Several flights across Europe have faced bomb threats, officials have said.
An Aer Lingus Airbus A320 plane which departed Dublin on Thursday morning issued an emergency alert, diverted and landed at Evreux air base in northern France.
Meanwhile, Finnish airline Finnair said there was a bomb threat against one of its planes travelling from Helsinki to the Italian capital on Thursday. It was escorted by air force jets and landed as scheduled.
It comes just days after eight European flights, including two departing from the UK, were targeted by suspected bomb threats. No explosives were found on any of the planes after searches.
A statement from Aer Lingus confirmed that flight EI402 from Dublin to Rome "diverted to Normandy this morning as a security precaution."

Bob Dylan has visited Pope Leo XIV in Rome.
The American singer-songwriter and poet visited with the pontiff at the Vatican during a break between concert dates in Italy.
A Vatican spokesperson shared that the encounter was a brief one, with Pope Leo giving Dylan a rosary, and Dylan presenting the pope with a copy of his autobiography, Chronicles: Volume One.
The Pope had previously quoted a1963 unpublished protest song of Dylan's in his own 2026 book, Disarmed and Disarming: Peace Is a Gift.
"I hate you cause yer man-made and man-owned, an' man-handled," he echoed about the recourse to nuclear weapons.
Dylan, who won the ****** el Prize for Literature in 2016, played for Pope John Paul II in 1997 during a concert at a religious congress in Bologna, Italy.

Darien celebrated three state championships in girls sports last school year: field hockey, girls ice hockey and girls lacrosse.
Adriana Gromelski was an integral part of all three as she earned GametimeCT All-State First Team honors in each sport and was named GametimeCT Female Athlete of the Year.
In all, Gromelski has been part of six state **** les during her time with the Blue Wave.
"Only one team can win it. It's a moment not everyone gets to have," Gromelski said. "I'm super grateful I've gotten to experience it multiple times."
With that in mind, the senior star decided to switch sports this fall for a new high school experience. Instead of helping Darien defend its CIAC field hockey crown, Gromelski switched to soccer. It's a sport she played from elementary school through eighth grade.

I'm living proof of the saying that "kids keep you young." My wife and I don't need social media. We've got multiple social barometers living in our house. But my usual reaction to every new trend or slang that enters their lexicon ("cooked" and "tuff" have been the new favorites) is skepticism. Before I try to figure out how much attention I need to put into what has them hyped, I try to figure out how serious they are about their enthusiasm.
Sunday's fantasy football action left me in a similar spot. We didn't get many massive box score performances from our stars. Instead, Week 6 was about our mid- and late-round picks or waiver-wire acquisitions. And with some giving us repeat results, the storylines coming out of Sunday should have us adjusting how we approach fantasy free agency on Tuesday.
Both Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Stroud were hooping all morning. They were the perfect pivot from whatever we had to watch on TNF. But as I was watching the Texans offense, a couple of things stood out.

First, Stroud's command of the offense was at an all-time high. Jacksonville came into the game with the 12th-highest pressure rate. Houston had a twofold response. It used an extra lineman on 35.6% of its plays (a season-high), and Stroud was getting rid of the football in 2.31 seconds (a season-low). The result was not only his lowest pressure rate (8.6%) but also his highest EPA per dropback (0.35). More importantly, the Jaguars' defensive measures, which included blitzing Stroud on 31.4% of his dropbacks, didn't stop him from throwing the ball.

Haskins, who was best known for playing Principal Belding on the hit NBC sitcom, died at the age of 75. The newly revealed details now provide insight into the health condition that led to his death.
Dennis Haskins' death certificate has revealed new details about the health issues that he faced before his death. The document confirms that Parkinson's disease was the immediate cause of death for the actor.
The certificate, obtained by TMZ from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, states that Haskins died on September 27, 2026, at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. It also mentions several other conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome, depression, hypertension, and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Haskins had kept his Parkinson's diagnosis largely out of the public eye. His ex-wife, Sarah Quinones, previously said that he went to considerable lengths to keep his illness private, including cutting off communication with people who were close to him. According to Quinones, Haskins stopped returning her calls and messages, as well as those from other confidants who tried to reach him.
Haskins reportedly spent the latter part of his life in an **** isted-living facility. His friend and caretaker Kimberly Snow said he had been dealing with Parkinson's for eight years and had remained in **** isted care since receiving the diagnosis. Previously, Haskins agent Jay Schacher said, "It's a tragic loss. He was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans. He always had time for them, no matter what."

The creator of The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men called Trump a "bloated orange piece of s--- in the White House" during Project Angel Food's Sept. 26 Angel Awards, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Umberto Pizzi, who has died aged 88, was a paparazzo who documented Italy's Dolce Vita era, specialising in candid shots of the actors, television personalities, politicians and ***** orted hangers-on who made up the emerging class of nouveau riche.
Pizzi himself spurned the term "paparazzi", which he thought conveyed an attitude of hostility towards photojournalists. He preferred to think of his role as a kind of modern-day Petronius, documenting the spectacles and excesses of the era through its best-known personalities. He photographed stars of Italian cinema such as Marcello Mastroianni and Vittorio Gassman, as well as Hollywood golden couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
In the 1970s and 1980s he ventured into the realms of Italian culture, politics and the global aristocracy. He photographed John Paul Getty III during his time in Rome and trod on bullets on his way to the scene where the former prime minister Aldo Moro was kidnapped in 1978. His archive, comprising around two million images, spanned two republics and more than 60 years of history, from economic boom to the season of protest, through to the modern era of mass communication.

Chuck Lorre ignited a feud with White House after a charity gala speech put Donald Trump on notice.
Lorre lamented that while he'd love to champion a "compassionate government," he instead feels compelled to "say a few words about that bloated orange piece of s--- in the White House."
A spokesperson for the White House responded, encouraging Lorre to "immediately seek psychiatric help to treat his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome."

The creator of such modern classics as The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men took no prisoners in his acceptance speech after winning the Founders Award at a Project Angel Food fundraiser in Los Angeles on Sept. 26. "Sure, I'd love to stand here and talk about my deep yearning for a more compassionate government, one that prioritizes the health and welfare of its citizens," he lamented. "But the burden of my profession demands that I take this opportunity to say a few words about that bloated orange piece of s--- in the White House" (per The Daily Beast).

Despite being just miles apart in Paris, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz showed no sign of reuniting with the Beckham family as they stepped out for a date night after missing fashion designer Victoria's latest PFW show.
The couple were noticeably absent from the fashion designer's runway show on Friday, even though they were in the French capital at the same time as David, Harper, Romeo and Cruz, who turned out to support Victoria.
David Beckham was joined by daughter Harper and sons Romeo and Cruz – as well as the boys' girlfriends – on the front row at the Conciergerie on Boulevard du Palais, while Brooklyn and Nicola were spotted close to the Louvre.
Brooklyn, 27, and his wife, 31, showed no sign of meeting up with them during their time in Paris.
Instead, the couple enjoyed a romantic date night of their own, putting on a loved-up display as they held hands while making their way to L'Avenue restaurant.

Victoria Beckham celebrated her latest Paris Fashion Week show by thanking the family members and friends who joined her for the night.
David Beckham sat in the audience with Romeo, Cruz and Harper as Victoria presented her Spring/Summer 2027 collection at the Conciergerie on Oct. 2. Romeo's girlfriend Kim Turnbull and Cruz's girlfriend Jackie Apostel were also part of the family gathering.
After the show, Victoria shared a group photograph and wrote, "To my friends and family, I feel so blessed to have you all by my side ******* ." Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, were not in the picture or at the runway presentation despite being in Paris for Fashion Week.
The show came during an important period for Victoria's fashion business, which recently reached profitability for the first time since the brand was founded in 2008.
David shared his own message after the show, praising Victoria's work and telling her the family felt lucky to be part of the evening.

Black may be one of the safest colors in formal fashion, but the 2026 Venice Film Festival showed how unpredictable it can become in the right hands. Across premieres and ceremonies, stars embraced lace, velvet, satin, sculptural tailoring and elaborate draping. Instead of relying on color to create impact, designers used texture and silhouette to give each outfit a distinctive personality. Laura Dern, Susan Sarandon, Amal Clooney, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rooney Mara all approached the classic shade differently. Together, their appearances demonstrated why black continues to have such staying power on major red carpets.
Laura Dern embraced intricate detailing for the premiere of Wild Horse Nine. Her sleeveless black Dior gown featured a V neckline, delicate lace and floral embroidery across the upper section. The design transitioned into a fuller shimmering skirt, giving the monochrome look depth through contrasting textures. Black Dior pumps maintained the restrained palette, while a Cartier necklace provided a polished finishing touch.
Susan Sarandon chose a more streamlined interpretation at the premiere of The Echo Chamber. Her black Fendi dress featured long sleeves and an off the shoulder neckline, with a fluid silhouette that followed the body without requiring elaborate embellishment. Statement jewelry, sunglasses and bright red lipstick added personality, demonstrating how accessories can completely change the mood of an otherwise minimalist black dress.
For the festival's opening ceremony, Amal Clooney turned to Tom Ford. Her floor length column gown used rippled fabric panels and subtle leather detailing to create movement and texture. Pointed pumps and a coordinating clutch continued the sleek approach. The result demonstrated how carefully constructed fabric can make a single color visually interesting without overwhelming the overall silhouette.
Maggie Gyllenhaal brought archival fashion into the conversation with an Armani Privé velvet gown originally created in 2015. The design combined sharply defined shoulders, long sleeves and a plunging embellished neckline. Its return more than a decade later also highlighted the growing red carpet practice of revisiting existing fashion rather than treating older couture as something that belongs permanently in an archive.

Stars, patrons and fashionistas descended upon Lincoln Center Thursday night for the annual New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala. Now in its 14th year, the gala has become one of the fall social calendar's most anticipated events, not only for a night of dance but for the couture costumes as well.

Craft stores are generally reserved for browsing yarn aisles on quiet Sunday afternoons and overspending on seasonal holiday decor. But every so often, retail chaos infiltrates their quiet corners in the face of a shoplifter or a drunkard. Or maybe, both.
In a TikTok storytime, creator Madi Max (soft.cuddlebunny) looked back on her days working retail at Joann Fabrics. She specifically recounted an incident of an intoxicated shoplifter trying to play Romeo and criminal mastermind at the same time. The result? The local craft hub turned into an accidental slapstick comedy routine.
The hilarious routine started as an unhinged flirtation attempt. But it ended with dozens of stolen markers across the linoleum floor and the furious perp screaming from the back of a police cruiser.
According to Max, the incident kicked off when a man stumbled through the automatic sliding doors carrying an open, uncovered liquor bottle. He was allegedly actively taking swigs as he roamed the aisles. But rather than laying low, he allegedly zeroed in on Max's coworker.
The man was reportedly nursing an unprompted, aggressive crush and loudly peppering the coworker with wildly inappropriate remarks. At one point, he allegedly started pointing at rolls of material, declaring that she would look stunning in lingerie made out of the textiles.
