Former Rep. Mary Peltola is rescheduling several upcoming campaign events after she and her family sustained "minor" injuries in a car crash, her campaign announced Sunday.
"Mary and her family sustained minor injuries but are in good spirits. Unfortunately, per the advice of medical professionals, Mary's upcoming events in Fairbanks and Bethel will be rescheduled for later in the week as she takes time to recover," Peltola campaign manager Cheryl Bruce said in a statement.
"Mary is disappointed that the accident is delaying the start of her Alaska Always Tour, and she is eager to get back on the campaign trail to speak directly with Alaskans about her plan to take on the rigged system and lower costs for working families," Bruce added.
Peltola was en route to the Alaska Federation of Natives' annual banquet Saturday when a vehicle transporting the candidate and her family was struck by another driver, according to the campaign. A spokesperson for the campaign said they had no reason to believe the accident had been politically motivated.
The police department in Anchorage confirmed Sunday that a collision involving three vehicles occurred on evening and those involved sustained "non-life threatening injuries."

Another busy NFL Sunday kicked off bright and early for Week 6, with the Jacksonville Jaguars playing in their second consecutive game in London. The Jags failed to come away with a win, falling to the division rival Houston Texans on a last-second field goal, but there was one major bright spot.
Former No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter had a breakout performance on both sides of the ball, hauling in his first touchdown catch of the year before coming up with an interception late in the game. It was nearly enough to spark a Jacksonville comeback.
After the game, Hunter's wife, Leanna Lenee, was gloating about Hunter's performance and took some time to call out some of his past critics who were outspoken with their thoughts that Hunter couldn't be a two-way star as a pro.
Specifically, Lenee aimed at Shannon Sharpe, who immediately clapped back on Nightcap with Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson on Sunday night.

Elina Svitolina has announced the end of her five-year marriage to fellow tennis star Gaël Monfils, attributing the decision to the emotional and mental impact of Russia's war in her native Ukraine.
Svitolina, 32, said in a statement posted on both players' Instagram profiles on Monday that she had endured sleepless nights, doubts and a feeling of losing herself, even with Monfils' support, before coming to the conclusion that she could not rediscover herself within their marriage.
"Gaël saw all of it," she wrote. "He never let go of my hand. We fought through this together for a long time, with everything we had. But some battles happen deep inside you, and no amount of love from someone else can win them for you.
"With time, I came to understand that I need to find my way back to myself and that I cannot do that within our marriage."
Svitolina's announcement comes a year after she ended her 2025 season early, saying she was not in the right emotional state to compete following Ukraine's Billie Jean King Cup semifinal defeat by Italy. Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Svitolina has spoken repeatedly about fearing for family and friends at home while competing overseas.

New York governor Kathy Hochul will today (Monday) launch an 88-person exploratory committee to report on the feasibility and challenges of a formal bid to host the Winter Olympic Games, according to people with knowledge of the announcement who spoke anonymously as they were not authorized to do so publicly.
The potential bid would see New York City and Lake Placid partner to host the 2042 edition.
Earlier this year, Gov. Hochul told The Athletic that "significant" meetings had taken place as she seeks to return the Winter Olympics to New York state for the first time since 1980, which is best remembered for the Miracle on Ice when the U.S. hockey team defeated the Soviet Union. Gov. Hochul, while announcing the committee today, will also announce a $2.5 million funding commitment to create a monument in Lake Placid in honor of the Miracle on Ice team.
The Lake Placid-New York City Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games Exploratory Committee will have an eight-strong leadership group, which will include Ashley Walden, the president and CEO of the Olympic Regional Development Authority, as well as representation from the offices of Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand (both Democrats), sources said. It will also include Julie Su, appointed deputy mayor for economic justice of New York City by mayor Zohran Mamdani, as well as Hope Knight, the president of Empire State Development, the New York state economic development arm.
There is a 16-member sub-committee on finance, which includes John Collins, co-owner and operating partner of the New York Islanders, and Josh Cohen, the son of New York Mets owner Steve Cohen, who works as the team's vice president of business development. Randy Levine, the owner of the New York Yankees, is one of 12 members of a legal sub-committee, which also includes Robert Landau, the executive vice-president of NBC Universal, the long-time broadcaster of the Olympics in the United States.

According to FCInterNews, Riznyk spoke to UPL.TV after Shakhtar's domestic victory over Kolos, describing the result as useful preparation for the Milan trip. He said the team had prioritised winning and avoiding concessions, with the Champions League fixture already in view.

Sport.ua's account of the UPL.TV interview identifies the domestic result as a 2-1 win over Kolos in the ninth round of the Ukrainian Premier League. It also reports Riznyk's view that Shakhtar controlled the game and deserved the victory.

Alex Scott has been one of Liverpool's main targets ever since Andoni Iraola was brought in.
The Spaniard managed to turn despite him only being 23 years old.
Scott knows Iraola's system like the back of his hand and, during their time together at Bournemouth, the two often spoke highly of one another.
At the moment, one of Liverpool's main issues is their midfield so, if Iraola can bring someone in who already knows his system, it would make things much easier.
That's why, of all the recent midfielders linked with an Anfield switch, Scott has been the most talked-about.

Packers' Jordan Love highlights what offense needs to reach its full potential appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Green Bay Packers have had some ups and downs this season. More recently, it's been more ups than downs. Jordan Love and the Packers picked up a big win on Sunday Night Football over the Dallas Cowboys. However, even this win wasn't without some pain points.
The Packers offense has been under some real scrutiny this season. Green Bay has had some big moments offensively. In other times, though, they've looked either sluggish at best or straight bad at worst. After Sunday's win, Love spoke about what needs to happen for this offense to find consistent success.
"I still think there's so much more out there for us as an offense, and once we get that run game really going and solidified, it'll help a lot of areas," the Green Bay signal-caller said, via Packer Dispatch writer Zach Jacobson.

Green Bay is 4-2 on the season heading into Week 7 in Detroit after a 23-13 home win over the Cowboys that included a blunt postgame ****** sment from coach Matt LaFleur. LaFleur wants his team to focus on the details, something Jordan Love did well and linebacker Zaire Franklin's defense also excelled at in Week 6.
Franklin spoke to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic after the game during which he gave a warning on the Packers' hungry defense.
"I think it's just a credit to who we can be…Obviously we've got a lot of things we can clean up but I feel like we are a defense on the rise, every week we continue to get better and better…We got some stuff to clean up but I think the ceiling is extremely high."

Guglielmo Vicario spoke to DAZN after the defeat to Lazio, and his words were scathing.
"No, there is no need to pass the buck or point fingers here. Responsibility must be shared equally by everyone in the dressing room and the team, so we will ******* yse things with the coach because that performance was well below par in every respect. Looking for excuses or hiding behind circumstances is not my style, and it is not what we want. We must not even entertain that thought because it is absolutely not what Juventus stands for. Jets' Garrett Wilson reasons with stunningly quiet day in loss to Patriots appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Jets were unable to defeat the New England Patriots on Sunday. New York made it more of a game late than it had been in the first half. But in the end, they couldn't get anything going. A major reason for this was the rather quiet day from wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
For most of the game, Wilson wasn't targeted much. In fact, the ball went his way just twice before the fourth quarter. He ended the game with four catches and 44 yards on six targets. After the game, he spoke about the lack of action his way.
"I try and reason it in my head because we've got a whole nother fourth quarter and I know that the game can change at any moment. Just try and keep playing my role, waiting for that moment that they want to call on me," the Jets wide receiver said, via SNY Jets.

Nahla Aubry, 18, has defended her mother Halle Berry against allegations made by Olivier Martinez.
Halle Berry's 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, has spoken out in defense of her mother amid an ongoing custody dispute involving Berry and her ex-husband Olivier Martinez. In a declaration filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Nahla said she had never witnessed Berry act violently toward anyone or physically abuse 13-year-old Maceo.
Nahla described Berry as a "loving and devoted parent" who is warm, supportive, and deeply involved in her children's lives. Nahla also said she has seen her mother and Maceo playfully wrestle and interact affectionately, adding that she never saw him appear hurt or distressed afterward.
Nahla said she was "shocked, very sad, and very upset" when she learned about the allegations. She also said Berry has encouraged both children to maintain relationships with their fathers and has not spoken negatively about either man to them.
Martinez, Berry's former husband and Maceo's father, has sought sole custody of their son. In court filings, he alleged that Berry physically abused Maceo during a Sept. 26 incident, including allegations that she put her hands around the boy's neck and choked him.

Hayden Panettiere's 11-year-old daughter Kaya appeared by video at a court hearing in Los Angeles Thursday, Oct. 8, as her father, Wladimir Klitschko, won permission to enlist police in recovering missing property. ATHENS, Greece (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday flatly refused to comment on a new report alleging that U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle engaged in improper and possibly illegal conduct before taking up her post.
Rubio told reporters that he would not discuss the allegations contained in a Wall Street Journal story that said Guilfoyle had asked a donor and supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump to pay a $100,000 credit card bill just before her confirmation hearing, promising him access to administration officials if he did.
He spoke before leaving Greece, where he delivered a speech calling for European countries to return to what he described as their civilizational roots.
Rubio said he was aware of The Wall Street Journal's report, which was published late Wednesday, but had no idea if it was true and he would not address it.
"You guys walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it, it's the gospel. It's not the gospel. It's not the gospel for me. That's not the way we do things," he said at the foot of his plane as Guilfoyle, who was there to see him depart Greece, looked on.

Sean "Diddy" Combs' projected prison release has moved back 41 days, reversing recent changes that had brought his expected release closer.
Bureau of Prisons records reviewed by PEOPLE on Oct. 7 list March 2, 2028. Combs is currently held at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey.
The previous projection, Jan. 21, 2028, appeared in records reviewed Sept. 29 and reported by Wealth of Geeks the following day.
The BOP declined to explain the revision, citing privacy, safety and security. A spokesperson for Combs told Us Weekly that his team receives no explanation of how the agency adjusts his dates.
In a Sept. 29 investigation, NBC News reporters Rich Schapiro and Chloe Melas interviewed four men who had spent time in Combs' housing unit. The outlet also reviewed prison photographs and video, including footage appearing to show him using a contraband cellphone.

The U.S. Senate candidates in Texas could hardly be more different: James Talarico, a former seminarian turned Democratic state lawmaker who speaks in calm cadences about love and empathy, and Ken Paxton, the pugnacious Republican state attorney general who speaks about a refusal to compromise.
They share an enemy, though. They dislike social media's effects on children's mental health. Talarico, who did not respond to a request for comment, has endorsed a social media ban for kids under 16, while denouncing "predatory algorithms that divide us on an hourly, daily basis." As a legislator, he co-authored a bill targeting explicit deepfakes — digital imitations of individuals that are often made or manipulated by artificial intelligence and used for harassment on social media.
Paxton has been suing Big Tech, alleging the companies hook youth on their apps or don't restrict sensitive videos from being viewed by kids. "When elected to the U.S. Senate, he will continue his proven record of advancing policies that protect children online, strengthen parental rights, and hold Big Tech accountable when it breaks the law," Paxton campaign spokesperson Madison Cercy said in a statement to KFF Health News.
Youth mental health is in decline. Even as researchers explore what's causing the problem, momentum is gathering among policymakers from both parties to crack down on social media companies. Several major companies are being sued, investigated, and, soon, potentially regulated. That they may be harming kids' mental health is a key reason.
