ATLANTA — Tennessee football fans will get two free cookies because Braylon Staley scored a touchdown against Georgia Tech.
Staley is UT's current so-called "Cookie Monster" for Moonshine Mountain Cookie Co., which gives fans two free cookies when the wide receiver scores a touchdown as part of his NIL deal.
The 18th-ranked Vols played Georgia Tech on Saturday, Sept. 12. But fans can pick up their free cookies on Monday, Sept. 14, at Moonshine Mountain Cookie Co. in Knoxville.
Staley's 20-yard TD catch in the second quarter earned the free cookies for UT fans.
Staley is UT's latest "Cookie Monster" for Moonshine Mountain Cookie Co. as part of an annual NIL deal. That ******* le was held by cornerback Alontae Taylor in 2021, wide receiver Cedric Tillman in 2022, wide receiver Bru McCoy in 2023-24 and kicker Max Gilbert in 2025.

We said the Royals were pesky. They came in and proved it in Game 1.
Kansas City beat the Red Sox 3-2 at Fenway Park on Friday night. Not a great start to a series that matters. The Royals had no business being three up through three innings in this ballpark against this team—and yet there they were.
Sonny Gray was the story, and not the good kind. Kansas City touched him for 10 hits across six innings and scored all three of their runs before the third inning was over. Sal Perez's two-out single in the first got past a diving Caleb Durbin down the left field line. Then Carter Jensen's double in the third went high off the Monster, and Vinnie Pasquantino followed by finding the hole right past a shifted-up Nick Sogard to make it 3-0. Three runs. None of them were bloops—decent contact, all of it—just well-placed at the worst possible time.
Gray settled in after the third—and yes, technically this was a quality start, six innings and three earned, which is almost funnier than getting shelled would have been—and the bullpen held Kansas City scoreless in the eighth and ninth, including stranding a runner at third with one out in the top of the ninth. But the damage was already done.

Carter Jensen hit a pair of doubles, drove in a run, and scored a pair to lead the Royals to their second straight victory and first win against Boston since August 6 of last year. The final score was 3-2 in favor of Kansas City.
It was kind of a weird start for Seth Lugo. I attempted to do a reverse jinx on him with the game preview, and he ultimately allowed only two runs in five innings. That's good enough for now. However, looking toward the future, allowing 7 hits and 2 walks, even while striking out 7, in 5 innings is not a recipe for sustained success.
He only threw seven of his pitches tonight and, perhaps most notably, eschewed the slow curve entirely. The curveball and four-seamer were both much more effective than they have been of late. Perhaps this is a sign he's on the rebound.
For a while it seemed like the jinx on Sonny Gray might work, too. Gray came into the game with a 1.74 ERA against the Royals, the best among any pitchers with at least 10 starts against the team. Jensen's first double led off the game. He advanced to third on a groundout from Bobby Witt Jr. and scored on a Salvador Perez single when Gray inexplicably threw Salvy a sinker in instead of the usual breaking stuff away.
In the third inning, it seemed like the Royals might just go ahead and knock out Gray then and there. Isaac Collins led off with an automatic double at 103.2 MPH down the right field line that hopped over the short fence near the pole. Carter followed up by smashing one at 102.6 off the monster in left to trade places with Collins. Bobby flew out to center at 103.3 to advance Carter to third and Vinnie Pasquantino hit one at 102.4 to give the Royals their final run. Sadly, Salvy grounded into a double play to end the inning and that was the last time KC would score.

Aaron Rodgers has sparked backlash over comments made about his previous relationships.
Appearing on his teammate Cam Heyward's podcast Not Just Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback aired out some dirty laundry pertaining to his relationships with exes Shailene Woodley and Danica Patrick.
Rodgers dated former Nascar driver Patrick from 2018 to 2020, and then actor Woodley from 2020 to 2022. The latter relationship ended in a called off engagement. He is now married to a woman named Brittani, though further details about her and their relationship are unclear.
The controversial NFL player's comments began when he was asked the question: "What do most people get wrong about you?" Instead of offering up a personal anecdote, he launched into verbal tirades against his exes.

Blake Roskopf threw five touchdown passes and Goodyear Desert Edge's defense stifled Scottsdale Notre Dame's offense in a 46-7 5A football rout on Thursday night, Sept. 10, at Desert Edge.
Roskopf quickly carved up Notre Dame's defense, finding open receivers all over the field. He threw two touchdown passes to Jhaheem Brown and two to Zerek Sidney, including a 61-yarder that gave the top-ranked Scorpions (3-0) a 40-7 lead with five minutes left in the third quarter.
Roskopf, a Washington commit, has quietly thrown 12 touchdown passes in Desert Edge's first three games.
But the story of its season so far has been the defense, led by electric junior edge rusher Jalanie George, who had another monster game.
When Notre Dame's Austin Bush ran 3 yards for a score with 7:21 left in the second quarter, it was the first time this season that Desert Edge allowed a touchdown. The score came after Desert Edge twice lined up offsides on two Notre Dame field-goal tries. With short yardage, the Saints picked up first downs both times, leading to the score and a 7-6 lead.

WATERBURY - High school football's double-wing offense is affectionately known by smashmouth running game enthusiasts as the "hammer."
Naugatuck was down 14 points in its season opener against Holy Cross on Thursday night at Municipal Stadium's Ray Snyder Sr. Field, but that changed once the visitors went to the hammer offense.
The Greyhounds scored three unanswered touchdowns, the last two runs of 15 and 4 yards by Brandon Andoh behind a monster offensive line, to stun the Crusaders 27-20.
Andoh's 4-yard score with 33.4 seconds left in the game and Gabriel Bello's third extra point in four attempts gave Naugatuck a 7-point lead, its first of the game.
The Greyhounds' defense made sure a last-ditch Hail Mary pass from Crusaders quarterback Brady Lombardo came up short of the end zone. That set off a massive celebration by Naugatuck and its student section.

Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) business keeps growing fast as more companies sign up for its cloud infrastructure. In the second quarter, total revenue hit nearly $120 billion. Google Cloud was the main driver behind this growth, as its sales surged 82%, turning it into a major profit source along with core businesses like YouTube. Alphabet leads the global online media market and is steadily expanding Waymo's driverless taxi service. Despite these strengths, the stock trades at roughly 17 times earnings around Cramer's commentary. That multiple is unusually low and understates the valuation of the company's underlying operations.
At the same time, there is a reasonable case for caution due to massive spending. Capital expenditures reached nearly $45 billion in Q2 alone as Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) spends aggressively on data centers and AI hardware. If making money from AI takes longer than planned, this heavy investment could hurt short-term cash flow and profit margins. Additionally, recent stock offerings have left some recent buyers holding shares at a loss.

Álex Rins is done with motorcycle racing. On the eve of the San Marino Grand Prix, the Monster Energy Yamaha rider confirmed he will leave MotoGP at the end of 2026, but ruled out a rumored move to the World Superbike Championship. Instead, Rins will step away from two-wheeled competition entirely and pursue a project on four wheels instead.
The rumors had been building at Magny-Cours, and Rins cleared them up himself during Thursday's media scrum at Misano. Discussions with Go Eleven reportedly fell through, and rather than chase a Plan B in WSBK racing, the 30-year-old Spaniard went a different direction entirely.
"I will not go to Superbike next year," Rins said. "I had two possibilities there. I really want to say thanks to them because they were quite interested in me. But I found another thing that really motivates me more." He added that he can't reveal the new project yet because negotiations are still on-going but hinted that it would be on four wheels instead of two.
"I'm really happy. For sure it was difficult to choose, because all my life in MotoGP, in this championship, many fights, many races, many wins," says Rins. "14 years, more or less. So yeah, I will stop with two wheels."
Rins didn't slam the door completely on bikes. He floated the idea of a limited return in the vein of Cal Crutchlow.

There's no stopping Aaron Rodgers on Cam Heyward's "Not Just Football" podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback opened up about his past relationships, including one with former NASCAR star Danica Patrick.
Rodgers refuted Patrick's account of their breakup and said Patrick had presented a version of their relationship that made him look like a "monster of a partner."
Rodgers said Patrick was struggling emotionally during their relationship, especially after she retired from full-time racing in 2018.
"I dated Danica. She had just retired. She was depressed and not fun to be around," Rodgers said.
He claimed he stayed to support her and be a good partner, even as their relationship began to fall apart. Rodgers claims that the couple eventually reached a point where their relationship had become distant.

In due time, future First-Ballot Hall of Famer Aaron Donald should make the Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams even scarier on paper than they already were. Sure, it's been two seasons since the monster interior pass-rusher last collapsed a pocket, but he's no longer the focal point of the Rams' defense. That honor, of course, belongs to Myles Garrett. For all intents and purposes, we should probably expect lots of fireworks from an older version of Donald, who will be double-teamed a lot less in his second stint with the Rams.
Unfortunately for the Rams and any of us who enjoy watching prolific, all-time pass-rushers, we won't see Donald do that when the Rams play the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, on Thursday. Why?
The simple and straightforward answer is that Donald, after being away from pro football for so long, isn't quite physically ready yet to subject his body to the inherent grit and grind of the game. As such, Donald didn't even travel with the Rams to Australia so he could continue focusing on his training and preparation for his eventual season debut.
That's disappointing, but understandable. After all, Donald didn't even join the Rams this year until after they had finished their training camp. For as much as he was undoubtedly doing his own training on the side while sitting in retirement, there's a big difference between that kind of training and getting ready to play physically demanding, high-level football games. The Rams are taking the right approach here because they know what Donald can likely still do at full capacity and understand they can certainly beat the 49ers without him.
It's just a shame that we have to wait a little longer to see one of the greatest football players of all time do his thing again.

Aaron Rodgers came out swinging against ex-girlfriend Danica Patrick over comments she made about their breakup.
The 42-year-old Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and 44-year-old retired NASCAR racer dated for two years before eventually splitting for good in July 2020. Their relationship came up in Rodgers' lengthy interview for the Thursday, September 10, episode of the Not Just Football podcast, as he opened up about exes who speak about him in the press.
"No one cares what they have to say until they use my name. I dated two women who **** ody gives a [expletive] about unless they drop my name," said the football star. "They like to say their version of the history, what actually happened, so I'm just this monster of a partner and it's just [expletive] [expletive]. The FIBA World Cup is underway, and the United States women are once again the heavy favorite to walk away with the gold medal. The US hasn't lost in the World Cup since 2006, and this year's roster is stacked with both veteran and up-and-coming talent.
Their biggest threat has long appeared to be France, who have dominated all three games of Group Play action and finished with the silver medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
But, there's another, more under-the-radar team that has impressed in the early days of the World Cup: Belgium.

There is a monster of a defensive lineman growing up about an hour and a half down the road in Louisville, and Kentucky is doing everything it can to keep him home.
Kellan Hall, a 2028 defensive lineman out of Christian Academy of Louisville, is one of the most talented young players in the entire country. 247 Sports has him as the No. 1 defensive lineman in the nation and a top-10 overall prospect in his class. Rivals actually lists him second overall in the class of 2028.
At a listed 6-foot-4 and right around 275 pounds, with the frame to keep growing well past 300, he is exactly the kind of trench player programs build their defenses around.
Recently, Hall trimmed his list to 12 schools, and the Cats made the cut. Kentucky is in there alongside Oklahoma, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon and Tennessee. That is about as loaded a group of blue bloods as you will find anywhere, and Big Blue is standing right in the thick of it.
It's also worth noting that Louisville, right in his own backyard, is nowhere to be found on his list.

Dell Technologies (DELL) just posted another monster beat-and-raise quarter that saw DELL stock jump more than 15% on Sept. 1 and almost 5% in the following session. But as delighted as Dell investors are, Micron Technology (MU) investors should be equally ready to celebrate. The quarterly numbers validate Micron's growth trajectory, and it shows there is little let up in sight.
Dell reported record fiscal second-quarter revenue of $47 billion, up 58% from a year earlier. Non-GAAP earnings came in at $7.04 per share, crushing Wall Street's estimate of roughly $4.72 per share. Even better, Dell raised its fiscal 2027 revenue forecast by $25 billion to $192 billion and lifted its non-GAAP EPS outlook for fiscal 2027 to $25.50.

This marks the first time an all-electric manufacturer will take part in the Australian Supercross series.

Stark Future will race the full 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, presented by Monster Energy. It is the company's first season in Australia, and the first time an electric motorcycle manufacturer takes the start gate in the series.
The Stark factory team will compete across all five rounds, starting in October, with riders in both the SX1 and SX2 classes.
The announcement coincides with a landmark development for Australian Supercross: Motorcycling Australia (MA) has approved eligible electric motorcycles to compete, opening the door for electric and combustion machines to race alongside each other within the appropriate competition classes. Subject to technical regulations and approval from Motorcycling Australia (MA), AUSX has permitted eligible machines to enter directly into the relevant established classes, mirroring a global shift in the sport. The Monster Jam monster truck stunt show is back in Jacksonville. Eventgoers can expect big trucks doing big tricks all weekend long.
Typically, this event is held at Everbank Stadium, but because of the Stadium of the Future construction, it's been moved.
Truckloads of dirt were wheeled into Vystar, but the big wheels everyone is interested in are 12,000-pound monster trucks!
"There's nothing like taking a 12,000-pound truck and doing a backflip into a nose wheel combo or something crazy like that," said monster truck driver Tony Ochs.
The Saturday and Sunday event features driver competitions in three categories: Racing, 2 Wheel Skills and Freestyle. Some of the stunts include back flips and vertical two-wheel tricks.

With ideal height-weight-speed benchmarks and outstanding feel for the game, Smith is as polished and gifted a receiver as you'll see come out of the college game. It has been a minute since a receiver was this well-regarded prior to turning 21 years old (which Smith does in November). He reminds me of Andre Johnson coming out of Miami. The sky is the limit.
Moore is nearly an elite athlete with great production to match. In 26 college games, he's recorded seven interceptions (one run back for a TD) and 18 passes defended. There are very few lockdown man-to-man corners in college, but the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Moore is one of them. The Irish are willing to glue Moore to opponents' best receivers and let him go to work. He's a willing tackler, but Moore could take another step by improving his consistency there and getting a bit stronger. Other than that, there's little not to like or even love about his game.
This might appear a tad ambitious of a ranking after a semi-frustrating season at Auburn, but most of Coleman's issues were QB-related there. That shouldn't be an issue in Austin. Lining up opposite Ryan Wingo, with Arch Manning throwing Coleman passes, appears to be a dream setup. He's authored some jaw-dropping catches in summer practices and could be in line for a monster season, ******* uming he can refine his route-running and cut down on the concentration drops. At 6-3 and 205 pounds, Coleman has a built-in-a-lab frame. He's an aerial acrobat and looks like a future top-10 pick, with just a shade more consistency.

Wall Street's most recognizable stock commentator just made a call. He wants a company to announce the biggest share repurchase in corporate history. That company is already buying back tens of billions of its own stock.
Jim Cramer made the case on "Mad Money" on Sept. 1. He argued that Nvidia should begin a $500 billion buyback and repurchase shares daily. He pointed to Apple as the model, CNBC reported.
"I'd quintuple the buyback authorization," Cramer said. "Announce a monster half trillion dollar buyback and repurchase a tenth of the company in a fairly aggressive fashion, every day, clockwork, and get bigger on the down days."
The proposal would dwarf what Nvidia already has in place.
In May, Nvidia's board approved an additional $80 billion in share repurchases with no expiration date. In the first two quarters of fiscal 2027, the company bought back nearly $40 billion of stock. That is almost as much as it bought back in all of fiscal 2026.

Here at Over The Monster, we like to ask a topical question of the day; but on this dreary morning, we might as well be asking the question of the month. Very simply: If the Wild Card series started today, who would you want starting those three games?
Of course, the Wild Card series doesn't start today, and Red Sox haven't officially punched their ticket into the dance yet. But with FanGraphs giving them a 97.1 percent chance to make the playoffs and only 0.3 percent chance to win the division as of this morning, it seems pretty darn likely they're going to be playing baseball on September 29th (and playing it somewhere other than Fenway Park).
The Red Sox know this as well and have already reshuffled their rotation to pitch Sonny Gray on Saturday (September 5th) and Payton Tolle on Sunday (September 6th). With off days for the month already scheduled for the 10th, 14th, 17th, and 28th (assuming they make the playoffs), this means Gray and Tolle could pitch with an extra day of rest every start from here to the end of the year in a normal five man rotation and be perfectly lined up to pitch Game 1 and Game 2 of the Wild Card series. (September 11th and 12th against the Royals, September 17th and 18th against the Rangers and Rays, September 23rd and 24th against the Guardians, and September 29th and 30th against the Wild Card opponent.)
So the Red Sox have already told us who they believe will start the first two games of the playoffs indirectly, but third option is far more complex. Historically, Ranger Suarez would be the best man for the job. Not only did they just give him a $130 million contract in January, but he also has a 1.48 career ERA in the playoffs. However, the Sox might not be too pleased with the way he threw the ball in Sunday's start against the Yankees with the tiebreaker on the line, and they might not want to set things up that way again for a potential winner take all game on October 1st.
So what about tonight's starter Jake Bennett? He just might be pitching for a postseason starting job over the next few weeks. If he does well and ****** ody steps up, the Sox could end up sending a rookie to the mound to start and do or die game in Yankee Stadium for the second year in a row.

Such as Samuel Kuffour, who particularly shone against international stars. The Ghanaian defender made 277 competitive appearances for the German record champions from 1993 to 2005 and won 17 trophies with the club. Samuel Kuffour's contribution to the fourth Champions League ***** le might be less prominent. The Ghanaian centre-back didn't provide an iconic moment at the San Siro on 23 May 2001, but his whole performance over the 120 minutes in the Bayern back three is legendary. Like in all the previous knockout matches, he's on the pitch the whole time and intercepts one attack after the other. He closes the opponents down, throws himself into tackles and aerial duels and cuts out countless ***** . Having nullified Manchester United's Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole in the quarter-finals, and Raúl and Guti of Real Madrid in the semis, now it's John Carew's turn. The burly, 1.96-metre number nine iss barely in the game in the final. For someone of his relatively modest height of 1.78 metres, "Sammy" looks shoulders above. How does he manage to hold his own so well against the stars of his day? What characterises his defending?
Kuffour never shirks a tackle. He seeks them out, defends proactively on the front foot and puts his body on the line in a way that's rarely been seen in FCB history. Even in training, he was no different. "I hated training against him," reveals Giovane Élber, who played with him at Bayern from 1997 to 2003. Of course, this style of play brings with it a certain risk – he holds the record for the most sending-offs in an FCB shirt (eight). But fans and bosses are happy to forgive him for that. "When someone clatters into players like Sammy, then he can also make mistakes," says Uli Hoeneß. Especially since he always manages to focus in the big games.
A key component of Kuffour's game is his impressive athleticism. He has tremendous acceleration and agility, which allow him to hold his own even against technically superior players. Added to this is his exceptional jumping ability, thanks to which he easily holds his own in the air against opponents like Carew. Unsurprisingly, this also allows him to pose a constant goalscoring threat in attack, especially at set pieces. Six of his ten goals for Bayern were scored with his head. However, this does not apply to his most important goal – the winning goal in the Intercontinental Cup final against Boca Juniors in the 109th minute of extra time in November 2001. He scores that one with his right foot amid a scramble in the penalty area.
