Meghan Markle's former friend has opened up about why their once-close friendship came to an end years before she married Prince Harry. According to a new report, the public relations expert insisted there was never a falling out between them. Instead, he claimed they simply drifted apart as Meghan's life and priorities changed after entering the royal spotlight.
According to the Daily Express, PR expert Nick Ede said he became friends with Meghan Markle when she regularly visited the U.K. while filming "Suits." He claimed he introduced her to agents and accompanied her to fashion events before their friendship gradually came to an end.
"I'm not friendly with her anymore," Ede said. "It's not that we ever fell out, we just went our separate ways. She's very good at going her separate ways from people."
Ede also shared why he believes the friendship faded. "She went her separate way," he claimed. "I think because I have friends in the media, obviously she's part of the royal family, she decided that wasn't right."
The PR expert insisted he has no hard feelings over how things unfolded. "There are people more useful to her than I was at the time," he said. "I did a lot of stuff with her, we were really good friends, we had a lovely relationship."
