Unleash the AI agents, says Circle (CRCL) co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire.
"We think that there will eventually be billions of agents providing work and labor, and they'll be able to be orchestrated and integrated within a firm and across firm boundaries," Allaire said on Yahoo Finance's Opening Bid (see video above). "And this is an incredible time for entrepreneurs, for startups, for builders who are going to be able to tap into these agent labor markets to get things done and accelerate their own development and growth."
Allaire is aggressively using AI agents alongside human workers to help scale up its stablecoin business.
"AI and humans can interact directly through messaging environments like Slack, but also can interact between each other and communicate between each other directly," Allaire explained. "And so the thing that we're doing at Circle is we're asking all of our employees to be part of crafting this and building this. And this is, I think, incredibly exciting because we want our employees to have the superpowers of fleets of agents that they can use themselves to amplify their own capabilities. So this is an opportunity to multiply the capabilities of a firm and of humans themselves."
Circle just dropped a second quarter that was good enough to send the stock higher — but not so clean that the bulls can declare total victory. Hence, the stock is down 2% in Wednesday's trading.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs were among the teams that reached out to veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs before his signing with the Washington Commanders on August 5.
Diggs — who rose to prominence as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and New England Patriots — was among the top free agents available as teams around the NFL began their training camps in July.
Schefter revealed Kansas City's interest in Diggs during an August 6 appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. A video of his comments was shared to Twitter by McAfee's official account:
A seasoned veteran, Diggs has been a Pro Bowl selection four times in his career and earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2020 after leading the NFL in receptions and receiving yards.

Perez Hilton's family and team has shared an update on his wellbeing.
The gossip blogger has been hospitalized after going live on TikTok and appearing to show self harming efforts. Hours after he received medical attention, his staff and family posted an update to his website PerezHilton.com.
In a statement, they wrote, "Many of you have reached out with concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers. We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family's focus right now is on his well-being.
"We kindly ask that you respect Perez's privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time," the statement continued. "If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support. – The Perez Hilton Team and Family."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Aaron Donald formally worked out for the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, presumably taking one of the final steps before the superstar defensive tackle decides whether to end his 2 1/2-year retirement.
The 35-year-old Donald participated in a hosted workout with the Rams, according to the league's official transaction wire, which records such workouts with free agents before their possible signings to NFL rosters.
Donald has been working out at the Rams' Woodland Hills training complex and at home for several weeks in his attempt to return to NFL shape. While the Rams have emphasized their willingness to wait indefinitely for Donald to decide, coach Sean McVay has expressed cautious optimism in the past week about the prospect of lining up Donald and Myles Garrett together this season on a remarkable defensive line.
"If there's an arrow, it's trending upwards," McVay said last Friday.
McVay indicated that the Rams didn't expect a decision until after they wrap up training camp at Loyola Marymount University this week. The Rams are planning to reconvene in Woodland Hills on Saturday for their first post-camp practice.

The last remaining Denver Broncos unrestricted free agent has found a new NFL home.
Five months after initially hitting free agency in March, veteran center Sam Mustipher has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to the NFL's transaction wire. Jacksonville will mark the 29-year-old lineman's sixth NFL club.
Mustipher was called on late in the 2025 season and again in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs after the Broncos had multiple injuries at the position. Luke Wattenberg is currently nursing an injury, but he's set to start in 2026 with Alex Forsyth, Michael Deiter, Gavin Ortega and Calvin Throckmorton providing depth behind him this summer.
With Mustipher back on an NFL roster, only Denver's six ex-practice squad players whose contracts expired in March remain street free agents.

The Cincinnati Reds sat idle for almost the entire run-up to the August 3rd trade deadline. As the final hour neared, though, they managed to make a few moves at the periphery of their roster to keep the day from being a total shutout.
To Cleveland went 1B/DH Nathaniel Lowe, with 19 year old pitcher Alejandro Rivera coming back to Cincinnati as the return. Rivera is still incredibly far off in terms of a big league opportunity, but he boasts a wealth of talent – not bad considering Lowe came into camp on a minor league deal to begin the year.
Shortly afterwards, the Reds announced they'd picked up $250,000 of international bonus pool money from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for veteran lefty reliever Caleb Ferguson.
Eugenio Suarez did not get moved, nor did starter Brady Singer. The Reds held on to those pending free agents as well as the likes of Pierce Johnson and Brock Burke, too. They even held on to catcher Tyler Stephenson despite the mid-season trade market for catchers being as active as I can remember.

The injury bug bit the Atlanta Falcons right in the rear end on Tuesday, with edge rusher Jalon Walker suffering a season-ending ACL tear at their latest training camp practice.
The blow is particularly brutal to the team's edge unit, which was already expecting a TBD suspension for James Pearce Jr. that could sideline him for a significant portion of the 2026 season.
According to ESPN, the Falcons were already looking for pass-rushing help before Walker's injury, so we can safely ******* ume that they're going to sign somebody. The only question is if they'll just sign a body to fill the roster spot, or if they'll actually spend to bring in a pass rusher who could make a difference.
Here are three free agents who could help Atlanta with Walker and Pearce out.
If the Falcons want to go the familiar face route, their best option will be to bring back Leonard Floyd, who spent the 2025 season in Atlanta. His pass rushing numbers weren't up to his usual standard (3.5 sacks, 11 QB hits), but keep in mind he was only on the field for 49% of the team's defensive snaps last year. With a larger role in the absence of Walker and Pearce, he could get back to posting the kind of numbers he did with the 49ers in 2024 - when he totaled 8.5 sacks and 16 quarterback hits.

Samantha Morton just revealed why Hollywood stopped calling after The Odyssey. The actress opened up about industry challenges and a painful past firing in a candid new interview.
Samantha Morton recently revealed she hasn't worked for a year since filming Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Morton played Circe, a witch and goddess on the island of Aeaea, in the epic film. She spoke about her career challenges on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
"I haven't worked for a year since making The Odyssey," Morton said on the podcast. She noted that she has "really good agents and a manager." However, she acknowledged the shifting landscape of the entertainment industry. "But at the end of the day, I'm 49. I do believe I'm a good actor, [but] there are other good actors out there," she continued. She added, "The politics of the industry has changed massively."
Morton also discussed being replaced in Spike Jonze's 2013 film Her. She originally read lines on set opposite Joaquin Phoenix for the voice **** istant character Samantha. Scarlett Johansson's voice ultimately replaced Morton's performance in post-production.
"I think my version of Samantha was very… she's English," Morton explained. She praised her replacement, saying, "Scarlett Johansson has a beautiful voice. She's incredibly evocative." The biggest moves of the NBA offseason, by and large, have been completed.
There are still a few key free agents and moves that need to be made, yes, but the calendar is settling into something of a summer lull. And, not surprisingly, this offseason did not lack monumental moves.
None were bigger than trades that brought Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat and Jaylen Brown to the 76ers. Joining Brown in Philadelphia, no less, is LeBron James, who will be joining his fourth different team in his 24th NBA season. There's plenty to sort through.
Here are grades for every NBA team's offseason:
Mitchell Robinson is a solid addition. He'll bolster the low-post defense and will provide a spark without demanding the ball on offense. Can he be dependably available as a starter? That remains to be seen. The bigger problem here was the team's move to ship Jaylen Brown.

"I ***** love Foucault. I ***** with Foucault hard," enthused Supriya Ganesh, star of The Pitt, in a recent interview with New York magazine. Ganesh, who uses she/they ***** ouns, never felt comfortable with rigid gender and ***** uality labels, and Foucault's The History of ***** uality, Volume I showed her how these categories have in fact varied across cultures and through history: "I think this idea of defining ***** uality is very new—or at least that's the argument he's making … it really illuminated a lot of that for me."
Ganesh was unwittingly providing fresh evidence for the central argument of The Frenchmen: Or, My Life in Theory, which proposes that a small group of dead twentieth-century intellectuals are "crucial for understanding the world we inhabit today." Written by Emily Eakin, a senior editor at The New York Times Book Review, The Frenchmen focuses on eight French or French-speaking theorists (Louis Althusser, Roland Barthes, Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault, Félix Guattari, Jacques Lacan, and Paul de Man) who, she argues, "permanently alter[ed] how we think not only about bedrock philosophical ideas but about the role of language in shaping those beliefs and everything else."
Eakin's Frenchmen are an eclectic group, differing in interests, politics, and methods. Two were practicing psychoanalysts. Most were academics, working in fields including philosophy, linguistics, semiotics, anthropology, history, and comparative literature. They wrote on topics as varied as schizophrenia, prison architecture, photography, Edgar Allan Poe, and (in Barthes's case) their mom. What unites them, according to Eakin, is their emphasis on systems, as opposed to individuals, and their attention to the complex and contradictory ways that language operates. Instead of taking for granted (as the existentialists did) that people are autonomous free agents defined by their choices, they wrote about the ways people and texts are created and constrained by powerful yet unstable structures of knowledge and language—an idea that resonates in our era of inescapable algorithms and artificial intelligence. ("Chatbots frighten us," Eakin writes, "to the degree that they make literal theory's suggestion that thought does not require a human thinker.")
"Deconstruction," an ***** ytical method developed by Derrida, came to define French theory and is at the heart of Eakin's book. She defines it as "a style of reading" that "took apart" a text and left it in pieces, showing how it was undone by its own internal contradictions. A common deconstructive move is to show how the binary terms that a text's argument depends on—for example, speech versus writing—are not actually opposed after all. WASHINGTON (AP) — An ******* ociation of thousands of FBI agents and other groups are backing a lawsuit filed by three bureau employees who were fired last year for their roles in an investigation into President Donald Trump's efforts to undo the results of the 2020 presidential election.
A legal brief by the FBI Agents ******* ociation is one of five filed by outside parties in the last week in support of the agents, who were terminated as part of a broader personnel purge by FBI Director Kash Patel that has targeted employees who investigated Trump or are perceived as being against the administration's interest.
Taken together, the filings, including from former FBI and Justice Department alumni, underscore a concerted and bipartisan pushback to the waves of terminations that have roiled the FBI in the last year and a half as Patel has sought to remake the bureau in his own image.
The briefs argue that the firings were illegal because the agents were denied due process and punished for perceived political affiliation, and say the terminations contradict decades of expectations that the bureau's "apolitical, professional career corps of agents" can work on sensitive cases without putting their careers at risk.
"The Bureau simply cannot function if individual Special Agents must choose whether to accept a lawful ******* ignment that could later get them fired, or alternatively to reject it and become subject to firing for insubordination. Rotherham United have signed former Dunfermline Athletic defenders Ewan Otoo and Kieran Ngwenya on two-year deals.
The duo, both 23, were free agents after leaving the Scottish Championship side at the end of last season.
Otoo joined the Pars from Celtic on an initial loan deal in February 2023 and made a total of 88 league appearances, while Ngwenya started his career at Aberdeen before moving to East End Park in June 2024, making a total of 61 appearances.
Their arrivals bring the Millers, who were relegated to League Two last season, up to eight summer signings.
The pair could both make their competitive debuts for the club in Saturday's EFL Cup first-round tie against West Bromwich Albion.

The Miami Dolphins opened training camp last week after re-signing some of their own free agents this offseason and watching others depart for opportunities with different team, while there are still quite a few members of their 2025 roster waiting for another chance.
However, that list shrunk by one on Monday, as former Dolphins offensive lineman Kendall Lamm agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.
Lamm, 34, joined the Dolphins in 2022 after stints with the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee ***** ans and Detroit Lions. Three years later, he left for an offseason stay with the Philadelphia Eagles last year before re-signing with Mike McDaniel's team for their 2025 campaign.
Over four seasons with the Dolphins, Lamm served as their swing tackle, appearing in 46 games and starting 16 for the club.
After what Miami's offense reportedly looked like without right tackle Austin Jackson for a portion of practice on Monday, they could've used Lamm back this year. Maybe they'll get lucky and see him get cut again before Week 1.

But this type of thinking is why you just don't rush out and spend on just any remaining free agent. While the Heat are only about $10 million under their hard cap, the introduction of salary currently on the Heat roster could widen that spending breadth when it comes to trades. The reason you rush out to sign certain free agents is the belief you simply have to have that player. The Heat's approach at the moment seems to be patience for the right move, rather than just any move.

The Eagles were looking to bolster their secondary, and yes, some conversations mentioned the City of Brotherly Love as a logical landing spot. He and Philadelphia's leadership even enjoyed a virtual interview once, but it wasn't meant to be. Mathieu ultimately chose to return home, signing a three-year, $28.3 million contract with the New Orleans Saints. Philadelphia ultimately pivoted, adding C.J. Gardner-Johnson instead. There isn't anyone in the Delaware valley who doesn't know how all of that worked out in the end.
Matthieu is now retired and co-hosting the In The Bayou With Tyrann Mathieu podcast. He admitted that joining Philadelphia was something he seriously considered before deciding on New Orleans.
The decision appeared understandable at the time. Returning to Louisiana allowed Mathieu to play for his hometown team, while the Saints believed they could remain competitive in the NFC.

While the front office continued weighing ways to improve the roster for the 2027 season, it appeared to be set on selling expiring contracts for future talent. The team traded away pending free agents Kevin Gausman and Daulton Varsho, and it also shipped off veteran reliever Jeff Hoffman even though he has another year under contract ahead.

Hoffman had already experienced a whirlwind baseball journey before arriving in Toronto. He was drafted in the first round by the Blue Jays before debuting with the Colorado Rockies and struggling to meet expectations.

Yan Diomande's anticipated move to Real Madrid remains incomplete. RB Leipzig managing director Marcel Schäfer has confirmed that the deal is not yet finalized, while also making clear that there is no uncertainty over who currently represents the player.
"It's clear that some so-called transfer experts reported a few days ago that the deal was done or gave it the 'here we go.' That's simply not the case. We're not at that stage yet," Schäfer told Sky Sports Germany.
He was asked if the transfer could fall through if there was a dispute regarding the player's proper agency.
"From my perspective, it's a clear no. I'm not aware of that. There has been a change of agents. Our point of contact is now Roc Nation – that's something Yan made very clear to us. I don't think a transfer would fall through because of that, if it even comes to a transfer in the first place," the Lepzig managing director said, as reported by Phillip Hinze of Sky Sports.

Things are about to get physical down in Flowery Branch, with the Atlanta Falcons set to hold their first padded training camp practice on Monday morning at IBM Performance Field.
"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face," Mike Tyson famously said, and those words are perhaps even truer in the NFL. There have been many talented players who looked great until they felt the sting of an NFL hit.
The Falcons have a handful young players fighting for roster spots, including a several undrafted free agents, and these padded practices present both a challenge and an opportunity for them to show they won't cave under pressure.
Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (knee) has yet to be cleared for contact, and while Tua Tagovailoa (back) is trending in the right direction, we'll have to wait and see if he returns to team drills.

A: Keshad Johnson remains an interesting case study, considering all the time he has spent around Heat players as well as in South Florida this summer. For now, it appears that the preference is to sign a pair of contributing veterans into the two remaining standard roster spots they plan to fill ahead of the season. However, Keshad remains an option for a Heat two-way contract, should he choose to accept such a deal after playing on a standard deal. So, for now, as with much regarding the Heat, it remains a holding pattern. It appears as if the Heat will wait on players they have targeted, feeling no rush into action with the start of camp still nearly two months away.

A: Hmm, patience? What a concept. Again, there is plenty of time to get plenty done. Plus, LeBron James pushed the typical NBA offseason back by about two weeks. But as you note with Crowder-Iguoldala, not all business and spending has to come immediately or even before the start of the season. When you are hard-capped, as the Heat stand, every dollar regarding payroll matters, as an exhaustable supply.

With no background in coding, Faith Maeba, a psychology major, was reluctant when her mother first suggested she enroll in classes on artificial intelligence.
But the senior at Virginia Commonwealth University began to see it differently as she looked into graduate psychology programs that explore human behavior in the workplace, which is quickly being upended by machine learning. Maeba, 21, is now pursuing a minor in AI.
"It's giving me an edge and standing out," she said.
Hiring has cooled for entry-level software developers — work increasingly done by AI agents — and college enrollment in computer and information science programs has been declining. Yet at campuses across the country, many professors are finding themselves busier than ever teaching students from a range of majors about artificial intelligence.
Colleges are responding to changes in student demand, but they also recognize that new graduates — regardless of their field — are facing questions about their AI skills from potential employers.
