Bayern Munich has decided that Maycon Cardozo and Tim Binder are better served continuing their development in Bavaria rather than heading out on loan.
According to Sky Germany's journalist Kerry Hau, both teenagers attracted several interesting loan offers, but Bayern Munich decided to keep them in the squad. The plan is for Cardozo and Binder to continue training regularly with Vincent Kompany's senior team, after making strong impressions during preseason.
That is a significant vote of confidence in two players who have emerged as intriguing prospects at the Bayern campus.
Cardozo, 17, has already made history at Bayern Munich. He became the first player from the club's World Squad program to appear for the senior team when he made his Bundesliga debut last season. He has continued progressing through the youth ranks, while also gaining experience with Bayern Munich II.
Binder, 19, has also caught attention with his pace, dribbling ability, and attacking intent. Bayern Munich specifically highlighted his performance during the preseason friendly against Wehen Wiesbaden.

An entertainment industry group that includes Hollywood producers Haim Saban, Lawrence Bender and Teddy Schwarzman has released a statement condemning the alleged "antisemitic tropes" underpinning Mark Ruffalo's opposition to Paramount's leadership amid its proposed merger with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD).
The statement comes from a group calling itself The Brigade, which describes itself as "a group of nearly 1,000 members, friends, and allies of the Jewish community who are proud to be working in film, television, music, Broadway, social and digital, and other platforms in and around the entertainment industry."

"Hacks" star Hannah Einbinder has come to the defense of Mark Ruffalo after Paramount accused him of invoking "antisemitic tropes" when criticizing the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger.
It all kicked off on Friday, when Ruffalo shared a clip on Instagram of Paramount board member Safra Catz outlining "really profoundly scary technologies" that Oracle — the tech giant co-founded by Larry Ellison, father of Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison, who is involved in the merger's financing — used to help the Israeli military after the Oct. 7 terror attack. Ruffalo likened Larry Ellison to a "classic oligarch" and warned of the consequences if Paramount and Warner Bros. are allowed to merge, alleging that the Ellisons "are crushing workers and consolidating the wealth of the world for their own power and concentrated dominance." Of Catz, he said: "Look how she revels in what we now have come to see as a genocide, which was built on an apartheid system of oppression powered by Oracle."

Hannah Einbinder has come out strongly in defense of Mark Ruffalo as the actor faces an accusation of "antisemitism" from Paramount Skydance over his opposition to the studio's deal for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD).
Paramount accused Ruffalo of antisemitism after the actor drew links between Larry Ellison's tech giant Oracle and the Israeli military. Larry Ellison is the father of Paramount CEO David Ellison and provided much of the funding that allowed David Ellison's Skydance to merge with Paramount Global in 2025 and is also heavily involved in the financing of Paramount's merger with WBD.

Hannah Einbinder shared a lengthy Instagram story post on Monday evening supporting Mark Ruffalo after he was accused of being antisemitic by a Paramount spokesperson for highlighting the Ellison family's connection to the Israeli state and its military apparatus.
"I'm so grateful that Mark Ruffalo drew a connection between the Ellisons providing military technology to Israel during a genocide and their unprecedented media takeover–and pointed out that this is a dangerous consolidation of power that could ultimately be used against us," Einbinder posted.

Superb strikes by Benjamin Nygren, and Camilo Duran have put Celtic within touching distance of the money laden group stages, but admittedly Celtic did ride their luck at times, as the Austrians had two goals ruled out for offside, as well as passing up a host of other chances.
The Finnish International said: "I think we can be better, as weird as it may sound. The big moments went for us and there's a lot that we can do better.
"Ultimately we've come away with a 3-0 win so we've got to be happy, but I think there's a lot more to come from the group."
Despite Duran, and Nygren taking the plaudits thanks to their magnificent strikes, Sinisalo played his part by pulling off a couple of vital stops that went a long way in maintaining our three goal advantage.

And this is becoming something of a running theme. I was hopeful that Hannah had turned a corner, but this look has me right back to thinking that she's yet to find a style direction that really suits her.

BATTLE CREEK - The trophy for the best golfer in the county won't be staying in the county this year.
Lansing's Trevor Raymond beat all the local golfers to take first at the 49th annual Calhoun County Amateur Golf Championship on Sunday, Aug. 16 at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek.
"This is a great tourney to win," Raymond said. "There is good competition around here. They are good players and they are guys who play here a lot. So they are good players and they know the course. So I feel a little lucky to get this."

Bayern Munich clinched another preseason trophy (we know, we know) as it secured a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig to capture the prestigious Telekom Cup.
It was a very interesting game for the Bavarians, who did a little experimenting with personnel and the formation. Let's take a look at how it all played out. Here are some quick hitters on the match:

Vincent Kompany went with a mixed bag of a lineup, but was mostly comprised of returnees, but did also include newcomer Nathaniel Brown and youngster Tim Binder. Binder is a real live wire, but definitely needs some refining.
Binder's fearlessness is a great thing, but he does have to find a way to properly balance when to take his chances. He is surely a player with some potential, who could be another hidden gem from Bayern Munich's academy. If he can be a little more sure on the ball and keep that attacking mindset, he could be a real player to watch develop.

One of the biggest positives to come out of Bayern Munich's Asia tour may have had very little to do with the results.
The tour gave Vincent Kompany and the Bayern Munich coaching staff an extended look at several young players who might otherwise have struggled to get meaningful opportunities with the first team. With a number of established players unavailable because of the World Cup, the door was opened for some of Bayern Munich's prospects to travel with the squad and earn valuable playing time.
According to Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer (via iMiaSanMia_GER), what the club saw was extremely encouraging.
"It was important during the Asia tour to see that many of the young players have enormous potential. Because some established players weren't there due to the World Cup, many young ones were able to travel along and also got playing time. When one sees someone like that (Bastian) ***** omo or (Tim) Binder, (Maycon) Cardozo or Bara (Sapoko Ndiaye), there's a lot of potential there," said Hainer.
