WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella revealed that she suffered a broken scapula during her SummerSlam 2026 match and will be sidelined from the ring indefinitely as she recovers.
Bella announced the injury update in a Monday, Aug. 3 Instagram post and noted she will be out "for a bit" without specifying an exact time frame. She was injured during a six-person tag team match featuring her sister, Nikki, and Paige against Fatal Influence during the first night of SummerSlam on Saturday, Aug. 1.
After the event, WWE chief content officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque initially said the injury "seems pretty bad" and Bella had been taken to a local hospital for more examination.
SUMMERSLAM 2026 MATCH GRADES: Ranking all 12 matches, best to worst
"I wanted to thank you all for sending me all the love, warm wishes and prayers. When I was sitting in the hospital, I was reading everything you guys were sending my way, love you all!!!," Bella wrote via social media. "... If there's one thing I know about my sister and I is that we don't let broken bones stop us. Not sure how I finished that match, but I do believe between the adrenaline, passion for the business and the love for all the women I work with, it gave me the drive to finish. Now my new journey starts!!"

Arsenal Women's Under-21s defeated London Bees 1-0 in an encouraging pre-season friendly, a match that proved to be a classic game of two halves.
Arsenal controlled the opening period before London Bees enjoyed the better of the second half. The only goal came from England Under-17 international Cairo Antoine, who finished after an excellent diagonal pass from centre-back Millie Marriott.
Watching the game were England Under-19 manager John Solomon, along with first-team youngster Sophie Harwood.
There was no team sheet available for the ****** nal Under-21 side, which is standard for PGA Academy fixtures. The recognisable faces included players who have trained with the first team, such as Bella Cowley and Marriott, as well as England Under-17 international Antoine. Amy Liddiard, who has previously been included in the first-team squad and came close to making her senior debut as a substitute in the Champions League last season, also featured and kept a clean sheet.
There are areas in which the first team could strengthen, but the question remains whether these academy players, some of whom already have first-team training experience, are ready to make the step up.

MINNEAPOLIS — WWE star Brie Bella suffered a shoulder injury during SummerSlam 2026 and "it seems pretty bad," WWE chief content officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque said Saturday night.
Bella, the WWE Hall of Famer, was injured in the six-person tag team match with sister Nikki and Paige against Fatal Influence during SummerSlam 2026 night one on Aug. 1.
Though nothing is known definitively at this time, it appears Brie Bella was injured when Jacy Jayne did a dive on her against the steel steps on her right shoulder. Bella was holding it for the rest of the match, and even after the loss, when her and her sister turned on Paige, Bella couldn't take part in the attack.
After the event, Levesque confirmed Bella suffered an injury that required her to be taken to a local hospital.
"Don't have a clean answer on it yet. I know she hurt her shoulder. Seems pretty bad, but I don't have that answer yet," he said. "Hopefully we will soon, and hopefully it won't be as bad as we thought it was, but that's the nature of the game.

On Friday night, Boston turned to JC Higginbotham in net, who delivered in his first start of the season, helping the Cannons to an 11-7 win over the Archers in Columbus and snapping Utah's four-game win streak.
After Colin Kirst posted save percentages below 50% over the previous three games, head coach Brian Holman made the decision earlier in the week to startHigginbotham.
"Part of this job that I absolutely detest is doing what I had to do this week," Holman said. "But at the end of the day, my job is to help these guys be in the best position they could possibly be to compete for a championship."
It was just the third PLL appearance and first start for Higginbotham, who went undrafted out of Bellarmine in 2024.
The move paid off early as the 25-year-old stopped four shots in the opening minutes, weathering an aggressive Archers attack and helping Boston find its footing.

Those hoping for some positive momentum with the ongoing contract negotiations between the New England Patriots and Christian Gonzalez might come away feeling disappointed with the latest update.
According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the two sides "aren't close" in contract negotiations. Granted, Breer did acknowledge that things could quickly change. He also continued to suggest that Gonzalez's tactics could potentially be in line with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon, with whom he shares the same agent.
Breer thinks both players are looking for a market-setting deal from their respective teams.
"No, they aren't close right now. That doesn't mean it can't change quickly. These things can change fast," Breer said on NBC Sports Boston's Arbella Early Edition. "I think it is a gesture of good faith that he is practicing, but I think both of these guys are looking for the same thing, which is a market setter on every measure."
Gonzalez has been a full participant at training camp practice despite the ongoing contract negotiations.

Katie Nolan seems about as excited to call Boomer Esiason a colleague as Frank Isola was when Kenny Beecham joined SiriusXM Radio earlier this year.
Last week, Audacy announced a new partnership to make WFAN and 41 other local radio stations available on SiriusXM, which means Esiason's morning show with co-host Gregg Giannotti will soon be heard on satellite radio in addition to their usual platforms. Esiason and Giannotti will not be broadcasting their show from SiriusXM, and they won't be SiriusXM employees, but the new partnership between Audacy and SiriusXM is enough for Katie Nolan to kinda sorta call them colleagues. For Nolan and her producer Isabella Joson, that's a bad thing.
"You and your arch-nemesis are going to be co-workers," Nolan told Joson. "Of course we're referring to Boomer Esason. Isabella, not a huge fan."
Nolan hosts Casuals on Mad Dog Sports Radio as a lead-in to The Stephen A. Smith Show. And to welcome Esiason to SiriusXM, Nolan played back some of the former NFL MVP's more polarizing takes, pretending HR wanted to make sure Joson would be able to maintain a safe workplace environment with their new colleague.
Nolan began with Esiason calling Chinese-American freestyle skier Eileen Gu "insufferable" after watching her at the Olympics earlier this year. From there, they played Esiason saying "pipe down" and "respect the flag" in response to Olympic athletes speaking out against ICE and the Trump administration. Nolan also went back to late last year, where Esiason reacted to Yankees radio voice Dave Sims cutting a promo for Dude Wipes by suggesting a Vagisil endorsement for Suzyn Waldman.

A featherweight clash between Patricio Pitbull and Doo Ho Choi is on for UFC 331 on Sept. 19; multiple people with knowledge of the situation confirmed the news to MMA Fighting.
The numbered event will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The promotion has yet to announce the headlining attraction for UFC 331.
Pitbull (37-9) attempts to rebound from a decision defeat to Aaron Pico in April, a result that dropped his UFC record to 1-2.
The Brazilian is a former two-division champion in Bellator, going 24-6 in that company before joining the UFC, and is currently ranked No. 15 on the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Pitbull's lone UFC victory was a decision over Dan Ige.
Choi (17-4-1) won three straight since 2024, stopping Bill Algeo and Nate Landwehr that year before coming back to action this past May to score a knockout and earn a $50,000 check for a "Fight of the Night" win over Daniel Santos.

Jonathan Di Bella knows “Fighting Rooster” Zhang Peimian is not the same striker he defeated nearly four years ago.
The reigning ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion expects the Chinese challenger to be sharper and fueled by revenge when they run back their unforgettable five-round battle in the main event of The Inner Circle 22.
But Di Bella believes the same thing will apply to him when he steps into the ring for the blockbuster rematch, which streams live from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium via live.onefc.com on Friday, July 17.
The 29-year-old kingpin said:
“It’s an exciting fight. Zhang is an exciting fighter, and it’s an exciting fight for the fans. The first one was fire, and this one will be fire as well.”

ONE Championship returns to Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, July 17, with another exclusive card for members of The Inner Circle, streaming live at live.onefc.com.
A ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World ****** le rematch four years in the making tops a card that also features the world's top-ranked women's no-gi grappler and one of ****** an's most dangerous kickboxers hunting a path back to another shot at gold.
In the main event, Jonathan Di Bella makes the first defense of his ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World ****** le against Zhang Peimian in a rematch of the fight that started it all.
Di Bella, the son of Kickboxing Champion Angelo Di Bella, grew up on the mats of his family's Montreal gym, and turned pro at 20 after going 20-0 as a junior and amateur. He has since become a four-time World Champion with one of the highest significant strike outputs in ONE kickboxing history, setting records for the most strikes landed in a single fight during his unification win over Prajanchai PongSuphan PK last October — a performance that left no doubt about who the best strawweight in the world is.
Zhang was 60 seconds away from derailing all of that at ONE 162 in 2022. The young Chinese fighter from rural Guangxi — who grew up chopping sugar cane and cutting rice on his family farm before his headteacher introduced him to martial arts — had led on all three scorecards heading into the final minute of the final round, only for Di Bella to produce a clutch head kick knockdown that ****** ed the ****** le.

The last time "Fighting Rooster" Zhang Peimian faced Jonathan Di Bella, he was 19 years old, fighting for a World ******* le, and not yet ready for everything that came with it.
Nearly four years later, that version of him no longer exists.
On Friday, July 17, Zhang will challenge the reigning ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion for the gold in the main event of The Inner Circle 22, which goes down live at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. It will stream exclusively for members via live.onefc.com.
The rematch is more than three and a half years in the making, and the Chinese fighter stepping into the ring this time is a fundamentally different competitor from the teenager who walked into the vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World ******* le clash at ONE 162 in October 2022.
The first encounter was a genuine five-round war. Zhang, who was already considered one of the most gifted young strikers in the organization, went toe-to-toe with the Italian-Canadian southpaw and made him work for every inch. His trademark left hook and low kicks found a home on Di Bella throughout the contest.

Radio DJ Greg James has revealed he was worried that he'd been scammed with a "fake" invite to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ, whom the singer informally invited to the wedding live on air in October, returned to his breakfast show on Wednesday morning and divulged details about attending the ceremony at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Friday.
Greg told listeners he received the official invite "in the form of a link" while scrolling through his phone as he went to the bathroom in the middle of the night on 12 March.
However, because all of the communications were "electronic", Greg worried he might have been sent a "fake" as a prank, and he wasn't sure if the invite was real until the wedding day itself.
"Honestly, until we were in there, there was a huge part... (wife) Bella (Mackie) and I were like, 'This could be a scam,'" he said. "Until we were in, we were like, 'We might have made a big trip for nothing here.'"
Greg also admitted that he felt like he was in Madame Tussauds wax museum because there were A-list celebrities everywhere he looked.

Former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold cleared waivers on Monday, making him a free agent who is eligible to sign with another team in the NFL.
More: Former Lion Terrion Arnold contacted by 3 NFL teams after team release: attorney
Arnold, 23, was released by the Lions on June 29 after he was arrested in connection to an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping that occurred in February.
Arnold posted a $1 million bond and was released from the Hillsborough County Jail on June 30 after a judge denied the prosecution’s motion to keep him detained without bail.
The prosecution also pushed for Arnold to have a GPS tether, an effort denied by Chief Judge Christopher Sabella after Arnold’s defense argued a tether would interfere with his ability to play football.

It's been seven years since one of the most memorable knockouts in UFC history — and for now, the fastest.
In the featured fight on the main card at UFC 329, which took place July 6, 2019, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Jorge Masvidal put away Ben Askren in 5 seconds to set the new promotional standard for fastest finish.
Masvidal went straight to the center of the cage and launched a flying knee, and it was on the ******* on. Askren, a former champion with Bellator and ONE Championship, never had lost a fight until then, let alone been put away. He came in 19-0 after a win in his UFC debut over ex-welterweight champ Robbie Lawler earlier in 2019.
But after Askren was starched by Masvidal, he fought just once more in the UFC – a submission loss to Demian Maia – before he left the sport. He boxed Jake Paul in 2021, but was knocked out in the first round. Most notably, though, he had a medical emergency a year ago that left him in a coma for more than six weeks, but his miraculous recovery continues, and may even continue to include competition.
For Masvidal, the win was in the midst of a one-year superstar run that saw him finish Darren Till, Askren and Nate Diaz – the latter of which won him the inaugural BMF ******* le. But after that, he lost four straight in the UFC and is inactive in MMA. He's competed in boxing, grappling and has his own promotion.

Former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has cleared waivers and is now an NFL free agent.
The Lions released Arnold on June 29 after his June 24 arrest in connection to a robbery and kidnapping case in Florida. A former first-round pick of the Lions in the 2024 NFL Draft, Arnold played in 24 games and started 22 during his two seasons in Detroit.
Arnold totaled 91 tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
In his pre-trial detention hearing on June 29, Arnold was granted a $1 million bond. Chief Judge Christopher C. Sabella also denied the state's request to require Arnold to wear a GPS ankle monitor during that pre-trial detention hearing.
As other conditions from his pre-trial detention hearing, Arnold is not allowed contact with the six co-defendants or the witnesses in the case, and he was ordered confined to his residence in Tallahassee, Florida, except when he would be playing, training and traveling with an NFL team, or making court-related appearances or legal appointments.

Kentucky basketball is still living in the urgency of the 2027 recruiting cycle, but Mark Pope’s staff is not recruiting with tunnel vision. The Wildcats are already looking further down the road. That is where Liam Mitakaro enters the picture.
Mitakaro, a 2028 guard out of Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona, has become one of the more compelling young names on the national board. The 6-foot-4, 175-pound playmaker is currently rated by 247Sports as the No. 29 overall player in the country, the No. 4 combo guard nationally, and the No. 2 player in Arizona for his class.
That ranking is strong. It also may not hold high enough for long. Kentucky’s offer puts the Wildcats into one of the faster-rising recruitments of the summer. Mitakaro already has offers from Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kansas, Syracuse, and others, while programs such as Texas, UCLA, Oregon, Cal, UNLV, Oklahoma State, and Arizona State have also been around the conversation. The board is getting crowded because the film is not difficult to understand.
Mitakaro looks like a guard built for where basketball is going.
At 6-foot-4, he has the kind of positional size that changes the math. He can see over smaller defenders, pass over pressure, and finish through angles that shorter guards do not always have. But the size is only part of the story. What makes him different is how he moves with it.
