President Donald Trump fired off a 1,321-word Truth Social post Sunday night mocking and attacking Bill Maher, days after the comedian defended attending a recent White House dinner with the president during his show's opening monologue on Friday night and declaring, "I like these dinners."
US President Donald Trump speaks at a midterm election campaign rally at Guardian Centers of Georgia in Perry, Georgia.
In the post, Trump lobbed multiple insults at Maher, calling him a "coward," a "major POTHEAD," and a "loser" while attacking the comedian's HBO talk show.
The president claimed that Maher was drunk during their recent dinner, alleging that he had "alcohol in his hand" as he walked through the White House and "looked like **** ."
Trump also disputed Maher's claim that the dinner, attended by ESPN host Stephen A. Smith and musician Kid Rock, lasted four hours, saying it lasted "two hours, maybe less," and adding he "felt it was a waste of time."

Colom would be Mississippi’s first Black U.S. senator since Reconstruction.
Why are major Democrats and Republicans flocking to Mississippi in recent weeks?
In a climate where polls show President Donald Trump's approval ratings cratering, Democrats are unusually optimistic about Scott Colom's chances of flipping the Senate seat held by incumbent Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith -- even in deep-red Mississippi.
"We got to have a senator that looks out for Mississippi, that puts Mississippi farmers first, Mississippi small businesses first, represent our values by not allowing corruption to ruin our country and actually delivers on the commitments to put America first," Colom told ABC News in an interview earlier this week.
The incumbent's campaign dismisses the Democratic push as the last-ditch effort of a campaign that will fall short.

Dua Lipa turned heads at the Southbank Center in a red Chanel dress featuring a fuzzy trim. Curating and hosting a panel discussion alongside celebrated author Zadie Smith for her Service95 platform at the London Literature Festival, the pop star struck the perfect balance between runway tailoring and edgy attitude.

On October 24, Dua Lipa took over the stage at the London Film Festival in a vibrant red Chanel dress. The piece was from the Chanel Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection. It featured a minimalist, clean-lined silhouette with a classic round crew neckline and long, fitted sleeves.
Lush, tonal red bouclé trim ran across the lower hemline and circled each cuff. These fringe details elevated the garment from a standard knit dress into a runway standout.

Sarina Wiegman has signed a two-year contract extension to remain England Women's head coach until the end of the 2029 European Championships.
The 56-year-old Dutch coach's contract with England was due to expire after next summer's Women's World Cup in Brazil.
The extension means Wiegman will remain in post through next summer's World Cup and Euro 2029, as well the 2027 Nations League campaign next spring which will serve as a qualification pathway for a Team GB squad at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Wiegman's backroom staff, including Janneke Bijl and Arvid Smit, who joined after the 2025 Euros, will remain in post as well as long-standing goalkeeping coach Darren Ward.
It is the second contract extension of Wiegman's England tenure since her appointment in September 2021, having signed a new contract in 2024 after reaching the World Cup final with England in Australia and New Zealand.

Penn State football may need a week off as much as anyone in the country.
The Nittany Lions must attempt to retool themselves in light of their disheartening 3-4 start, including the 21-18 meltdown defeat at Michigan — their fourth straight in Big Ten action — to start the Matt Campbell era.
The Lions have lost each of their conference games after beginning Campbell's first season in State College with three decisive, non-conference victories.
Penn State will not play this weekend, their only open date of the 2026 season. Its next game will be on Halloween against the Purdue Boilermakers (2-5, 1-3 Big Ten) in Beaver Stadium.
The Lions, stunningly enough, are in the middle of a four-game Big Ten losing streak for the second straight season. Last year, they lost six straight under fired head coach James Franklin and interim leader Terry Smith before winning at Michigan State.

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught seven of 14 targets for 75 yards and a touchdown in a Week 6 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: Many ******* ysts predicted Smith to have a breakout season in 2026, but a rash of injuries - including one to Smith himself - has kept that from happening so far. The sixth-year veteran set a career high in targets in this one after missing the last two weeks with a hamstring injury. It might be a bit of a ******* py road the rest of the way - certainly for as long as Tanner McKee is his quarterback - but volume should not be an issue for him. (He's averaging 10.3 targets per game in four games this season.) He could catch a bit of a break in Week 7 as the struggling Cowboys pay a visit to Philly on Monday night. Smith could push for WR1 production in that one, although he is a safer WR2 bet.

In addition to our live coverage of Rootstown's 17-7 win over Crestwood and Streetsboro's 30-0 win over Woodridge, here's a look at what happened in other Portage County high school football games in Week 9:
Watch Ohio High School Sports Live on NFHS Network all year
The Wildcats took control early, outscoring the Dukes 13-0 in the second quarter en route to a 20-3 halftime lead. Kade Thomas gave Mogadore the lead with a 20-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and Maddox Smith had two touchdown runs in the second quarter, including one from 26 yards out. Thomas added his second rushing touchdown to start the fourth quarter, and Quarviyon Siggers-Greco capped the night with a 50-yard TD run.
Thomas finished with 140 yards on 15 carries as the Wildcats (7-2) totaled 296 yards on 32 rushes.
Bryan Smithberger (12 of 17, 233 yards) tossed five touchdown passes as the Bombers (4-5, 3-5 Northern 8 Football Conference) secured a Saturday victory in the Keystone State. Dejuan Ramsey caught three of Smithberger's five touchdown passes. Ramsey had five catches overall for 129 yards.

Packers' Evan Williams denies Cowboys TD with huge Dak Prescott INT appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Green Bay Packers got on the board first in their much-hyped Week 6 clash against the Dallas Cowboys. Jordan Love connected with Matthew Golden for a nine-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
The Cowboys looked poised to answer as they got an interception from inside Packers territory on their next possession. They thought they had scored a pick six, but it was overturned. The Packers then hit back immediately as Evan Williams picked off Dak Prescott on the very next possession.
Williams likely saved a touchdown or at least a field goal with his interception as the Cowboys were already in the red zone. Prescott's pass was intended for CeeDee Lamb, but the Cowboys wideout likely wouldn't have gotten to the ball as it seemed to be thrown behind him. The resulting Packers possession resulted in a field goal after a marathon 15-play drive that lasted over eight minutes.
The Packers defense has been on quite a roll with the interceptions this season. Heading into Week 6, they were tied for the lead league with seven interceptions. And with their pick of Prescott, they have now recorded an INT in five of their first six games. Curiously, the only quarterback they failed to pick off was the Jets' Geno Smith.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker has made it a weekly tradition to surpass the already-high expectations of Chiefs Kingdom. If he didn't blow our minds enough by gashing the Denver Broncos for 173 yards on the ground in the season opener, he doubled down against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4 with 177 yards and a 76-yard run that turned the game in the second half.
Coming out of the bye week, there was reasonable speculation that rookie running back Emmett Johnson would spell Walker to keep the talented lead back fresh. Instead, Walker took the load again, gaining 139 yards from scrimmage on 21 touches.
None of his carries matched the long touchdown run that gave the Chiefs an early 9-0 lead over the Los Angeles Chargers.
On third-and-1, quarterback Patrick Mahomes came out of an under-center formation to hand off to Walker off counter action; right guard Trey Smith and second-year tight end Jake Briningstool made the key blocks to spring him in the first quarter.
"The 33-yarder was pretty open," Walker said in his post-game press conference. "(Tight end) Jake (Briningstool) came across and kicked out; there left was open."

In Week 1, the Browns were embarrassed by the Jaguars. Former Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, quoting JuJu Smith-Schuster, declared on NBC, "The Browns is the Browns."
Since then, the Browns is 4-1.
The biggest win of the season came on Sunday, when the new Browns beat the old Browns to create a three-way tie atop the AFC North. Because the Browns have beaten both the Ravens and the Steelers, both of whom are 4-2, Cleveland is in first place.
And first-year head coach Todd Monken intends to relish it. Until tomorrow.
"I'm going to enjoy tonight," Monken told reporters after the 13-10 win. "And that's what you have to do in the NFL. These are the nights that you don't ever want to end, because tomorrow it's on to the next game. And so, I sit there, I know it sounds really goofy, but you sit there in bed and you don't want the night to end. It's 10:30 and you're tired as **** and you want to be up another 15, 20, 30 minutes to enjoy it, because, **** , tomorrow I've got to look at the offensive tape and then you've got to move on to the next game."

Celebrity comedian Sebastian Maniscalco has responded to this week's uproar in the comedy community over his takeover of a SiriusXM channel that for years supported up-and-coming stand-ups while providing them a minor lifeline in royalty checks. He joins the broadcaster in ****** uring those up in arms over the station's disappearance that the company axed it well before the superstar took over.
In April, Maniscalco's Comedy Radio replaced SiriusXM's Channel 99, the longtime home of the Raw Comedy/Raw Dog channel, a small corner of the satellite radio giant where up-and-coming comedians could not only launch their careers but make a few bucks doing it. SiriusXM replaced the "jukebox channel," which rotated sets from comics and had no host, with one now "curated and headlined by Maniscalco" that features mostly mainstream and well-known talent. The uproar came this week when the advocacy group Stand Up for Standup and big-name comedians like Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho and Michelle Wolf took to social media to ask Maniscalco to bring Raw Comedy back to the platform. On Thursday, the superstar comic replied.

Taylor previously disputed reports about the divorce's financial terms. The case's sealed records and a subsequent confidentiality dispute have also become part of the public discussion.

Playing the leading role in a major Hollywood blockbuster that earned a billion dollars is the dream of many in the entertainment world. To do so alongside one of the biggest movie stars of all time, Will Smith, was certainly a dream come true for Mena Massoud. I sat down with him to unpack a hidden secret to career success that is not often discussed: the art of defiant surrender.
For many who lead companies or compete at a high level, it can feel like every moment must be maximized and every outcome manipulated. The performance literature points us somewhere else, to a flow state in which the brain is not preoccupied with holding tightly to every future outcome.
It may seem counterintuitive, but this liberates the brain to be in a place to actually access its best abilities.

Gen X has spent decades getting squeezed between bigger generations. Now, one 38-year-old says the group may have one final trick up its sleeve — disappearing.
Realtor Freddie Smith, 38, laid out his prediction in a TikTok about why he rarely talks about Gen X. His argument is pretty simple. Gen X is independent, uninterested in the culture-war noise and focused on one thing — making it to retirement.
"They are the most independent group of people that we will ever meet," Smith said in the TikTok. "They raise themselves. They've been independent their whole life."

When it comes to the battle for control of the U.S. Senate, Republicans are mostly playing defense. The lion's share of the races that will decide which party secures a majority in November are in red states — including Texas, Iowa and Ohio — where the GOP is hoping to hold on against ascendant Democratic challengers.
Minnesota is one of the few states in the country where the party is in a position to go on offense and potentially turn a blue seat red.
In pursuit of that goal, the GOP has put its hopes in Michele Tafoya, a former sports broadcaster and NFL sideline reporter turned politician who polls suggest has a real chance of winning in a state that has been dominated by Democrats in recent election cycles.
Tafoya is running for the seat currently held by Democrat Tina Smith, who is not pursuing re-election. Instead her opponent will be Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flannagan, a progressive who supports policies like Medicare for All and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Minnesota has been at the center of some of the biggest controversies of President Trump's second term, particularly his administration's sweeping immigration crackdown. Though a majority of Minnesotans disapprove of Trump's performance as president, Tafoya has steadily chipped away at Flanagan's lead in polls since the primary.

Jordyn Woods has spent much of her life in the spotlight, first as Kylie Jenner's longtime best friend and later as a model, entrepreneur and celebrity in her own right. From her Hollywood connections and family background to her relationship with NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns, Woods has built a life that extends far beyond her former ties to the Kardashian-Jenner family.
But how much do we really know about the life Woods has created for herself? From whether she grew up wealthy and where she lives today to the eye-catching engagement ring she received from Towns and her estimated net worth, here's everything to know about Jordyn Woods' life, career and finances.
Despite her close ties to the Kardashian-Jenner and Smith families, Jordyn Woods did not grow up in a wealthy celebrity household. Her father, John Woods, was a television sound engineer who worked on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", while her mother, Elizabeth Woods, worked as a talent and brand manager. Her parents' careers gave Jordyn an early connection to Hollywood, and her family became particularly close with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith through her father's work, according to People.
Jordyn has acknowledged that she had certain privileges growing up in California and being surrounded by successful people, but she has also pushed back against the idea that her family was wealthy. In a 2025 interview with Crystal Renee Hayslett, she explained that her father worked extremely hard to provide for their family and said that they "definitely struggled," emphasizing that being around wealthy people did not mean her family had the same financial resources.
Jordyn Woods currently lives in Los Angeles, California, with her husband, NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns. TMZ reports the couple purchased a $14 million home in the Los Angeles area, putting them among the city's many celebrity homeowners. Their move into the luxury property came as Woods continued to expand her career beyond social media, while Towns built his fortune through his NBA career.

Astronomers say they have directly detected the first-ever radio emission from a planet outside the solar system. The signal, however, is evidence of a colossal magnetic field — not intelligent life.
“I know radio signals are **** ociated with searches for extraterrestrial intelligence,” said Edo Berger, a professor of astronomy at Harvard University. “But this is something very different.”
The discovery, described in a new paper awaiting publication in a peer-reviewed journal, traces repeating radio bursts that appear to come from the exoplanet Beta Pictoris b, located 63 light-years from Earth — a short distance, astronomically speaking. The gas giant, about 12 times the mass of Jupiter, is one of three planets orbiting a young star that is 1.75 times as massive as the sun.
Processes **** ociated with the planet’s magnetic field produce the radio emission, according to Berger, a researcher at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Specifically, the detection involves auroras similar to Earth’s northern lights — the spectacular displays sparked by magnetic storms involving charged particles from the sun. “In order to see radio waves that extend all the way to the frequencies that we observed, you need an incredibly strong magnetic field,” added Berger, a coauthor of the paper posted September 15 to the preprint platform ArXiv.

Former special counsel Jack Smith fielded insults from Republicans and questions about his prosecutorial decisions as he sat before lawmakers on the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
Chair Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has been a leading voice in scrutinizing Smith’s twin probes into President Trump, obtaining and releasing reams of documents about the investigations while criticizing his decision to subpoena some lawmakers’ call logs.
Smith defended his work, saying Trump faced criminal charges related to the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case and the case tied to the president’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol as a result of his own illegal conduct. He added that he would have brought charges against any president who committed such crimes.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), meanwhile, accused the GOP of “gaslighting” the American public about how damaging the Jan. 6 attack was to democracy.
But Smith largely served as a punching bag for the committee’s Republicans.

Opening a Bible that once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, staff at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in 2011 discovered a reddish-blond hair pressed between the pages. That hair, suspected to have belonged to Jefferson himself, launched a DNA investigation spanning more than a decade that’s now providing a long-missing puzzle piece regarding Jefferson’s relationship with Sally Hemings, an enslaved woman in his household.
After spending years reconstructing DNA fragments, scientists have revealed the most compelling evidence to date that Jefferson, a founding father of the United States, also fathered children with Hemings — a relationship that has been long rumored but never definitively proven. How that investigation unfolded is documented in the book “History by a Hair: Thomas Jefferson, Sally Hemings & Solving a 200-Year-Old Mystery,” written by Richard Kurin, a distinguished scholar and ambassador-at-large at the Smithsonian, and published on September 22.
Kurin is also senior author of a paper describing the methods that connected the former US president to Hemings’ descendants, which involved delving deep into the genetics of the Jefferson and Hemings family trees. The paper, published September 21 on the preprint platform bioRXiv, has not yet been peer-reviewed.
In addition to testing the hair found in the Bible, the researchers also collected genetic material from multiple confirmed samples of Jefferson’s hair, held in the collection of the Smithsonian. They compared that with DNA from descendants of multiple lineages: Jefferson and his wife Martha, Jefferson’s brother Randolph, and two of Hemings’ sons, Eston and Madison. (Hemings had four children who lived to adulthood, but only Eston and Madison claimed Jefferson as their father).
Matches in the DNA suggest the chance that Thomas Jefferson fathered at least one of Sally Hemings’ children was 99.96%.

Elon Musk has never shied away from ambitious timelines, and his most recent one connects two companies directly together. In a post on X dated September 13, Musk stated that he is "highly confident" that **** e Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) will transport NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) Vera Rubin NVL72 AI computers into orbit next year, repeating a plan that has already moved both companies' stock this year.
The comment strengthens **** eX's Starmind concept, which aims to establish AI data centers in orbit rather than on the ground. The first satellite, named Starmind AI1, will carry a **** e-optimized version of NVIDIA's Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale system. The standard terrestrial NVL72 combines 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs, although **** eX and NVIDIA have not disclosed the final configuration of the orbital version. **** e Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) plans to launch the satellite in the fourth quarter of 2027 and reach substantial scale by 2028. Musk's plan isn't new; during **** eX's first earnings conference as a public company in August, he stated that the company would build exclusively on NVIDIA hardware in the future, calling the Vera Rubin architecture the best available AI computer design.
Musk's central point is that **** e is, in the long run, the most cost-effective area to develop AI computing. He cites solar power availability in orbit as a crucial advantage, and estimates that within two to three years, **** e might become the lowest-cost place for AI computing in general, describing the orbital architecture as simpler, less expensive, denser, and lighter than a standard data-center rack. Not everyone believes the physics and economics will align on Musk's timeframe. Microsoft President Brad Smith has publicly questioned the broader concept, telling reporters that he would be surprised if companies actually transferred computation from land to low-Earth orbit.
For NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA), the read-through is simple: **** e-based computing would represent a new, if early-stage and speculative, source of demand for its Vera Rubin platform, on top of the company's strong position in terrestrial AI infrastructure. According to some **** yst models, **** eX accounts for approximately 5% of NVIDIA's revenue.
SpaceX's reasoning is more convoluted. The plan is entirely dependent on the success of Starship, **** eX's next-generation rocket system, which still needs to demonstrate its capacity to handle launch frequency and reliability on the scale Musk describes. When Musk said during **** eX's August earnings call that the company would build its future AI infrastructure exclusively on NVIDIA, NVDA shares rose more than 4%, while **** eX's shares fell more than 10% before paring losses, reflecting investor concerns about execution risk and capital intensity, despite the fact that the NVIDIA relationship was well received.
