Zuckerberg's net worth dropped $25B to $209B as Meta's AI ambitions drove net income down 14% and nearly eliminated free cash flow.
META commits $130-145B in 2026 capex chasing AI leaders it trails, with much of that spending cycling back to NVDA for chip purchases.
Don't wait: the ***** yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just revealed his top 10 AI stocks. See the full list FREE now.
As Mark Zuckerberg keeps steering Meta (NASDAQ: META) in the wrong direction, his net worth keeps falling. It is down $25 billion this year and is still dropping, to $209 billion. That puts him barely ahead of Michael Dell, who is at $204 billion.
Zuckerberg can blame the entire drop on his decision to march Meta into AI competition with companies that include OpenAI, Anthropic, and Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG), which are well ahead. Based on all evidence, Meta won't catch up. Its earnings made it clear he continues to double down on AI anyway. That showed up in earnings.

LONDON, July 29 (Reuters) - Apple said on Wednesday that proposed UK rules governing its App Store would amount to price regulation, arguing that plans to loosen ‌its control over in-app payments could undermine innovation and investment.
In a submission to Britain's ‌Competition and Markets Authority, the iPhone maker said proposed "steering" requirements would go beyond promoting competition and give the regulator a "highly intrusive" role in managing its business.
The CMA's consultation, which closed on Monday, is part of its efforts to boost competition and consumer choice. Its proposed measures would allow app developers to direct users to payment options outside Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store and require any fees charged for such ‌steering to be fair and reasonable.
A CMA spokesperson rejected Apple's characterisation of the proposals as price regulation.

"I mean, I'd like to hear him say he's sorry," Paul said. "Can he say he is sorry for funding — the research was dangerous research in China? Almost everybody agrees with that."

Tesla kicked off earnings season — at least for this sector — and the shareholder letter, along with Elon Musk's remarks during the conference call, provided some pretty incredible disclosures I imagine have some investors concerned, or at least puzzled.
Tesla has backed off previous promises to reach "volume production" of the Cybercab, Tesla Semi, and Megapack 3 in 2026. And while the company has publicly touted expansions of its Tesla Robotaxi service into new cities in Florida and Texas, the quarter-over-quarter data shows a drop in paid robotaxi miles.
Senior reporter Sean O'Kane took a closer look at a graph shared in Tesla's shareholder letter. At a passing glance, the chart appears to show steady growth in paid robotaxi rides between August 2025 and June 2026, O'Kane notes. But the numbers displayed are **** ulative, and when broken down by quarter, they show that Tesla's Robotaxi fleet of Model Y SUVs carrying paying passengers covered around 1.1 million miles in the first quarter. That fell to roughly 700,000 miles in the second quarter, a decline of about 36%.
Musk also disclosed during the call that Tesla needs to accumulate driving data specific to the Cybercab before it can put large numbers of the vehicles on the road. That isn't terribly surprising; the Cybercab is new, after all. But the reason got my attention. He explained that Tesla has to accumulate miles using Cybercabs retrofitted with steering wheels and accelerator and braking pedals so it can calibrate to the Cybercab chassis.

Call it a B-spec, call it a heavily revised AMR26, call it whatever you want – what Aston Martin rolled out at the Hungaroring for the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix is, by any reasonable engineering standard, a new Formula 1 car. Sixteen separate components were declared upgraded, mechanics broke FIA curfew to get both cars fitted in time, and the team reportedly flew spare parts to Budapest just to guarantee Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll could each run the full package. That is not a development update. That is a rebuild.
The backstory is by now well-documented and not particularly flattering. Adrian Newey didn't get serious work underway on the AMR26 until mid-March 2025, and the wind tunnel didn't see a model until mid-April – three months behind rivals who were already deep into the new regulatory cycle. The car that arrived at pre-season testing in Barcelona was overweight, paddock insiders estimated by somewhere between 10 and 15 kilograms, maybe more, and the Honda power unit was generating vibrations severe enough to rattle onboard cameras loose and leave Alonso and Stroll visibly fighting the steering wheel.
At the Australian opener, Alonso qualified 2.462 seconds off the pace. Both cars retired when the vibrations damaged the battery systems. It went largely sideways from there – one point across the opening ten rounds, tenth of eleven teams in the constructors' standings, behind only the expansion Cadillac outfit.
The nose is the clearest sign of how deep the changes go. Where the original AMR26 carried a wide, blunt front structure, the Hungary version features a noticeably thinner, more tapered profile – the kind of slender nose Newey has favoured since his early Red Bull years. That change alone cascades through the entire front end: new uprights, revised aerodynamic ducting, changed actuator mounting, and a completely reworked front wing with reshaped endplates. Per Newey, the forward section of the chassis was lightened to the point that it required a full re-homologation and fresh crash testing – which, depending on your definition, crosses the threshold from upgrade to new car.
Newey himself occupies both sides of that argument simultaneously. "The main structural elements remain the same – the chassis and gearbox architecture don't fundamentally change – but we've taken weight out of both, which required re-homologating and crash testing the forward chassis," he said. So: same architecture, new crash test. Make of that what you will.

INDIANAPOLIS — Five-time Brickyard 400 winner Jeff Gordon has returned to one of the most important places in his racing life — this time as the centerpiece of history.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum has opened "Jeff Gordon," its newest rotating exhibition, marking the first time the museum has dedicated an entire exhibit to a single NASCAR driver. The exhibit traces Gordon's journey from quarter midgets and sprint cars to becoming a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and the winningest driver in Brickyard 400 history.
"It's more than a dream come true," Gordon said. "You just hope as a young kid who becomes a race car driver that you get to do it professionally, that you can have success doing it professionally, and do it as long as possible and stay healthy doing it. I got to do that and a whole lot more."
Open through February, the exhibit features 13 race cars spanning every stage of Gordon's career, more than 70 helmets and never-before-displayed artifacts, including his first bicycle racing trophy, the first Jeff Gordon T-shirt, the firesuit from his first sprint car victory and the Williams Formula One steering wheel he used during his 2003 seat swap with Juan Pablo Montoya at IMS.
"I look at this room and walk through the timeline, and that's what comes back is just all the dreams and the hard work and everything paying off," Gordon said.

World Cup drama reached new heights as England and Argentina booked their places in the semi-finals, though not without controversy.
The latest flashpoints only added to the growing debate over refereeing decisions that has followed this tournament from the outset, and there's no time to catch your breath.
England clinched a dramatic 2-1 extra-time win over Norway in the quarter-final, coming from behind to set up a heavyweight semi-final tie against reigning champions Argentina.
Jude Bellingham was the architect of England's comeback. After scoring a brilliant equaliser on the stroke of half-time, the Real Madrid midfielder pounced on Orjan Nyland's error to send the Vikings home.
Despite steering the Three Lions within distance of their first World Cup triumph since 1966, Thomas Tuchel was not happy with his side's performance at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.

David Coulthard believes that George Russell will leave the British Grand Prix feeling like he "got away with it", as his Mercedes team-mate Kimi Antonelli continues to extract a level of performance that the Briton is currently struggling to match.
Russell secured his first-ever podium finish at his home grand prix at Silverstone on Sunday. But the milestone result did not truly represent where the 28-year-old is pace-wise in comparison to his team-mate.
Antonelli, who currently holds a 25-point lead in the drivers' championship, was charging through the field on a 10-lap tyre offset strategy. The Italian was reeling in the leaders, lapping up to 2.5 seconds quicker than eventual race winner Charles Leclerc, before he ran into issues with the Mercedes.
A bizarre mechanical failure, in which a detached front-right wheel shield prevented him from steering, left Antonelli struggling to keep the car on track. He continued in the race but finished 15th after a track limits penalty.
Speaking on the Up To Speed podcast, Coulthard suggested that Russell is aware of his current performance deficit to his teenage team-mate.

At least 32 people were killed and 16 others injured after an overcrowded passenger bus plunged into a ravine in south-western Pakistan.
The bus was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar, when it crashed in the Dana Sar mountain range, on the border between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, at about 08:00 local time (03:00 GMT) on Friday.
A government official at Zhob Hospital told BBC News that a total of 48 people, including a number of women and children, had been on board when the accident happened.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest a steering fault may have led the driver to lose control before skidding off the mountain range.
Photographs from the scene showed the badly damaged bus following its plunge to the bottom of the ravine.

LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - Britain's competition regulator on Tuesday proposed allowing app developers to steer users to alternative payment options outside Apple and Alphabet's Google app stores to cut fees and boost competition.
The Competition ‌and Markets Authority said the proposals would remove restrictions that currently prevent UK developers from directing users to off-platform ‌payment options, which are banned by Apple and restricted by Google.
The watchdog said any fees charged by two of the world's largest technology companies for allowing such "steering" would need to be fair and reasonable, and should be lower than current app store commissions, with savings passed on to consumers or reinvested in innovation.
"While it is only fair for Apple and Google to be compensated for the services they provide, any fees they charge must be justified through a robust, evidence-led framework involving due reference to both cost and value," Will Hayter, executive director for ‌digital markets, is expected to say later on Tuesday, according to an excerpt of his speech.

For the second time this year, Shane van Gisbergen is back in Victory Lane as a NASCAR Cup Series race winner. SVG now joins Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, and Chase Elliott as the only drivers to win multiple races this year.
Sunday's win was also the eighth of his career, which ties him with Tony Stewart for second on the all-time road course wins list.
Chase Briscoe finished second, just 0.357s back of Van Gisbergen. Pole-sitter Ty Gibbs won both Stage 1 and Stage 2, before going on to finish third.
SVG's rookie Trackhouse teammate Connor Zilisch earned his career-best finish, placing seventh.
All 36 started finished the race, with Tyler Reddick finishing last, four laps down after a power steering issue. The result cost him the championship lead, now one point back of Denny Hamlin.

George Russell picked up his second win of the season and second career win at the Red Bull Ring as he earned victory at the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Russell's win meant he bridged the gap to team-mate and championship leader Kimi Antonelli to 40 points.

Lewis Hamilton, race winner in Barcelona two weeks prior, had a disappointing display in his Ferrari, steering it to a fifth-placed finish despite the team bringing an upgraded car to Austria.
Here are my ratings for how the drivers performed across the whole weekend in Spielberg.

The Knicks finally broke a 53-year ****** le drought last season, and the buzz around the team hasn’t slowed down one bit since. As they head into the 2026 offseason, they’re in a spot most franchises only dream about.
The NBA’s salary cap system is designed to stop teams from simply buying their way to dominance by adding superstar after superstar. New York has no intention of going over that line for now, even if it limits what they can do.
Dolan’s recent comments about steering clear of the second apron got the league talking. On its face it sounds strange. Why wouldn’t a defending champ just spend whatever it takes to keep the band together?
The answer is buried in the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement. The second apron is way more than another luxury tax line. It’s basically a roster-building penalty box.
Teams that cross it lose a ton of flexibility in free agency and trades, with restrictions on combining salaries, limits on how they can add players, and long-term hits to their future draft picks. So this was never really about writing bigger checks. It’s about handcuffing yourself for years, and Dolan doesn’t seem willing to do that.

June 19 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday that a week should be enough for Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to remove equipment from his country used by Russia in its attacks on Ukraine, adding a threat of Ukrainian action if ‌Lukashenko did not do so.
Zelenskiy said signal relay stations were located in two Belarusian regions bordering Ukraine that were used by Russian ‌forces to help with steering during attacks on Ukrainian civilians. Reuters could not verify his claims independently.
"What's the point of saying he (Lukashenko) doesn't want to be in the war? Let him remove this equipment, let him switch it off. I think a week will be enough for him to do that," Zelenskiy told a news conference in Kyiv.
"If he doesn't do it, we'll do it," he said, without elaborating.
Zelenskiy also alluded to Belarus's oil refining industry, saying it had become a major supplier for Moscow and that Lukashenko could put a stop to it.

NEW YORK (AP) — When ******* eX makes its debut on the U.S. stock market, it wants smaller-pocketed, mom-and-pop investors to play a big role in what may be the biggest IPO ever.

June 6 (UPI) -- Paralyzing tension stuffed T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, as the Vegas Golden Knights weathered a chaotic comeback and beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-4 in double overtime in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The typically stingy Hurricanes held the Golden Knights to just two shots in a scoreless first period at T-Mobile Arena. Forward Mitch Marner then scored the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Final history in the second, steering the home team in firm control. But the visitors surged for four fourth-period scores to force overtime.
A lucky bounce for the Golden Knights ended Game 3, as a Shea Theodore shot ricocheted off a wall and net minder Brandon Bussi's pad and landed in the goal for the game-winner in the second bonus period.
"We just let our foot off the gas," Theodore said on the ABC broadcast. "I think we have to be sharper in the third, but I like the resiliency of the group."
With the win, the Golden Knights took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven game series. They will host Game 4 on Tuesday at home.

New York Giants legend Eli Manning was adept when it came to steering clear of controversy on and off the field. He always took the high road, never said a word out of line, and rarely let the public know his feelings or proclivities about personal subjects such as religion and politics.
That can't be said for the current Giants quarterback, Jaxson Dart, who recently created a tempest in a teacup by introducing President Donald Trump at a political rally in Rockland County. Some of Dart's teammates, fans, and the media took umbrage at Dart's decision to do that.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced India's men's cricket squad for the 2026 Asian Games in ****** an, with Shreyas Iyer set to lead the side and teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earning a maiden call-up to the senior national T20 setup.

The squad marks the beginning of a new chapter in India's white-ball plans, with Iyer replacing Suryakumar Yadav as captain. The decision continues the selectors' recent push towards building a wider leadership pool ahead of ICC T20 World Cup 2028.

The biggest talking point, however, is the inclusion of 15-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The Rajasthan Royals star has enjoyed a meteoric rise following a record-breaking IPL 2026 season and had been widely tipped for a national call-up.
Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma (Vice-Captain), Nitish ****** ar Reddy, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Jasprit ****** rah.
— BCCI (BCCI)
Iyer was picked for the home T20I series against New Zealand ahead of the T20 World Cup as a replacement for injured Tilak Varma, but didn’t get a chance to play. At 31, Iyer returns to the T20I fold not only as a batter but as India’s 15th captain in the shortest format, entrusted with steering the side into the next phase of its dominating journey.

It is also the second successive instance of an Indian captain being replaced soon after lifting an ICC trophy. In 2025, Rohit Sharma led India to the Champions Trophy triumph in March, but was replaced by Shubman Gill as the ODI captain before India toured Australia in October. For now, June 6 will be remembered as the day India signalled its intent for moving into the future by making Shreyas the T20I captain.
The cricket competition at the Asian Games will be held in ****** an between September 24 and October 3, 2026. India, along with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and hosts ****** an, received direct qualification for the men's event.

For the fifth year in a row, the Atlanta Falcons could enter the season with a new starting quarterback. The team is having an open competition between Michael Penix Jr. and veteran Tua Tagovailoa for the QB1 job.
Tagovailoa seems to have the early advantage being the healthier of the two quarterbacks, and his veteran experience could help him secure the job. Nonetheless, the Falcons are going to make sure the best man wins the job.
The national media seems to be convinced that it's Tagovailoa's gig to lose, but that doesn't mean we won't see both quarterbacks in 2026. In fact, Tua was listed as one of Bleacher Report's eight quarterbacks who could be benched this season.
"Another significant injury would quickly open the door for Penix or Trevor Siemian, as would a stretch of poor play," wrote B/R's Kristopher Knox. "Atlanta doesn't have much invested in the former Miami Dolphins starter, and if Tagovailoa can't deliver a playoff run, the Falcons will give Penix another chance to prove he can be the long-term answer. Of course, if Tagovailoa and Penix both battle injuries and/or underwhelm, Siemian could end up steering the ship down the stretch while the Falcons eye that 2027 QB class."
Tagovailoa was benched late in the 2025 season by the Miami Dolphins, leading to his release over the offseason. The Falcons were able to land Tua for the veteran minimum, which was a savvy move that gives the team another starting-caliber QB without paying an arm and a leg (aka the Kirk Cousins contract).

June 3 (Reuters) - Software stocks have rebounded from a punishing selloff as investors are betting that AI may boost the sector rather than leaving it for dead.
The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF has surged nearly 42% from its April low, turning fears that AI would rip the heart ‌out of the industry into hopes that software firms will enlist AI as a valuable ally. The software ETF is down under 2% for 2026 after ‌earlier falling 30%.
Now investors are flocking to firms they see succeeding at integrating AI and adjusting price models by charging clients based on actual usage – while steering clear of firms that are too dependent on traditional pricing, which involves subscription fees based on headcount.
Analysts and portfolio managers point to security providers Datadog and Palo Alto Networks, chip design software developer Synopsys and giants Oracle and Microsoft as some of their favorites.
