CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — A South Korean satellite has captured the first pictures of the moon's fresh crash scene caused by a stray ****** eX rocket.
The Korea Aerospace Research Institute's Danuri ****** ecraft flew over the impact site soon after the Falcon 9 upper stage inadvertently plowed into the moon on Wednesday. Danuri made multiple passes, snapping photos from lunar orbit that were released by the ****** e agency Thursday.
The terrain is noticeably darker where the rocket hit and carved out a crater, sending dust and rock everywhere. Korean ****** e officials said Danuri gathered before and after shots.
NASA expects its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter to fly over the crash site next week to view the aftermath.

Management said abrupt changes to Google's search algorithm hurt the company's traffic from the world's largest search engine, a serious problem for a business that depends heavily on customers finding it online. The news has been pointing this direction for a while now, but finally we get the most solid reporting yet that Manor Solmon is leaving Tottenham Hotspur. Fabrizio Romano (sigh) tweeted this afternoon that full agreement has been reached between Tottenham and West Ham, and Solomon will be heading across town to play football in the Championship next season. The deal is a permanent one.
I'll say again that £5m + £2m in add-ons is a fire-sale price for a player like Manor who has already proven that he can do well in the second division. That said, Solomon has proven himself to be a divisive — there I go using that word again — player who has been pretty much shut out by Spurs' last three managers, including Roberto De Zerbi who actually managed him at Shakhtar Donetsk from where he was signed three years ago. That tells me a lot. Clearly Spurs' priorities were more finding him a new club and less making any sort of substantial profit on his sale.
I won't belabor this and anyway I'm not opening the comments for this or any future Solomon article because honestly I'm just sick to death of the guy and am glad I no longer really have to write about him or moderate any more comment sections that discuss him. He was here, he didn't do much, and now he's nearly gone.
I will say that Solomon feels like a really weird fit for a club like West Ham considering their fans' past, y'know, conduct towards Tottenham Hotspur. A cursory social media search suggests this isn't the most popular signing with that lot. I do really, honestly hope that it doesn't turn out to be as bad a situation as I think it potentially could be, and that's all I'm going to say about that.
But Solomon is a tested and proven attacker at West Ham's current level and I have no doubt he'll do well there. Honestly, for what it's worth I'm just glad it's (almost) finally over.

Employers aren't abandoning performance-based pay raises after all.
Following backlash over workplaces doling out across-the-board salary increases, also known as "peanut ****** er" raises, rather than providing raises based on individual performance, more employers plan to step back from that practice next year.
The new data from compensation research firm Payscale shows employers are likely to favor more differentiated, merit-based pay. Just 32% of organizations are planning a peanut ****** er pay increase approach in 2027, down from 36% that actually gave one in 2026. "That's a significant drop-off," Ruth Thomas, pay equity strategist at Payscale, told Yahoo Finance.
Even better: Average pay ****** ps are expected to tick up. Employers plan a 3.5% average increase in 2027, up from 3.4% in 2026. That's on par with inflation but far below 2023, when workers scored pay hikes averaging 4.8%.
"We're starting to see some optimism — 30% of US organizations expect higher salary increases in 2027 from 2026," Thomas said.

Seriously didn't know how to do it," he further wrote.
Responding to Pant's appeal, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the India star for bringing laurels to Uttarakhand and welcomed his desire to return to his home state.

"Dear Rishabh, you are the pride of Uttarakhand. With your splendid performances and achievements, you have illuminated the name of Devbhoomi across the country and the world. Your love for your motherland and your desire to return and contribute here are truly commendable," Dhami posted on X.

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs reportedly generated interest from the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders before signing with the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Diggs was released by the Patriots in early March, ahead of free agency. He spent the entire spring and most of the summer searching for the right situation to join and continue his NFL career. Ultimately, he settled on returning to play for his hometown NFL team.
"The Chiefs reached out at one point. The Dolphins reached out. The Raiders reached out. He had some conversations with some teams, but I think it was going to be Washington all along," Schefter said on Diggs when appearing on The Pat McAfee Show.

A man charged with starting one of the wildfires in Spokane, Washington, that have destroyed hundreds of buildings planned the crime for weeks and researched when the weather would be best for igniting it, police said.
Aaron Farinacci expressed that "fire is powerful, beautiful, and that things that go through fire experience a kind of rebirth," Spokane County Detective Michael Drapeau said in a court filing Wednesday, recalling his interview with him.
Farinacci, 37, is charged with starting the Old Trails Fire, one of three fires in the Spokane area that have burned more than 850 homes and forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people. He is also charged in connection with two smaller fires ignited in the summer of 2025.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on three first-degree arson charges Thursday, but his lawyer asked for a competency evaluation before he enters a plea. Spokane Superior Court Judge Jeremy Schmidt said he would review that request. He set bond for $2 million, ruling that Farinacci was a risk to community safety, a flight risk and that there was potential for a violent offense.
Defense attorney Colin Charbonneau did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

Amid LIV Golf's uncertain future, the league gained some positive momentum this week when CEO Scott O'Neil announced a new lead investor had been secured as the Saudi PIF's funding ends this month.
LIV now appears to have a lifeline to continue operating in 2027, but many crucial questions remain about the league's next steps—for not only next year but also the conclusion of this season.
The identity of LIV's new financial backer is not yet being revealed, with O'Neil only saying there is an agreement in place that's expected to be finalized next month. LIV's search for new investors this summer included conversations with private equity firms, high-net-worth individuals, professional sports team owners, and family offices, among others.
Global private equity and credit firm BC Partners is reportedly exploring a deal with LIV. The firm's credit arm is "leading a group of investors looking at lending money to LIV," according to Bloomberg, which reported that LIV's "talks with BC Partners and others are advancing, but nothing has yet been finalized and details could still change."
A private credit deal would mean that a firm would likely expect to be repaid, as opposed to a focus on the upside from the investment in a private equity deal.

The Royals continue to search for pitching, claiming young left-hander Luke Little off waivers from the Cubs today. Little has appeared in 40 games over parts of the last four seasons with the Cubs with a 2.97 ERA, showing great velocity, but poor control.
Little was a fourth round pick in the 2020 draft out of San Jacinto College after going viral for some videos that exhibited some elite velocity. He stands at 6'8" and has a fastball that averages 96 mph. He made his MLB debut in 2023 with the Cubs, strikihng out 12 of the 30 batters he faced, and made 30 appearances for them in 2024. He had a 3.46 ERA that year with 28 strikeout and 18 walks in 26 innings.
Little appeared in just one game with the Cubs this year, and has struggled with his control in the minors. He has 34 walks in 39.1 innings to go with 44 strikeout and a 5.03 ERA across Double-A and Triple-A. The Cubs designated him for **** ignment this week after the trade deadline and the 26-year old is in his final year of options.
To make room for Little on the 40-man roster, the Royals transferred Luinder Avila to the 60-day Injured List. Avila is out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery yesterday.

Investigators searched the KFA headquarters in Cheonan, about 90 kilometers (56 miles) south of Seoul, and the KFA House in central Seoul, looking for evidence that officials improperly intervened in the hiring process.
A police investigation began shortly after Hong's appointment but had stalled this summer after nearly two years without a conclusion. It gained renewed attention amid public anger after South Korea was eliminated in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
Hong, who had also led the team at the 2014 World Cup, stepped down after the tournament, as did Chung Mong-gyu as federation president. Both appeared before a parliamentary hearing at the National ****** embly in Seoul in July.
