From time to time, it can feel like a lot of our most beloved celebrities and historical figures are dying at the same time. It has happened so often that now people expect famous people to die in threes, even when there's no reason for that.
And while all deaths are equally sad, it's true that some of them get way more media coverage and reactions, especially in the modern internet era. Looking through history, you might notice that some figures didn't get the homages they deserved only because another, more relevant figure happened to die on the same day.
So, here are some historical deaths overshadowed by other, more important deaths.

Phoebe Dynevor became internationally famous through Bridgerton, and that sudden success also brought increased attention to her personal life. The British actress has experienced everything from relatively private relationships to a highly publicized romance followed by photographers and tabloids. Rapper Nicki Minaj publicly endorsed US President Donald Trump at a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, 25 October, ahead of the November midterm elections. After travelling aboard Air Force One, the Trinidadian-born artist joined him on stage, telling the crowd "We love Trump" and promising to support him "forever".
Nicki Minaj's increasingly public support for Donald Trump represents a notable political shift for a rapper whose provocative performances and **** ually explicit lyrics have often sparked controversy.

Adrianne Curry blasted Victoria's Secret for the runway appearances of Kylie Jenner and Alex Consani at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
During a YouTube live stream on Monday (Oct. 19), the 44-year-old America's Next Top Model season one winner criticized the brand's direction and shared her frustrations alleging the brand selects established celebrities and influencers over unknown talent and models.

When did we lose the art of enjoyment? These days, the average person loves a think piece—specifically, having their own and putting it out there for the world to see. It stems from this new access we have on the internet to each other. On ****** es like TikTok, Instagram, and X and Threads, we can reach beyond our narrow circles into the phones of literally anyone else. Out of this environment, we've normalized an even more extreme parasocial nature between celebrities, influencers, and each other. The new internet landscape involves users ****** yzing and critiquing anyone who chooses to try or put themselves out there, serving as amateur publicists, stylists, and brand-image architects. There's an element of this new world order that's thrilling—our opinions matter! But...what's that phrase about opinions again?
I'd argue that we've critiqued ourselves into mass hysteria, conflating personal opinion with expertise. Just because someone has something to say doesn't mean they actually know what they're saying. There once was a time when people took the time to learn, gain experience, and work in a specific field so they're equipped to handle certain industries. But now, everyone simply thinks they know enough about everything. And it's making fashion and entertainment commentary less fun for everyone involved.
Over the last few weeks, with Fashion Month, the Emmys, and the VMAs, we were inundated with sartorial opinions on the internet. Top of mind for me was Shailene Woodley's Emmys look.

Celebrity comedian Sebastian Maniscalco has responded to this week's uproar in the comedy community over his takeover of a SiriusXM channel that for years supported up-and-coming stand-ups while providing them a minor lifeline in royalty checks. He joins the broadcaster in ****** uring those up in arms over the station's disappearance that the company axed it well before the superstar took over.
In April, Maniscalco's Comedy Radio replaced SiriusXM's Channel 99, the longtime home of the Raw Comedy/Raw Dog channel, a small corner of the satellite radio giant where up-and-coming comedians could not only launch their careers but make a few bucks doing it. SiriusXM replaced the "jukebox channel," which rotated sets from comics and had no host, with one now "curated and headlined by Maniscalco" that features mostly mainstream and well-known talent. The uproar came this week when the advocacy group Stand Up for Standup and big-name comedians like Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho and Michelle Wolf took to social media to ask Maniscalco to bring Raw Comedy back to the platform. Ukraine on Thursday accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians after 30 people were killed when two buses were blown up in the frontline city of Kramatorsk, in one of the deadliest single attacks for weeks.
Photos posted by local authorities showed the burnt-out metal shell of the vehicles, with the blurred-out images of bodies and debris strewn across the road.
Police said the buses were hit with a glide bomb.
The strikes come just a day after five children were among 22 killed when a Russian missile struck a five-storey apartment block in Pryluky, in the northern Chernigiv region.
"The Russians are deliberately targeting civilians," Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin said, accusing Moscow of flouting "every conceivable rule of warfare and norm of international humanitarian law".

Barry Keoghan has built a career by choosing characters that are rarely easy to understand. A difficult childhood in Dublin shaped his early years, while an unexpected opportunity introduced him to acting. Since then, Keoghan has developed into an internationally recognized performer with roles spanning independent dramas, major blockbusters and psychological thrillers.
Born in Dublin, Keoghan experienced considerable instability while growing up. His mother struggled with drug addiction and died when he was young, and he and his brother spent several years in foster care before being raised largely by their grandmother and aunt. Sophie Okonedo is one of my favourite celebrities, so I was delighted to see her back on the red carpet for the Clarissa press tour. However, while looking back at her appearances today, I realised that I completely missed her at the film's Cannes Film Festival premiere. So that is where I'm going to start.

Since Sophie has always had an affinity for simple silhouettes with dramatic accents, this custom Dior feather-trimmed dress made perfect sense for her.
What I appreciate most is that the feathers aren't treated as an embellishment confined to one area. They trace the asymmetric neckline before sweeping around the skirt and into the train, giving the black dress the kind of personality Sophie's red carpet looks tend to have. It's glamorous, but still feels entirely within her wheelhouse.
I think the new hair colour and style may have been the reason she slipped under my radar in Cannes. I'm so accustomed to seeing Sophie with her signature cornrows that I genuinely didn't recognise her at first.

Costco is famously rooted in Washington state, with its headquarters in Kirkland (which is also the name of its signature brand) and its first official store operating out of Seattle's industrial SoDo neighborhood. But did you know that the wholesale club behemoth can trace its true origins much further south, and to a famous connection? As it turns out, a line can be drawn from Costco to Howard Hughes, the famous movie producer, aviator, and eccentric business tycoon.
Among his many properties, Hughes once owned a rather large warehouse in San Diego, California, that was eventually turned into an early wholesale store called Price Club. It went on to merge with Costco in the 1990s, forever cementing the Costco-Hughes connection. While it's unclear exactly how long Howard Hughes' San Diego building served as a hangar, or if any remodeling was done prior to its wholesale club days, what is known is that it reopened as Price Club in the summer of 1976 after being purchased by local businessman Sol Price and his son, Robert. It looks pretty similar today compared to old photos of the building in its Price Club days and as an aviation hangar, with its vaulted ceilings and massive walls. The coolest part though? If you're a history buff in San Diego, you can actually go shop at the Costco that once housed Hughes' airplanes (assuming you're also a Costco member, of course). The store sits on Morena Boulevard, at the exact same address as its preceding incarnations.

A recent candid photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry going on a lunch date has sparked fresh debate online. The images show the couple holding hands in the Cotswolds, and while most saw a normal couple spending time together, one commentator sees something else in them. He questions how the pictures came about and what they might signal about the Sussexes.
Commentator Link Lauren shared his views in a video clip posted on X where he spoke about the couple's "romantic pub date" and their "first photos together since UK return." Lauren questioned how the photos were taken. "You want me to believe that a photographer just happened to catch you on a little date night in the Cotswolds?" he asked. He said Meghan Markle "allegedly" arranges such moments and also remarked that her face looked "a little bit facetuned."
He then offered his own theory. In his view, the couple licensed the pictures to an agency. "That's what I believe," he said. The commentator also looked at the photographer's website. He said it invites visitors to "earn money" by sending in celebrity photos, videos, and tips. He went on to suggest that Meghan may have even worked with the photographer.
The source noted his interpretation of the strain between the couple. Lauren pointed to Prince Harry's schedule, saying that the Duke of Sussex has appeared at several charity events without Meghan in recent times. "It's pretty much known across the UK at this point in aristocratic circles and the press. They are conscious uncoupling," he claimed.
As a result, Lauren argued that the hand-holding photos were a response to this. Meghan, he said, wanted to be seen "staking her claim" over her husband. Lauren also pointed to the couple's reported plans to split time between the UK and the US. He said that this arrangement made the public display of unity more notable.
