Several flights across Europe have faced bomb threats, officials have said.
An Aer Lingus Airbus A320 plane which departed Dublin on Thursday morning issued an emergency alert, diverted and landed at Evreux air base in northern France.
Meanwhile, Finnish airline Finnair said there was a bomb threat against one of its planes travelling from Helsinki to the Italian capital on Thursday. It was escorted by air force jets and landed as scheduled.
It comes just days after eight European flights, including two departing from the UK, were targeted by suspected bomb threats. No explosives were found on any of the planes after searches.
A statement from Aer Lingus confirmed that flight EI402 from Dublin to Rome "diverted to Normandy this morning as a security precaution."

Jessie James Decker wasn't willing to ignore the bare foot resting on her airplane armrest. She reached for a small spray bottle and aimed it at the foot, which quickly withdrew. The singer covered her mouth while laughing.
The 38-year-old shared the recording on Instagram on October 28, PEOPLE reported. Before reaching for the bottle, she had covered her nose and mouth. "Someone's foot smells so bad on the plane," she wrote over the footage.
"Before you come at me … What would you have done?" she asked in the caption. Suggestions included tickling the foot or drawing on it with a marker, according to Page Six. Other commenters said they would have responded as she did.
Some viewers questioned whether the encounter involved a stranger at all. They suspected the person behind her was her husband, former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker, whom she married in 2013.
"Have you seen Eric's feet? Toeeeee UP," she replied to a commenter who suggested the foot belonged to him, according to Entertainment Weekly. She did not identify the person in the recording.

Intel lost almost a third of its value on Friday. By the close, the Nasdaq Composite had sealed its worst month since March 2025, down 5.3%.
Tom Lee of Fundstrat, a Wall Street research firm, has another suspect. He thinks one big investor may have been forced to dump tech shares, leaving tech holders with the losses.
Speaking on CNBC as the Nasdaq slid on Friday, Lee said the market was fighting an "internal battle" and that the selling looked forced.
"Today looks like someone's getting liquidated. I don't know if it's an institution," he said.
By "liquidated," Lee means forced to sell. This happens when an investor buys shares with borrowed money and prices then fall. The lender wants its money back, so the investor has to sell at any price.

Meghan Markle is reportedly planning to challenge Prince William and Kate Middleton. According to sources, the Sussexes are facing new tensions with the monarchy after the King issued a letter reaffirming their status as "non-working royals." As such, Markle is allegedly planning to share more royal secrets in her upcoming projects.
According to OK! Magazine, Meghan Markle is ready to fight Prince William and Kate Middleton after a letter confirming the Sussexes' status. "Meghan suspects William influenced his father's decision to put her and Harry in their place, and believes Kate supported the move," a royal insider told the publication.
The insider continued, "Meghan has correctly interpreted the Palace's position as an attempt to reinforce the Sussexes' exclusion from official royal life." This is "despite their apparent efforts to improve family relations."
However, "she is now ready to take on William and Kate, and fight back against them by spilling even more royal secrets in her future streaming projects." The ******* ss of Sussex "thinks she has nothing to lose now." Another source said, "Meghan believes she and Harry should respond more ******* ertively to negative publicity."
They continued, "The Sussexes could increasingly use their own professional relationships and communications platforms to explain their position." This means "more documentaries and takedowns of the royal family from their U.K. home."

James Attwood: I don't really see how. Sure, the Brewers are a smaller market than the Dodgers. They have a much smaller payroll. But, if anything, the Brewers advancing is only going to fuel the MLBPA to get even stickier about trying to control salaries in any way, shape, or form. Also, even though plenty of fans and pundits like to give MLB front offices a hard time about making stupid decisions, those offices are by and large, stacked with incredibly intelligent people. Those people are going to be able to take a step back and recognize that one season's playoff picture is hardly a sample size large enough to be called indicative of the sport moving forward. There were questions after Arizona went to the World Series in 2023 about whether or not MLB had done enough to create obstacles for Wild Card teams in the playoffs, all because Arizona steamrolled the Brewers and Dodgers. This year, pundits are calling for the entire seeding system to be blown up because there was a team with a .500 record that not only made the playoffs, but won their division outright. Single seasons may bring some oddities, but they are usually not indicative of the reality of the game's overall health.
I suspect, both the ownership side of things and the MLBPA have already drawn their battle lines and have already started crafting their arguments. This outcome in the playoffs will do more to feed the online debates between fans and pundits than it will do for or against the CBA negotiations.
C. Wesley Baier: I think it will impact the CBA negotiations, but how much is the real question. I would be shocked if the MLBPA didn't use this as evidence against a salary cal, but I cant say if it wil be all that successful of a tactic.
Spencer: Nope. Anything can happen in a small sample size. Owners are greedy and want to abuse their employees/customers for profit still. Players are greedy and only care about the uppermost tiers of earning power. Fans will quiet down a little, but fan opinion and outrage has never been a driving force for either side.

Prince Harry and Prince William's feud might worsen if an ex-royal releases a tell-all book. According to a source, the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, might still have a lot to say about the Royal Family. It was said that they have kept their allegiance with Sarah Ferguson, who seemed to be planning a tell-all. Harry is allegedly "going all-out to ruin" William through his allies.
Prince William allegedly suspects Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are deliberately keeping Sarah Ferguson on their side. A source told Closer that the Sussexes have been "in touch" with Fergie and Earl Spencer. While the latter already dropped a bombshell Diana memoir, the former **** ss of York might still be in talks.
"While Sarah is insisting she's not going to write a tell-all book, she is apparently in talks, and if the money is right, she is definitely considering a memoir," the insider said. Furthermore, they claimed that Harry and Markle have allegedly been "trying to keep her on their side."
This way, the couple would reportedly have "some sort of control over what comes out." "They are keeping this allegiance firmly behind closed doors, but it's clear Harry is going all-out to ruin his brother, Prince William," they added.
Meanwhile, the senior royals, including King Charles, William, and Middleton, have seemingly been concerned about Ferguson's next move. They have already been dealing with Earl Spencer's memoir, which showed the king in a negative light. Now if Fergie did a tell-all, the royals fear it would be another crisis for the firm. "For Charles, William and Kate, it's another potential ticking time bomb," the source said.

LONDON (AP) — British police on Tuesday arrested a 22-year-old man in London on suspicion of a terror offense over a security incident at a U.S.-run military air base in England that authorities have linked to Iran.
The arrest is the seventh in connection with a suspected plot against RAF Fairford, located 100 miles (160 kilometers) west of London, which has been used by American bombers to strike Iran during this year's war.
Five British men in their 20s were detained near the perimeter of the base in the early hours of Sept. 27, and a 25-year-old British-Iranian man was arrested in London on Thursday. All six have been released on bail under investigation.
Counter Terrorism Policing said a British national was detained Tuesday in the Westminster area of central London on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts.
Vicki Evans, the senior national coordinator for counterterrorism policing, said detectives "continue to pursue multiple lines of inquiry" and "remain committed to investigating all possible angles."

Prince William has a strong one-word nickname for Prince Harry and Charles Spencer. As per reports, the Prince of Wales was blindsided by the claims and allegations his uncle levied against King Charles and the royal family in his recent Princess Diana memoir. Spencer reportedly insists that he had informed William and Harry at the same time. However, multiple sources have alleged that the future king was furious upon learning the contents of the book.
Prince William is reportedly angry after learning that Prince Harry had prior knowledge of Charles Spencer's book. According to a source attached to Heat World, William has branded Harry and Spencer as "traitors". The source elaborated: "William is seeing this alliance that Harry has formed with their uncle and it's got him incensed and calling both Harry and Earl Spencer traitors."
The source explained that the Duke of Sussex has sided with his uncle amid his ongoing rift with the royal family. However, Harry has not publicly expressed support for Spencer or commented on the memoir. His silence has reportedly fueled William's frustration, according to the source.
The Prince of Wales reportedly suspects Harry had read the book and knew what Spencer planned to reveal. While Charles reportedly wants to move past the issue, William is said to be willing to confront his brother. According to Rob Shuter's report, both King Charles and William were surprised by the memoir's contents. Neither reportedly received an advance copy. However, a source claimed that Harry received a copy weeks before its official release.
William and King Charles reportedly learned about the memoir's more controversial claims as excerpts emerged publicly. Rob Shuter's source alleged that Spencer gave Harry preferential treatment over William. The source said: "Harry had the book weeks ago. Charles Spencer wanted Harry to understand exactly what he was going to say about Diana before the world read it. Harry was brought inside the circle. William was kept outside it."

JERUSALEM, Oct 5 (Reuters) - The flydubai co-pilot who stabbed his captain in a suspected attempt to crash the plane has told UAE interrogators he planned the attack before he was hired by the Dubai state-owned airline, according to two Israeli officials with knowledge of the probe.
A third source briefed on the UAE probe said the co-pilot, an Omani national, had planned to crash last Wednesday's flight into Ben-Gurion airport near Tel Aviv. He had also operated a flight to Tel Aviv earlier this year and intended to hijack and crash the plane then, but opted not to, the source added.
It was not immediately clear why the co-pilot changed his mind on that previous flight, although the co-pilot is thought to have known someone onboard, the source said.
All of the sources spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the investigation. UAE and Israeli authorities did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did flydubai.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military said it attacked a boat suspected of being used to smuggle drugs in the Caribbean Sea on Sunday, killing four people, as the Trump administration continues its yearlong campaign against alleged traffickers in Latin America.
The latest attack brings the number of people who have been killed in boat strikes by the U.S. military to at least 235 in 70 strikes since the Trump administration began targeting those it calls "narcoterrorists" in September 2025. As with most of the military's statements on strikes in the eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea, U.S. Southern Command said it targeted the alleged drug traffickers along known smuggling routes.
The military did not provide evidence that the vessel was ferrying drugs. A video posted on X showed what appeared to be an explosion destroying a moving boat, which the military said was a go-fast vessel.
The Trump administration is pursuing deals with allied nations to extend its offensive to land across multiple Latin American countries. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said during a visit to Panama in August that Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras had agreed to allow the U.S. to carry out joint military operations against criminal groups on their soil. Guatemala denied reaching such a deal. Ecuador launched similar missions with the U.S. in March.
President Donald Trump has said the U.S. is in "armed conflict" with cartels in Latin America and has justified the attacks as a necessary escalation to stem the flow of drugs into the United States and fatal overdoses claiming American lives. But his administration has offered little evidence to support its claims of killing smugglers.

Actor John Boyega, best known as Finn in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy, is opening up about his personal life. In a recent interview, he was asked about the ring on his left hand. The "Attack the Block" actor then revealed the shocking news. Not only did he quietly get married two years ago, but he is also getting ready to welcome a child.
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA
Although he is now a household name for his roles in "Pacific Rim: Uprising" and "The Woman King," Boyega suffered a tragic loss when he was only eight years old. At the time, his friend Damilola Taylor, 10, was stabbed and killed. In the opening scene of a new BBC Two documentary about the killing, Boyega said, "Speaking about it could possibly help. I haven't revisited this in a long time. Yeah, my heart is just beating."
In November 2000, Damilola was stabbed in the leg and left to die in a stairwell. He was attacked as he walked home from an after-school club at Peckham library in South London. The case shocked the nation, not only because the victim was so young, but because the suspects were also children. Boyega was one of the last people to see Damilola alive. Now, he is ready to talk about that day and how his tragic childhood experience will shape him as a father.

Pierpaolo Piccioli presented his Balenciaga Spring 2027 collection on Thursday in front of a packed celebrity front row, bringing together longtime house faces, a few unexpected arrivals and some names I'm very intrigued to see here.
Tiziano Raw
Lauryn Hill might be the person who makes the most sense in this front row. Some will say, yes, but under Demna. However, there is enough edge and plenty of colour in Pierpaolo's Spring 2027 collection to appeal to Ms Hill, although I suspect she'll skip the more romantic looks from the opening section.
Arnold Jerocki/Getty Images for Balenciaga
Shailene Woodley was another person I expected to see in the front row. After the hammering she got for her Balenciaga look at the Emmys, inviting her to Paris and putting her up in a nice hotel was the least they could do.

Sean Combs was reportedly placed back in solitary confinement following a NBC News report that the music mogul was using a contraband cellphone to scroll on Instagram, kept a private stash of premium liquor, and had access to a jailbroken tablet where he watched a Netflix documentary about himself.
The 56-year-old was put in a special housing unit, both NBC and TMZ have reported, after footage was released of Combs seemingly using a cell phone while serving his 50-month sentence at Fort Dix in New Jersey. This would be Combs' second time placed in isolation, following a physical fight with a fellow inmate in July.

Opening a Bible that once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, staff at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in 2011 discovered a reddish-blond hair pressed between the pages. That hair, suspected to have belonged to Jefferson himself, launched a DNA investigation spanning more than a decade that’s now providing a long-missing puzzle piece regarding Jefferson’s relationship with Sally Hemings, an enslaved woman in his household.
After spending years reconstructing DNA fragments, scientists have revealed the most compelling evidence to date that Jefferson, a founding father of the United States, also fathered children with Hemings — a relationship that has been long rumored but never definitively proven. How that investigation unfolded is documented in the book “History by a Hair: Thomas Jefferson, Sally Hemings & Solving a 200-Year-Old Mystery,” written by Richard Kurin, a distinguished scholar and ambassador-at-large at the Smithsonian, and published on September 22.
Kurin is also senior author of a paper describing the methods that connected the former US president to Hemings’ descendants, which involved delving deep into the genetics of the Jefferson and Hemings family trees. The paper, published September 21 on the preprint platform bioRXiv, has not yet been peer-reviewed.
In addition to testing the hair found in the Bible, the researchers also collected genetic material from multiple confirmed samples of Jefferson’s hair, held in the collection of the Smithsonian. They compared that with DNA from descendants of multiple lineages: Jefferson and his wife Martha, Jefferson’s brother Randolph, and two of Hemings’ sons, Eston and Madison. (Hemings had four children who lived to adulthood, but only Eston and Madison claimed Jefferson as their father).
Matches in the DNA suggest the chance that Thomas Jefferson fathered at least one of Sally Hemings’ children was 99.96%.

Alluvium ******* et Management, an ******* et management company, released its "Conventum – Alluvium Global Fund" second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. The second quarter reflected a sharp shift from geopolitical uncertainty and oil market volatility to a powerful equity rally led by semiconductor companies. Despite the broader market strength, the Fund declined 1.4% in EUR terms, 2.2% in USD terms, and 3.9% in AUD terms. Portfolio results were mixed, with Alphabet benefiting from strong Cloud growth, while Robert Half, H&R Block, and other holdings posted solid gains. However, cable businesses and several healthcare and consumer holdings weighed on performance. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Conventum – Alluvium Global Fund highlighted HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA). HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA) owns and operates hospitals and related healthcare entities. On September 15, 2026, HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA) closed at $423.04 per share. HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA) returned 3.93% over the past month, and its shares are up 5.92% over the past year. HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA) has a market capitalization of $91.76 billion.
Conventum – Alluvium Global Fund stated the following regarding HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Our two healthcare companies had a poor quarter (in terms of share price performance, not business fundamentals). HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA), the hospital operator, fell 17.5%. The share price fell 8.8% immediately following its first quarter results (despite management reaffirming its 2026 guidance). We suspect this is a (over) reaction to poorer than expected respiratory volumes due to a mild flu season. With the shares trading at a discount to our valuation we bought a little more to bring the Fund's position to 6.4%."

Kohberger is working to undo his guilty plea to the 2022 Idaho murders.
The family of Bryan Kohberger is supporting his efforts to challenge his 2025 conviction, saying in a statement exclusive to ABC News, "Our full support of Bryan’s decision to pursue post-conviction relief does not come from a place of disregard.”
Kohberger, who is currently serving four consecutive life sentences for killing four college students in Idaho, said in his petition that the circumstances of his plea deal are now suspect because, among other things, he was “convinced to falsely confess” to a crime he says he did not commit.
“My actual innocence is my truth, and the plea, hinged on by false promises and blatant disinformation, MUST be withdrawn,” he said in a statement to the New York Times last month.
Kohberger's family told ABC News that they did not want their support of their son "to compound the unimaginable grief the families have borne so courageously."

All eyes will be on the September Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Unless there is extraordinary news, like collapsing crude oil prices, I am fully expecting a key Fed interest rate hike.
The Fed never fights market rates. Since market rates have risen globally due to higher energy prices, and after the ECB hike, more central banks are expected to follow and raise key interest rates.
The big news is expected to be the FOMC statement that may signal whether or not the Fed is "one and done" or signal that more key interest rate hikes will be forthcoming. Under new Fed Chairman Warsh, the Fed may not provide good guidance, since Warsh wants Wall Street to take its cue from market rates.
Related: Louis Navellier is buying 3 headline-making stocks, including Google
The good news is that with a hike already baked into the cake, there shouldn't be a negative market reaction on September 16. In other words, don't fear the reaper because even if interest rates rise and market volatility increases, fundamentally superior stocks continue to outperform. Ahead of the meeting, however, I suspect the stock market will trade sideways.

Chad Baker-Mazara's departure from USC last spring came after head coach Eric Musselman went off on a "profanity-laced, racially-charged" tirade against him in the locker room, the former player is alleging in a new lawsuit.
Baker-Mazara filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Monday, according to the California Post, claiming that Musselman erupted on him after the team's loss to Nebraska on Feb. 28. Baker-Mazara and the Trojans split just days later. He is suing the university for breach of contract, conversion and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, among other things.
Baker-Mazara left USC during the final stretch of the regular season last spring. Specifics of his departure weren't known, other than it was reportedly due to "an accumulation of issues," but the timing was very suspect. The announcement came on March 1, just days before the Trojans kicked off the Big Ten tournament.
Baker-Mazara transferred into USC from Auburn, and averaged career-highs 18.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
The incident in question, according to the lawsuit, happened after their loss to Nebraska on Feb. 28. Baker-Mazara said that Musselman started yelling at the team in the locker room. Baker-Mazara tried to address his teammates, and Musselman shut him down.
