Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) is targeting a potentially significant opportunity through its strategic Terafab partnership with companies **** ociated with Elon Musk, including **** eX, Tesla, and xAI. The initiative is part of an ambitious semiconductor manufacturing project focused on producing advanced chips for artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, autonomous vehicles, and other compute-intensive applications.
On September 15, Tigress Financial highlighted the strategic importance of the alliance to Intel's turnaround prospects. The research firm reiterated its Buy rating on Intel and raised its price target to $145 from $118, citing the company's long-term growth opportunity.
The Terafab partnership could provide Intel's foundry business with exposure to customers that have substantial AI and high-performance computing requirements. Securing external customers could help Intel increase manufacturing scale while improving the utilization and economics of its foundry operations.
The partnership could also support Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)'s efforts to improve its semiconductor manufacturing technology. Greater production volumes and engagement with demanding customers could provide opportunities to improve manufacturing economics, yields, and scalability as Intel works to strengthen its competitive position in advanced chip manufacturing.
Beyond manufacturing scale, Terafab could expand Intel's role in the broader AI semiconductor supply chain. The company has historically been heavily **** ociated with CPUs, but growing its foundry business could give it greater exposure to AI accelerators, custom silicon, and other specialized compute applications. A relationship with major AI-focused customers could also help provide greater visibility into future manufacturing demand.

Affirm Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFRM) has underperformed the broader market year to date, but the tide is slowly turning. Robust growth in interest-bearing loans, a strategic partnership with Shopify in Australia, and accelerating volumes at Amazon provide multiple avenues for continued growth.
On September 12, Goldman Sachs raised its price target to $115 from $106, citing improving underlying fundamentals. The hike follows the company's impressive fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 results, with revenues surging 33% to $1.2 billion and operating income rising $89 million to $147 million.
The robust revenue growth came as the company continued to attract more business interest-bearing loans. Interest income rose 35% in the fourth quarter, in line with a 33% increase in average net loans held for investment partners. More importantly, 80% of Affirm's direct-to-consumer product loans carried interest at quarter-end, giving the company an increasingly meaningful source of recurring interest income.
The investment bank has also touted the growth opportunity around Affirm Card, which is helping the company expand its relationship with consumers beyond individual BNPL transactions. Active cardholders more than doubled to 5.2 million, resulting in a 124% increase in Card GMV to $2.8 billion.
Management has already hinted at continued upside momentum by estimating a massive increase in GMV to $64 billion in fiscal 2027 and an adjusted operating margin of 30.5%. Against this backdrop, Wolfe Research ****** yst Darrin Peller upgraded the stock to Outperform with a $90 price target. NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE:NEE) has outlined its growth targets for 2026 and beyond. This comes as the company advances plans to acquire Dominion Energy Inc (NYSE:D). It's a $67 billion all-stock transaction expected to close before the end of next year. If the merger is completed as expected, it would result in the largest US electricity producer.
NextEra's business is already growing, and Dominion is expected to increase the growth rate. The deal's promise is exciting, but its value to investors ultimately depends on NextEra securing regulatory approvals and successfully integrating Dominion ***** ets.
NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE:NEE) has reaffirmed its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance of $3.92 to $4.02 and said it was targeting the high end of that range. NextEra also said it expects adjusted EPS to grow at a compound annual rate of at least 8% through 2032 and is targeting the same growth rate through 2035, off the 2025 base.
NextEra also plans to continue rewarding its shareholders with higher dividends. The company expects its dividend per share to grow at a roughly 10% annual rate through 2026, off the 2024 base. It expects the dividend to grow 6% a year through 2028 from the 2026 base.
The EPS and dividend growth projections give investors a financial foundation for evaluating the Dominion deal. NextEra does not need Dominion simply to prevent a growth slowdown. Instead, it's looking to add another growth engine through the acquisition.

GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) is one of Jim Cramer's favorite stocks. Throughout 2025, the CNBC TV host continued to heap praise on the firm. Cramer's praise came at a time when new-age nuclear power and quantum computing stocks were experiencing strong gains. Throughout this period, he continued to **** ert that GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) was the only nuclear firm with a stable delivery timeline and the capacity to deliver. In his morning appearance on the 15th, Cramer discussed the recent dip in shares and worries about a slowdown in the AI buildout:
"One company, GE Vernova, which was hit incredibly hard, which actually builds these, was saying they're seeing an order acceleration. So I really doubt the idea there's going to be a decel. Now that stock got hammered yesterday, it's been a horrendous stock since we started getting this political controversy. But again I point out that you just hear no one say anything about pullback."
For GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV), as perhaps indicated by the share price movement, the narrative is driven by its backlog and overall exposure to AI's power generation demand. On this front, CEO Scott Strazik, another Cramer favorite, outlined during the firm's second quarter earnings that data center orders of $5 billion for H1 2026 had already doubled over the full year 2025 figures. Additionally, during Q2, the firm's total orders touched $24 billion to mark an 88% growth driven by its Power and Electrification segment. As a whole, GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV)'s Q2 revenue grew by 22% annually, while its overall backlog and electrification backlogs sat at $176 billion and $446 billion.
At the same time, with GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) also relying on gas turbines for its business, the debate is also about whether exposure to AI can remove the inherent cyclicality in the business. Additionally, with data centers accounting for 40% of the Electrification business's orders, any slowdown in capex spending by big tech players could generate tailwinds for GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV). Similarly, while the data center business is booming and the gas generation business remains tied to prices and interest rates, the firm's wind business is a drag and expected to hurt the bottom line throughout 2026.
In Q2, 106 out of the 1,006 funds tracked by Insider Monkey had held a stake in GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV), which marked a dip over the 118 out of 1,022 funds in Q1. Whether the dip was due to the order mix and AI sentiment or due to profit taking, your guess is as good as ours. On the valuation front, GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) trades at a forward P/E ratio of 35, while short interest as a percentage of float is 3.29%.

Credit card companies are racing to claim a place at the checkout when AI agents start shopping on behalf of consumers—even as shoppers remain skeptical of letting bots spend their money.
Mastercard rolled out a payment option Thursday that lets people give an AI agent a virtual card and allow it to buy things online without checking in before each purchase. Cardholders can limit how much it spends, restrict which retailers it buys from, or require approval before checkout.
"This is a land grab for infrastructure standards," Phil Bruno, chief strategy and growth officer at payments company ACI Worldwide, told Fortune. "If they set the standards for agentic commerce, they can keep the commerce in their environments for decades to come."
Rival Visa partnered with Alchemy earlier this year and has also announced its own AI shopping and payment product, Visa Intelligent Commerce, which the company says is still being deployed. Similarly, Meta has Muse, which can search for products and navigate checkout, but presents the purchase for the user's final approval.
It seems, though, that shoppers appear far more interested in using AI to find a deal than letting it pay. Just 7% of U.S. and U.K. consumers surveyed who buy fashion items said they would allow an AI ***** istant to make purchases without approval under predefined conditions, according to research commissioned by ACI Worldwide. More than half said they were uncomfortable allowing AI to purchase on their behalf.

Happy Friday, traders. Welcome to our weekly market wrap, where we take a look back at these last five trading days with a focus on the market news, economic data, and headlines that had the most impact on gold prices and other key correlated ****** ets—and may continue to in the future.
So, what kind of week has it been?
Gold took a more volatile path than expected but rebounded from a post-FOMC low near $4,260/oz to trade just above $4,350/oz shortly after the US market open on Friday, putting the yellow metal in position for a moderate weekly gain.
The Federal Reserve delivered the week's main event on Wednesday, unanimously raising policy rates by 25 basis points. Gold's sharp initial drop appeared tied less to the hike itself than to projections showing elevated inflation expectations and another 25-basis-point increase before the end of 2026.
Thursday brought the countermove as crude oil slid back toward and then below $100 per barrel, US Treasury yields eased, and gold recovered to around $4,360/oz. The Bank of ****** an's overnight rate hike to 1.25% added another tailwind into Friday.

On August 19, Ferrovial (NASDAQ:FER) announced it had been selected to deliver the I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes, a 26-mile project running between Nashville and Murfreesboro. It is the largest single capital investment in Tennessee's history and the state's first public-private partnership. The price tag is $9.2 billion, though Ferrovial isn't carrying it alone, since its DriveTN consortium also counts Transurban and Tikehau Star Infra as partners.
Choice lanes are familiar ground for Ferrovial, which has replicated the model in Washington, D.C., Charlotte and Dallas-Fort Worth. On Virginia's 66 Express corridor, similar lanes shaved up to 50% off peak-hour travel times. That is the pitch for I-24, a stretch of highway that already ranks among the region's most jammed: drivers who opt in get steadier speeds, and those in the free lanes should see less traffic too.
The business behind the bid looks healthy, too. Ferrovial's July 28 results showed adjusted EBITDA up 21.6% on a like-for-like basis to €746 million over the first six months of the year, with U.S. highways doing most of the lifting. Those roads are sending cash home as well, since Ferrovial received €357 million in dividends from North America. And the construction order book reached an all-time high of €18 billion, so plenty of work is already in hand. The pipeline keeps filling: Ferrovial bid on I-285 East in Georgia in July, and its D35 Highway bid in the Czech Republic was the most cost-effective submitted, with technical evaluation still underway.
Beyond the roads, the balance sheet looks sturdy. Ferrovial ended the first half with €1.3 billion in net cash, excluding infrastructure projects, meaning cash outweighs debt outside those projects. The airport arm is progressing too: Ferrovial has finished funding the $1.1 billion in equity it pledged for New Terminal One at JFK, and construction there is 92% complete.
Start with the line that looks worst on the page. Net profit for the first half of 2026 came in at €258 million, versus €540 million for the same period of 2025. That earlier figure included capital gains from ******* et rotation, which makes the comparison harsh, but the mismatch is still there: EBITDA climbed while reported profit fell.

Without a signed, prospective contract, Medicaid treats family caregiver payments as gifts, exposing $60,000 in payments to a six-month nursing home ineligibility penalty.
A defensible care agreement must be signed before services begin, specify duties and market-rate pay, and be backed by time sheets and traceable payments.
At 20 documented hours per week, $2,500 monthly works out to roughly $29 per hour, defensible against the 2025 national median caregiver rate of $35.

Margin debt hit $1.45 trillion in August, up 140% since 2022 and outpacing the S&P 500's 98% gain, which leaves the market carrying far more forced-selling risk.
At roughly 4.5% of GDP, margin debt now exceeds the dot-com bubble's peak, meaning a routine correction could cascade into broker-forced liquidations across the market.
The real danger isn't high leverage itself but the simultaneous forced selling that erupts when overleveraged investors all need cash at once.
Just released. Our ***** ysts combed the entire stock market and named the ten best stocks to buy right now. The report is free. Enter your email and see if any of your stocks made the cut.
The longer-term comparison is even more striking. Since the end of 2022 -- and the start of the current AI-dominated era -- investor borrowing has increased by $847 billion, or 140%, versus a 98% gain for the S&P 500 over the same period. That means leverage has grown faster than the market value investors have accumulated, presumably as they took on debt to buy into the AI boom.

For the recently reported second quarter, PicS N.V. (NASDAQ:PICS) outperformed relative to its previous guidance across all profitability metrics. The total account base for the company went up to 70.4 million during the second quarter, showcasing a 10% jump from the prior year. Moving on to the bottom line figures, the adjusted earnings before tax, without factoring in costs ****** ociated with stock-based compensation came in at R$291 million for the quarter. This represented a 2.1% outperformance relative to the company's R$285 million guidance. Similarly, compared to the R$245 million projection, adjusted net income for the period actually stood 15.5% higher at R$283 million.
welcomia/Shutterstock.com
The second quarter concluded with strong financial and operating momentum for PicS. The company recorded a 9% annual and 2% sequential growth in its client base, which went up to 45.4 million active users. The total credit portfolio jumped to R$31.9 billion, exceeding management's guidance by 3%. This outperformance came due to a higher number of mature credit card cohorts, and accelerated origination within secured and partly secured categories. An additional factor that accounted for the credit portfolio growth was management's measured expansion into higher risk areas such as newer platform credit and private payroll lending.
Managerial revenue rose to R$3,730 million, topping guidance by 3.6%, and net interest income reached R$2,002 million, 5.4% above projections, boosted by growing credit income. Total cash in totaled R$136.4 billion, up 17% from a year earlier and 9% from the previous quarter, with customers bringing in an average of approximately R$45.4 billion to the platform each month. Total deposits climbed to R$35.8 billion, a 45% yearly jump and 10% quarterly rise.
Some concerns related to the company's loan portfolio emerged during the quarter. Non-performing loans more than 90 days overdue increased to 9.8% of the credit portfolio during the quarter, up 93 basis points sequentially. Stage 3 exposure, which includes a broader set of credit-impaired loans, reached 12.9% of the total credit portfolio.

My husband, 59, and I, 55, are planning to retire over the next few years, and this is one of the biggest unknowns I'm struggling with. My mom had Alzheimer's disease and spent seven years in a really nice memory-care facility in a smaller town. It cost about $7,000 a month. Thankfully, my parents had purchased long-term-care insurance and had paid premiums for about 12 years.
My dad died shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, so his policy was never used. But my mom's policy ended up being worth its weight in gold. It essentially covered all of her care. By the time my mother died, the insurance company had paid out almost $600,000. We only paid about $100 a month for some extras. Needless to say, that experience has made me think.
The 10-year Treasury is having its worst run in over 100 years. Why investors are buying bonds anyway.
'I'm burned out': I'm constantly helping my cousin who is running out of money. Is it too much to expect his sister to help?
I've looked into long-term-care insurance, but the premiums are so incredibly expensive, and I worry about what they'll cost by the time it makes sense for me to seriously consider a policy. We're fortunate financially. After 35 years in the corporate grind, we'll have substantial retirement savings; we've always saved carefully; and we have no debt or mortgage.

WASHINGTON, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Democrats are seeking to reclaim Congress, but lingering divisions from a bruising run-up to the November election threaten to imperil the party's attempt to claw back power from President Donald Trump's Republicans.
With control of both chambers at stake, Democrats have sought to move past the bad blood of the primaries, but in several competitive states, influential party figures have withheld endorsements or so far declined to campaign with nominees for the November 3 US midterm elections.
In ‌Maine, the governor has yet to endorse the Democratic US Senate candidate. In Texas, a congresswoman has declined to campaign alongside the state representative who defeated her in the Democratic Senate primary. In Michigan, establishment centrists are steering clear of the party's progressive Senate ‌pick. In New York, victorious democratic socialists are criticizing congressional Democrats for joining Republicans in condemning socialism. In Florida, the party has yet to rally behind its Senate nominee.
"Whether you are a progressive or an establishment Democrat or a conservative Democrat, we all have a vested interest in getting every single person over the finish line in November," said US Representative Summer Lee, a progressive Pennsylvania Democrat up for reelection.

On September 15, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE:AJG) announced that it had bought McMillan Insurance & Bonding Inc., an Englewood, Colorado, firm that operates as Innovise Business Consultants. Gallagher did not say what it paid. On its own, the deal is a footnote. But it is one of many, and the way those deals show up in earnings is where the debate over this stock really lives.
On July 30, Gallagher reported results for the quarter ended June 30, and the top line was hard to argue with. Revenue from its combined Brokerage and Risk Management businesses grew 24%, and organic growth, which leaves out acquisitions, was 6%. That second number shows clients are staying and spending. It was not confined to one corner, either, since organic fees in the risk management arm rose 12%. Management adds that retention is strong and customers want broader help from the platform. Adjusted earnings per share climbed to $2.84 from $2.30, which means growth is reaching profit once one-time acquisition costs are set aside.
Innovise fits the pattern. It sells surety bonds and commercial insurance brokerage with a focus on manufacturing, energy, construction and real estate, and Chairman and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. said that niche expertise adds depth in Colorado. Jason McMillan's team will move into Gallagher's Denver office and work under Bret VanderVoort, who oversees retail property/casualty brokerage for the Western Zone. Buying specialists and folding them into existing offices is a repeatable playbook, and Gallagher closed 14 brokerage acquisitions in the first six months of 2026.
Now look at reported earnings, because that is where you see the cost. Diluted earnings per share fell to $1.25, from $1.40 in the second quarter of 2025, even though revenue jumped. Much of the gap between reported and adjusted results is the price of buying growth. Amortization of acquired intangibles alone weighs on brokerage net earnings by $218 million, up from $130 million a year ago, and integration costs rose as well. Adjusted figures set those aside, but they are real expenses, and they keep landing as long as Gallagher keeps buying.
Margins tell a similar story. The brokerage segment's adjusted EBITDAC margin, a stand-in for operating profit, slipped to 33.3% from 36.1%. Gallagher points to last year's interest income on cash raised for the ***** uredPartners deal, which closed in the third quarter of 2025, plus seasonality and newly added tuck-ins. That is a fair explanation. But the debt behind the deal is still here, including $9.55 billion of public debt, plus more in private placements and on a credit line. And the deal flow is thinner: brokerage acquisitions closed in the first six months of 2026 carried $107 million of annualized revenue, versus $354 million a year earlier, which puts more weight on organic growth.

Exchange-related pressure is weighing on HCA's 2026 outlook: The expiration of enhanced tax credits is pushing some patients into uninsured status, with estimated full-year impact of $1 billion to $1.2 billion and slower elective-care utilization.
State supplemental payments and underlying demand provide offsets: HCA expects a $300 million to $500 million net benefit from state programs, while insured business excluding exchange plans grew 3.2% and adjusted admissions increased 2.7% in the second quarter.
HCA is pursuing long-term growth through capacity and efficiency investments: The company is expanding outpatient facilities, improving patient throughput and cost management, and maintaining a target of 4% to 6% long-term revenue growth with stable margins.

On August 6, APA Corporation (NASDAQ:APA) held its second-quarter earnings call, and one number stood out from the rest. The oil and gas producer is now holding its Permian oil production steady with four drilling rigs, half the eight it once estimated it would need. Adjusted production of 347,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day beat management's own guidance, free cash flow kept climbing, and the balance sheet is healing faster than planned. That combination is the story of the quarter.
APA raised its full-year US oil guidance to 123,000 barrels per day, up from an original 120,000, while holding its capital budget at $1.3 billion despite higher diesel and other input costs. Management also lifted its cost-savings target to $500 million in annualized run-rate savings by year-end, up from the $450 million goal it set at the start of the year.
That flexibility is showing up in cash flow. Free cash flow hit $738 million in the second quarter, pushing the first half of 2026 past $1.2 billion, which topped what APA generated in each of the past three full years. The company returned $189 million of that to shareholders through dividends and the repurchase of 2.8 million shares at an average price of $35.26, continuing a streak of returning at least 60% of free cash flow to investors every year since 2021.
The balance sheet is moving just as fast. Net debt stood at $3.3 billion at quarter-end after APA repaid $752 million of bonds in the first half, including $673 million in the second quarter alone, cutting total debt by $2.3 billion since the end of 2024 and lowering annualized interest expense by roughly $175 million. Management now expects to hit its $3 billion net debt target in 2027, well ahead of the three- to four-year window it laid out when the goal was first announced.
Further out, APA is building option value beyond its core Permian and Egypt ****** ets. It agreed to acquire Savant Alaska for $70 million, picking up an airstrip, a dock, and a pipeline connection into the Trans Alaska system to support two exploration wells planned for 2027. In Uruguay, ENI signed on as a partner in Block 6, funding a significant share of the first exploration well while APA keeps 60% ownership. In Suriname, the GranMorgu project remains on budget for first oil in mid-2028.

On September 4, RTX Corporation (NYSE:RTX) announced that its Pratt & Whitney business was investing $25 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland.
The site produces complex tubular ****** emblies for both military and commercial engines. The expanded facility will begin operations in 2028 and create over 120 jobs.

The capacity expansion reflects the company's confidence in sustained demand for both commercial and military engine production over the coming years, which is supported by a record backlog of $289 billion at the end of Q2, increasing 22% year-over-year.
This further strengthens RTX Corporation (NYSE:RTX)'s manufacturing footprint in Europe, especially in Poland – which is already the company's largest presence outside the U.S. with more than 9,500 employees. The expansion will enhance its regional supply chain capabilities.

An equal $100,000 split across SGOV, JAAA, and CLOZ generates roughly $465 monthly at a blended 5.6% yield, no dividend stocks required.
CLOZ's 7.35% trailing yield on BBB-B rated CLO tranches drives $204 of the monthly income but carries the portfolio's highest credit risk.
Floating-rate CLO coupons in JAAA and CLOZ keep effective duration near zero, shielding principal from long-term rate swings while outpaying Treasury bills.

Income investors do not have to own dividend stocks to generate a meaningful monthly check. An equal $100,000 split across the iShares 0-3 Month Treasury Bond ETF (NYSEARCA:SGOV), Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (NYSEARCA: JAAA), and Eldridge BBB-B CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:CLOZ) currently produces roughly $465 a month based on trailing distribution yields. The portfolio gets there without owning a single dividend stock and with very little traditional interest-rate exposure. Instead, SGOV owns Treasury bills, while JAAA and CLOZ invest in floating-rate collateralized loan obligations. That combination gives income investors three different steps up the risk ladder without requiring a move into equities.

Most crypto wallets have functioned as a home for buying and selling speculative tokens. Caroline D. Pham, CEO of MoonPay Institutional and former acting chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), thinks they are about to do something far more important for most investors.
"I do think that wallets are going to become the future, where you're going to have almost everything in your wallet," Pham said. "It's going to be your checking account, your savings account, your stablecoin wallet, your tokenized fund wallet. It's going to be your brokerage account."

WisdomTree said it is building an access point for its tokenized funds on MoonPay's technology, which reaches more than 35 million users. MoonPay also plans to use the fund in its stablecoin reserves.
