Madison Investments, an investment advisor, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter for the "Madison Large Cap Fund". A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the second quarter, U.S. stock market indices achieved their best performance since 2020, driven largely by a narrow group of Artificial Intelligence-related stocks. As in the pandemic's early days, investors are fixated on who will benefit from AI, reminiscent of the late 1990s internet bubble. Against this backdrop, The Madison Large Cap Fund (class I) returned 8.4% in the second quarter of 2026, compared to a 15.2% increase in the S&P 500 Index. The current market's extreme narrowness is concerning, and history suggests this won't persist. While AI is reshaping society and the economy, today's winners may not remain so, and booms could lead to busts. Additionally, factors such as a volatile federal administration, growing budget deficits, inflation, high interest rates, and strained consumer finances will significantly impact the economy and stock market in the future. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Madison Large Cap Fund highlighted Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA) as a new holding. Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA), spun off from Honeywell International in June 2026, manufactures and supplies aircraft components, avionics, engines, and systems. On August 21, 2026, Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA) closed at $164.73 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $52.21 billion. Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA) posted a one‑month return of ‑21.87%.
Madison Large Cap Fund stated the following regarding Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA) is a leading aerospace and defense supplier, supporting OEM, government, and aircraft operator customers. The company's products sit on a wide variety of aerospace programs with approximately 90% of in-service aircraft today having Honeywell Aerospace content. The separation from Honeywell International should enhance an already high-quality business as management compensation and capital allocation will be better tailored to the specific needs of the business. We believe the combination of attractive growth outlook, improved incentives, and optimized capital allocation is underappreciated."
Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA) is not on our list of the 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds. While we acknowledge the potential of Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ:HONA) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.

RGA Investment Advisors, an investment management company, has released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. The letter addresses the incorporation of AI into investment strategies and the dramatic changes in market dynamics that have emerged, specifically referencing the AI Bottleneck 40. This group of stocks is crucial to data center infrastructure. Initially, these stocks were closely aligned with the S&P, but by mid-2025, they began to diverge and outperform the index, exhibiting significant volatility, with realized volatility rates approaching 60%. The letter stresses the importance of continually monitoring these trends and adjusting the investment strategy. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, RGA Investment Advisors highlighted GitLab Inc. (NASDAQ:GTLB). GitLab Inc. (NASDAQ:GTLB) develops a platform that supports the software development lifecycle, covering DevSecOps lifecycle stages. On August 24, 2026, GitLab Inc. (NASDAQ:GTLB) closed at $42.03 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $7.099 billion. GitLab Inc. (NASDAQ:GTLB) posted a one‑month return of 27.50%, while its shares lost 3.98% over the past 52 weeks.
RGA Investment Advisors stated the following regarding GitLab Inc. (NASDAQ:GTLB) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We bought shares in GitLab Inc. (NASDAQ:GTLB). GitLab is a software company offering DevSecOps and git management for enterprises, serving as an essential "orchestrating" layer for companies to securely manage their codebase and IP. AI is unquestionably driving demand for GitLab's offerings, but there is concern around its traditional per seat pricing model versus a consumption-based model. If AI reduces the number of employees in technical roles at large enterprises, this presents a headwind to growth. This headwind has slowed top-line growth faster than GitLab's budding consumption-based models for AI agents have been able to replace the lost revenue. As it stands today, AI-based revenues are a small piece of the pie, but we expect substantial growth over time. At sub-4x EV/sales, around 20x EV/EBITDA and a free cash flow yield over 5%, we think the valuation is compelling for a business still growing its top line in the high teens and playing an increasingly important role in enterprise AI workflows."

Orbis Investment Management, an investment management company, released its Q2 2026 investor letter for "Orbis Global Equity Strategy". The letter can be downloaded here. In the first half of 2026, the Global Equity Strategy returned 19.9%, surpassing the MSCI All Country World Index by 7.8%. The market faced narrow breadth in the quarter. The strategy focuses on AI investments categorized into four groups: "Core" (direct exposure), "Enablers" (supporting businesses), "AI Powered" (companies enhanced by AI), and "Overlooked" (misjudged resilient companies). The firm emphasizes maintaining strong but flexible convictions in a fluctuating market, prioritizing disciplined, evidence-based investment over emotional decision-making. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Orbis Global Equity Strategy highlighted QXO, Inc. (NYSE:QXO). QXO, Inc. (NYSE:QXO) is a leading US-based roofing, waterproofing, and complementary building products distributor. On August 24, 2026, QXO, Inc. (NYSE:QXO) closed at $13.41 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $13.91 billion. QXO, Inc. (NYSE:QXO) posted a one-month return of -5.89%, while its shares lost 35.93% over the past 52 weeks.
Orbis Global Equity Strategy stated the following regarding QXO, Inc. (NYSE:QXO) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We think about AI through the same lens. Most early corporate AI adoption is a motor swap: existing workflows, existing structures, existing ***** umptions, with AI bolted on. The companies that compound the most value are those willing to redesign the floor. This is a question I ask of every management team I invest behind. QXO, Inc. (NYSE:QXO) is doing exactly that. As it consolidates the prosaic, low-tech business of building products distribution, it is rebuilding the operating model itself, from pricing and procurement to inventory and branch data, rather than bolting technology onto the old way of working."
QXO, Inc. (NYSE:QXO) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 83 hedge fund portfolios held QXO, Inc. Austin Hill has been knocking on the door of the NASCAR Cup Series for years. In 2027, Richard Childress Racing is finally handing him the keys.
RCR announced Monday that Hill will drive the No. 33 Chevrolet full time next season, giving the longtime organization driver his first full-time opportunity at NASCAR's highest level.
It's a promotion that has felt increasingly inevitable. Hill has become one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR's O'Reilly Auto Parts Series while steadily adding Cup starts to his workload. Rather than rush him into the sport's top division, RCR has allowed the 32-year-old to build experience along the way.
Now the waiting is over.
"I'm extremely thankful to Richard and everyone at RCR for believing in me and giving me this opportunity," Hill said. "Every race car driver dreams of competing full time in the NASCAR Cup Series, and to have that opportunity with RCR is something I don't take for granted."

At least one in four NFL players could develop chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a progressive brain disease linked to repeated head impacts, new research suggests.
Researchers found CTE in 215 of 878 former NFL players who died between 2016 and 2021, meaning 24.5 percent have died with CTE. The study was led by Dr. Daniel Daneshvar, a physician and researcher at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School, along with researchers from Boston University and other institutions.
That figure may underestimate how common CTE is among former NFL players. Researchers examined the brains of 235 of the 878 players who died during the study period, leaving 643 brains unexamined.
CTE is caused by repeated head impacts and can only be definitively diagnosed after death. It is extremely rare without repeated head trauma. The disease can cause memory loss, confusion, mood changes, impaired decision-making, impulsive behavior and addiction, according to the American Brain Foundation.
CTE was first identified in boxers nearly a century ago and has since been found in other athletes exposed to repeated head impacts, including hockey, rugby, soccer, wrestling and bobsledding. Researchers have also found evidence suggesting military personnel exposed to repeated blasts may be at risk.

A new study from researchers at Mass General Brigham, Boston University, and the Concussion & CTE Foundation found that at least one in four former NFL players who died between 2016 and 2021 had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head trauma.
The findings, published Tuesday in The British Medical Journal, examined former NFL players from the hard-shell helmet era and suggest the prevalence of CTE among professional football players is significantly higher than in the general population.
Researchers identified 878 former NFL players who died between 2016 and 2021. Of those, 235 donated their brains for study, and 215 of the donated brains, or 91.4%, showed evidence of CTE.
Because CTE can only be diagnosed after death through brain tissue examination, researchers estimated a range for how widespread the disease may have been among all deceased former players. Their most conservative estimate found at least 24.5% of former NFL players who died during that period had CTE. The upper estimate reached 97.7%, though researchers said both extremes are unlikely and the true prevalence is likely somewhere in between.
"Community brain bank studies have shown that CTE affects less than 1% of the general population," said Dr. Daniel Daneshvar, lead author of the study and chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mass General Brigham. "To find that somewhere between 24.5% and 97.7% of NFL players from that time period had this progressive brain disease is a wake-up call for the NFL and scientific communities."

NEW YORK (AP) — In the opening scene of American writer Kim Stanley Robinson's "The Ministry for the Future," a heat wave combined with a breakdown of the electrical grid in India kills 20 million people. The devastation causes the world's nations to unite to combat climate change.
Scientists have long warned that the world will experience more intense extreme weather events like heat waves, storms, floods and droughts. But what once seemed like the realm of fiction is now discussed as a possibility, even an inevitability.
Warning about an "extreme of extremes" or the "Other Big One," a play off the California reference of a big future earthquake, can be fraught. After all, ***** ody can say for sure when a weather catastrophe may happen. But in the last few years, the planetary ingredients needed for a massive disturbance have been building. And alarm is growing.
"The risk is that people just think you are exaggerating," said Daniel Swain, a climate scientist with the California Institute for Water Resources. "It's the 'Boy Who Cried Wolf' problem. Sometimes wolves are real. If it's outside the door, wouldn't you want to know?"
In the 1850s, while living in Seneca Falls, New York, amateur scientist Eunice Newton Foote did a series of experiments that put different substances, including carbon dioxide and moist air, inside glass cylinders and left them in the sun. What she found was extraordinary: cylinders with carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that is released when coal, gas or oil is burned, heated up faster and took longer to cool after the sun went down.

Coy Doman, Pine View (So.)
Pine View new starting quarterback Coy Doman got off to a flying start this season.
Through two games, Doman has thrown for 857 yards and eight touchdowns with a 65.1 completion percentage.
In last week's 34-30 win over Cedar, he tossed a 21-yard TD pass to Carter Buchanan with 2:02 remaining to lead the Panthers to the come-from-behind win.
"Coy Doman is the kind of quarterback every coach wants leading his team. He is tough, competitive, intelligent and extremely coachable, and he continues to grow every week. What stands out most about Coy is his leadership and the confidence his teammates have in him," said Pine View coach Ray Hosner. "He prepares the right way, stays composed under pressure and isn't afraid to compete when the game is on the line. Coy has a very bright future, but more importantly, he is a great young man and teammate who represents Pine View Football the right way. We are fortunate to have him leading the Panthers."

Even Warren Buffett recommends this fund as a leading investment choice for most people who want exposure to the stock market. Are you looking to buy this ETF? History says it's crucial to know these three things before investing any money.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
The first thing investors need to know about the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF is that it is extremely concentrated these days. This fund tracks the S&P 500, but this benchmark is heavily skewed toward the world's most valuable businesses. The top 10 stocks in the portfolio make up 38% of the entire ETF. That means the other 490 or so companies fill out the remaining 62%.
Throughout history, there has never been a time when the S&P index was this concentrated. During the dot-com era, the top 10 stocks then represented 27% of the benchmark.

The White Sox week started by getting walked off on back-to-back nights, there was a midweek goose egg to lose a makeup game to Atlanta, and then the pitching gave up 10 runs to a Mets team that is well worse than .500. Oh, and not to mention, it's the middle of a 16-game stretch, so Chicago's pitching staff was extremely taxed.
So much so that when Will Venable was asked this week what the plan was for the North Side portion of the Crosstown Classic, he told reporters there wasn't one. I am no idiot. I know this was likely a half-truth. There had to be concepts of a plan. That plan was "The Opener."
Following a loss that was lead off by and ended by Pete Crow-Armstrong home runs, Bryan Hudson was tapped to start Tuesday's duel against the Cubs. He gave up a pair of homers in his opening inning before he turned it over to Erick Fedde for 4 2/3 innings of scoreless work. In the end, Huascar Brazobán and his one-third of an inning would be enough to lose Fedde the bid for the win and allow Alex Bregman to walk things off in the ninth.
Sean Newcomb opened the last game at Wrigley. He earned one more inning than Hudson did the day prior, keeping the game scoreless before turning things over to the bulk reliever. The strategy worked well for the White Sox, with José Urquidy going six innings and striking out eight Cubbies en route to a 3-0 victory to avoid a sweep. Sometimes veterans still have some of that young stud left in them. It's nice when they allow it to peak out in-between the past-their-prime outings.

Slough, England — Residents of the small industrial town of Slough, just west of London, told CBS News the soaring temperatures have been difficult to bear this year as Britain records its hottest summer ever. But emerging research suggests Slough may have had it particularly rough, as it sits next to the second largest data center hub on the planet.
"Slough is very hot. Every year we think this is the hottest, and then the next year it gets hotter than the last," Nabeel Nawaz, who runs a restaurant in the center of the town, told CBS News as he sweltered through a July heatwave with temperatures in the 90s.
The low hum of cooling units on Slough's massive data center hub, less than two miles from the heart of the town, provides a non-stop soundtrack for the surrounding area.
The coolers regulate the temperature of the hundreds of computer servers inside the cavernous buildings, of which there are about 40 in Slough, transferring excess heat from the machines into water or air and then venting or evaporating the heat into the atmosphere outside.
Many of the data centers around the world work this way, and all that excess heat could be creating a "heat island effect," increasing local temperatures by an average of 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit, with extreme localized temperature spikes of up to 16 degrees, according to research published by scientists at the University of Cambridge earlier this year.

The NFL is back to monopolize our minds and, in some cases, our souls. There's really no such thing as an offseason for football in America, but if you have managed to avoid the NFL machine over the past six months, I'm here to help.
The preseason is the land of possibilities, ripe territory for hot takes and predictions. None of us have any idea what will actually unfold over the next six months. If most of these preseason predictions are destined to age poorly, we should at least get a solid playlist out of it. So, I took it upon myself to project all 32 teams' definitive theme songs for the 2026 NFL season.
Consider this your guide — a cheat sheet when you need a talking point at your next watch party — before the 2026 regular-season opener between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 9. Check it out below.
The Cardinals are in denial, and the kids are suffering. Marvin Harrison Jr. has been miserable since arriving in Arizona. Trey McBride lashed out at Cardinals fans, or the lack thereof, and later retracted his criticism. We'll see what happens with rookie sensation Jeremiyah Love, but he's already hurt. In the daunting NFC West, Arizona will string its marriage of convenience with Jacoby Brissett along for one more season, and we'll see what happens in the 2027 NFL Draft.
The Falcons boast Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts Sr., an extremely talented group of offensive weapons. But with Michael Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback, it won't matter in the end. It's really sad to watch Penix Jr. and Tagovailoa's bodies betray them. It also really stinks to consider Atlanta wasting another talented roster in the quarterback wilderness and missing the playoffs for a ninth straight season.

There was a time when Evan McPherson making a 50-plus-yard field goal barely registered as news. That was the expectation.
The Bengals' kicker had established himself as one of the NFL's most dangerous long-range weapons, and there was a stretch early in his career when anything from beyond midfield felt almost automatic. He was incredible as a rookie in the team's 2021 run to Super Bowl LVI, and became one of the best young kickers in the league.
After a couple of uneven seasons, however, McPherson entered 2026 with something to prove. So far, he's doing exactly that.
McPherson continued his outstanding training camp and preseason Saturday night against the Chicago Bears, drilling both of his field-goal attempts—including a 58-yarder—and all three of his extra-point attempts in Cincinnati's second preseason game.
And that 58-yarder? It looked extremely easy, and Mike Watts on the Bengals preseason telecast referenced "Thor's Hammer" when referring to McPherson's leg.

SIOUX CITY, IA (KCAU) - Next group up for Two-A-Days is the Pender Pendragons, after a huge 9-2 2025 season after back-to-back five-win seasons in 2023 and 2024.
The Dragons got themselves to the D1 state quarterfinals before falling to Shelby-Rising City 28-6.
The 8-man squad enters the new year without two of last season's biggest offensive weapons in the run game and passing game; however, there is a large group of returners, including quarterback Zander Welsh, who had over 1,700 total yards of offense and 31 touchdowns.
This team also brings back a familiar face to the head coach position, Andy Welsh, who has served as the head coach for the boys basketball team for the last several years. With his return, this group is very excited for the guys they are putting out on the field!
"We have 33 kids on the team. We are sitting here with 12 seniors on an 8-man football team, so we have a lot of depth. Our expectations are extremely high, and the kids have been working really hard to show what we can do," said Welsh.

Donald Trump is accidentally overseeing a massive buildout of the country's renewable energy capacity and infrastructure. Not only are investments in renewable technologies soaring to new highs, the national energy grid is rapidly transforming to accommodate an increasingly solar- and wind-powered energy mix.
Despite massive rollbacks of Biden- and Obama-era clean energy incentives and financial supports, investment in clean energy tech keeps soaring to new heights, buoyed by market forces far outside of the federal government's control. Clean energy capital expenditures already reached $74 billion in the first half of 2026, and they're on track to reach a record $180 billion by the end of the year, according to fintech firm Crux's State of Clean Energy Finance: 2026 Mid-Year Market Intelligence Report.
"The market is proving resilient," Crux CEO and co-founder Alfred Johnson was recently quoted by Politico's E&E News. "We're seeing a significant amount of investment subsequent to the tax law changes of last year."
The insatiable energy demand coming from data center hyperscalers and the artificial intelligence boom has spurred a tidal wave of investment into all kinds of energy projects, and especially renewables due to their noted advantages when it comes to energy security and affordability. These advantages have been underscored in recent months by extreme volatility in fossil fuel markets thanks to the war in Iran and resultant supply chain vulnerabilities. "Renewables and storage continue to be the fastest way to get new electrons on the grid until additional gas-fired generation can be built," NextEra Energy CEO John Ketchum was recently quoted by Reuters.
As a result, we are currently "living in what arguably is one of the best periods to invest in renewables in the US over the last 20 years" according to Miguel Stilwell d'Andrade, chief executive officer of Portuguese electric utilities company EDP. Accordingly, EDP is directing approximately USD $5.3 billion – more than half of its capital expenditures – toward United States renewables projects over the next three years.

Will Howard's terrible preseason performance against the New York Jets was definitely one to forget. It was so bad that some even believed Howard threw away a roster spot with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the young quarterback doesn't seem particularly concerned about the horrendous outing.
Speaking with the media following the two-interception performance in the preseason loss, Howard downplayed his struggles and claimed that how he bounces back is all that really matters.
"If you play quarterback in the NFL, you're going to throw interceptions," Howard said. "I've played quarterback my whole life and I've thrown a lot of interceptions. It comes with the game. I feel like I've been through enough and seen enough that getting down after one pick isn't going to help anything. It's all about how you come back. Obviously, you don't wanna have a [second interception], but you gotta come back after that."
For reference, the Jets, who hadn't intercepted a pass since August 22, 2025, had a field day with Howard, picking him off not once, but twice in the span of seven minutes and thirty seconds. Howard completed 10 of 15 passes for 74 yards and two interceptions to finish out the contest.
While you love to see how well Howard is handling adversity, the mistakes against the Jets were extremely costly in the 17-0 shutout loss. So much so that it makes you wonder if Drew Allar is the only realistic successor for this team.

The quarterback competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders was already an interesting one going into the preseason matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Watson's postgame comments certainly made things more interesting following his lackluster second-half performance, in which he completed just 5 of 12 passes for 36 yards and an interception.
Watson was asked about the boos from the Cleveland crowd, and he didn't hold back when sharing his thoughts. He said, "I think the whole world knows it has nothing to do with the performance. It's a little bit more personal than that. So, I think it's a disrespectful thing." He also pointed out that he feels like he gets more support from opposing crowds on the road than he gets from the home crowd in Cleveland. He even referenced the fans who cheered when he tore his Achilles back in 2024.
While it is clear that Watson does not appreciate the response he is receiving from fans, there are larger issues that he may not be able to handle: the pressure that comes with being the quarterback of this team.
His response to the fans this week will likely only increase that response in the final preseason game. If he earns the starting job for Week 1, the boos from Cleveland fans are likely to continue. Would it be irresponsible of the coaching staff to subject the rest of the roster to an extremely hostile environment?
The Browns' offense is filled with young, exciting talent who deserve a chance to develop on this team without the pressure and criticism that comes along with having Watson as the starting quarterback.

The world's largest chipmaker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (NYSE:TSM) reported July revenue of NT$467.58 billion, or about $14.5 billion, up by 45% from a year earlier. That's actually ahead of the company's own recently raised full-year guidance of slightly above 40% growth in dollar terms. Chairman C.C. Wei called AI-related demand "extremely robust." European chip stocks, including ASML, rose on the news even as the broader PHLX Semiconductor index sits roughly 15% below its June high.
TSMC's July numbers ran ahead of its own aggressive full-year guidance right as the rest of the chip sector has been selling off on worries about AI overspending.
That raises a fair question: is TSMC proving AI demand is still real, or is one strong month masking real cracks elsewhere?
July's 44.7% growth already outpaces Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (NYSE:TSM)'s own raised guidance, which Quilter Cheviot **** yst Ben Barringer called "no mean feat," easing pressure on the rest of the summer. High-performance computing, the segment that houses AI chip production for customers like Nvidia and Google, made up 66% of TSMC's second-quarter revenue, showing AI is now the core business rather than a side bet. TSMC also raised its 2026 capital spending guidance to a record $60 billion to $64 billion, a clear signal it expects demand to keep growing rather than plateau.
Separately, TSMC and Sony are reportedly in talks to invest a combined $6.4 billion in a **** an image sensor plant targeting 2029 production, aimed at demand from AI robots and self-driving cars. It is a second long-term growth avenue beyond AI chips.

Sisterhood is winning as Anthony Edwards' baby mama celebrates another woman's court victory against the NBA star.
The NBA star received a court order to pay $14,000 monthly for child support to Alexandria Desroches. The decision has also brought Ayesha Howard back into the conversation, who got only $3,222 in her time, but she is happy for her fellow baby mama.
Anthony Edwards has four children with four different women, with all four children born between September 2023 and October 2024. The latest ruling has prompted Edward to speak up, claiming he has never met the child.

Ayesha Howard is loudly cheering on her fellow baby mama for hitting the jackpot in family court. Howard revealed that she was "extremely happy" for Alexandria Desroches and her son after they "defeated an inactive father." She also encouraged Desroches to get her money.

The Chicago Sky-Golden State Valkryries game on Friday night was interrupted in the third quarter after multiple ******* toys were thrown on to the court at Wintrust Arena.
Play was stopped as players remained on the court as the items were removed.
Sky guard Natasha Cloud sounded off on the fans who have taken part in the disruptions, calling them "lame as f***."
"That hate is unwarranted ... and it says more about the internal struggles of that individual than it ever will say about the collective group [they have a problem with]," Cloud said. "And the men that are throwing it, it shows that you are weak. Like, extremely weak. And it says a lot about how you feel about women."
It was the second consecutive night that an incident involving ******* toys being thrown onto the court delayed a WNBA game. The Atlanta Dream-Los Angeles Sparks game on Thursday in Los Angeles was halted and a male suspect was given a citation after being detained by arena security. According to The Athletic, the individual, who was released, has been banned from "all WNBA, NBA and affiliated league games and events."

UCLA Bruins' quarterback Nico Iamaleava possesses an elite combination of size and speed. Even if Iamaleava isn't the most built-out 6'5", his height allows him to see over defenders and his own offensive line.
That skillset is valuable in the college game but becomes even more important at the next level. The 2026 season will determine what the future holds for Iamaleava. With a strong season under Bob Chesney, Iamaleava could wind up hearing his name early in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Rookie Watch reported earlier this week that Iamaleava has the chance to "soar up NFL Draft boards", adding that NFL scouts have "extremely impressed" with what Iamaleava has shown thus far in training camp.
In Iamaleava's first season with UCLA, the Tennessee transfer impressed with his legs, leading the Bruins in rushing yards but Rookie Watch reported that one NFL scout stated that Iamaleava has "one of the biggest arms" in next year's class of quarterbacks.
That arm wasn't displayed enough in UCLA's offense last year. Between a dysfunctional offensive line and an overall lack of offensive cohesion, Iamaleava didn't have too many chances to show off his right arm.

Treasury data confirmed last night that U.S. national debt now stands at $40 trillion, with the government now expected to spend more than $1 trillion in interest on the debt in the fiscal year of 2026.
Debt hawks have been warning policymakers for some time that the nation's fiscal path is unsustainable, and the issue is increasingly rising up voters' agendas in the run-up to midterms later this year.
A new report from The Conference Board throws the issue into a new light for consumers: The potential impact on their personal finances if policymakers continue borrowing at the current pace.
The Conference Board modeled a series of scenarios: Baseline (using Congressional Budget Office data based on current trends), a good-case (in which federal deficits are cut roughly in half, in line with current targeting proposals), and a bad-case (in which deficit levels grow to 9% of GDP rather than the current 6% to 7%).
The Conference Board also modeled two financial crisis scenarios—a default and an interest rate shock—which economists like Bridgewater ****** ociates founder Ray Dalio have long been concerned about.
Even dismissing the most extreme negative outcomes, consumers still stand to lose thousands if policymakers don't act to reduce spending.
For example, the report models a family saving to buy a $600,000 house in either 5 or 10 years, with a 20% down payment and a 30-year fixed mortgage. The report does not provide a methodology for calculating rates offered in 2031 and 2036, but concludes that total payments over three decades for a home bought in 2031 come to $2.89m, and $2.8m in 2036.
