Portland, Oregon, mother Allison Roberts filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Portland Public Schools and her children's elementary school after allegedly facing retaliation over her opposition to their gender curriculum.
According to the Liberty Justice Center, which filed the lawsuit on behalf of Roberts, she initially expressed concern last year over Meriwether Lewis Elementary School's decision to repaint its traditional rainbow pride flag into an "Intersex-Inclusive Progress" variant to include support for racial and transgender ideology.
Though Roberts supported "being immersed" in Portland's gay community, she felt that the new flag was "an overtly political symbol that promotes values contradictory to her Christian faith," specifically due to its promotion of transgenderism.

It was but a mere glimpse, but what an encouraging view of Klint Kubiak's Las Vegas Raiders offense in the preseason opener, no?
A mix of both efficiency and staples of the Kubiak scheme, the Silver & Black's head coach and offensive play caller provided a window into what he's cooking up this season in Las Vegas' 27-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals this past Thursday.
The opening drive showcases the ever-efficient Kirk Cousins in the driver seat as the veteran quarterback and looking sharp pacing a 10-play, 68-yard touchdown drive. Behind an offensive line that kept him clean and comfortable, Cousins went 5-of-6 for 50 yards with his touchdown pass going to tight end Michael Mayer. It was a script featuring the heavy personnel packages — multiple tight ends — a (gasp!) fullback in Connor Heyward, pre-snap motions, and balanced air and ground attacks.
It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, of course. And Kubiak — a rookie head coach — admitted as much in the post-game press conference.
"I think the thing that stands out to me, ***** ytically or not, is our penalties. We really hurt ourselves," the Raiders head coach said. "We put ourselves in some negative situations, and that's not winning football. Offensively, the fact that we didn't turn the ball over is always good. That's something that didn't stand out last night, but offensively, you can't go into a half a football and not score points. So, we didn't help the defense there. We weren't playing team football in that second half."

Aleksander Pavlović is the perfect example of a Bayern Munich youth talent breaking through to the first team and becoming a top player. While it is a rare thing for these examples in the last decade or so, the academy is trending in the right direction. When these players to break through to the senior team, it really is something special and Pavlović himself recently spoke upon his experience.
"I already had the club in my heart when I joined FC Bayern at the age of seven. Growing up in Munich, I was always a Bayern fan, and I went through every youth team at the club. It wasn't until the U-19s that I first realized I had a real chance of making it as a professional player for my favourite club. Today, it's truly special for me, a dream come true, to play for my home club," stated Pavlović, as captured by iMiaSanMia.
It is truly unbelievable to imagine such a dream coming true, but it hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows for the German midfielder. Pavlović missed out on the home tournament of Euro 2024 and several other big opportunities over his young career due to odd injuries and illnesses.
Luckily, it seems like that luck is behind him and while he didn't exactly shine bright at the World Cup over the summer, the future of the Bayern Munich midfield is in strong hands with himself and Tom Bischof poised to lead the midfield over the next decade. Here's hoping for Pavlović to have a long and successful career in his familiar home in Munich.

By now, the mere idea of Jaylen Brown joining the Philadelphia 76ers is well-entrenched. It was probably even more solidified by LeBron James deciding to "take his talents" to Philadelphia to form one of the NBA's best rosters, especially with its core of Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Brown, and James.
For Brown, in particular, though, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows the moment he learned he was leaving the Boston Celtics.
During his introductory press conference with the 76ers on Thursday, Brown revealed his initial reaction to the Celtics trading him. He said he threw his phone across the room as soon as he saw the notification confirming the news. And honestly? I get it! Brown cut his teeth with the Celtics in a decade-plus with one of the NBA's premier organizations. He became an All-NBA-caliber player in Boston. He won a championship in Boston, where he was also named 2024 NBA Finals MVP.
Knowing you're leaving all of that personal and team history behind at once can't be easy to process so quickly:
Of course, Brown seems eager to get after it with the 76ers now. But that's probably because he's had about a month to digest the news and start adjusting to his new professional reality. In the moment, you'd forgive him for lashing out a little bit in the privacy of his own home. It's something we'd likely all do if we were in his shoes.

Ever since the New York Mets signed Juan Soto, there have been rumors of tension between him and Francisco Lindor, the face of the franchise before Soto's arrival.
The fact that the team has been extremely disappointing for the last two seasons likely has not helped things, but both players have publicly denied any beef. However, that does not mean things were sunshine and rainbows behind the scenes.
According to ESPN's Jorge Castillo, there was lingering tension between the two, but Freddy Peralta, who is now with the Tampa Bay Rays, arranged for the two to sit down and work things out.
"With tension lingering into their second season as teammates, multiple sources told ESPN that Peralta in June arranged for the two stars to vent and work through their disconnect," Castillo wrote on Wednesday. "Since then, sources told ESPN, Lindor and Soto's relationship has been noticeably warmer, with the players interacting more often."

The Audi Summer Tour kicked off in the Korean island of Jeju with Bayern Munich taking on Jeju SK FC. The Bavarians fielded a lot of young players for a large portion of the match and the 2-1 lead is a result of the Bayern youth's hard work. While a few of the first team players came on later in the game, they could not affect the scoreboard despite some good chances. Here are the match awards from this hard fought game although it was a friendly on paper.
The Brazilian was a live wire for Jeju. Aiás was not only a finishing threat, but also had the skill to set up one of his teammates. Jeju's goal came off some sheer brilliance from the Brazilian forward. His rainbow flick near the goal line completely flummoxed Kim Min-jae. He found his partner Chang-Min Lee who pulled back his marker in the very last moment to drift into open ***** e. That was all Jeju needed to equalize. It was a brilliant goal from the setup by Aiás to the finish by Lee. Aiás was also the joint highest dribbler of the game with Bayern's Guido Della Rovere.
The Bayern backline suffered from poor communication. Dayot Upamecano did not travel for the tour and is on an extended holiday after France's deep run in the World Cup. The Frenchman's absence along with Jonathan Tah starting on the bench exposed the lack of leadership and co-ordination in the defense. The duo of Hiroki Itō and Kim Min-jae should have done better being the seniors on the pitch. While Jeju's goal was brilliant, there were gaps in the box throughout the first half that could have led to more goals conceded.
João Palhinha was often rushing to break up play or screen the backline. He made two crucial tackles and was the primary physical presence for Bayern in their own third of the pitch. The Portuguese international's reading of the game allowed him to shield his defenders and the passing lanes in between. His ***** ist to Bastian ***** omo's winning goal came from an interception due to his positioning. A good game for Palhinha and maybe under Vincent Kompany can become a crucial sub in Champions League knockouts.
The young midfielder showed once again why he is Bayern's present and future in midfield. His technical ability is supreme, there is always a diagonal pass ready to precisely find his teammate across the pitch. His time at left-back last season further honed his defensive skills and that has improved his game in the middle. Bischof can really throw a tackle if he needs to. This is despite Bischof coming off as a typical technical player, who might prefer to let a defender or a CDM do the dirty work. With two tackles and just three passes misplaced, the 21 year-old is the best box-to-box midfielder under Kompany at the moment. Additionally, Bischof is miles ahead of Joshua Kimmich with his corner kicks which will be a welcome change in that direction.

Kim Min-jae's return to the pitch in front of his home fans was one of the highlights of Bayern Munich's 2-1 preseason victory over Jeju SK, but many supporters wondered why the South Korean defender's outing lasted just 30 minutes (and no, it had noting to do with that wild rainbow flick by Matheus Aiás).
After the match, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany explained that the substitution was always part of the plan and had nothing to do with Kim's performance. Speaking to a Korean journalists, Kompany talked about Kim's early exit and his role on the squad.
"Minjae is an important player for us. It was workload management, because he will play 60 minutes against Aston Villa on Friday. He can't play more during this phase. It was nice that he started and wore the captain's armband here in Korea. But we couldn't take risks. That was the plan," said Kompany (as captured by iMiaSanMia).
The comments underline just how highly Kompany views Kim ahead of the new season. Rather than pushing the defender beyond his planned workload, Bayern Munich is carefully managing his fitness as he builds toward full match sharpness.
Kompany also highlighted the significance of Kim captaining Bayern Munich in his home country. Wearing the armband in front of a passionate Korean crowd was a special moment for both the player and the supporters who came to see one of their nation's biggest football stars represent the German champions.

Meghan Markle's life has changed dramatically since meeting and marrying Prince Harry — and her style has evolved right alongside it.
Before becoming the ***** ss of Sussex, Meghan was best known for her role as Rachel Zane on Suits. A California native, she favored a fun and polished style — mixing colorful dresses, bold prints and trend-driven looks on red carpets.
As she stepped into royal life, Meghan traded many of her Hollywood looks for more traditional silhouettes while still adding modern touches. But in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, she revealed that many of her wardrobe choices as a working royal were carefully calculated. Meghan said she often wore neutral shades like camel, beige and white so she wouldn't stand out alongside more senior members of the royal family.
That changed during hers and Harry's final week as working royals.
"Until that last week in the U.K. I rarely wore color," Meghan said. "I never wanted to upstage or ruffle any feathers, so I just tried to blend in. But I wore a lot of color that week. I thought: 'Well, let's just look like a rainbow.' "

35' — Sub: Kim Min-jae off for Tim Binder. Is he injured? He did not seem to be.
15' — Goal. Did Kim just get rainbow flicked? Lee Chang-min scores to make it 1-1.
11' — GOAL! Huge scramble in the box, with Bayern playing pinball. Felipe Chávez finally strikes home past the Jeju SK goalkeeper.
5' — As noted in the comments, all of those empty seats…wow.

Few things in life are certain beyond death, taxes, and Tadej Pogacar winning the Tour de France. This year's Grande Boucle went almost entirely as expected, offering few real surprises or diversions from the status quo, as the marauding Slovenian won another five stages en route to his record-equalling fifth ****** le.
His place in the pantheon of greats had already been cemented and there are few superlatives left to describe his grip on the sport. He is now equal with cycling legends in the form of Eddy Merckx, Jacques Anquetil, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain on five wins; his 26 stage wins leave him nine off the record of Mark Cavendish, who will be wishing he'd postponed retirement by another year or two.
There could have been more had Pogacar not opted to babysit young teammate Isaac del Toro to a stage win, third place on the podium, and the best young rider's jersey too. Pogacar is able to win at will but sometimes seems happier in the role of world's most powerful domestique; perhaps the only thing holding him back from an unprecedented sixth ****** le is whether he can muster the enthusiasm for it. At 27, he is younger than all of his fellow five-time winners were and will be in his prime for a while yet.
But while the Pogacar era looks set to continue for some time, the post-Pogacar era already looks to be one to savour. Those left cold by the two-time world champion's iron grip on the sport can set a reminder to tune in in a couple of seasons' time, or perhaps as early as this autumn's Vuelta, should Pogacar skip it – as expected – to target a third rainbow jersey.
Pogacar seemed to enjoy helping del Toro as much if not more than winning stages (AP)

Remco Evenepoel made it back-to-back stage wins at the Tour de France as he marked Belgian national day with victory in a time trial on the banks of Lake Geneva on Tuesday.
Resplendent in the rainbow bands, the world time trial champion completed the 26 kilometre course in a time of 32 minutes 19 seconds, beating Tadej Pogačar by 28 seconds.
He took a small bite out of the Slovenian's commanding advantage in yellow, now 4 minutes 32 seconds, but more importantly opened up a significant gap over Isaac del Toro in the fight for second.
But it was a bittersweet day for Evenepoel's Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe team as Florian Lipowitz, third overall last year and fifth in this Tour at the start of the day, crashed 6 kilometres from the finish and abandoned with an apparent broken collarbone.
When Evenepoel won Sunday's stage 15 atop Plateau de Solaison, it was his first career Tour road stage win, but this was his third time trial success in the world's biggest race. What was a 58-second advantage over Del Toro is now 2 minutes and 19 seconds.

As the college football world turns, University of Hawaii head coach Timmy Chang remains grounded in his goals.
“I think college football has changed,” said Chang, who enters his fifth season as the Rainbow Warriors’ leader. “You have to be flexible to build a roster and compete. We’re doing that. We’re a different type of program. We’re in a different location. And that poses different factors and opportunities and challenges that we have to be able to adapt.”
Fifty-four months after inheriting a disheartened program that was in emotional turmoil, Chang is navigating an evolving landscape. The transfer portal has eased the way for players to change schools without interruption. Student-athletes may now profit from use of their name, image and likeness. The House vs. NCAA settlement requires profit sharing up to $20.5 million annually per school. (UH has budgeted $5 million for NILs and profit sharing this coming academic year, with $2.5 million earmarked for football.)
The Rainbow Warriors have been impacted living in a material whirl.
“Jackson Harris is an example,” Chang said of the wideout who received a lucrative NIL deal after transferring to LSU following the 2025 regular season. “I think he loved our program, but he left for the money.”

This offseason, University of Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado is routinely clocked at 4:45.
With a lights-outs bedtime of 8:30 p.m., Alejado awakens at 4 in the morning, showers, and then arrives at UH at 4:45. Maybe earlier, never later.
"I try to be the first one there," Alehado, 21, said of the 6 a.m. start to conditioning drills. "Start warming up my body and get ready for the workout. I'm getting older. The body takes a little bit longer to get warmed up now."
Entering his third year — and second as QB1 — with the Rainbow Warriors, Alejado has embraced his leadership role.
"I want to set the example," said Alejado, whose summer schedule is built around the Warriors' training.

The University of Hawaii basketball team has secured a commitment from a player with as many tools as a Swiss Army knife.
Alois Leyrolles, a resident of Fribourg, Switzerland, said he made a written pledge to join the Rainbow Warriors this coming season. Finalizing a student visa, Leyrolles is hopeful of participating in the ’Bows’ summer training next week.
“It’s an awesome place,” Leyrolles said of choosing the ’Bows. “What they have to offer on the court and in my development, it was really clear.”
Leyrolles said he received interest from other NCAA schools and European teams.
“It was clear enough I would join (the ’Bows), and I stopped the (recruiting process) with everybody else,” he said. “Even in Europe, too.”

“I’m super honored Rich would trust me with something like that,” Twohig said, “and trust the ability of decision-making.”
From the coach’s box near third, Hill would issue the stop or go signs to baserunners, relay strategy and call timeouts to encourage hitters and throw off a pitcher’s rhythm. But Hill said he probably is better “served in the dugout,” among his players, with a macro view and the timing to call changes and plays.
“I said if I felt like that,” Hill added, “I’m going back in.”

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie recently reignited the simmering Major League Baseball Pride Night controversy, publicly rebuking Giants players who altered or refused to wear rainbow-themed caps — even as a federal investigation into the league’s handling of players’ religious objections remains active.
At a Pride Month fundraiser, Lurie publicly criticized the players who chose not to wear the rainbow uniforms or who spoke out against them – a story The Dallas Express has been covering since June.
A Recap of The Controversy
The issue began June 12, when three Giants pitchers – Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker and Ryan Walker – wrote a Bible verse, Genesis 9:12-16, on their Pride Night caps, which featured the team’s rainbow-colored logo. The passage the pitchers referenced describes God setting a rainbow in the sky as a sign of his covenant with Noah after the flood.
A fourth reliever, Sam Hentges, declined to wear the special cap altogether, opting for the team’s standard logo cap.

In a recent appearance on the popular Door, ****** per, Clear podcast, Noah Gragson offhandedly referred to Landon Huffman as the ‘resident complainer’ of the CARS Tour, and while that’s a gross exaggeration, his growing content machine is opening doors.
Huffman, 30, will make his return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the first time in seven years on July 18 at North Wilkesboro Speedway with Henderson Motorsports with a hodgepodge of supporters.
But Huffman also wants you to know that 1) He isn’t a constant complainer but 2) that authentic and honest content has allowed him to make a career out of short track racing when that is otherwise hard to do.
He is one of the veteran faces of the CARS Tour and Late Model Stock competition, a winner in the regional tour but also a champion at both Hickory Motor Speedway and Tri-County Motor Speedway -- his home tracks.
Huffman chronicles the highs and lows through the Huffman Racing Radio weekly podcast, a YouTube vlog and his social media accounts. In short, the short track life is not always ****** erflies and rainbows.

Is this a real photo showing Pride rainbow flags on the field ahead of the Iran-Egypt World Cup game in Seattle on June 26, 2026? No, that's not true: The image is AI-generated, an online detection tool identified it as such by detecting a SynthID watermark. There are no credible reports that Pride flags appeared on the field before the match.
The claim appeared in a post and image (archived here) by the zachleft account on X on June 27, 2026. It read:

San Francisco Giants beat reporter Susan Slusser shared some matter-of-fact thoughts during her appearance on KNBR last Friday. Her response to a question from guest host Larry Krueger about the longterm impact of the Giants’ Pride Night controversy raised eyebrows.
It sounds like they must’ve raised Krueger’s eyebrows as well, though he didn’t say anything at the time, choosing instead to share his thoughts Monday on social media.
That didn’t sit very well with Slusser.
The Giants and Major League Baseball have been dealing with the PR fallout after several players protested their annual Pride Night celebration by writing Bible verses on hats that featured a rainbow version of the team’s logo.
During an appearance on KNBR’s Murph & Markus, Krueger asked the San Francisco Chronicle’s Slusser if the fallout will have a long-term impact on the team’s ability to attract free agents.

BUDAPEST, June 27 (Reuters) - More than 10,000 Hungarians on Saturday joined Budapest's first annual Pride march since right-wing leader Viktor Orban's election defeat in April, braving record heat in the city to walk with huge rainbow and European Union flags.
Last year's march, which Orban tried to ban as part of his wider policies targeting LGBTQ+ rights, turned into a mass anti-government demonstration that attracted tens of thousands of people.
This year, after Orban's defeat to Peter Magyar's centre-right Tisza party, the ban was lifted and the march cleared to go ahead.
Fanni Fajth, an 18-year-old student, said the mood was much more optimistic after the political change in the country, and due to hopes for new rights related to adoption, and marriage in the future.

A landmark anniversary, a varied programme including a new information gazebo – and, as every year, the Allianz Arena lit up in the colours of the rainbow: FC Bayern is once again supporting its 'QUEERPASS Bayern' fan club as part of its 'Red Against Racism' initiative at Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Munich's city centre this Saturday. A special highlight this year: 'QUEERPASS Bayern' is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The fan club members look forward to welcoming everyone who joins them at the CSD from 12:00 CEST onwards to send a joint message of diversity, tolerance and respectful coexistence. The meeting point is from 11.15 by the float with start number 123 in Block E on Erhardtstraße, on the corner of Zweibrückenstraße. This year, the walking group will be accompanied by two FCB vehicles, including one with its own DJ booth. Mascots Berni and Mia will also be joining in once again.
For the first time, in collaboration with ‘QUEERPASS Bayern’, ‘Red against Racism’ will also be present throughout the day with its own information stand, to create a **** e for discussion about diversity in sport. At the same time, the initiative is supporting the independent queer sports network ‘Sportpride’, which campaigns for the normalisation of queer people in sport.
The stand, which will be supported by members of FC Bayern’s volunteer development programme ‘PACK MA’S’, will be located in the so-called ‘Sportarea’ of the CSD on Ludwigstraße, between Schellingstraße and Geschwister-Scholl-Platz. ‘Sportpride’ will also have a stand there.
As in previous years, the Allianz Arena will once again be lit up in the colours of the rainbow in the evening (from 21.30 - 23:00 CEST).

A projected starting pitcher might be leaving the University of Hawaii baseball team.
Right-hander Brody Martin-Grudzielanek, who recently completed his freshman season with the Rainbow Warriors, confirmed he has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
"I'm just exploring my options as of now," Martin-Grudzielanek told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. "There is a chance I come back (to UH)."
Martin-Grudzielanek was projected to be in the starting rotation, possibly as the series-opening pitcher, if he pitched for the 'Bows in 2027.
This past season, Martin-Grudzielanek was 0-5, but he pitched to a 4.02 ERA and 1.31 WHIP while averaging 8.8 strikeouts per nine innings. Left-handed batters hit .182 against Martin-Grudzielanek. His fastball topped at 97 mph.

The Rainbow Warriors are treating the state's ultimate individual event like a team thing.
University of Hawaii men's golfers Joshua Hayashida and Dane Watanabe made quick work of their opponents in the first round of the 117th Manoa Cup at Oahu Country Club on Tuesday, rushing to get off the course only to be in an equal hurry to get to the tee box to cheer on a friend.
They are the only two current Rainbow Warriors in the tournament, but the brackets are littered with former 'Bows like Zachary Sagayaga, who reached the final four in the event the past two years while still competing for the school.
"We are all rooting each other on," Watanabe said. "It's good because we are all in different brackets and won't have to play each other (until the semifinals) if we keep winning. It makes it more fun. They are all my teammates and friends."
Hayashida, a two-time champion and one of only two past winners in the field, played Alan Wong in the round of 64 for the second straight year and beat his friendly foe 6-up with a par on the 14th hole after topping him 5&3 last year. Hayashida had a 14-match winning streak in the event end to Peter Jung in the round of 16 last year, and with Jung, defending champion Remington Hirano and others not in the field he is probably in the uncomfortable position of being the favorite.

The York Revolution, a minor-league team playing independent baseball in York, Pennsylvania, announced Wednesday “with great disappointment” that its “Pride Night” game set for Thursday night has been canceled because several of the club’s players refused to wear the scheduled “Pride Night” jerseys.
Most notably, the themed jerseys are fittingly adorned with rainbow-patterned sleeves.
“… The club decided that hosting the event is more important than forcing players to wear jerseys they are not comfortable with and playing the game,” the statement reads.
“As a result, and out of respect for the Pride Community and the York community as a whole, the York Revolution has decided that the game on Thursday, June 18, will be forfeited and that Pride Night will continue on as the feature element of the evening at WellSpan Park.
“We feel that this is the best way to stay consistent with our long-standing partnerships with the Rainbow Rose Center, JLS Automation and the long list of allies that have always been key partners of the York Revolution’s success in York, Pennsylvania.

Selling the OC star Gio Helou and his wife, Tiffany Helou, are parents again after a difficult year in their family journey.
The couple welcomed their second child, daughter Tatum Grace Helou, on Friday, June 12, at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California. People reported that Tiffany gave birth naturally and without medication, and that Tatum weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz.
Tatum joins the couple's 2-year-old son, Teddy. Her arrival comes after Tiffany and Gio publicly shared two pregnancy losses in less than six months, including an ectopic pregnancy in late 2024 and a second miscarriage in spring 2025.
Tiffany told People that she and Gio were overjoyed to welcome their daughter after a year that "truly tested" them. She called Tatum "the greatest blessing" and described her as their "double rainbow baby," a reference to the couple's two pregnancy losses before her birth.

Some prominent Republicans, including Vice President JD Vance, have criticized the MLB after the league issued warnings to three San Francisco Giants players who wrote Bible verses on rainbow-patterned LGBTQ Pride Night caps, violating the league’s policy against altering uniforms.

Vance, in response to a Sports Illustrated post on X reporting that the MLB warned the three players, said Tuesday afternoon: “Trump won we don’t have to do this anymore.”
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., sent a letter to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred on Tuesday afternoon, accusing the league of a “pattern of discrimination” against players who “profess their Christian faith,” demanding the MLB respond to questions about its policies on altering uniforms and religious expression.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier appeared to threaten legal action against the league in a post on X on Tuesday afternoon, saying, “Do you practice religious discrimination in Florida, MLB? You’ll be hearing from my office soon.”
