and more teams hitting the field later this week, USA TODAY Sports is releasing its Week 0 rankings — its final preseason look at the top teams entering the 2026 high school football season.
At the top remains IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL), which is coming off an undefeated season and has talent superior to the rest of the country. At Nos. 2 and 3 sit St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA) and Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV), a pair of teams who will face each other this coming Friday in a battle of top-3 teams.
No. 12 Grayson (Loganville, GA) lost in its first game of the season, marking the sole team from the July preseason rankings to fall out of the Super 25 this week. In its place steps Hough (Cornelius, NC), which added dangerous defenders to a team that went undefeated in 2025.
Below, see the rankings and why each team looks promising entering the 2026 football season.

Paula Creamer celebrated her 40th birthday in style. The 2010 U.S. Women's Open champion's surprise celebration was a sea of pink, her signature color. Even the Pink Panther mascot made an appearance.
Creamer got her nickname, the "Pink Panther," decades ago from Casey Wittenberg at the IMG Academy given her love of all things pink.

Matt Damon's 20-year-old daughter Isabella Damon is taking a formal step into modeling. Isabella has signed with IMG Models, and the agency now lists her among its New York talent with a portfolio and digitals already published online.
Page Six first reported the signing on August 10. IMG's listing provides direct confirmation, identifying Isabella in its New York directory and listing her height as 5 feet 8 inches.
The move comes while Isabella is also pursuing her education. She enrolled at New York University in 2024, according to PEOPLE.
She has also been spending more time in front of cameras. Earlier this year, Isabella modeled for a fashion shoot photographed by her older sister Alexia, and in July she joined Matt and Luciana Damon on the New York red carpet for The Odyssey.
Isabella's signing is visible on the official IMG profile rather than existing only through reports about a new contract. Her agency page includes both a portfolio and digitals and places her under IMG's New York territory.

Mililani collected nine of 13 first-place votes to claim the No. 1 ranking in the first Honolulu Star-Advertiser Football Top 10 of the season.
The Trojans are stoked about the arrival of two major offensive playmakers: quarterback Hunter Fujikawa and wide receiver Zion White. The two played together as sophomores at Punahou in 2024. White transferred to IMG Academy as a junior, but returned to the islands this year.
Fujikawa played three seasons at Punahou before enrolling at Mililani for his senior year.
Defending Open Division state champion Campbell received three first-place votes and is No. 2. On Friday, the Sabers will visit No. 7 Waipahu. Campbell will not host a football game this fall, the third year in a row without a home contest due to lingering facility issues.
Kahuku, under first-year head coach David Stant, garnered one first-place vote and opens the season at No. 3. Stant was the offensive coordinator last year. In 2009, he guided Kamehameha to a state championship.

Texas A&M's No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class has yet to be challenged, outside of Notre Dame, and the Texas Longhorns are making significant strides over the past month, but after five-star cornerback John Meredith reclassified to the 2026 signing class, only the Fighting Irish have a real shot at challenging the Aggies for the top spot.
Unanimously ranked No. 1 in 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN's recruiting rankings, coach Mike Elko, who is entering his third season at the helm, also leads the nation with six five-star commitments in ESPN's rankings after securing blue-chip wide receiver Eric McFarland III in late June.
On paper, Texas A&M's future offensive and defensive lines are all but secured with five-star tackle Mark Matthews leading the way as the program's top-ranked commit, paired with fellow five-star OL Kennedy Brown, who is considered the better overall offensive line prospect, according to ESPN. Coupled with four-star tackles DeMarrion Johnson and Kaeden Scott, OL coach Adam Cushing isn't lacking NFL-level talent in the trenches.
As ESPN's Craig Haubert notes, Mike Elko's defensive background and continued role as the team's defensive play-caller have helped secure commitments from five-star Edge Zyron Forstall and four-star pass rusher Kaden McCarty just a year after former Bowling Green Edge Cashius Howell earned unanimous All-American status with an SEC-leading 11.5 sacks.
"Mike Elko is tapping into his defensive roots with the Aggies' 2027 class. Looking to reload a unit that was among the best at getting to the quarterback in 2025, five-star edge Zyron Forstall, out of IMG Academy, is not a hulking physical presence, but he has an explosive first step and plays with excellent pad level and strength at the point of attack."

When Modi Oyewole first tried golf in 2023, he did not plan to start a business. As vice president of creative at Def Jam Recordings, he sought a meaningful pursuit beyond corporate entertainment, according to Inc.
https://www.instagram.com/...
His viewpoint changed after attending a Hypegolf Invitational hosted by Hypebeast. Seeing the combination of streetwear culture with golf, Oyewole recognized the sport's ability to foster community instead of exclusivity.
This insight led to the founding of Swang, a Los Angeles-based golf collective co-founded by Oyewole and Josh Hubberman, a creative strategist at Cthdrl. What began as an informal group of 15 at a local driving range has grown rapidly to more than 1,200 active members and hosted over 50 events in its first year. The group's biweekly gatherings regularly attract hundreds, showing Swang's momentum and ability to bring new faces into the golf community. By focusing on making golf more open and culturally connected, Swang has attracted substantial corporate support.
Golf participation has reached record highs in recent years, according to the National Golf Foundation. However, Oyewole and Hubberman saw Swang's main opportunity in broadening the sense of welcome on the course.

As head coach Steve Sarkisian took the stage in Tampa at SEC Media Days, focus shifted to a massive addition to the 2026 roster as consensus five-star cornerback John Meredith reclassified to the 2026 recruiting class and signed with the Texas Longhorns, the school announced on Thursday.
The decision by the 6'2.5, 187-pounder comes a little more than a month after he committed to Texas over Alabama and Texas A&M, but a more important development happened this month when the UIL denied Meredith's eligibility appeal.
After Meredith's mother got married last fall, they moved in with his stepfather as the talented cornerback switched schools from Euless Trinity to North Crowley, a decision that was ultimately deemed an athletic move by Euless Trinity and upheld by the UIL.
And although initially speculation centered around Meredith spending his senior season at IMG Academy in Florida, he was able to complete enough credits to reclassify and enroll at Texas for the 2026 season.
Previously ranked as the No. 3 player nationally and the No. 1 cornerback, Meredith will step into a deep and talented cornerback room on the Forty Acres coached by Mark Orphey.

Four-star defensive back recruit Censere ****** is ready to announce his commitment. The talented class of 2027 defensive back will decide among his top three schools on Saturday, July 11.
Gaylord plays defensive back for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The four-star's final three schools are the Georgia Bulldogs, Washington Huskies and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. ****** recently visited each of his top schools ahead of his commitment. 247Sports predicts that the IMG Academy star will commit to Washington.
Georgia has recently landed elite IMG Academy defensive back recruits like Ellis Robinson and Daylen Everette.
The 6-foot, 165-pound defensive back is the top uncommitted recruit in Florida, per 247Sports. He is the No. 113 recruit in the nation and the No. 13 cornerback. ****** is the No. 12 recruit in Florida. If ****** commits to Washington, then he'd become the Huskies' top-ranked recruit in the 2027 cycle.
Defensive back stands out as an obvious position of need for coach Kirby Smart and Georgia. The Bulldogs have no current commitments at cornerback or safety in the 2027 recruiting cycle.

Texas A&M's historic recruiting haul in Florida just got a lot better.
IMG five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland, the No. 5 ranked player on the USA TODAY Florida Network top 100, committed to the Aggies on June 28.
Texas A&M now has commitments from six Florida players in the 2027 class, including four of the top five.
FRANKENSTEIN RECRUIT: Building Florida's perfect WR recruit using Top 100 prospects for 2027
McFarland joins a ridiculously talented class, that includes St. Thomas Aquinas offensive tackle Mark Matthews (No. 1), IMG edge rusher Zyron Forstall (No. 2), Jesuit linebacker Kaden Henderson (No. 4), Jones edge rusher Fred Ards III (No. 28) and West Boca safety Loia Valade (No. 62).

Happy Monday, everyone. There were many hallelujahs over the weekend after Alabama landed a top 100 prospect in WR Osani Gayles.
After landing multiple receivers in Kalen DeBoer’s first two recruiting classes at Alabama, Gayles is the first one to join Alabama in 2027. But Gayles is the quality of receiver the Crimson Tide expects to land on a yearly basis.
After adding four-star Cederian Morgan in 2026, a top-50 wide receiver from Alexander City, Gayles continues that same trajectory as a different type of receiver. While a smaller frame at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, he is speedy, reporting a 4.43-second 40-yard dash.
A California native that transferred to IMG Academy, Gayles had 20 catches for 492 yards and five touchdowns, per 247Sports, adding 70 rushing yards and a score on five carries.
DeBoer has mostly shown an affinity for big pass catchers, but every squad needs a gamebreaker or two and Gayles has that potential.

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff continue to dominate the Florida recruiting landscape after landing a massive commitment from 2027 five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland on Sunday afternoon, as the electric playmaker out of the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida chose the Aggies over the Florida Gators and Georgia, and all but completes the Aggies' future wide receiver rotation.
After landing rising three-star WR Damani Warren, who will serve as the future X receiver, while four-star commit Jayden Upshaw is expected to play at the Z receiver spot, Eric McFarland's elite speed and explosiveness in the open field make him an immediate replacement after star wideout Mario Craver likely declares for the 2027 NFL Draft.
In the 2026 cycle, Elko and new OC Holmon Wiggins signed four wide receiver commits, led by blue-chip Georgia native Aaron Gregory, who stood out this spring and will likely see the field this fall due to his size and position versatility. Looking ahead, if Texas A&M's high roster retention continues, the combination of speed, size, and playmaking skill sets at wide receiver will put the Aggies in the national **** le conversation for years to come.
Outside of a handful of seasons under former head coach Kevin Sumlin, landing and developing blue-chip wide receivers had been an ongoing issue that kept the Aggies behind the eight ball, and while average to above-average quarterback play can also be blamed, the 2026 WR room is much too talented for redshirt junior signal-caller Marcel Reed not to take the next step in development.
Looking past Marcel Reed, whoever steps in as the Aggies' next starting quarterback will have a treasure trove of elite wide receivers to work with, combined with a future offensive line littered with blue-chip talent.

IMG Academy is known as an athletic talent factory, and there are few sports that is truer for than men's basketball. The Ascenders constantly see their alumni walk the stage on draft night, and the 2026 NBA draft was no different.
IMG Academy had two former Ascenders taken in the first round of this year's NBA draft, the third time since 2023.
Darius Acuff Jr. made IMG Academy history as the highest draft pick in Ascender history after being taken No. 7 overall by the Sacramento Kings.
Acuff Jr., who was named a McDonald's All-American while at IMG, had a breakout freshman season at Arkansas, setting a program record for points (845) and ******* ists (232) by a freshman while being named SEC Player of the Year and tournament MVP.
Cleveland went on to take Alex Karaban No. 29 overall out of UConn before trading the pick to Sacramento. It's the first time two Ascenders have been taken by the same team in the same round of the NBA draft. Karaban posted 132 PPG and 5.3 RPG as a senior at UConn after winning back-to-back national championships his freshman and sophomore seasons.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to four-star wide receiver recruit Jordan Gorham, who is a member of the class of 2028. The rising junior plays high school football for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. IMG Academy is a football powerhouse and has provided Georgia with some elite talent over the years including defensive back Daylen Everette, linebacker Nolan Smith and defensive back Ellis Robinson.
Georgia offered Gorham after he attended a UGA football camp in June. The four-star recruit is ranked as the No. 223 prospect in the country, per 247Sports. The class of 2028 pass catcher is ranked as the No. 32 player at his position and the No. 31 recruit in Florida.
The 6-foot-5, 180-pound receiver is a good athlete that transferred to IMG Academy this year. Gorham runs track and plays basketball in addition to football. The lengthy receiver has good speed and recently ran a 4.56 40-yard dash.
"After a great camp, I am blessed to received an offer from the University of Georgia," Gorham said via social media after getting an offer from UGA.
The IMG Academy pass catcher has received recent scholarship offers from Memphis, Louisville, Arkansas, UCF and more. Gorham attended Timberland High School in St. Stephens, South Carolina, before transferring to IMG Academy.

Even as the Washington Huskies continue to host official visits with prospects in the 2027 class, Jedd Fisch's coaching staff is still looking to build early relationships with recruits in the 2028 cycle, too.
That includes extending an offer to four-star offensive lineman Maxx Jones, a product of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The 6-foot-3, 325-pound prospect, who is originally from Texas, is ranked as the nation's No. 210 overall recruit and No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the 2028 class by 247Sports, and is quickly turning into a priority target for programs around the country.
He holds 30 offers with Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, and Texas Tech all among the schools in pursuit of his services.
On film, Jones is everything you'd expect from a player of his size. He plays with overwhelming physicality, consistently running through defenders to pave holes in the run game, while he's also surprisingly nimble and displays the ability to move laterally to combat quicker interior pass rushers.
As offensive line coach Michael Switzer continues to build up the size and depth along his offensive front, Jones looks like an ideal early target for the Huskies in 2028, while he also fits what Jedd Fisch is looking for as the head coach attempts to widen Washington's recruiting footprint.

Indiana men’s basketball’s ongoing pursuit of a center from the high school recruiting pipeline will stretch into 2028.
Dylan Betts, a center in the class of 2028 and the younger brother of UCLA stars Lauren and Sienna Betts, received an official offer from Indiana this week not too long after the contact period officially began, per his social media.
Betts, who stands at 7’3”, attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and is originally from Englewood, Colorado. His other offers include Michigan, UCLA, Purdue, Illinois, Kansas and Alabama among several. He’s rated as a 5-star by 247Sports, ranking in as the 5th highest-rated center and 10th highest-rated prospect overall in the class of 2028. He’s rated as a 4-star by Rivals, ranking in as the 4th highest-rated center and 9th highest-rated prospect in the class.
He’d give the Hoosiers the kind of center the program has needed for several recruiting cycles, but it’ll be a highly competitive recruitment.

UCLA is about to get another Betts sibling after Lauren Betts and Sienna Betts led the Bruins to their first women’s basketball national **** le. This time, however, it is the men’s team that is going after their younger brother, 7’3 center Dylan Betts, as he officially received a scholarship offer from the school.
This is exciting news for Dylan, who is a five-star center playing for IMG Academy, ranked No. 10 in the nation by 247Sports, as well as the No. 5 center and the No. 3 player in Florida from the Class of 2028. Like his sisters, he was originally from Colorado, but unlike them, he transferred to IMG Academy in Florida to further develop his game.
His eldest sister, Lauren, is a known dominant center, while his other sister, Sienna, a power forward, was the No. 2 prospect from her class and was also central to UCLA’s championship run. With the family’s history being filled with talented bigs, the pressure is on for Dylan Betts to also be a dominant big, should he go to the school.
Also like his sisters, he was part of UCLA basketball and attended the organization’s training camps. In addition, he also participated in the NBPA Top 100 Camp. The UCLA offer came in after that training camp, with many questioning why the Bruins only offered a five-star legacy like him now, given that his sisters won a national **** le with the team.
Even with the history of the Betts sisters playing for UCLA giving the Bruins the advantage, other schools have beentrying to recruit him much earlier, and this could edge out his family’s history with UCLA. He has not yet visited any of them, and the UCLA offer now changes things.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy three-star safety Chuck Roberts has flipped his commitment from North Carolina to Maryland, according to Rivals’ Pete Nakos.
Pledged to the Tar Heels since Dec. 29, the 6-foot, 180-pounder now has his sights set on College Park in a big flip for head coach Mike Locksley and the Terrapins.
Roberts is the No. 580 overall prospect and No. 52 safety in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 49 recruit in California.

After locking in with UNC at the end of last year, Roberts’ recruitment ramped up and he landed myriad new offers. Maryland, however, had been in the mix since October. The Terps have kept their foot on the gas pursuing a flip and Roberts has obliged while on his official visit this weekend.
