More than half a year after the U.S. captured and extracted Nicolas Maduro from Venezuela, the biggest American oil firms haven't returned to operating oilfields in the world's largest oil reserves holder.
Chevron, which has operated in Venezuela throughout Maduro's reign, is extracting and exporting oil to the U.S., but neither ExxonMobil nor ConocoPhillips have returned as negotiations led by Venezuela's state oil firm PDVSA are not progressing as fast as the U.S. Administration probably thought in January when it extracted Maduro and hailed the big U.S. return to Venezuela's oil industry.
There have been some deals signed in recent months, with service providers and smaller American oil companies, which seem more willing to take the risks of operating in the country, which has yet to see a stable political and fiscal environment for large-scale operations.
Earlier this month, Venezuela signed deals with oilfield service major SLB and Hunt Oil Co. as part of efforts to boost investment in its key energy industry, the country's oil minister, Paula Henao, said.

Welcome to the etf.com league table. On this page, you'll find the U.S. ETF market through different lenses: brand and issuer. What's the difference? The brand is what the ETF says on the tin. Artificial intelligence can help shave off hours of time when it comes to previously manual tasks, such as scenario planning or financial modeling. But as finance employees begin to rely more heavily on AI, it's crucial for finance employees to understand its inner workings — meaning "the CFO needs to have a whole set of processes in place around governance and ethics" when it comes to AI, according to Ian Schnoor, executive director of the Financial Modeling Institute.
The FMI offers a global program for financial modeling accreditation, a discipline where AI is becoming more entrenched. At the moment, many companies are still in the early days of adopting the technology, and "do not have strong disclosures or guidelines yet around AI," Schnoor told CFO Dive. "But if I was a CFO, I would want a policy to know exactly, how was AI used in this process?"
Schnoor, who began his career as an investment banker at Citibank, has served as executive director for the Toronto, Canda-based institute since 2016, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He also serves as an adjunct professor for the Smith School of Business at Queen's University in Toronto, Canada. Before FMI, he served as founder and president for the Marquee Group, a financial modeling training provider he sold to Training the Street in March of 2023.

Sustainable Growth Advisers (SGA), an investment management company, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter for its "Global Growth Strategy." The letter can be downloaded here. The SGA Global Growth Portfolio returned 7.4% gross and 7.2% net, compared with 14.9% for the MSCI ACWI and 19.8% for the MSCI ACWI Growth Index. Momentum leadership and enthusiasm around AI infrastructure drove markets, with semiconductor, memory, and hardware stocks accounting for much of the gain. Although the portfolio owned AI beneficiaries, broader holdings lagged despite fundamentals, as median revenue and EPS growth reached 12% and 14% and more than 60% of the holdings beat expectations. SGA believes valuation compression reflects sentiment rather than weaker business quality, leaving the portfolio near its widest discount to the market since inception. The firm continues to favor durable compounders and expects 16% revenue growth and 20% earnings growth over three years. Also, please check the Fund's top five holdings to see its best picks for 2026.

Guinness Global Innovators, an investment management company, recently released its Q2 2026 quarterly investor update for its "Guinness Global Innovators Fund". You can download the letter here. The Guinness Global Innovators Fund focuses on investing in global companies that benefit from innovation in technology, communication, globalization, and management strategies. In the second quarter of 2026, the Guinness Global Innovators Fund returned 13.8% in GBP, compared with 13.0% for the MSCI World Index and 13.1% for the IA Global sector average. Easing Middle East tensions, falling oil prices, and renewed enthusiasm for artificial intelligence helped reverse much of the caution seen earlier in the year, with investors rotating back toward growth stocks and AI infrastructure beneficiaries. The Fund benefited from its overweight position in the Information Technology sector, while its overweight position in Communication Services detracted. Avoiding weaker Utilities, Materials, and Energy also supported relative performance. Also, please check the Fund's top five holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Guinness Global Innovators Fund highlighted Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) as a new holding. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. It designs and sells a broad portfolio of AI-optimised processors and networking chips, positioning itself as a full-stack solutions provider across cloud and AI infrastructure while maintaining strong competitive positioning in PC and gaming endmarkets. AMD has notably closed the performance gap with Nvidia in recent years, driven by targeted acquisitions and sustained software investment. Loomis Sayles, an investment management company, released its "Global Growth Fund" investor letter for Q2 2026. You can download a copy of the letter here. The fund returned 6.43%, underperforming the MSCI ACWI Index's 14.93% return. The fund employs a long-term private equity investment strategy, focusing on high-quality businesses with sustainable competitive advantages, investing at significant discounts to intrinsic value. At quarter-end, the fund maintained an overweight in communication services, consumer discretionary and healthcare sectors, and an underweight in information technology, financials, industrials, and consumer staples sectors. Also, please check the Fund's top five holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Loomis Sayles Global Growth Fund highlighted Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX). Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX), a leading subscription-based streaming entertainment platform, detracted from performance during the quarter. On August 21, 2026, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) closed at $79.59 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $331.41 billion. Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) posted a one‑month return of 13.05%, while its shares lost 34.66% over the past 52 weeks.
Loomis Sayles Global Growth Fund stated the following regarding Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Founded in 1997, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is one of the world's leading internet entertainment platforms and a pioneer of subscription video on demand (SVOD), which it first launched in 2007. Today the company is a global leader with over 325 million paid subscribers, out of what we estimate is a total addressable market of one billion households outside of China, who access TV series, movies, mobile games, and other entertainment content across a wide variety of genres, languages, and devices. The company has subscribers in over 190 countries, with an estimated global audience approaching one billion, and generates almost 60% of its revenue from outside of North America.
We believe Netflix's strong and sustainable competitive advantages include its focus, scale, brand, and a large installed base of clients that are protected by high barriers to entry. As a pioneer in SVOD, Netflix has amassed a subscriber base that we estimate to represent just under 40% of all SVOD subscribers globally and approximately 50% of the industry revenue share of the leading global providers. We believe the company's strong brand is reflected in both its premium pricing versus peers and mid-single-digit growth in average revenue per user over the past five years. Over the past decade, Netflix has invested over $120 billion in content and amassed an estimated over 14,000 hours of original content, which is estimated to represent just under two times the next five largest streaming competitors combined. Of course, it is not just the quantity, but quality of the content that matters. Over this same period, Netflix received over 1000 E

Crypto card spending hit a monthly record, with stablecoin-funded purchases climbing to $1.03 billion, or $1.04 billion in supplementary reporting based on PaymentsScan data. PaymentsScan, an on-chain ******* ytics platform that tracks card activity across dozens of issuers, reported that the figure was up 16% from June and nearly 200% from a year earlier.
More than 10 million individual purchases were logged in July alone, according to PaymentsScan data cited on X by The Kobeissi Letter. Just three years ago, PaymentsScan's tracked monthly volume was roughly $1 million. The climb from $382 million in August 2025 to more than $1 billion in July 2026 marks sustained growth in the platform's tracked data.
PaymentsScan tracks card issuers across Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tron and Polygon, spanning providers including RedotPay, KAST, Gnosis Pay, Wirex and Rain-issued cards.
A supplementary report from Bitcoin World, put July spending at $1.04 billion. The report said USDT and USDC were the dominant stablecoins used for such payments, while noting that an exact breakdown by network was not disclosed. The figures point to digital dollars as a major funding source for crypto-card purchases.
Stablecoin cards can offer near-instant settlement and access for users without a local bank account. As more regional issuers launch and stablecoins continue settling faster than multi-day card networks, PaymentsScan's tracked monthly volume has continued to rise.

When investors think about artificial intelligence (AI) stocks, the usual names that come to mind are chipmakers powering the AI boom, cloud providers building the infrastructure, and companies developing the large language models (LLMs) behind the technology. Duolingo (DUOL), the company behind the world's most popular language-learning app, is rarely part of that conversation. Yet AI could prove to be just as important to Duolingo's future as it is to the companies at the center of the AI boom. The company initially found itself caught between two competing narratives.
On one hand, investors worried that increasingly capable AI translators and conversational models could eventually make language-learning apps unnecessary. On the other, Duolingo's own push toward an "AI-first" strategy sparked backlash from users, particularly after the company began replacing human contractors with AI. But while AI has created legitimate challenges for the business, it has also become a powerful tool for expanding what Duolingo can offer. One of the clearest benefits has been course creation.

Equinix is a familiar name for SGA, having been a portfolio holding for ten years before being sold in 2024 as the growth rate had slowed and management was in the midst of a leadership transition. Both dynamics have since reversed, with growth re-accelerating as AI inferencing ramps and power demand remains high, and with new leaders now announced and in place." Guinness Global Innovators, an investment management company, recently released its Q2 2026 quarterly investor update for its "Guinness Global Innovators Fund".

AMD has notably closed the performance gap with Nvidia in recent years, driven by targeted acquisitions and sustained software investment. The Helios platform, built on AMD's acquisition of systems integrator ZT Systems, is AMD's first rack-scale system unifying graphical processing units (GPUs), computer processing units (CPUs) and Pensando networking into a frontier AI infrastructure solution, and should be a material growth driver from 2027 onwards. AMD is also structurally advantaged by a shift in data centre computational architecture. Its EPYC server CPUs offer industryleading performance-per-dollar and have taken substantial share from Intel in enterprise and cloud deployments. The rapid build-out of AI infrastructure is driving demand for high

The report links this growth to a larger pool of wealth, more advanced investment approaches and the rising role of family offices as providers of long-term capital.
It notes that India currently has more than 19,000 ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), a figure projected to cross 25,000 by 2031.
Over the next decade, intergenerational wealth transfers valued at roughly $1.3tn-$1.5tn are also expected, adding to the need for stronger governance structures, succession arrangements and more institutional operating models.
Alongside the rise in **** ets, investment patterns are also changing.

Buy now, pay later products provider Affirm Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFRM) is one of Cramer's favorite stocks. The shares are down by 3% over the past year and are up by 4% year-to-date. On multiple occasions, the CNBC TV host has praised the firm's CEO. For instance, in January, Cramer predicted that the shares would touch the $100 mark. The latest closing price for Affirm Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFRM) is $77. Here is what he said about the firm on August 17th:
"I think that Workday, that was a good run. How about that. That was a very good run. And I noticed that Salesforce already started coming down. We do have a Salesforce conference coming up and I know Marc Benioff's going to say that everyone's just dead wrong. Can everyone be dead wrong? Conceivably. But, what I don't like is, I didn't put Affirm in this group. And the reason I didn't put Affirm in this group because that one should be at a hundred. That one is real. That one has the growth that I want. That one has the CEO that I liked. That one has short sellers and people who don't really understand that Levchin, he's brilliant. Max is brilliant. And I just think that that one is the only one I would buy right here."
As is with most stocks, the debate for Affirm Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFRM) surrounds its valuation as well. The stock currently trades at a forward P/E ratio of 39.84, which is more than twice that of JPMorgan and more than thrice that of PayPal. As a result, the growth expectations for Affirm Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFRM) appear to be rather high. They are a strong gross merchandise volume (GMV) growth of 35% annually, revenue less transaction costs growth of 41% (to outpace GMV growth) and active customer growth of 22%. Consequently, the firm appears to be feeding its merchant growth into customer growth.
Additionally, Affirm Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFRM)'s point of sale algorithmic data also enables it to adjust and avoid defaults. Yet, at the end of the day, the firm nevertheless relies on consumer spending and interest rates, and economic turmoil stemming from inflation could generate headwinds through both of these. Additionally, funding costs are also trickier due to the firm's reliance on private credit markets.
Shifting towards Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM), the shares are down by 17.5% year-to-date. Over multiple appearances, Cramer has discussed the split in the firm's AI and non-AI businesses. This split is also at the heart of the debate surrounding the firm. Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM)'s Agentforce, which is its AI platform, marked 205% annual ARR growth, $260 million sequential growth, 152% sequential token processed growth and 111% in sequential work unit growth to indicate that AI-related tailwinds are in place. Yet, at the same time, overall contribution by Agentforce remains muted as it represented two points of Q1 revenue growth. Additionally, the AI and data ARR also includes figures from Informatica, which makes it difficult to ****** yse the impact of Ag
