Smriti Mandhana has revealed that former India captain MS Dhoni personally congratulated her after the Indian women's team lifted their maiden ODI World Cup ***** le in November 2025.

Speaking at an event featuring Dhoni, Mandhana recalled receiving a WhatsApp message from the legendary cricketer following India's historic triumph. She admitted that the gesture made her particularly happy, knowing that Dhoni is not someone who uses his phone frequently.

"He actually did send me a message after the World Cup win. I know he does not use his phone a lot. I was very happy that he used WhatsApp to congratulate all of us," Mandhana said.

Host Harsha Bhogle then asked Mandhana whether she had saved Dhoni's number.

"I did have his number," she replied.

Dhoni, meanwhile, offered an interesting explanation for choosing Mandhana as the recipient of his message. He revealed that she was the only member of the Indian women's team whose contact number he had saved.

"I did not know anyone else's (number) from the team. I wanted the message to go through. We had just shot (a commercial) before that. I thought, 'Let me send a message to Smriti' and I mentioned, 'Please wish everyone who is part of the team," Dhoni said.

India created history on November 2, 2025, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in Navi Mumbai to win their first-ever Women's ODI World Cup. The triumph ended the team's long wait for an ICC ***** le.

Batting first in the final, India posted 298/7, with Shafali Verma leading the charge with 87 runs and Deepti Sharma contributing 58. Deepti then delivered with the ball, taking five wickets as South Africa were dismissed for 246 despite a century from Laura Wolvaardt.

Former Man Utd and City star Carlos Tevez has opened up about the intense animosity he felt toward Gary Neville following his controversial cross-town switch in Manchester. The Argentine forward admitted he was left fuming by public criticisms made by his former captain after he swapped Old Trafford for the Etihad Stadium.
Tevez sent shockwaves through English football in 2009 when he traded Manchester United for fierce local rivals Manchester City. At the time, City were freshly armed with Abu Dhabi investment and determined to disrupt the Premier League's established hierarchy.
Tevez had enjoyed immense success at Old Trafford, securing two league ******* les and a Champions League crown. However, a bitter contract dispute triggered his departure across the city.
The Argentine striker felt aggrieved by Sir Alex Ferguson, claiming the legendary Scottish manager broke a verbal promise to sign him permanently after his two-year loan spell concluded. This tension laid the foundation for an acrimonious exit and a lingering rivalry with former captain Neville, who accused Tevez of disrespecting the manager.
The animosity between Tevez and Neville stemmed from the full-back's public ******* ertion that the striker had mishandled his departure. Speaking on Rio Ferdinand's YouTube channel, the scale of that friction was laid bare.

The iconic skyline of Milan is set for a historic transformation as the city's two footballing heavyweights prepare to move into a state-of-the-art new home. In a move that signals a massive shift in the financial landscape of Serie A, AC Milan and Inter have officially secured a record-breaking naming rights partnership with Italian insurance giant Generali for their future shared arena.
Milan and Inter have agreed a staggering 20-year naming rights contract with Generali, which ESPN reports is worth €650 million (£545m/$725m). The new 71,500-capacity venue will be officially known as the Generali Stadium, effectively replacing the historic San Siro. The clubs purchased the required land from the city last November for €197m, paving the way for the eventual demolition of their legendary current home.
Construction is targeted to begin in 2028, with the first matches scheduled for the 2031-32 campaign, pending necessary approvals. Spearheaded by respective ownership groups RedBird Capital Partners and Oaktree, the stadium project also anchors a wider urban regeneration plan featuring new retail, leisure, and green ******* es.
The massive financial commitment eclipses the $700m agreement struck by Crypto.com in 2021 for the Los Angeles arena shared by the Lakers and Kings. It stands as a monumental boost for the two Serie A giants as they look to modernise and bridge the matchday revenue gap with Europe's elite.
A new symbol for Milano.
A new home for future generations of fans.

From time to time, it can feel like a lot of our most beloved celebrities and historical figures are dying at the same time. It has happened so often that now people expect famous people to die in threes, even when there's no reason for that.
And while all deaths are equally sad, it's true that some of them get way more media coverage and reactions, especially in the modern internet era. Looking through history, you might notice that some figures didn't get the homages they deserved only because another, more relevant figure happened to die on the same day.
So, here are some historical deaths overshadowed by other, more important deaths.

Warren Buffett spent nearly 50 years drinking Pepsi. His son even nicknamed him "Pepsi Warren." Then a neighbor handed him samples of a new cherry-flavored Coca-Cola, and the legendary investor switched sides.
The soda switch made for a good story. The stock purchase that followed made history.
Buffett began buying Coca-Cola shares in 1988, and Berkshire Hathaway eventually built a 400 million-share position for about $1.3 billion. Today, that stake is worth roughly $37 billion at a share price of $93, while the annual dividend income has climbed to about $848 million.

Chris Boswell has officially etched his name in the Pittsburgh Steelers' history books during the team's Week 6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Trailing the Buccaneers 13-0, the Steelers called on Boswell to kick a 52-yard field goal, which he made with ease. This successful field goal was the 309th of his career and would tie legendary Steelers kicker Gary Anderson's record for the most field goals made in team history. Oh, but Boswell wasn't finished there, as he successfully connected on a 39-yard attempt to secure his 310th field goal, surpassing Anderson and setting a new record in Pittsburgh that should only grow this season. Boswell also hit on two more field goals to close out the game, pushing the record to 312.

Boswell, who signed with the Steelers in 2015, wasted little time emerging as one of the league's top kickers, earning two Pro Bowl selections in 2017 and 2024, as well as First-Team All-Pro recognition in 2024.
The field goal record isn't the only feat Boswell was after, as the talented kicker is also 43 points away from breaking Gary Anderson's all-time scoring record of 1,343 points. We at Steelers Wire will be watching closely over the next several weeks as Boswell continues to remind fans why he's one of the greatest kickers ever to do it.

Certain celebrities don't just enter a room — they redefine it with an unforgettable presence. Whether it's a mesmerizing gaze, a striking smile, or a powerful stature, these stars have built iconic careers around characteristics that make them truly one-of-a-kind. We're pulling back the curtain to celebrate the bold, the beautiful, and the unique figures who became famous for more than just talent.
Jen Lowery/ Mega / MEGA
Barbra Streisand's inimitable profile and expressive eyes have become nearly as legendary as her storied voice. Throughout her decades-spanning career, she leveraged her distinctive look, refusing pressures to change and instead turning her uniqueness into a signature of elegance and confidence. Despite being told early in her career to alter her appearance, she resisted undergoing a rhinoplasty in part because of the risk it posed to her singing voice, as reported by TODAY.
Jen Lowery/ Mega / MEGA
Kate Bosworth's different-colored eyes have made her stand out in every role she takes on. This rare feature gives her an instantly recognizable appearance and adds an enchanting element to her on-screen presence. She has a naturally occurring condition called heterochromia; one eye is blue while the other is partially hazel — a trait affecting less than one percent of the population, per Optometrists.org.

Ray Fisher became internationally recognizable as the technologically enhanced superhero Cyborg, but his career began far from the world of comic book blockbusters. The American actor developed his craft through theater before making the leap to major Hollywood productions. His upbringing, particularly the influence of his mother and grandmother, helped shape the values he later carried into his professional life. When Fisher encountered difficulties behind the scenes of Justice League, he chose to speak publicly about his experience. That decision became an important part of a career increasingly ****** ociated with both performance and workplace accountability.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Fisher grew up in Lawnside, New Jersey, in a large family raised primarily by his mother and grandmother. He has described both women as his real life superheroes, praising the determination and strength they demonstrated while he was growing up. His interest in acting became serious during high school, when encouragement from a teacher led him to audition for theatrical productions.
Fisher continued developing as a stage performer and eventually established himself in professional theater. One of his most demanding early roles was Muhammad Ali in the Off Broadway production Fetch Clay, Make Man. Preparing to portray the legendary boxer required substantial physical transformation as well as the ability to capture Ali's confidence and personality. The experience demonstrated the discipline Fisher could bring to a role before Hollywood audiences became familiar with him.
His major screen opportunity arrived when Zack Snyder selected him to play Victor Stone, better known as Cyborg, in the DC film universe. Fisher made a brief appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before receiving a much larger role in Justice League. Production changed significantly after Snyder left the project and Joss Whedon took over during post production. The theatrical version released in 2017 reduced much of Cyborg's original storyline.
In 2020, Fisher publicly accused Whedon of inappropriate and unprofessional behavior during the Justice League reshoots. WarnerMedia subsequently conducted an investigation after Fisher raised concerns involving the production. In December 2020, the company announced that the investigation had concluded and that remedial action had been taken, without publicly detailing what those measures involved.

Brian May is best known as Queen's legendary guitarist, but nature conservation is another important part of his life. May, who also earned his PhD in astrophysics and has helped NASA, loves this planet and all its wildlife.
In 2013, May announced that he had purchased 157 acres of land that was due to be developed into housing in Bere Regis, Dorset, England. He intended to transform it into a nature reserve where native British trees and wildlife could thrive.
During a July 2012 interview, May told The Sunday Times, "Queen is a huge part of my life, but I do have other interests. People know about the astrophysics, but I love gardening, too, and I've always been passionate about the welfare of our wonderful British wildlife."
Since then, the former farmland has been cultivated into a woodland wildlife sanctuary and animal rescue.
May worked with local residents and wildlife officials to make the plans for the nature reserve. In a February 2013 BBC interview, May shared his plans for the freshly purchased former farmland.

Björk and Mugler make a compelling match, particularly when you consider their shared fascination with nature, technology and transformation. But this collaboration goes far beyond simply wearing a fresh-off-the-runway look.
On the same day Miguel Castro Freitas presented his Mugler Spring 2027 Naturalia X collection, Björk wore a custom look for a DJ performance in Poland.
Her look combined the collection's purple **** erfly-print second-skin top with a black leather corseted high-waisted skirt, but it was the headpiece that connected Castro Freitas' Mugler with one of the house's most celebrated chapters. Björk wore a fringed feather creation from Thierry Mugler's legendary Les Insectes Spring 1997 Haute Couture collection.
That archive addition feels particularly apt considering Naturalia X explores the relationship between nature and technology, the artificial and the primal. Castro Freitas has also described Björk as a longtime inspiration.
Her involvement extended to the runway presentation itself. 'Öll Birtan' featured on the soundtrack, while excerpts from the Venus as a Boy and Possibly Maybe music videos appeared in Casper Sejersen's visuals throughout the venue.

A newlywed groom is in less hot water than you'd think after saying the name of his new bride's sister at the altar by mistake.
On Sunday, September 20, TikTok user emmagraceshay posted a cringe-worthy video from her wedding day in which her now-husband is vowing to take his new bride in sickness and in health, only to make a pretty legendary gaffe.
During the moment, he calls his wife "Emily Grace Pumfrey," forcing her to quickly correct him because her name is actually Emma. While it's not exactly a difficult slip-up to go from "Emma" to "Emily," even in a high-stakes moment like a wedding, the caption of the video reveals the most shocking part of the whole ordeal.
"Plot twist: It's my sisters name. Still not over being called Emily at the altar," Emma wrote.
Since posting the video, it has gained millions of views and plenty of opinions from people who watched it, with many saying they would have stopped the entire wedding and dumped the man right then and there. Meanwhile, others note the good humor with which the bride took the blunder, as she's seen in the video laughing as she corrects her fiancé.

Fenimore ***** et Management, an investment management company, released its Q2 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. U.S. equity markets saw broad gains in Q2, driven by strong corporate earnings, economic resilience, and enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (AI). Major indices reached all-time highs, though the energy sector declined. Continued earnings growth, especially among AI-related investments, supported the rally. Technology, particularly semiconductors, led performance as demand for AI infrastructure surged. Despite macroeconomic uncertainties and interest rate influences, Fenimore remains committed to investing in high-quality businesses. The Fenimore Small Cap Strategy returned 9.51% in the quarter, lagging the Russell 2000 Index's 21.49% gain. The underperformance was largely driven by avoiding lower-quality tech stocks linked to data center expansions. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Fenimore ***** et Management highlighted Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN). Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) is a specialty insurance services company that provides distribution, underwriting, product development, administration, and risk management services. On September 17, 2026, Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) closed at $40.03 per share. The one-month return of Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) was -8.32%, and its shares lost 25.53% over the past 52 weeks. Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) has a market capitalization of $10.15 billion.
Fenimore ***** et Management stated the following regarding Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We initiated a position in Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN), which we had previously owned after its initial public offering. The insurance industry has seen softness in rates. While RYAN's model differs from traditional retail brokerage, the company released results citing a volatile environment which led to a decrease in their earnings outlook for the year. We're encouraged by the business's long-term prospects and, in our opinion, its legendary leader Pat Ryan. He is also purchasing shares of RYAN's stock during this weakness."
Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 32 hedge fund portfolios held Ryan Specialty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RYAN) at the end of the second quarter, compared to 35 in the previous quarter. Amid a wealth of style choices at the 2026 Emmys, one color ruled above all: a bold crimson in its best look-at-me hue, seen on women happy to embrace its powerful psychology. From Cailee Spaeny in custom Miu Miu to Hassie Harrison in Monique Lhuillier, Rhea Seehorn in Louis Vuitton and Emmys host Mariska Hargitay in Monse on the red carpet, the choice was just the beginning of an evening that acquitted itself well on the style spectrum.
Among the more touching elements of the night's fashion conversations were the remembrances of legendary designer Bob Mackie, whose death in Palm Springs at the age of 87 was announced mere hours before the 78th Primetime Emmys kicked off at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. During the pre-show, E! News host Keltie Knight took a moment to honor Mackie, calling him "one of the most prolific and celebrated costume designers of all time … [who] created some of the most iconic looks of all time for stars like Cher, Carol Burnett, Elton John, Diana Ross, Marilyn Monroe, Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton and so many others. His impact on the world of fashion is really hard to put into words, and his legacy absolutely lives on." E! News finished the segment with a moment of silence and a black screen.

Sue Bird took center stage in Apple TV's recently-released three-part docuseries on the history of UConn women's basketball, which focused its second episode on the program's bitter, longstanding rivalry with Pat Summit's Tennessee.
Bird starred for Geno Auriemma from 1998 to 2002, a stretch that included two Final Four matchups with the Volunteers and served as the apex of tensions between the two programs. The Hall of Famer praised the Apple TV production for a nostalgic look back at her legendary run with the program and for spotlighting the themes that have defined Auriemma's four decades leading UConn.
"I finally got a chance to check out 'The Dynasty: UConn Huskies,' the doc that was on Apple TV," Bird said on her "Bird's Eye View" podcast Monday. "And listen, I loved it. I think we can all agree, right from the jump, that it is so well done. It is a wonderful documentary."
"There were certain players or certain eras touched on more, but I think what has always united us as players, whether you played together or not, was that we all had very similar experiences. The journey might have been different, but the arc was really, really similar. So, you definitely got a sense of what it was like to play at the University of Connecticut."
As one of the most recognizable stars from UConn's turn-of-the-century teams, Sue Bird was closely involved with the production in the documentary. Bob Mackie had strong feelings about Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe's historic dress.
The legendary fashion designer, whose death was announced Sept. 14 at age 87, sketched the original design at the start of his career while working as an ***** istant to French-born costumer Jean Louis.
Monroe made American history in 1962 when she wore the nude shimmering gown during her performance of "Happy Birthday" for then-President John F. Kennedy. The dress and her serenade were never forgotten.
So much so that 60 years later in 2022, Kardashian worked with the owner of the dress, Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum, to wear the bling-encrusted gown to the Met Gala, acknowledging that she slimmed down dramatically to fit into it.
Mackie called Kardashian's wearing of the skin-tight gown a "big mistake," telling Entertainment Weekly that Monroe was "a goddess. A crazy goddess, but a goddess." He went on to describe her as "just fabulous," noting that the dress "was designed for her."
