Coming off the Indianapolis Colts' Week 1 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Shane Steichen said that wide receiver Alec Pierce's left hand/wrist is fine, according to Mike Chappell of FOX59.
Following Sunday's game, Chappell wrote that Pierce briefly exited the game and was taken to the locker room after his left wrist hit the helmet of Ravens' linebacker Roquan Smith at some point in the first half.
Chappell added that Pierce's X-rays came back negative. He then spoke to the Colts' wideout about the injury after the game.
"It's good,'' Pierce told Chappell. "I just bruised up my hand. No worries.''
Pierce underwent offseason ankle surgery that landed him on the PUP list for much of training camp. He has spent the past few weeks ramping up, which included taking on a smaller role in Sunday's game.

Titans rookies played a combined total of 5,397 snaps in 2025. Only the Browns, Jets and Patriots devoted a higher percentage of their total snaps to rookies than the **** ans did. Sure, quarterback Cam Ward being on the field pretty much every offensive down for the entire season boosted that number. But the **** ans have been fairly insistent under GM Mike Borgonzi that the best way to get young players up to speed is to throw them into live action as soon as they're deemed ready.

Klay Thompson is one half of the Splash Brothers. That's an identity **** ody can erase, no matter where he goes.
He and Stephen Curry tore up the league with their impeccable three-point shooting and turned the Golden State Warriors into a dynasty that won four **** les in less than a decade.
Unfortunately, their partnership had to come to an end. It has been two years since Thompson left the Warriors in hopes of winning another championship.
He has a chance to do that this season after signing with the Miami Heat following a buyout with the Dallas Mavericks. Thompson decided to start fresh in the Eastern Conference and join a storied franchise that now boasts a superstar in Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Heat fans are loving Thompson's arrival. They still expect him to make an impact from beyond the arc.

With former Bearcats and NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, Connor Barwin and Brent Celek on hand, the University of Cincinnati football squad extended its home-opening winning streak to 25 games on Sept. 5, bashing Boston College 34-15.
The game was a slow grind with UC holding leads of 3-0 after one quarter and 10-0 at halftime. It was 24-0 late in the third quarter before Boston College scored and a late touchdown pass with just over a minute to go cut the Eagles' final deficit to 19.
In the UC vs. Boston College game preview, The Enquirer predicted 200-plus running yards.
Outcome: The Bearcats ran for 254 yards, with fifth-year player Gi'Bran Payne, who ran for 108. The last UC player to surpass 100 yards on the ground was Tawee Walker last Nov. 15 against Arizona.
We also said the Bearcats would pass for more than 200 yards.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas quarterback KJ Jackson threw three touchdown passes to lead the Razorbacks to a 31-14 win over North Alabama on Saturday.
Jackson, in his second career start, completed 24 of 35 passes for 267 yards and ran for 27 more. His three scores went to three different receivers, one in each of the first three quarters. Eleven different players caught passes for the Razorbacks (1-0), who returned just two of their top seven receivers from 2025.
North Alabama (1-1) picked up its first touchdown late in the third quarter after a Sutton Smith fumble gave the Lions the ball in Razorbacks territory for the first time in the game. A personal foul penalty moved North Alabama into the red zone and quarterback Destin Wade ran it in from 6 yards out to make it 21-7 with 2:10 left in the quarter.
Braylen Russell rushed for a 1-yard touchdown on Arkansas' next drive, capping an 11-play, 75-yard series. Russell led the Razorbacks with 49 yards rushing on 17 carries.
North Alabama managed just 17 yards of total offense in the first half and just five first downs through the first three quarters. A Wade pass to Xavier Johnson went for 59 yards in the fourth and Wade followed with two straight scambles for 16 yards, the second of which resulted in his second rushing touchdown.

Ukrainian forward Mykhailo Mudryk, whose doping suspension recently ended, has been loaned by Chelsea to Tottenham Hotspur for the 2026/27 season, the London clubs announced Tuesday.
The 25-year-old winger will look to revitalise his career under Roberto De Zerbi, his former coach at Shakhtar Donetsk, who took over as Spurs manager in March.
"I will demand a lot from Misha (Mudryk) and it is our job to help him find the best version of himself. If we do that then he can become a very important player for us," De Zerbi said in a Tottenham press release.
"I am very happy he chose to come here, and I cannot wait to work with him again."
The Football ******* ociation cleared Mudryk to play again in late July following an agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) that led to the withdrawal of the Ukrainian's appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The Seattle Seahawks made the somewhat surprising decision to not just release veteran wide receiver Cody White, but to not even retain him on the practice squad like has been the norm over the past couple of seasons. We now know that the next chapter of White's career will be with his former Seahawks offensive coordinator.
White has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad, which will reunite him with new Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak.
The Raiders have scarcely looked at signing available former Seahawks players, but now they have Cody on the practice squad and free agent signing Dareke Young on their 53-man active roster. If you've taken a look at the Raiders' receiver depth chart, there is a more viable path to game day elevations if not an outright promotion to the active roster for Cody. White joins the waiver-claimed Jared Ivey as the first two Seahawks roster cuts confirmed to be heading elsewhere this season.
White was in competition with Ricky White III, Montorie Foster Jr, and Emmanuel Henderson Jr for the bottom-end of Seattle's wide receiver depth chart. With Jake Bobo out for the year, there figured to be a reasonable chance that Cody would either be on the active roster or signed back to Seattle's practice squad. The fact that neither happened is yet another strong endorsement for the rise of Foster, who appeared to separate himself pretty clearly from Ricky White and Henderson throughout camp and preseason.

Youssouf Fofana (27) is closing in on a return to Ligue 1 football. The former AS Monaco midfielder is set to leave AC Milan to join Lyon on loan with an option to buy, according to Gianluca di Marzio. The 27-year-old has been informed by Milan head coach Ruben Amorim that he was not part of his plans for the season. The Frenchman didn't make Milan's matchday squad for the team's first two Serie A games.
Fofana joined AC Milan from AS Monaco for a €26m transfer fee back in the summer of 2024. He went on to feature 88 times for I Rossoneri. Di Marzio understands that negotiations are now at an advanced stage between Milan and Lyon on the basis of a loan with an option to buy.
Fofana's arrival could mean that Lyon will part ways with one of their defensive-minded midfielders. It could be Tanner Tessmann, who ws reportedly of interest for several Premier League sides.

Yes, it was backups against backups, but the Arizona Cardinals exploded for 492 yards in Friday night's loss to the Green Bay Packers, averaging 6.2 yards per their 79 plays, totaling 27 first downs, converting 9-of-15 third-down opportunities and controlling the ball for 37:31.
In the first half, the total was 323 yards on 42 plays (7.7 average) with 16 first downs and time of possession of 20:01.
They did all that with quarterbacks coach Matt Schaub calling the plays in his first season as an NFL coach. Schaub played the position for 17 seasons, ending in 2020, and the closest he had come to coaching was as a football **** yst with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023.
Earlier in training camp, Schaub said "I'm just a football guy," when asked what got him back in the game full-time.
"There's something in it (that) just kept drawing me back," he added. "When I finished up, I wanted to step away and be a husband and father (to four daughters). My family gave up so much time for the game for me when I was playing that I wanted to go try something new. I wanted to go do something different. But something kept tugging at me to come back and this opportunity came up.

LONDON (AP) — Rain was delaying England's bid for victory on Day 3 of the second test against Pakistan at Lord's on Saturday.
Play wasn't able to start on time at the home of cricket because of showers which are forecast for most of the day in northwest London.
If play is possible, England will resume on 81-3 in its second innings and with a commanding lead of 261 runs.
England won the first test by an innings at Headingley last week so it is looking to clinch the three-match series.

At long last, All In week has arrived. It's the biggest show on AEW's calendar, akin to WWE's WrestleMania, and is set to return to Wembley Stadium for the first time since 2024.
Before that happens, the go-home episode of AEW Dynamite took place from Glasgow, Scotland, on Wednesday, Aug. 26. It featured the final build for All In, including the semifinal matches of the Continental Challenge Cup and final words from the talent involved in Sunday's top matches.
So, what transpired? Let's take a look:
Will Ospreay opens the show. He says he had doubts about coming back from neck surgery to win the AEW World Championship. He says that long before AEW and NJPW, he started as a wrestler in the United Kingdom and talks about grinding there to prove it's where the best wrestle. Ospreay names a number of British wrestling greats, including some who have passed away.

Ospreay says when you think of the best in the world, it's hard to look past Kenny Omega. He says Omega isn't here tonight, but wants him to know that no one respects him more. Ospreay says that respect disappeared after Omega mentioned his son last week.

Ospreay says that on Sunday, Omega will get the Billy Goat, and he'll give everyone the performance of a lifetime.

Ospreay says it's time to bring the AEW World Championship home, and Omega will help him show that heroes are extraordinary people who can do extraordinary things.

Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye is reportedly an option for Tottenham Hotspur should they miss out on Cody Gakpo. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have completed the signing of Brazilian attacker Savinho from Manchester City this morning. Spurs are also closing in on his former teammate Omar Marmoush, but manager Roberto De Zerbi wants one more attacker. While Gakpo has been targeted for most of the summer, the Dutchman is also on the radar of Man City.
The Lilywhites have contingency plans in place should City move ahead of them in the pursuit of the Liverpool star. Ndiaye has emerged as an option for Tottenham, but City are also keeping an eye on the Everton star. AC Milan's Rafael Leao remains on Spurs' radar also, and other attackers on being monitored should they miss out on Gakpo.
Ndiaye has proven himself in the Premier League and he is also attracting the likes of Manchester United and Saudi Pro League clubs. Everton are desperate to hold on to him and will demand at least €80 million from suitors to sell the 26-year-old. ******* nal also have the Tottenham target on their radar, and a move to North London could be on the cards for the Senegalese international. Ndiaye has three years remaining on his current Toffees contract, and there is no exit clause in it. Everton have been looking to get the him to sign a new deal but their efforts have yielded no results. Ndiaye is insisting on an exit clause that could be triggered as early as this summer included in the new deal before reaching an agreement.

A California high school football coach was fired hours before their season-opening game on Friday, Aug. 21.
Adam Brubaker of Royal High was let go from his position following an incident in which he kicked a football at a player during a practice while being visibly frustrated. The footage was caught on the team's Hudl video system and showed the player being hit in the groin and buckling over.
"I got fired," Brubaker told the Ventura County Star. "It is what it is."
Brubaker said he was addressing a player who had tackled a teammate during a non-contact period when he kicked a football laying at his feet. He said it was "an accident."
"There was a football in front of me," Brubaker said. "I was **** . I wanted to kick the football all the way to Royal Avenue. Instead, it hits (the player). It was an accident. I didn't mean to hit him."

No player has scored more goals on the first matchday of a Premier League season than Mohamed Salah for Liverpool.
But when the Reds begin their 2026-27 campaign under Andoni Iraola at Newcastle on Sunday (kick-off 16:30 BST) , Salah will be playing for Trabzonspor against Istanbul Basaksehir in the Turkish Super Lig, some 2,100 miles away.
It will be the first time since 2015 that Liverpool will start a season without any of Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino in their squad.

At 34, Thibaut Courtois is entering his ninth season as a Real Madrid player and has set himself a new objective: winning his fourth Zamora Trophy, which would put him in an exclusive group of goalkeepers.

If and when Ketel Marte returns to the Arizona Diamondbacks from the injured list, he will apparently have some work to do to regain the trust and support of manager Torey Lovullo after his unexplained absence from the team earlier in the week.
The second baseman was placed on the 10-day IL on Thursday with left knee inflammation. But before that move was made, the D-Backs put the three-time All-Star on the restricted list when he didn't show up for Monday's game versus the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
"I was hurt, I was clearly hurt," Lovullo told reporters on Friday, via Griffin S. DeMarrais. "Once I saw what was unfolding, I became extremely frustrated. I felt betrayed."
Marte's absence was explained as a personal issue, but he returned to Arizona on Tuesday to undergo an MRI on his left knee. But it still wasn't clear if the knee soreness was the reason for his absence.
General manager Mike Hazen and team president Derrick Hall met with Marte on Thursday, but still apparently received few answers as to what led to his behavior. Hall said the team was withholding judgment on the situation until they received more clarification as to what was happening.

The attorney for Colorado football coach Deion Sanders filed a document in court Aug. 20 that said Sanders would face an undue burden if he is required to testify at his son Shilo's looming bankruptcy trial in Denver while Sanders' team prepares for its season opener at Georgia Tech on Sept. 3.
Sanders' attorney, Harvey Steinberg, also said he hasn't accepted service of a subpoena for Sanders to testify, contrary to court documents filed Aug. 19 by the attorney for the plaintiff in the case, John Darjean.
In his motion to quash the subpoena filed Aug. 20, Steinberg appears to be going all out in his effort to prevent Deion Sanders from testifying in the trial as his son tries to discharge more than $11 million in debt. The trial is expected to last up to five days, conflicting with the travel schedule of Sanders' team, which is leaving for Atlanta on Sept. 1.
"Mr. Sanders is the head coach for the University of Colorado football organization," the motion to quash states. "The CU Buffaloes' first game of the season is set to occur on September 3, 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia. Thus, Mr. Sanders' job obligations require him to continue working with the University, staff, and players to both prepare the team for its September 3 game and to travel with the team to Georgia.
"Common sense dictates that Mr. Sanders' absence from sitting outside the courtroom to await potential testimony will cause him significant and undue personal and professional burdens, and that such a requirement will also significantly impact the CU Buffaloes' preparation for their season opener."

Kim Mulkey is set to start her sixth season as the head coach of the LSU Tigers. In her second year with the team, she entered the LSU history when Angel Reese and the team won the first national championship for the first time in their history. They won the infamous 2023 final vs Iowa, which started Reese's iconic rivalry with Caitlin Clark.
Flau'jae Johnson was the last player on the team last season from the NCAA ***** le-winning squad. Mulkey now has a new set of players to lead and bring glory back to Louisiana.
LSU added some important pieces last season. One of the big names was Kate Koval, a Ukrainian international who transferred from Notre Dame for her sophomore year. Mulkey recently shared her conversation with Koval that took place before Minaeva's recruitment.
"I want you to understand I'm not here to ask you to change how you feel about Russia. I'm just here out of respect for your family and out of respect for you to let you know. Because I know how personal it is for you," Mulkey recalled her conversation with Koval.

CHICAGO — Pete Crow-Armstrong's walk-off home run in the opener of the City Series was still the talk of the town heading into Game 2 Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
Chicago White Sox manager Will Venable's decision to pitch to Crow-Armstrong in the 10th inning was debated ad nauseam on talk radio and the internet, and Venable reiterated Tuesday that he was at peace with the move.
"PCA's a really special player, and yeah, he's scary, but so is (Seiya) Suzuki, you know what I mean?" he said.
Meanwhile, Cubs fans and the media debated whether the epic night sealed the National League Most Valuable Player award for PCA in his duel with Los Angeles Dodgers unicorn Shohei Ohtani.

While the three other major professional sports leagues in the United States all have at least one team based outside the country, that is not the case in the NFL.
The league's 32 teams are all based within the continental United States, despite the league recently upping its experimentation with games played abroad. According to commissioner Roger Goodell, however, that could soon change.
In an interview with the German media outlet RTL/ntv, Goodell said he has "no doubt" that the league will expand beyond the United States' borders in the future.
"At some point, there will be NFL teams outside the USA," Goodell said, per ESPN. "I have no doubt that this will happen one day."
There are already nine international games on the docket in 2026, and the league voted this year to play as many as 10 in 2027. With the NFL clearly aiming to expand its horizons, which cities could be suitable candidates for the league's first international franchise?

Aug. 17—PULLMAN — Chalk up another game on Washington State's nonconference hoops schedule.
The Cougars will meet Seattle University on Dec. 19 at the Seattle Holiday Classic, according to a Monday news release, set for Climate Pledge Arena. It's part of a doubleheader showcase, which will also pit University of Washington against Baylor.
"We're looking forward to getting back to Seattle and bringing Cougar basketball to the thousands of WSU alumni in western Washington," WSU coach David Riley said in the release. "I believe playing the other Division-I teams in the state is an important part of developing the game and honoring its history in the Pacific Northwest. We look forward to facing the Redhawks at Climate Pledge Arena and welcoming Coug fans to the Seattle Holiday Classic."
It'll be the third meeting in the last two seasons for WSU and Seattle U, which split last season's series, then a West Coast Conference matchup. The Redhawks earned a 69-55 win in Seattle, and the Cougars followed with a 70-58 victory about a month later in Pullman.
It also represents another chance for each head coach to match wits. Riley and Seattle U coach Chris Victor were both **** istant coaches at Eastern Washington from 2015-17. In fact, both head coaches ran the same first play during their first matchup last season in Seattle.
